In this interview, you are going to meet your next Facing Dragons Mentor, Bob Burg. @BobBurg is a sought-after speaker at company leadership and sales conferences sharing the platform with everyone from today’s business leaders and broadcast personalities to even a former U.S. President.

Bob is going to teach how you, as a good person, can become more comfortable, and even thoroughly enjoy the process of, making sales in your business. He’ll share how sales is actually service and offer his own personal definition of sales and influence. It’s a breath of fresh air that could really set you free to enjoy spreading your message and living your purpose to the next level.

“I define selling as simply discovering what the other person does want, need or desire and helping them get it.” – Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver

As with our ongoing exploration of what success really is, we’ll find out if Bob Burg considers himself successful and what his definition of success actually is.

Bob Burg is also going to teach:
THE 5 LAWS OF STRATOSPHERIC SUCCESS

LAW #1: The Law of Value

Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

To do this, we need to understand the difference between price and value so that we can sell on value, rather than sell on price.

“When you sell on price, you’re a commodity. When you sell on value, you’re a resource.” – Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver

5 Elements of Value
allows you to take price right out of the equation.
Excellence
Consistency
Attention
Empathy
Appreciation

“Value is in the eyes of the beholder.”

LAW #2: The Law of Compensation
Your income is determined by
how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

The more people you add value to, the number of lives you impact, will determine the amount of income you receive.

LAW #3: The Law of Influence

Your influence is determined by
how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.

“Ultimate influence, what I define as being able to deal with people in such a way that you obtain the results you want, while helping them to feel genuinely good about themselves, about the situation, and about you. The premise being that people skills is really the differentiator when it comes to achieving success.”  – Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver

“The golden rule of business, the golden rule of sales, is simply that, all things being equal, people will do business with, and refer business to, those people they know, like and trust. And there’s no faster, more powerful, or more effective way to elicit those feelings toward you from others than by making your win about the other person’s win.” – Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver

LAW #4: The Law of Authenticity

The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

“All the skills in the world, the sales skills, technical skills, people skills, as important as they are… they’re also all for naught if you don’t come at it from your true, authentic core.” – Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver

“If authenticity and showing up that way is so good for business, which it is, why do people often show up as, I guess the correct latin term would be… phonus bolonus; as not totally real or congruent? I think the default answer is, well, that person’s just not honest or they want to rip us off… and I don’t think that’s the case. Now, it’s a big world and certainly there’s a lot of people out there and some are not well intended…, but by and large, I think 99.9% of the time, that’s not the case. I think the biggest reason that sometimes people don’t show up as themselves is because they don’t have the self confidence to do so. They don’t have truly recognize the value that they bring to the table. And, let’s face it, it’s hard to show up authentically when you don’t feel you have anything worthwhile to show up about.” – Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver

LAW #5: The Law of Receptivity

The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

“Giving and receiving are not two separate concepts. Giving and receiving are actually two sides of the very same coin.” – Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver

Find out on our show how you authentically give to add value, while also being open to receiving?

Bob Burg will share the dragon that he has faced and battled with all his life, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

“You’re never successful because of OCD. You’re successful despite having OCD… I’ve often said, there’s nothing good, there’s nothing I’m thankful for in having OCD… however, I would say, there is something that I have out of it that has helped me to serve a whole lot of other people, and that is, from having OCD, it has given me an enormous capacity to be able to empathize with others. I can really kind of deeply feel when other people are in pain and, because of that, I think I’ve been probably able to help people through things, both business and personally, that maybe I wouldn’t be able, had I not had OCD.” – Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver
