A 48-hour deadline imposed by the university has come and gone and protestors still remain on the West Lawn at Columbia, Negotiators on the students’ side say little progress has been made that would encourage them to tear down the encampment that has now been in place for more than a week. The students say the period of setting timetables for progress is over.
