I was Initially irked to hear this series features dramatisation, but my fears quickly faded. The scripted drama compliments the factual research nicely.
I make no apology for finding c̲e̲r̲t̲a̲i̲n̲ facets of Anna's psychology inspiring. Yes, her choices are morally questionable. Yes, she demonstrated stunning manipulation. That said, her focus, ingenuity & commitment to a goal is surely to be praised. Or is it?
This taut, meticulously-produced series has an standout soundtrack that although providing a memorable identity, never felt intrusive necessarily.
Tense, gripping and moreish... this was my first taste of audio drama, and I'm officially sold.
Journalist & Narator Vicky Baker was A+ throughout this. Perfect blend of detachment & personal fascination.
Great look into how one woman conned so many people for so long. Really amazing the things she did, the lies she told, and how she was able to get away with it (for a time). I thought the reenactments were a little cheesy, but overall a good listen. Looking forward to the Netflix adaptation!
