The Witchcraft Act of 1735 decriminalized witchcraft in England creating a wave of so called "white witches" or witches that dealt with telling fortunes, selling potions, and good luck charms.
In the early 19th a witch would show up, predict the end of the world and then be embroiled in a plot of murder and poison.
