Gemma Files

Born in England and raised in Toronto, Canada, Gemma Files has been a film critic, teacher, and screenwriter. Probably best known for her weird Western Hexslinger series (A Book of Tongues, A Rope of Thorns, and A Tree of Bones), she has also published two short fiction collections, two speculative poetry chapbooks and a story-cycle (We Will All Go Down Together: Stories of the Five-Family Coven). Five of her stories were adapted as episodes of Showtime’s The Hunger, an erotic horror anthology series produced by Tony and Ridley Scott. Her latest novel is Experimental Film.
