Proverbs 11:14 says, Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. Those are wise words in any situation, but particularly when it comes to your finances. Are you seeking the safety of a wise financial counselor? We’ll talk about that today with Rachel McDonough.Rachel McDonough is a Certified Financial Planner and a Certified Kingdom Advisor and she’s seen firsthand the benefits of getting outside advice on managing money. THE IMPORTANCE OF BIBLICALLY BASED FINANCIAL ADVICERachel says it is especially important for Christians to seek wise counsel about their finances. She says any competent financial advisor who is confident can help you achieve your financial goals, such as planning for college or retirement. But a Christian financial adviser with a biblical worldview is really uniquely able to help you make financial decisions in harmony with the principles found in God’s Word. A Christian financial adviser will help you to listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.Another great example of this comes in our investing. A lot of Christians would like to invest in a way that aligns with their biblical values and not have profits in their portfolio coming from industries that violate them.WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN AN ADVISEROf course, being a Christian isn’t enough. It’s important to understand the qualifications of an adviser before taking their advice. One way to be sure about the competence of a financial adviser is to seek out a Certified Kingdom Adviser. On today’s program, Rob also answers listener questions:

● How do you determine how best to proceed with bringing a mortgage forbearance current? ● When does a real estate investment trust make sense? ● When does it make sense to use investment funds to pay off credit card debt? RESOURCES MENTIONED:

● Christian Credit Counselors
