The Anxiety and Depression Association of America reports that depression or Major Depressive Disorder is the leading cause of disability for people between the ages of 15 &44. "In 2015 around 16.1 million adults aged 18 or older in the US had experienced at least one major depressive episode in the last year-". We've heard about post-partum but it's probably safe to say that this number has to represent a number of pregnant women. Despite societal expectations, pregnancy doesn't eradicate depression. It's not like your depression is absolved because you're pregnant now. So let's talk about it! I'm sharing my story and I've invited my guest, a Licensed Behavior Specialist and Doula to talk about her encounters with mothers dealing with depression! Enjoy!
