RATING
As a limited one-season series, Faerie comes to its resolution a lot quicker than prior Public Radio Alliance shows thus it serves its subject better. Like Tanis, the PRA fiction podcast template allows artful indulgence into creepy folklore that skirts a supernatural border. Its muted drama and thriller aspects remain present throughout the whole; however, at times its self-serious manner transforms it into an auditory mirage more than story. Still, it should appeal to not just PRA fans but also those fond of the darker retellings of Grimm fairy tales and fae lore.
Great premise but poor execution. I felt no emotion from the main characters whose monotone dialog was spaced so far apart it was almost comic. No real suspense even during scenes that were meant to be. I stuck through the whole series but in the end didn't care what happened to the characters or the world they lived in sadly.
The voice acting is a little stiff, but I love the premise and the plot moves along at a great pace with interesting characters
Rating - 6.5/10Nothing fancy. An average plot with excellent production quality. Lot of supernatural elements and can be considered as a fun listen to people of all ages. Wouldn't recommend other than it being a casual watch and the characters aren't all that memorable. Overall not disappointing and not mind-blowing either.Note: These are only my amateur personal review ratings/thoughts, you are welcome to have your own opinions.
I loved it, so descriptive and vivid
I love the story and would like to see how this ends up, but they are milking it so hard! It's almost unbareable, to listen people making mystery out of every sentence. It's torture at moments. Also the investigator is supposedly sceptical, but it's very unconvinceing. Otherwise it's well produced and the story is interesting... Maybe I'll go through with it...
Very much enjoyed it and thought it was interesting.
An intriguing premise but could have fit it all into six episodes. The writing was painful to listen to, the pacing was way out, and I’ve heard more enthusiastic performances from a bunch of bored teenagers reading Shakespeare for the first time. I should have put the speed on x2, since the pauses and gaps between character dialogue was that large and everyone had short, clipped answers, with no emotion at all. The main character had to tell us she was terrified and frankly it did not sound like it at all. Also very blatant and irritating self promotion inside the storyline isn’t endearing at all.
Due to it’s limited nature - it achieves what The Black Tapes, TANIS, & The Last Movie were aiming for at its most successful
