HindsSince opening our doors August 2011, we have helped families from eviction; provided weekly support group therapy to our communities; fed the poor; encouraged and supported those who needed financial support; and taught others to recover their self-esteem and self-worth.Gratitude and appreciation must be given to all my partners, friends, and well-wishers who have stood by Family In Distress throughout the year. To you I say “Thank you!”“You can have everything in life you want if you’ll help enough other people to get what they want!”Zig ZiglarBe Empowered…Very little will change, unless YOU with God’s grace and mercy Change it!CEO Message:A special message from Ms. Cheryl White, CEO/PresidentIn 2013, you now have the ability to make a difference, and by doing so you can bring beautiful and fulfilling things to life. Let go of any anger or resentment that keeps you mired in the past, for the past is over. Let go of any empty wishes or fears about what might or might not happen someday, because someday is not a real time. Now is the time that is real and the time that is yours, and with it you can do whatever you choose. Now is when you have immense power over the direction of your life, so use that power wisely and joyfully (Ralph Marston). It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. What words are you saying as you go through life? How have you impacted the lives of those God placed in your path? A young preacher Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave a speech that has lived on long after he went home. His speech is regarded as one of the best speeches in modern American history, and that picture is priceless. So, who will lead a 21st Century movement that continues to inspire people around the world to actively engaged in the struggles for equality, justice and freedom? How will you help to lead and inspire others to keep hope alive when all is lost?We we will continue to grow and strengthen our region, and will maintain the course of helping those who need us; we are our brother keepers and will work within our communities to fight for the American dream…for we are one nation under God!Let’s remember our intellect, smarts, monetary gains, love of music and dancing, will not live on after we are gone. Only our willingness to engage in the smallest details of our lives and to give with generosity to others. But, let’s do more than just give. Let’s make a positive impact on at least one person’s life! Imagine what we can do in a day! I hope that you will join me in following the greatest teaching of all times…LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF! Thank You. Sincerely,Cheryl White CEO,Family In Distress
