In Episode 17 of Facts Driven, host Dan Thomas breaks down the basics around the coronavirus epidemic. The virus is believed to have started in Wuhan, China after reports of Numonia were reported in mid-December. On January 1st of this year, it was discovered that wildlife being sold at a market in China were discovered to be the source of the virus. As of today March 18th, 2020 there are over 218,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus worldwide and over 8,800 deaths have also been confirmed. In the US alone over 7,700 cases have confirmed and 115 deaths, however, the US is severely lagging behind on testing procedures at the moment and confirmations only reflect a fraction of what is really happening on the ground.This is serious.
