1:46

some time with my best

1:48

friends minus one minus one,

1:50

well plus one degrees degrees

1:52

and still their friend. But

1:54

yes, Mike Unfortunately, still. Down.

1:56

With the sickness. Now. Yeah.

1:59

He got. I mean we send it on.

2:01

The foot Gas got began as he got prideful.

2:03

He didn't think he could get sick. No, no

2:05

he was. He started talking like that. Now

2:07

January he was like I may

2:10

impervious the I came back from

2:12

Columbia in January had cove gave

2:14

it to you. Oh not Mike.

2:16

Know. My my yet it my own. oh

2:18

no he was I gag I can't even

2:20

get this. I got tattoos I can get

2:22

look out of I am look how mars.

2:24

S.

2:35

At. That was the most

2:37

ill timed thing I've ever seen in

2:40

my life. I thought we'd on technical

2:42

difficult. Okay so let's let's is what

2:44

we were missing. Oh, I was on

2:47

a roller right now. My dad. so

2:49

much material ready to go. And

2:51

then. Apparently.

2:54

I'm. Guessing that the Deuces were like

2:56

all brotherhood this degrees thing and they

2:58

were so excited to pull out this.

3:01

whatever just happened, I don't know what

3:03

just happened, I'm honest, I just i

3:05

muted is might. You. Ah

3:08

yes, your Meta degrees is my

3:10

ear. And. That's right in the

3:12

middle of our funny they have this

3:14

is a day drug problem to watch

3:16

yourself. Watch. I'm telling you

3:18

right now on there are at a bar hundred animals

3:20

out there. Yeah I will go get knocked, poisonous, eat

3:22

if I gotta do it. Well that's of death a

3:24

weird one. but yeah. I

3:27

was the other because of are born oct was is

3:29

weird ah. I'm. Sorry

3:31

everybody, this is ah this

3:33

is an actual special episode.

3:35

It really genuinely and because

3:37

we have. Our

3:40

overreactions For Twenty Twenty Four. We're gonna bring up

3:42

a couple of things that we think the fantasy

3:44

football community. Will. Be

3:46

overreacting to as the going to draft

3:48

season. But. We

3:50

also have a very special guests on the show

3:52

today. The. Specialist.

3:55

In my mind. Genuinely.

3:59

There. Is got a human being on

4:01

the planet? I. I'm guessing

4:04

that you would rather talk to. Than.

4:06

The one we're talking to today. He is. An.

4:09

Icon of sorts for you. Yes,

4:12

Ah, As a man, as a

4:14

player, As a local yeah Euro? guess.

4:16

The. One only, Kurt Warner is pretty cool.

4:18

I'm I'm excited for you like I'm excited.

4:21

I Love Kurt Warner. He's one of my

4:23

all time favorites, but I know. For.

4:25

You this is. this is like that.

4:27

You know what I say? This is

4:29

a January eighteenth, two thousand and nine

4:31

Nfc Championship Game. Greatest. Sports

4:33

memory of my life mind to you.

4:36

were there. I was there. Michael's their

4:38

y'all know where Cardinals fans. Were.

4:40

A long suffering bunch, but Kurt Warner brought.

4:42

Redemption. To the valley. Oh

4:45

a moment in the sun and

4:48

are also you know not only

4:50

Hall of Famer. But.

4:52

Hall of Fame analyst and we wanted to talk to without

4:54

some of the. Reactions. Overreactions

4:57

with. A rookie

4:59

quarterback class were six players were

5:01

dropped in the top twelve. And.

5:04

So we will discuss that later on

5:06

the show. Very,

5:08

very excited to do that. Like is I mean we've

5:10

had. Hall of

5:12

Famers on the show. Before we've had had

5:15

pattern homes on the show yeah, we've had

5:17

a ton of incredible, legendary guess. This.

5:19

Is the peak for me because. Everyone.

5:22

Has their like, how does it feel to know

5:24

that there is nowhere to go but down from

5:26

here for you like there isn't a someone else

5:29

to repeat. Yeah.

5:31

I mean a if is Larry wanted to

5:33

come on. I wouldn't complain know but like

5:35

that's it I've been still have this is

5:37

the pig. You know it's I'm walking away.

5:39

This is Everest and now it's It's very

5:41

exciting and. On. I think

5:43

it'll be a very fun conversation and I have some fun

5:45

things to bring up. On. Top of the

5:47

our. Discussion. Of a

5:49

rookie. Quarterbacks will have to get Michael Keaton the come on

5:52

the So. But. That wouldn't be

5:54

so bad. Yes, ah but fun. So

5:56

today like a set of reactions to

5:58

Kurt Warner view and then. A

6:00

reminder: the Ultimate Draft Get comes out on

6:02

June First that that is very soon. It

6:04

is almost out. We are weeks away. I

6:07

know we are about two thirds done with

6:09

all the standing behind the scenes. It's. The.

6:11

The new stuff that we're bringing up is

6:13

great and you only have a couple weeks

6:15

left. If you want to get preorder pricing

6:18

right now, the Dynasty Pass is out. The

6:20

best ball rankings are out, the rest comes

6:22

out in June first, but it is still

6:24

preorder pricing right now. What do you? what?

6:26

I love the or I am remember a

6:28

what what Al did back there with that

6:30

drop. Is. Is frightening. I'm.

6:32

A little thought off. it was surprising, and

6:34

I know that there's some effort that was

6:37

put in by somebody to make that happen.

6:39

Yeah. And I was just. you know, timing

6:41

is hard if not every time he is

6:44

timing as we make it look easy right?

6:46

But like you know, the guys back there

6:48

were there weren't it'll of making fun of

6:50

my one of my favorite things to do.

6:52

A fundamental part. I was about to break

6:55

up his forehead like I was reading Royal

6:57

Fair. I mean right there, right?

6:59

Yeah, it was a big area to

7:01

land and now man, they missed the

7:03

runway. Maybe later on the shelf. A

7:05

quick question of the day. Ah, this

7:07

one comes from Instagram. From.

7:10

The Doc Holliday. Who.

7:12

Will be a more valuable asset this

7:14

year. and fantasy it's to interesting names.

7:17

T. Higgins. The

7:19

fun Digs: Yeah.

7:21

That was. This. Will

7:24

be very very interesting. The

7:26

whole. Houston Texans wide receiver

7:29

corps is going to be one

7:31

where. People. Are

7:33

going to call or different sorts. And

7:35

not everyone can be right. There.

7:38

Will be value to be had there. And.

7:41

It's. And Co literally any of the

7:43

three like Tank dell. Stefan.

7:45

Digs: Nico Collins. You could sort

7:48

of in any order: Point.

7:50

Two of them, very likely to have huge.

7:54

Season. Yet and and honestly that's the

7:56

hope is that you have to have them

7:58

with you'd seasons because right now my prom

8:00

one is, I've got three of them. With.

8:03

Good. Season. So what that means is that

8:05

none of them have great season. So I

8:08

was very open to the idea that may

8:10

be fun digs could have a resurgent year

8:12

on the foot cast. Somebody brought up the

8:14

fact that oh, is he gonna be this

8:16

year's Mike Evans where he's undervalued because he

8:19

changing while ever since he sees a chance

8:21

quarterbacks. And. I was open

8:23

to that possibility. I did not in there. When I looked

8:25

at my. The. Stats that I

8:27

put in I I have Cj started seven.

8:30

So. See this route, don't have a down

8:32

here from CJ stroud, what why do you while you

8:34

hazy distraught of gum at six, oh, do you, yeah,

8:36

I? That. Means he's probably

8:38

I don't love it Six and I would

8:40

probably be the difference. Yeah, But.

8:42

Tank Dell, Nico Collins I have as top

8:45

twenty four receivers, nice digs outside of that

8:47

group and thirty two so. There's

8:50

a new contract riddled salts, there's a

8:52

great pass catching weapon and Joe Mixon

8:54

there are. A. Lot of things

8:57

to consider their and I am a little bit worried. That.

9:00

The Find digs after finishing the second

9:03

half of the season as the seventy

9:05

sixth best fantasy wide receiver in football.

9:08

Might. Be closer to entering his Odell

9:11

Beckham one year deal stage of career.

9:13

Then. The. Resurgence

9:16

that we saw from a Mike Evans

9:18

or. I'm the type of. Amenities,

9:20

teams and explode like John Hopkins

9:22

that in his prime Going to

9:24

Arizona. I'm. Just not confident

9:26

of that. And I am I, the Cj Stroud.

9:30

Is. A heck of a quarterback. I

9:32

don't think he's the kind of quarterback this gonna get

9:34

bullied into targeting somebody that. Isn't.

9:36

Making a difference on the team, And.

9:39

This is not a situation like in in Buffalo.

9:42

You could argue that digs gonna get his going

9:44

to make sure it's known in the locker room.

9:47

That's what you gotta do on. There weren't

9:49

other great options there either. Correct.

9:51

And we know he loves think as he

9:54

just loves think loves think that you. I

9:56

hope you listening find someone in your life.

9:58

That. You love as much as. Tj Stroud loves Tank

10:01

Dell and this is essentially a one year

10:03

deal. So have you? Don't you cause a

10:05

problem? You don't contribute the

10:07

way that we need you to contribute. Guess what?

10:09

We made the playoffs and we didn't last year

10:11

without you. That's the view that I am take

10:13

and they did it without Think Dell. At.

10:15

The end of the year. So you get those guys back. That.

10:18

Is a long way of answering to have yet

10:20

to your guns as the answer I guess for

10:23

both of us. T. Hagens is in his own

10:25

right. Quite a conundrum

10:27

he came in last year. He was almost

10:29

a top twelve drafted wide receiver who was

10:31

on a was like that twelve thirteen rains.

10:34

And. Deservedly so from what you saw

10:36

on the field prior to that. The.

10:39

Issue now is been he has not been able to stay

10:41

healthy. He. Pull you know he missed a couple

10:43

of games, but really, he missed. You. Know the

10:45

other two games last year where he had a. Very.

10:48

Few snaps and basically didn't play.

10:51

When. He is out there active on

10:53

the field with a healthy Joe burrow which

10:55

honestly I don't know that we really saw

10:57

that last year. He's. A dominator.

10:59

He is a really really good you

11:01

can always a top fifteen wide receiver.

11:04

They. Lost Tyler Boyd. And

11:07

Joe Mixon. And I think thirty

11:09

Higgins has an awesome season is probably going

11:12

to be a draft a value because I'm

11:14

guessing he's gonna be some drafted somewhere in

11:16

the. You. Know the the mid twenties

11:18

at wide receiver. We.

11:20

Are. In.

11:22

Agreement. About T. Higgins,

11:25

They're. So. Savor it. I

11:27

don't plan on agreeing with you more than three four

11:30

times. Rest of the. That. The year

11:32

not the show though. the year. Wow. I'm

11:34

gonna try to get one more today. I'm

11:36

going to pull front load these agreements. I'll

11:38

give you a coupon. you can use it

11:40

on any argument though. I.

11:42

Some point in time you can actually bring me,

11:44

then I will. I will have it here under

11:46

the death and will someday argumentative. It For an

11:48

argument that see the eighth use of write This

11:50

Down there's a real thing I want that know.

11:53

And. I will use of sometime this year. Brahma,

11:55

I'm on the front loading that when the golden

11:57

to save in it. Oh yeah oh if I

11:59

were in us at a thing the argument you're

12:01

busted. I'm going to wait until there's one that

12:03

we both really believe our know where. I believe

12:05

it and I believe you're wrong. but you know

12:07

I'm wrong. And amo fumble? make you

12:09

take over? Do says, get that, keep on

12:11

reading or and dumb do that instead of

12:14

whatever you're doing with that cigarettes. Are

12:18

right into the news legal. News

12:22

and notes from around the league. I'm

12:27

pretty sure the zebra song was good. I

12:29

just could not appreciate it because it was

12:31

like being hit in the face with a

12:34

manhole cover on the show is just so

12:36

it was like. The it was I

12:38

have a kids Etti Mckissick drop Right. It was

12:40

like they were waiting for their moment of forgot

12:42

to wait. Tables were

12:44

like oh there's gonna be good but I can't wait

12:46

for the right. Right

12:48

out about it. Now the drop out a countdown on

12:50

it and you are going to be ah the hit

12:53

it if you didn't hit it before zero. On.

12:56

Both. Are

12:59

ice in less? Ah. Exciting

13:01

news. So. What

13:04

are we doing here? man? The Chiefs

13:06

Wide Receiver Rusty Rising. He's.

13:08

Under investigation for it in alleged nightclub

13:11

assault. Now I believe this was in

13:13

Dallas. This is. It's

13:15

not good. You know there hasn't

13:17

settled on this whole multi vehicle

13:19

crash. Suspense. Now you're seeing

13:21

some of the dust coming off

13:24

of the scouting reports to talk

13:26

about Rusher I says off field

13:28

issues and is problematic the some

13:30

teams to come up their board

13:32

so. It's. Not a good luck

13:34

the Nfl from from what I

13:36

hear from other insiders and looks

13:38

like the Chiefs are. Still,

13:41

Preparing to lose a significant. You're.

13:43

Not a large chunk of games here for us

13:46

your eyes and it's it's unfortunate has received was

13:48

coming into a situation here where. He

13:51

could have developed into the Do this year

13:53

early often and I'm a thousands of now.

13:55

The I don't know if that factored into

13:57

grabbing Xavier worthy make maybe did. Maybe it's

13:59

like well I don't know, we've got a

14:01

trade up and we gotta have another waters

14:04

around the roster. Maybe because it only the

14:06

draft him or they get someone a little

14:08

bit later if they don't have anything over.

14:11

Rusty. But. It's. It's

14:13

not a good luck and it's it's just

14:15

not wise like it. It while that's not

14:17

knucklehead problem this as art and would say

14:19

the of is a dynasty problem. Now. It's

14:22

not just a dynasty problem in as much as all

14:24

what's he gonna give it a suspension? It's.

14:26

A dicey prom and like, what headline does

14:29

he make next. There. Is some

14:31

concern there like that? I'm. Not saying

14:33

he's irredeemable. I'm. Just saying that you

14:35

have them the fundamental change of in the middle of.

14:38

Trying to let the dust settle your.

14:41

Engaging in a an alleged nightclub

14:43

assault, Before. You can even

14:45

lay low like this is from a

14:47

fantasy football perspective. I'm a summer heat,

14:50

which is this. You. Don't care.

14:52

While the these things won't matter, they

14:54

won't. Lead. The Omaha Neb I do.

14:56

They already have. A I'm my. Point

14:58

is if he's good on the field. He.

15:01

Will get back on the field. And. He will get

15:03

paid. He will get a contract to get the ball. And.

15:06

So what he what happens off the field?

15:08

maybe it has an effect in like the

15:10

the exact you're worthy. Situation.

15:12

Where. Maybe. They work in other

15:14

targets, but the truth is talent wins out

15:16

on the Nfl field regardless of off field

15:18

issues. There. Was a point in time

15:20

or we thought Tyreke it was never going to

15:22

play football again because of his off field issues.

15:24

And that's when the Chiefs. You. Know reached

15:26

for Mccall hard when and they weren't

15:28

sure. Now Tyree kills spent the last

15:31

couple years being ill. He's the number

15:33

three pick at worst in your fantasy

15:35

football draft. So. We had

15:37

a big disparity in our rankings of how many

15:39

targets with our erases even going to get this

15:41

year. And I am of

15:43

the opinion that as you work yourself off

15:45

the field with an off the field incidents

15:47

and the team has success without you on

15:50

the field. That.

15:52

Your. Role could diminish your depends

15:55

it depends you want players.

15:57

That. The seemed depends on for products.

16:00

That is all I'm saying. and if. Rice.

16:02

Is not dependable. You.

16:04

Can build an office without the homes

16:06

and you don't need yeah but sky

16:08

more and could various. Tony and Just

16:10

and Ross aren't going to take advantage

16:12

by our ombre to worthy Well. I

16:15

can, Hollywood Brown my yeah I in the nose

16:17

or players that can start every snap. Yeah.

16:20

But that they're going to be improve her see resets. I

16:22

think they need one more guy here to push her again.

16:24

They don't have it. Why? I

16:26

would need so you projecting. A

16:29

grassy rice last year, we had a good season. Seventy

16:31

nine for nine, thirty eight, and seven. And he. As.

16:34

Early as erupted. Cel really was not that involved

16:36

in the first half of the or wasn't until

16:38

after their bye week that. He. Started

16:40

getting utilized more being relied upon

16:42

more. Yeah. Yeah,

16:44

it'll be. It'll be a weird season for those

16:46

v the have Reiser Gonna be waiting to find

16:48

out what the final verdict is on. A.

16:51

Suspension. Ah, We're

16:53

talking about he higgins former running mate Tyler

16:55

Boyd signs a one year contract with the

16:57

Titans. He he. Relates. Real

17:00

real name he unites. See.

17:02

That's the moment to hit that draw. When.

17:05

I screw something up and we need to distract

17:07

or like it when you stop talking. To

17:17

The Owls A it's gotta five years he's

17:43

17:45

coaches talk about the slot role and they'd need

17:47

someone to step up and they're excited. I write

17:49

a lot and that's who they have. Rather like

17:51

how Phillips has a great chance he sorts of

17:54

classes tell Phillips's who really takes us on The

17:56

chin timelapse was cut from my nice it in

17:58

Good veteran wide receivers for will lead

18:17

What I'm most excited: maybe for the

18:21

because Will let us has the opportunity

18:23

18:25

18:29

Would. Probably, but nobody on Twitter said

18:31

the Tides Wide Receiver Corps is like

18:33

18:35

I thought I was very funny because ridley.

18:38

He's. Been through to cycle the teams Hopkins

18:44

20:17

right in the middle of when I'm. With

20:22

you screw off a governor do which.

20:29

I enjoy the shelf this video games

20:31

I'd say I will say this I

20:34

know when they wouldn't with up and

20:36

sorts of my fiverr events of today

20:38

by the events of today and then

20:40

20:45

is that when they play that drop

20:47

for the audience listening if you're not

20:50

on. You. Tube Watch on Youtube

20:52

Out the A Youtube.complexity Fantasy Footballers.

20:55

It's. It Jake Risk aptera. He got close

20:58

up. But. That means you

21:00

couldn't see ambulance face is going

21:02

to move. Just said. But I

21:04

know that we have other cameras

21:06

recorded or fix our opponents or

21:08

looks or during that moment and

21:10

will try to get that on

21:12

social. Oh right looking at a

21:14

weed shows I believe to overreactions. Yes

21:16

last year you had a home run

21:19

well did are overreacting to the as

21:21

and really I'm setting you up for

21:23

your first one here because last year.

21:25

You. Causing us to not. Overall,

21:27

he was Baltimore wasn't It was

21:30

the Dallas Cowboys off since. Getting.

21:32

Rid of Kellen Moore wanted to run

21:34

the ball more. I don't worry about,

21:37

you know, not throwing the ball enough

21:39

and lo and behold, Ah

21:41

did our for i get out was a

21:43

he was all right at the quarterback city

21:45

lamb a Sikh wide receiver up. Sex.

21:47

Notes: One. As so Yeah,

21:49

the passing game was okay. And

21:52

now here you go with. Really? Months

21:54

very similar situation Similar A Don't

21:56

overreact and I and I think

21:58

it's appropriate because. What made

22:00

the cowboys? Such

22:03

a big part of the

22:05

fear. their overreaction last year

22:07

was because how fun it

22:09

was. To. Simply React.

22:12

To. The Cowboys. It's fun and

22:14

so we've got that position right here.

22:17

It's fun to assume this and over

22:19

react to it. Which. Is the

22:21

fact that. You're

22:24

going to have Jim Harbaugh and the

22:26

High T Our fence and Greg Roman.

22:29

Befuddle. And destroy just and herbert

22:31

as a fantasy football option. And.

22:34

Not have any fantasy value pop up in the passing

22:37

game. This. Is our

22:39

favorite narrative. Last year it was like you

22:41

said, Mike Mccarthy he wants to run the

22:43

football Scoreless Boy, You're buying Carolyn more and

22:45

we're gonna run it. And I'm gonna call

22:47

the plays and is going to ruin everything.

22:51

I we have. I heard this a long

22:53

time ago from. What

22:55

was that? I did the Isaiah Crowell. Well, Was.

22:58

It? Who's the Cleveland Head Coach?

23:00

I'm that's. Amazon. Marvin Lewis.

23:02

but it's ah, marvelous. Hue Jackson

23:04

is your favorite Saw any look. It's the

23:06

Nfl like you can want the run it

23:09

more. But. That. And and

23:11

go And he's going to do. I mean like

23:13

Greg, Roman, and Harbaugh and this team is going

23:15

to become more high tea. But. You

23:17

know who was hired see as well? The.

23:20

Detroit Lions. And. That was an

23:22

explosive passing game. It's about efficiency and it's easy.

23:24

As fancy player a swing the pendulum too far.

23:26

We want an edge. We want an opportunity to

23:29

say we know what's going to happen and going

23:31

to be different than what people expect. And so

23:33

we're going to lean and in one direction. And

23:36

we forget that. Just And Herbert is

23:38

a. World. Beater at the position.

23:40

In fact he was the quarterback one and points

23:42

per game through six weeks last year Jason he

23:44

was are. You. Know you are a

23:46

big sent him going into the see any use.

23:48

He was averaging twenty three and a half ansi

23:51

points a game. Almost completing seventy

23:53

percent of his passes. It.

24:00

Didn't much matter what, didn't much matter where he

24:03

they lost. They lost Williams early last year. anywhere.

24:05

If Elite and I as I see what

24:07

you're saying you saying in this Aussie their yes,

24:09

there are things stacked up against. Our.

24:12

Ability in our brains to see what's

24:14

going to happen and when that happens,

24:16

we overreact. We. Don't. Have

24:18

the recipe of the resurgence of Just

24:20

and harbor and which receivers the one.

24:23

And because of that. Of.

24:25

Fog. It's. Easy

24:27

to take the easy well and say it's

24:29

a gust boss and it's in. It's four

24:31

passes a game and they're just going to

24:33

grind it out. I

24:36

think one of the things that helps your argument there.

24:39

Is. Talent. Matters.

24:42

When. You say you want to run the ball like

24:44

teams are like I've word run the ball so much.

24:46

Well when you're down a lot in the fourth quarter because

24:49

you don't have a good team. You.

24:51

Can't you have to throw it? And. So it's

24:53

like. The. Opposite is true. The.

24:55

Reason The Cowboys ended up throwing the ball

24:57

so well last year. Because

24:59

they have Cd, learned that process. get good

25:02

options. Do that. Doesn't Herbert's a great

25:04

quarterback Used to six you don't you don't

25:06

have, Doesn't harbor and be like. Ah,

25:09

Less I use of it's third and eight. We're

25:11

gonna run the ball because I love testosterone. Let

25:13

let me just from let me throw some numbers

25:16

of that are gonna be kind of interesting to

25:18

you. Are Russell Wilson.

25:21

Four. Hundred and fifty two attempts weren't

25:23

eighty three attempts. Four hundred, twenty seven attempts.

25:25

Five hundred and sixteen attempts. These.

25:27

Were years in Seattle. Where.

25:30

And he wasn't like he was rushing for a

25:32

hundred yards. In these years, who's running for three

25:34

hundred? which is in the realm of possibility for

25:37

just and Herbert in a Greg Roman office. He.

25:39

Was finishing as the quarterback one the quarterback

25:41

for the quarterback five. You. Need

25:44

efficiency? You need a touchdown rate.

25:46

That. Is higher than the league average and

25:48

Greg Roman. We have a lot of data

25:50

to look out for years in San Francisco

25:52

to and Buffalo for in Baltimore. Here's what

25:55

we know about Greg Roman: They're. Going

25:57

to win football games. Because.

25:59

He was doubled. The wins in like six or

26:01

the ten years he was an animal's. I

26:04

think one. Below. Five hundred year. So.

26:06

The gonna win games. The going to

26:09

be very low and pass attempts. I'm

26:11

not fighting that narrative. But. The

26:13

Average: such down percentage for his quarterbacks as

26:15

five point three percent over a ten year

26:17

span, as well above the league's average. Herbert's

26:19

last couple of years he's been lower. He's

26:21

been a three point six, and four point

26:23

four in that office. And.

26:26

You. Know if you're thrown five point three percent

26:28

just given the average which by the way,

26:30

Lamar had a nine. A six point nine.

26:33

He's had some higher years. You.

26:36

Need efficiency. From. Just and

26:38

Herbert. If your office moves the

26:40

football and you have opportunities to throw it.

26:43

Into. The end zone. Ah I

26:45

just think it's been a overvalued this idea

26:47

that the height he office is going to

26:49

destroy him. and if you are in a

26:51

four point passing touchdowns league and Heathrow twenty

26:53

five passing touchdowns and you run for three

26:56

which is something he has done before in

26:58

can do in. That. councils like

27:00

thirty passing touchdowns, I. Was really

27:02

surprised and ever service. I was really

27:05

surprised when. He ended up

27:07

in. He ended up in

27:09

my top ten. Quarterbacks: And

27:11

I was rose present. Part of that is the rushing volume

27:14

and I expect to happen. Because. You have.

27:16

Last. Year before he was injured. He.

27:19

Was actually on pace for three hundred

27:21

and twenty three rushing yards and four

27:23

point four touchdowns, so if you're told

27:25

me he. Three. Hundred And Fifty

27:27

Three Hundred seventy rushing yards and

27:29

four or five rushing touchdowns That

27:31

will apps that will make a

27:33

huge impact. On. Fantasy Football and

27:35

just Burt. You know, Contact.

27:38

Sake when I'm torn up as a numbers.

27:40

This was a player who when he finished

27:42

as the quarterback to. Had. Six

27:44

hundred and seventy two attempts. When

27:46

he was the quarterback eleven, he had seven

27:48

hundred attempts, steps in same and I'm telling

27:50

you, Russell Wilson put up top five numbers

27:53

with three hundred rushing yards. With.

27:55

Four hundred and seventy attempts or five and

27:57

and sixteen attempts of in a world of

27:59

efficiency exist. The National Football League. You're.

28:01

Going the it favors the passing game.

28:04

And. I just think of. That.

28:06

Is one of those situations where look at i don't

28:08

go to my rankings on June first and expect to

28:11

see doesn't herbert in the top five. It's.

28:13

About range of outcomes. It's about the upside

28:15

of a player. And not discounting

28:17

them out of value in the draft

28:20

when they could have a better than

28:22

expected. Also glad I'm a clunky is

28:24

so good mechanic. Can I ask you

28:27

Put press yes. You

28:29

have anything for me. I. Have

28:31

been given. Hey Ya is very quick

28:33

turnaround time. much as they're trying to

28:35

mix their it's Those Animators is a

28:37

trend a big gov the decade. I

28:39

have a very formal. As the

28:41

owner you are thought on some my camera here. We

28:44

have. We have a golden ticket. One.

28:47

Three And a hallway. agreements? Oh

28:49

now I. ah. This.

28:52

Is I mean I got one for Oregon like

28:54

all seat of have no but I've got a

28:56

photocopy must see his so not carry out the

28:58

or maybe I got want to to say that

29:00

on? yeah I'll save it for the right moment

29:02

and and it will be used the season. Accountable

29:06

for my room hill. You

29:08

off the figure out which of your bad arguments

29:10

you want me to agree with. Well let's start

29:12

with this bad argument. I'm gonna say let's not

29:15

overreact. To. Incoming rookies.

29:18

Impacting. Established Veterans.

29:21

More. Specifically. There.

29:24

Are. Elites. Running

29:26

backs that come in. And. Then there

29:28

are good running backs a come in. This

29:30

is a draft class that. Was.

29:33

You. Know talked about that. It was a really

29:35

really bad running back draft class. First.

29:38

Of all was bad because there weren't really the elites

29:40

of the leaves and there's not. There. Is

29:42

not obese on Robinson. There is not

29:44

a breeze hall. There is not a

29:46

Jonathan Taylor. There's not a Sikh one

29:48

Barkley. However, Jonathan.

29:51

Products. Did.

29:53

Go as the first running back off

29:55

the board. To. A situation

29:57

that wants to utilize his multi purpose

29:59

skill sets. He was. Him. And

30:02

tried Benson were at least the the two

30:04

best of this season in. My.

30:06

View ad they were the first

30:08

two drafted in the NFL view

30:10

as well, so I said Jonathan

30:13

Brooks out of this we've seen

30:15

recently where. The.

30:17

Second round when you're the first, the second running

30:19

back taken in your high in the second round.

30:22

The. A damning that it on a dialogue that

30:24

every song that the those guys were great. You.

30:26

We love them pre draft but running back position

30:28

as mattering lesson lesson so they they drop in

30:31

the draft so I see Down and Brooks's of

30:33

as a really good asset and fantasy and Dynasty

30:35

and all that. Is miles. Sanders and

30:37

to be Hubbard are not in comments that

30:40

you should be like. Well, they were so

30:42

good at that Their their job is cured.

30:44

I'm talking about guys like last. He's. Sad.

30:47

As easy in. Transit.

30:49

He has a very good running back. But. They spend

30:51

a day to pick round three. On.

30:54

Tank know or think that are nice

30:56

be think pigs be. Still,

30:59

Are you an absolute. World

31:01

class running back name. But

31:04

not a world class running back performance. The.

31:06

World class running back performance was travesty. t

31:09

ends when he finished as the running back

31:11

three on the year. Despite a day to

31:13

running back. We. Were also worried

31:16

about. Ah sorry been a I

31:18

mean I buy was very worried. I loved

31:20

seventies film and then. That. Day

31:22

to pick. On. Kinda

31:24

ceremony. So Kenneth Walker, who is

31:26

akin at seventy. I

31:29

sir, did I sort of those you're

31:31

having a little. I was on my

31:33

way. Troubles walker? Yeah, so I did.

31:35

I apologize. Zak. Yeah. It.

31:38

But. Can Mon Walker

31:40

the third. He was very good last

31:42

year. He missed couple

31:44

games, was still an Rb to look

31:46

good on the field. was clearly ahead

31:49

of sharpening carbonated and come in here

31:51

and overtake that role. You've got our

31:53

camera. Who. Another day to run

31:55

back injury Miller who it is very good. We

31:57

been talking about him as a great sleeper pick.

32:00

This year a great dynasty by low

32:02

right now. But. Com era was

32:04

fantastic. He was the running back six

32:06

from week for on what's got back

32:08

from his suspension. This.

32:10

Year we have the exact same thing

32:12

happening. The. Day two: Running backs who

32:14

are good. I'm not saying they're not.

32:16

I actually think tank pigs be. Was.

32:19

Good. I've tbd that that that looks

32:22

like an early L. Kindred Miller is

32:24

good and he just missed most of

32:26

his rookie season. Blake.

32:29

Poor I'm in a you like like warm. Very.

32:31

Much ah he gets day to draft

32:33

capital which is good. Round three. And.

32:35

So I think there's a lot of people that are like. Tyron

32:38

is. Not. Off

32:40

the board, but he just dropped tremendously.

32:42

They see us as a timeshare. By.

32:45

Cormac Twenty seven rushing touchdowns day to

32:47

running back is gonna come in here

32:49

and split time with Karen Williams. Tyron

32:52

Williams made this all since

32:54

work. Karen Williams was excellent.

32:58

This is a system that has

33:00

always employed a. Primary

33:02

back pretty much of one back

33:04

system. Note: No team outside of

33:07

the. You. Know that Christian

33:09

Mccaffrey, whatever team is on is a

33:11

true one back system. The closest thing

33:13

we've ever seen to that in recent

33:15

memory. Was. Actually, Karen Williams last

33:17

year and I don't think they

33:19

want to make him and ninety

33:21

five percent of snap player, but

33:23

if he's seventy percent, that's outrageously

33:25

high. And. I'm not worried about

33:28

current ones this year with like warm. Same.

33:30

With are just a cups they they

33:32

drafted Marshall Noida. Good back. And.

33:35

Day to adjust. A Cubs has the

33:37

money. He. Is the veteran, he's gonna

33:39

get the job. James Conner I love Robinson.

33:41

That's my running back one. James.

33:44

Conner has the job prevented as a come in

33:46

here and going to be in a fifty fifty

33:48

times here. And. And you know

33:50

even further like. Round. For you

33:52

had Jaylen Right and Bucky Irving. Guys

33:55

that. Some. People really liked

33:57

pre draft. So. You got really most

33:59

turned of on eighteen. You go? No, no Zealand

34:01

right? Going to really take things Wait? No. The

34:03

info meets depth. The. It's only backups

34:05

running backs can hurt is a good traffic.

34:07

All these are good draft picks. I think

34:09

all of those graphics were good. That.

34:12

Doesn't mean for fancy purposes. the

34:14

Karen Williams just jacobs James Conner

34:16

where he mostly dominates him. And

34:19

retard white take mass of hits. In fact I

34:21

would say they don't take. Any hit

34:23

because of the running back behind

34:25

them unless they themselves start to

34:28

suck. It's. A second year

34:30

of her Assad White doubters because last

34:32

year people wanted to makes on Tucker

34:34

thing. And it was restored white. It's

34:37

even it's easier them to write the narrative for

34:39

the back up or the day to where the

34:41

later pick. When. You don't necessarily loves.

34:43

The. Starter. But. I think

34:45

what people don't understand and we saw it. Jimmy

34:48

gives us a tough. He was picked ten. Or

34:51

twelve twelve ten twelve Whatever. Top

34:54

Fifteen picked. It. Took

34:56

him time to get under the football field

34:58

behind in Montgomery. was a disappointment for fantasy

35:00

managers early on in his talents to time

35:02

to have a you know. There's.

35:04

More to running the football. The running the football.

35:07

Does. That make sense. Yeah, Or

35:09

to being running back. been running the

35:11

football it pass blocking rapport with the

35:14

off and knowing what the teams are

35:16

doing. Like. These things, you don't

35:18

just hand that to Marseille. noise. He.

35:21

On day one, So. Odd.

35:24

You. Know handed to Marshawn Lloyd. In

35:26

week. Seven. Or eight when drastic

35:28

obsessed run for three point five occur. Yeah.

35:32

Tickets yet wine and you handed to Blade Quorum

35:34

as guidelines as a late around drop. It doesn't

35:36

look like a future because he flames out or

35:38

something, but. I. Just

35:40

don't overreact. I don't wanna be off of

35:42

these incumbents because there's another running back on

35:44

the team. There's always another own. Doesn't say

35:46

people need to make peace with the fact

35:48

that the depth chart at running back you're

35:50

not Cmc. Is messy. It.

35:53

Just this everywhere. It's messy in Miami

35:55

with multiple players that you love. Yeah

35:58

for. Sure, and I'm it happens. The

36:00

year. And there's been multiple years of Seattle

36:02

drafting a a running back. And.

36:04

What was it received any when Chris Carson

36:06

was there? So do you generally speaking agree

36:08

with this weekend I overreacted is running backs

36:11

on day two drafted. Ah,

36:14

overreact. I. Generally agree.

36:16

how can I can put the gun second?

36:18

Wales All boy. A decision spent quick if

36:20

you're bringer director. Or I we

36:22

got one more each. This.

36:24

One is it came out of

36:27

my. Project.

36:29

Rain Okay brain as well. But.

36:31

After doing player projections in preparation

36:34

for the Uk, this one you

36:36

would do to god's sakes Hit

36:38

Vicky. Yeah. Well I look

36:40

I stay water my friend We do

36:42

not like. Take. Lock I've

36:45

never been a D J More. Truth.

36:47

Or. But. Last year Dj

36:50

More was. Unbelievable. The

36:52

wide receiver six. The.

36:55

Over reaction that I fear is that.

36:57

He. Is going to suffer. This.

37:00

Season in a tremendous way. At the

37:02

hands of Keenan Allen, Roma Dunes and

37:04

Caleb Williams. Did you more?

37:06

was a dominant wide receiver one last

37:08

season. My. One of

37:10

my biggest surprises when I got done with the

37:12

season was seeing. Chicago's.

37:15

Wide receiver production. And

37:17

I've got Dj more sitting a wide receiver. thirteen.

37:20

So. It's not wide receiver sex, but

37:22

I haven't Well above Keenan Allen. I am

37:24

well above Roma Dunes a. And.

37:28

On a tell you why. The.

37:30

Best talent on the roster. This is a

37:32

twenty seven year old wide receiver. This.

37:34

Is somebody going a little bit later than the

37:36

wide receiver? Thirteen And baseball? Because the doubts are

37:38

out there. The reaction is out there. We like

37:41

Roma Dunes A We know what Keenan Allen did

37:43

last year, but Keenan Allen is an older. Player:

37:45

It's not explosive. Plays with Keenan Allen and that

37:47

is the name of the game for Dj More.

37:50

He. Is such a great sit. In

37:52

the pass heavy approach that they have

37:55

in Chicago now. I'm.

37:57

More three wide receiver sets where he was in.

38:00

Audible he was seventh in. A Wide

38:02

receivers in fantasy points for route run in three

38:04

wide receiver sets that the same as Aj Brown.

38:07

That. The headline at the top of the

38:09

not as the top of the stats here is

38:11

that. Dj. More is

38:13

an elite wide receiver. One. That's

38:16

the headline. And that roma do. They

38:19

as a rookie that's going to establish himself and

38:21

make some plays and a Keenan Allen is going

38:23

to live underneath. And. Probably not be targeted

38:25

the same way He was just and herbert at

38:27

this stage of his career. At this stage

38:29

of god you know, basically the last year of

38:32

his deal. And. So.

38:35

You. Know. They're. Going to see a lot of

38:37

three wide. With. Shane Waldron,

38:40

And. He was exceptional in that

38:43

situation, and I think a player like that

38:45

demands the targets. And. Will

38:47

establish himself. He's played with a million

38:49

different quarterbacks. But. The consistent part

38:51

a Dj more as you can A big plays. You.

38:53

Can a big yards after the catch blaze. And.

38:56

He has dominated on both of those, so. Look.

39:00

A Dunes A. D.

39:02

Plays He's Gonna Make on. I.

39:04

Think his future is very bright when Keenan Allen.

39:07

Likely leaves after the season. But.

39:09

This in my opinion. This.

39:12

Is the. This. Is one more year

39:14

for Dj more to be Zoc guy in Chicago and

39:16

I think it's hard for people to see that. You'd.

39:19

Said you disagree with me. But

39:22

I think the gym or has it law lock for

39:24

this entire season. Yeah. I

39:26

do have a hard time agreeing

39:28

with this simply because last year

39:30

Dj More was competing against Tyler

39:33

Scott as the wide receiver. Three

39:35

Taste Claypool. You know how Darnell

39:37

Moody and who represents the A

39:40

Doomsday style deep threat. I

39:42

you know do they can work in all three levels of

39:44

the feel, but I'm Donna. Money was the to. No.

39:46

Vaccine and Allen. A

39:49

and you've got. Rome do as I

39:51

so I I struggled with think that the target market share

39:53

will be. Good. Enough from a rookie

39:55

obviously. Caleb comes in and looks like see describe

39:57

last year when you're going to have club. See.

40:00

This crowd or is Caleb the.

40:03

Dj. More Keenan, Allen, Anna do they all

40:05

looking good? While we don't make arguments against

40:07

whom are taste because he has to higgins

40:09

entire board the last two years. And.

40:12

That's the frame of reference I'm looking

40:14

into. I'm saying that that Dj More

40:16

is a target The Mander. It.

40:19

His play on the feel, his separation

40:21

the big plays. He's a friend, a

40:23

quarterback he may just and seals look

40:26

good sometimes. That's a hard thing

40:28

to do. And Ras, but Keenan Allen as a

40:30

target demand or as well, Keenan Allen is just

40:32

a different receiver in every respect. So, but my

40:34

point is, they can't both get past the ball

40:36

so you just can't get you're not going to

40:38

have one of these guys at thirty percent target,

40:40

sir. I just can't fathom that unless one of

40:42

them gets injured. By. The I just

40:44

think with when you bring in a quarterback that's going

40:46

to fix the situation as much as. Cannabinoids

40:49

has the potential to. The

40:52

eyes of kill me lowly mistake. This is.

40:54

that's what it is. My target share his

40:56

twenty two percent twenty two point three for

40:58

the Dj more last year was twenty eight

41:00

percent. I. Have

41:02

Keenan Allen targets or twenty one point six

41:05

percent last year. and ah, in all alone

41:07

town and in with the Chargers, it was

41:09

twenty four percent. Gotta dunes at a respectable

41:11

sixteen point four as a rookie. So.

41:14

This is about. Ah, consolidation to

41:16

the best and yes a killer boy Hims take

41:18

that he can go out there and throw for

41:21

four thousand yards or around there. You're.

41:23

Not have enough time because the reason cease is

41:25

fine. We don't. Care. That he's

41:27

got the incident has had Tyler Boyd is because

41:29

go boroughs job burrow. And. If if I

41:31

knew for sure the Caleb Williams is going to come

41:34

in here and see to Stroud rookie or one I'd

41:36

be right there with. I really would if I was

41:38

going to put my tips on some player to be

41:40

the. That. Like if one

41:42

of these wide receivers has a really good season

41:44

soccer to be team announced they could dunk on

41:47

a one year contract As the elder statement. Eight

41:49

Miss Statesmen and it's probably not going to

41:52

be rome do as a coming in his

41:54

rookie it'll be the didn't work has he's

41:56

super athletic exposing I think he started know

41:58

these incentives that plant of. The territory

42:00

for I am more just. Got.

42:02

Pretty strong of makes and I'm still but it

42:04

like I like Tale of Williams a lot. I

42:07

think he's very very talented. And. I

42:09

believe he'll be a great. Quarterback, But

42:11

I'm still putting on history that rookie

42:13

year quarterbacks. Your your throne.

42:15

Twenty touchdowns. Your. Throw your

42:18

your your your throne you

42:20

know. Closer. To sixty

42:22

percent completion than sixty a precinct please your is

42:24

that you know rookie quarterbacks They they have they're

42:26

struggling of I told you that that super quarterback

42:29

that help Dc more the entire season through for

42:31

twenty five hundred yards and sixteen touchdowns last I

42:33

would revert you back to the argument of who

42:35

the other options were at the time. Because.

42:38

That doesn't always happen. Not enough, but twenty eight

42:40

percent targets. Here's what he had Lester Young as

42:42

there was no one of the haven't had to

42:44

Saints quarterback. There is sixteen touchdowns. While

42:47

the about that you want to break up a exits us as

42:49

if you tell me killings needed to twenty two to twenty four

42:51

How many games that he. Just

42:54

feels yeah, he miss four games and so he

42:56

didn't Just he could have almost got to three

42:58

thousand and twenty years old. You are right, We

43:00

disagree that that's an overreaction. I think that will

43:03

drive the gym or price down. And

43:05

everyone but Jason could take advantage of it.

43:07

So some what is your second overreaction. Yeah.

43:10

I will log. It's my second

43:12

reaction here. my second overreaction. Is.

43:16

To. Not Ah Lorena Are you losing

43:18

we went to break. Thank

44:51

you now what I wanted to talk about. Have

44:54

you been able to find your place? Oh yeah

44:56

dude my place was after the break. Yes. So

44:58

this is like clear where I come in. Don't

45:00

overreact to the break that is

45:02

you think is happening? Right, am I

45:04

right? Where were you ten minutes ago? It might

45:07

not happen. Yeah tell me afterwards. I

45:09

don't want to overreact and this one

45:12

I'm not sure if you'll agree with like you agreed with my last

45:14

one but I don't want to

45:16

overreact to guys who played

45:18

poorly last year due to injury. I

45:21

don't want to double count

45:23

the injury. Players that

45:26

we've done so many studies you

45:29

know we've got Matthew Betts he

45:31

updates his study every year he does so

45:33

much work in the injury sphere for

45:36

us where we look and see people

45:38

coming back from significant injuries usually

45:41

that's ACLs they are

45:43

not as good the first year back as

45:46

they are the second year back it takes players

45:48

to time to get back to

45:50

full strength to the same kind of statistical

45:52

metrics they were at prior to the injury

45:55

and so last year I want to

45:57

bring up some players That we saw. The.

46:00

Clock. But. They were

46:02

playing injured and I just want to make sure

46:04

we don't double counting. Jaunty.

46:06

Wants. To. Vote A

46:08

Williams. Was. Not supposed

46:11

to play to start last year. It.

46:13

Was. Off. Of our radar

46:15

that he was going to actually start, we

46:17

didn't believe it until all of a sudden

46:20

we hear oh he's going play in a

46:22

pre season Was like. No.

46:24

He's not know what that into that's impossible to

46:26

he would be back on that timelines. Lo and

46:28

behold he was out there and pre season. They.

46:31

Were they use them, they still loaded

46:33

em up with two hundred and seventy

46:35

five opportunities despite his and efficiency. But.

46:39

Remember how catastrophic his injury

46:41

was? We. Could

46:43

not possibly have expected him.

46:45

To. Come back off of that injury on that

46:47

timeline and really be good. Last year. Like

46:50

that would be such an alien this.

46:53

Outlier. Type of performance and I know,

46:55

like you say, all breeze or has no that

46:57

came to mind souls injury was nowhere near liked

47:00

about as we talked with. this isn't hindsight and

47:02

that's what I want to like. Remembers that this

47:04

isn't. This. Isn't something or only

47:06

saying now after the fact? This.

47:09

Was what we were saying before going into

47:11

the season last year. We weren't scared about

47:13

result we were terrified about Monty Williams, but

47:15

Avanti was when I did exactly what we're

47:17

terrified of. And there was a while he's

47:19

done. He. Sees you know is that

47:21

is just like he sought. There's a percent there's

47:23

a person is insidious. Yeah, and so. He.

47:25

Was injured he was an affair says you don't want to

47:27

double check out the injury because he still believes young enough

47:30

data. To. Come out and dog year

47:32

to. Absolutely So then I know you started

47:34

in that way I there are more than

47:36

I do. I was I was pretty bullish

47:38

because I. Because the

47:40

dup talk to me since he's gonna get the

47:43

opportunities against smiles A P. Ryan is nothing I

47:45

don't even have. He makes his roster. That

47:47

he like Peyton, likes Mclaughlin. That's that's.

47:50

fine. He gets his carries, he's got

47:52

some juice. And. They drafted are drug

47:54

test me and this time of year this

47:56

time of years I got a glass a

47:58

Roderick estimates. But. Happen after the year will

48:00

be like oh yeah, they drafted a fifth round running back.

48:03

That. Like the i remember the record that's where

48:05

I'm at our it was as you and

48:07

I didn't like ought to already and think

48:09

we might not here right? The he

48:11

actually thought that that I could move is

48:13

illegal there. You. Know I

48:15

saw. Peyton. Actually,

48:18

talk about. How

48:20

he liked how fast. Or

48:22

took us to me like. Is a quick

48:24

feet of like okay. Well,

48:27

me neither am I know better. did you watch

48:29

them? Anyways, this isn't

48:31

just a dunk on Audra Custom a

48:33

time. Other players that were coming back

48:35

off of injury that might have been

48:37

disappointing Last year Tyler Murray first year

48:40

back from a seal. he would not

48:42

expect him to be great. He also

48:44

did not have a great receiving corps.

48:46

But. Is seventeen game pace. Once you his

48:48

back was thirty one hundred and twenty two

48:51

yards passing with twenty one thousand touchdowns. Five.

48:53

Eighteen and six on the ground. He

48:56

was Cormac nine points per game from

48:58

week ten on first year back from

49:00

an A C L injury in this

49:02

office without any good weapons and I

49:04

believe during that time marquees browsing the

49:06

fourth target. Miss off it's you. basically

49:08

wasn't even around so would you say

49:10

all you. Eat. Your adding Marvin Harrison,

49:13

you're really not even subtracting Hollywood from what

49:15

we saw and in the last name. Again,

49:17

that these are these are overreacts Desert.

49:20

Is. Er de Monte wounds that the

49:22

people overreact and to Pilar Murray overreacting

49:24

And how pits. I know

49:27

it's a fun, crazy need to talk about every

49:29

single year because it's like much. But

49:31

this. Year It's Gonna happen. We.

49:34

Found out this is a little bit more hindsight. Because.

49:36

We question it during the year. Watson

49:38

him. They. Didn't like him so he

49:40

didn't look himself. We talked about it through the

49:42

season. It's like man this guy looks like up.

49:45

Looks like a Antonio Gates. Sometimes out there

49:47

especially is trying to make a cut but

49:50

carpets had an Mcl and Pcl injury that

49:52

he was struggling with. He. Had that and

49:54

then played through it all year. And

49:56

it looked bad. But. If he

49:58

is just now, turn. Twenty four years

50:00

old. I'm A. In fact,

50:03

he won't turn twenty four until

50:05

October. So start the season

50:07

at twenty three. He led all Titans and air

50:09

yards. Always does he gets

50:11

a quarterback upgrade The can make

50:13

those air yards near him right,

50:15

which is really really nice. Pits:

50:18

Ranked: Fourth in tight ends in

50:20

slot fantasy points and sloppiness points per

50:22

target. At at. You know

50:24

this is a better system coming in

50:26

a better quarterback and if what we

50:29

saw was a player year one from

50:31

a major injury last year. Then.

50:33

You have an opportunity that. Maybe.

50:35

That's just. He needs another

50:37

year to recover. We see it all

50:39

the time and this is this is

50:41

grounded in a analytics that year to

50:43

back from these big injuries. The players

50:45

are just better, especially when they're. When.

50:48

They're younger to Monty Williams color Murray

50:50

carpets. They are all young enough where

50:52

we can kind of excuse some of

50:54

what we saw last year. Because.

50:56

Of. The. Fact that they're human

50:58

beings coming off of a massive injury give

51:00

him another year. The. In none

51:02

of them lost their opportunity. Like.

51:05

None of them are not going to be given the

51:07

chance to be great. week one and I'm gonna say

51:09

I'm not going over x what we saw last year

51:11

on Those Guys are you three my guys. You want

51:13

to wounds customary tar you have heard it is yo.

51:15

heard it here. Yeah. I mean, I

51:17

did. There's a. Like you said,

51:19

there's a diverse seem buying like a stupid injury dip

51:21

on a player. On the backs of

51:24

in their career alla Allen Robinson switching teams

51:26

and you're like oh it's gonna be good

51:28

for. For. Him with a new

51:30

opportunity than it is. a younger player the

51:32

didn't lose an opportunity. That.

51:36

That. Stars lot of potential to shape as

51:38

and I'm glad you brought up the phrase

51:40

injury dip because. We. Said before like

51:42

don't buy the injury dip That's usually

51:44

a bad mistake, but the injury dip

51:47

is when a player is injured. And.

51:49

So he's dropping an Atp as I go.

51:51

Man, I'm going to get a value on

51:53

him, but you're drafting an injured dude? This

51:55

the exact opposite. This. Is finally drafting

51:57

a healthy dude? You're buying the health. It.

52:01

So. I want a i'd look at you said

52:03

I my not agree. I agree on the pits front.

52:06

I agree on the car the front. But.

52:08

Not on advantage from but not on the Germans. Are

52:10

you use know? I had already largest

52:12

flashes around You know so on. So.

52:15

Mad Stacks over here of yeah, it's good for

52:17

the pod. You

52:20

to.com size the Ah Yes

52:22

well. Ah, Ok

52:24

well without further do we do have a

52:26

more a conversation to be had a big

52:29

one and will talk some rookie quarterbacks. In

52:35

a Mace.

52:38

right? The fantasy footballers are excited

52:41

to welcome in Hall of famer

52:43

in Urban Legend local legend for

52:45

us. Not hard on your own

52:47

in Arizona. And. One

52:49

heck of an analyst Kurt Warner to the show.

52:51

Thank you Curve for joining us. Periodically.

52:54

For having me on I was good

52:56

to be able to sit down with

52:58

them Phoenicians and some are some guys

53:00

in the area that to that understand

53:02

the landscape of football here in Arizona.

53:04

So are going to be on? Yeah

53:06

yeah absolutely. You. Know

53:08

personal thanks for January eighteenth. Two thousand nine

53:10

the A whole we're all I did and

53:12

game. Oh yeah, but but let me subtle.

53:14

one thing here at the top. we wanted

53:17

to talk about some of these rookie quarterbacks

53:19

with you. And. And get

53:21

some thoughts at the position you

53:23

know where? Fantasy Football podcast were

53:25

fanciful podcast. And I'm

53:27

you know, Every fantasy

53:29

Football players eager to find that next.

53:31

Great. Quarterback, so talk about that.

53:34

but at the top. I

53:36

just wanna make sure we're all in a

53:38

complete consensus agreement. Santonio.

53:41

Holmes did not get both feet down. We agree.

53:44

As by you know those are

53:46

things I'm never gonna agree on

53:48

whether it whether he got that

53:51

other. So down the throw the

53:53

judge the effort. Was.

53:55

Just incredible. You as is one of those

53:57

blaze that you just. You know you gotta

53:59

to. Your had go Come on mate. You.

54:02

Know begs you to never thrown at. We have

54:04

three guys in the area. yeah, Jaune Yoshida. Never

54:06

been close to catching it. Yet. You.

54:09

Know made the perfect drought, made the catch.

54:11

You know whether that tells great that the

54:13

term are not? Ah yes I oh really

54:16

now. But it was one act of an

54:18

effort because. We're. Sitting here and we

54:20

can't definitively say whether he touched it or

54:22

not, which to me makes it close enough.

54:24

We're in a moment like that, where you

54:26

gotta you gotta give your and give it

54:28

to your a better man. The Be Kirk

54:30

as I know the truth is not as

54:32

I said. I'm ten fifteen years away from

54:34

accepting at some get in there is down

54:36

but I'm. Not. Like I said, this

54:38

is a fantasy football so I am curious before we

54:41

talk about some of those rookies. I'm.

54:43

What's your relationship? Been. Like

54:45

with the Fantasy Football. World.

54:48

Whether in you're playing days or as

54:50

the Nfl and the Fantasy game has

54:52

evolved, Or in your time Since since

54:54

leaving the Nfl. Ah probably

54:56

love hate the an hour in terms

54:58

of fantasy. yeah I have played in

55:00

a numerous size, played in leagues with

55:03

the i'm a family a and and

55:05

some friends and and what have you

55:07

near plate and some bigger celebrity. Least

55:09

yet the only problem I have with

55:11

fantasy football because first and foremost it's

55:13

awesome for a game. And.

55:16

It's awesome for work. The fact that he

55:18

would get so many stands that by year

55:20

that may not be what I would

55:22

call a die hard fan. You know, watch

55:25

no matter what, have their team with a

55:27

good engage and they become fans of our

55:29

game. And they become fans of our players

55:32

and they take in the game to

55:34

another level because of. The. Fine

55:36

and the interaction of fantasy

55:38

football. I say love hate

55:40

because if you're more of a true

55:42

football fan, the problem for me is

55:45

when I watch it. And I'm

55:47

cheering for my fantasy team is as

55:49

opposed to watching it the way that

55:51

I would normally watch it and watch

55:54

it as a purist and enjoy. The.

55:56

Moments and enjoy the performances

55:58

of different guys. Now

56:00

it becomes our entire My guys on

56:03

the other team are all he's played

56:05

against. Instead of just men, I

56:07

was one heck of a run. right. Was

56:09

an unbelievable play. What a great team that

56:11

was and you get hung up with. did

56:13

I sort of points on my team? And

56:15

he doesn't. That's where I fight the battle

56:17

because I want to cheer for. Guys are

56:20

one. It's your for the game. I want

56:22

to watch it and enjoy the moment. And

56:24

I think sometimes fantasy football can. Can.

56:26

Take away from that aspect of

56:28

things are going on and also

56:30

think you know for a true

56:32

fan. meaning hey, I'm a diehard.

56:35

Such. And such I'm a direct the

56:37

Cardinals Me: I'm a diehard Steelers fans that

56:39

can also mess up your fandom a little

56:41

bit because you know well I want the

56:43

Cardinals the weird but I got two guys

56:46

on the other or my fantasy team so

56:48

I want them to score a touchdown. would

56:50

look at almost underscored success and in I

56:52

just kind of messes with your mind. but

56:55

ah you know and all I think it's

56:57

a great thing for our game continues to

56:59

build what our game is. I'm just more

57:01

as a pure football stay home. I wrestled

57:04

with the quite often. Ya. Know

57:06

that that makes sense and in this

57:08

show in particular. We. Do try to

57:10

focus on the entertaining aspects in the. The.

57:12

Way it accents the Nfl game even though

57:15

we know how how those realities can meet

57:17

sometimes. Oh yea, even personally it when I

57:19

was a season ticket holder go to the

57:21

games as I I hated when I had

57:23

someone plan against the Cardinals because it's like.

57:26

Ah, Want to win but let's move

57:28

as on like let's win by enough to

57:30

where my son can score a couple times.

57:32

Yes, right? Ah. We've. Been doing

57:35

up the today show's been all about overreaction. some of

57:37

the things that happened with the news in the off

57:39

season. We just had the

57:41

Nfl draft. Which. Was

57:43

spectacular and we had twelve quarterback

57:46

go. Or sorry, six quarterbacks go

57:48

on the top twelve picks. So.

57:51

You know, historically. Rookie: Quarterbacks:

57:54

From. A fantasy perspective. It's hard. To.

57:56

Trust them. In Year one, On.

57:58

There are growing pains. It seems like

58:01

five of the six are going to have

58:03

opportunities in year one. Of the the

58:05

one that. Likely on the

58:07

bench, Michael panics waiting on on Kirk cousins.

58:10

Time. In Atlanta, but. We've.

58:12

Also seen players like Cj Stroud. Are

58:14

just have Herber in years past have

58:16

very big statistical seasons right out of

58:19

the gate so. On. When

58:21

you look at that crop of incoming rookies,

58:24

Ah, Just curious if you think

58:26

the trend of of young rookies having

58:28

more of an impact. Is.

58:30

Going to continue and is that a

58:32

product of the way the game is

58:34

played? Now what do you think about

58:36

that situation? Yeah, I

58:39

mean yeah, I think there's two ways

58:41

to look at it is that. In

58:44

other words, nature of our game Now. You're.

58:46

Usually not that far away from success.

58:49

From. You know you look at Houston,

58:51

there's a team. It's pick and number two overall.

58:53

and so often times you see number two overall.

58:56

Seems. And you say oh gosh there

58:58

a long ways from haven't success in their

59:01

long way from their quarterback being able to

59:03

have success. That's not necessarily the case. Anymore

59:06

is that you know you can be

59:08

one year away with free agency or

59:10

the parity in our lead. From.

59:12

Being really, really successful. You

59:14

naughty Caleb Williams in a great situation as

59:16

well. They go up to weapons. Around

59:19

him given him an opportunity to put up

59:21

some numbers. You know whether their team wins

59:23

or not. Obviously fantasy football is and all.

59:26

You. Know based on that. So. You. Know

59:28

you've got some teams that have and some

59:30

young quarterbacks. It has some really good weapons

59:32

and players. Around them and the

59:34

nature of the league says okay, if

59:36

you've got players around you. You're.

59:38

Going to have a level of

59:40

success. It's just a matter what

59:43

level is that. And. You know,

59:45

I think that's the hard thing to always project for

59:47

many of these guys. Is. I always say

59:49

all these guys have to get better in the Nfl if they're

59:51

going to be great quarterback. None of them

59:53

can state and they were in college,

59:55

but I do think we've got some

59:58

situations. That lend itself to

1:00:00

you know, some of these young quarterbacks.

1:00:02

Having the opportunity. To. Have.

1:00:05

You. Know successful year by year fantasy

1:00:07

standards putting up numbers because of

1:00:09

some of the playmakers around on.

1:00:12

Yeah. I mean, we talked earlier about

1:00:14

Gg Mccarthy situation in Minnesota. You come

1:00:16

in do. You. Know a very productive

1:00:19

season from a rookie in Jordan Addison last

1:00:21

year he got just Jefferson obviously. A

1:00:23

play caller that I think is is very

1:00:25

trusted. You. Know out of those?

1:00:27

Maybe maybe take Caleb Williams out of the

1:00:29

list. But. Those other five

1:00:31

name's did you have a player there?

1:00:34

That's what she saw a film. Really

1:00:37

impressed you and and gave you the

1:00:39

impression that they get up early. Success!

1:00:42

At. Women: I think there's things to like about

1:00:44

all of these guys and you know so much

1:00:46

of it is fit. Situation.

1:00:49

You know, are they going to ask you to play

1:00:51

the game the way that you can play the game?

1:00:53

But I mean, if you just watched the tape from

1:00:55

a year ago in college football, me, Jaden Daniels was

1:00:57

spectacular. I. Mean, he was probably was

1:00:59

the best player even above Caleb in

1:01:01

my opinion in terms of. Yeah.

1:01:04

On the field. Last season he

1:01:06

played the best quarterback of anybody.

1:01:09

Again, I I don't know how that directly translates

1:01:11

because he's going to have to be better, but

1:01:13

with what I saw in the way he made

1:01:15

throws and incisions that he made and the fact

1:01:17

that he's a pocket passer and I think they've

1:01:19

got some. Really? Good weapons. I'm

1:01:21

in Washington. Ah, that. I think

1:01:23

he's got a chance to. To.

1:01:26

Have success Without a doubt. you

1:01:28

know Jj Mccarthy. You mentioned him

1:01:30

earlier mean. You. Know he's at

1:01:32

Tj Hawkins and yet you know Aaron Jones

1:01:34

two guys that can make the game easier

1:01:36

for a quarterback with short browse and a

1:01:38

work in the underneath areas along with. Arguably.

1:01:41

The best in wide receiver in the league

1:01:43

and a rookie as you said that Jody

1:01:46

could be a number one when Justin was

1:01:48

out last year. I. Love the weapons

1:01:50

around post for guys and they're all sense

1:01:52

of liner. Number One thing, you know our

1:01:54

first round pick so you know you look

1:01:56

at the guys up front and say okay

1:01:58

they got a pretty good mix. up front

1:02:00

too that can help their young

1:02:02

quarterback. Now I'll say this, you

1:02:05

know, of all the quarterbacks that we're talking about,

1:02:07

you know, he's the guy that is, you

1:02:11

know, less established, I guess you'll say in terms

1:02:13

of showing what he can be

1:02:15

on an every week basis, showing that he can carry

1:02:17

a team, showing that he can make

1:02:19

35 throws a game and be really successful

1:02:21

with it. We didn't get to see that

1:02:24

in college. But I do

1:02:26

think that the supporting cast in Minnesota

1:02:28

lends itself to say if he becomes

1:02:30

the starter, he's got an opportunity to

1:02:32

put up some really, really good numbers

1:02:35

because he's got pieces at every level

1:02:37

in every area to

1:02:39

allow you to complement one another and allow you

1:02:41

to have success. Well, let me ask

1:02:43

the opposite. So we didn't see a lot of JJ McCarthy

1:02:45

don't have a ton of film. We

1:02:48

saw 752 collegiate games from Bo

1:02:50

Nicks. We have 22 years of

1:02:52

him playing college football.

1:02:56

I'm really curious because this is the

1:02:58

player that from pre draft to

1:03:00

after round one, I kind of went back and

1:03:03

watched the tape and I'm trying to look at

1:03:05

how he fits in, you know, the system

1:03:07

there for Peyton and all of that. And I have

1:03:10

not actually seen your take on Bo Nicks. I'm sure

1:03:12

you've said it a million times, but I'm curious from

1:03:14

your perspective, right? This is a guy who's about

1:03:17

preparation and timing and, you know, the on

1:03:19

time accuracy, which reminds me a lot of

1:03:22

like how you were as a player and

1:03:24

most of the people that I've seen are like

1:03:26

second round grades on Bo Nicks. Obviously

1:03:29

that wasn't Sean Payton's, but what is Kurt

1:03:31

Warner's? What was your pre draft grade on

1:03:34

just the player in the film that you

1:03:36

saw? Did that change at all

1:03:38

with the landing spot going 12

1:03:40

to Sean Payton? Yeah,

1:03:42

I think all of these guys, the top six guys

1:03:45

have a lot of positives about him and all of

1:03:47

them have some questions that you have going

1:03:49

into the NFL. And so, you know, Bo

1:03:51

Nicks was no different that there was a

1:03:53

lot of positives. I looked at

1:03:56

the Bo Nicks tape and said, if there's one

1:03:58

quarterback that was asked to do More

1:04:00

of what you're gonna be asked to do at the NFL

1:04:02

level than any of the other guys. It was bow Nick

1:04:05

They asked him to see the field. They asked him to see more

1:04:08

Combinations they asked him to get the ball out

1:04:10

on time to go through reads It

1:04:12

wasn't you know a lot of this pure

1:04:15

progression stuff and so from that standpoint I

1:04:17

think he showed us that of

1:04:19

all of these guys, you know When

1:04:21

you're talking about asking him to make

1:04:23

NFL type reads, you know play in

1:04:25

and play out His offense

1:04:27

was the most NFL like of

1:04:30

all of these guys and so to me it

1:04:32

goes Okay, that means he's probably going to

1:04:34

have a chance at the NFL level you

1:04:37

coupled him with You

1:04:39

know with Sean Payton and you say well, that's

1:04:41

exactly what they did with Drew Brees, right? Drew

1:04:43

Brees was an accurate quarterback get the ball out

1:04:45

of his hands wasn't asked to wing the ball

1:04:48

down the field every snap But

1:04:50

get the ball out and get it to the right guy

1:04:52

and they're gonna ask him to do a lot if they

1:04:54

go back To playing that brand of football. So I think

1:04:56

it's a really really good fit The

1:04:59

one thing you see with bow next is that he

1:05:01

didn't push the ball down the field a

1:05:03

whole bunch And again, this is

1:05:05

always an interesting take and I was tweeting

1:05:07

about it The other day is we throw

1:05:09

around the term arm strength all the time.

1:05:11

That's all I saw Strength

1:05:14

mean like what are we talking about? You know, you

1:05:16

hear these guys? Oh, you don't need arm strength and

1:05:18

then the other guys Oh my gosh, does he have

1:05:20

enough arms and I'm like, what do

1:05:22

you mean? Like what what is it? What's

1:05:24

the definition of arm strength because all of

1:05:26

these guys can throw it probably farther than

1:05:28

I ever could Right so they can

1:05:31

make all the throws that you're gonna ask them to make

1:05:33

Against air can they throw an 18 yard comeback and

1:05:35

they throw a 20 yard big? Yeah,

1:05:38

all of these guys can do it for

1:05:40

me arm strength comes down to when

1:05:43

you know When things aren't

1:05:45

perfect around you when the pocket isn't perfect

1:05:47

and you can't step into it and drive

1:05:50

your throws Now I want

1:05:52

to know can you make the second level throws? Can

1:05:55

you make those chunk throws 15 to 35 Yards

1:05:57

when you're off? platform when you guys? The

1:06:00

guy in your face that's a me in

1:06:02

again. I don't even like to use arm

1:06:04

strength because I think most times that those

1:06:06

situations. It's more about creating power

1:06:08

with your body. And. Understanding how

1:06:11

to do that? Then it is to have

1:06:13

a really strong army. The I can just if

1:06:15

I was just waiting with our baggage go

1:06:17

farther than other got. It so.

1:06:19

You. Know I'm gonna like in. Bone.

1:06:21

X based on what I've seen in college to a

1:06:23

guy like Daniel Jones. Daniel. Jones to

1:06:26

me was a really good false flag. That.

1:06:28

He did a lot They asked him to do a lot

1:06:30

you. We made a lot of plays. What? The

1:06:32

question I had come out with

1:06:34

him was arm strength. And.

1:06:36

Again, You. Was Daniel brow and

1:06:39

he's gonna throw it farther than I ever throw it

1:06:41

is you could throw the ball down. That's.

1:06:43

Not The problem is when things are

1:06:46

right around him, can he make those

1:06:48

kinds of prose? And that's something that

1:06:50

he struggled with. In. The Nfl

1:06:52

he struggled to be able to do that.

1:06:54

Doesn't have any problem when the Prophet pocket

1:06:57

as perfect as it hasn't been very often.

1:06:59

Breeding reasons behind it is. He. Can

1:07:01

stop in a drive growth and bonus is

1:07:03

no different but that's my question with bonus

1:07:05

like you can turn on the tape and

1:07:08

see and make. Nfl site

1:07:10

throw was. But. I.

1:07:13

Haven't seen him make a lot of

1:07:15

those rows when things are falling around

1:07:17

part around. you know, when he's got

1:07:19

that pressure on him and now he's

1:07:21

got a create that power you know,

1:07:23

without being able to to drive through

1:07:25

with the speed or leader get momentum

1:07:27

going in that direction. So that's my

1:07:29

question for him. And when I talk

1:07:31

about arm strength, that's what I mean.

1:07:33

Is the ability to create. A

1:07:36

piece on the football when things

1:07:38

are perfect because in the Nfl

1:07:41

very seldom. Are. They perfect. You

1:07:43

don't live in that perfect world and that's

1:07:45

the question for me. He's going to have

1:07:47

to answer all that I'm not. Did you

1:07:49

say any can't do it on dissent? I

1:07:52

didn't get to see it enough where I'm

1:07:54

fully confident. Gather. That he can

1:07:56

be that guy on, you know, and that's

1:07:58

the big question for me. Oh nice, but

1:08:00

I like the situation that he's going to

1:08:03

if they're going to play more. Ah, you

1:08:05

know Aussie Drew Brees asked asked him to

1:08:07

see the field and deal the football. I

1:08:10

think he's got a chance to be very,

1:08:12

very successful woman most accurate quarterback of these

1:08:14

guys last year. So he's got a lot

1:08:16

of really good tools, but he's going to

1:08:18

have to be able to do what I

1:08:20

just talked about. To. Be able to elevate

1:08:22

himself to becoming one of the really, really good

1:08:24

quarterbacks of the unavailable. Yeah. Lot

1:08:26

of really good thoughts there. and I did

1:08:28

see that tweet when you're talking about arm

1:08:30

strength Also, saw you talking about some of

1:08:32

the mental aspects of the game, being able

1:08:34

to read defenses, It's. Funny because

1:08:37

we we go through the combine process writing

1:08:39

we see running backs without pads run in

1:08:41

straight lines right and evaluate that the speed

1:08:43

and that kind of seems like a parallel

1:08:45

to. Okay, we bought that Wilson throw

1:08:48

one really nice deep ball with no one. Rushing.

1:08:50

Out him in in on video and

1:08:52

he's gonna be you know, a superstar

1:08:55

self do think there are some blind

1:08:57

spots there and quarterback evaluation that. Are.

1:09:00

Simply blind spots because we don't have.

1:09:02

The. Ability to quantify them. You

1:09:04

know, go in, measure them.

1:09:07

but they're intangibles. Without

1:09:09

a doubt you know I another part

1:09:11

of that the a tweet exchange that

1:09:13

I had is just the idea that

1:09:16

we we fall in love with this

1:09:18

idea that. You. Can't teach

1:09:20

speed. You can't teach.

1:09:22

Armstrong. You can't teach

1:09:24

body size. I. Get it.

1:09:27

Understand the point? In with that, there's

1:09:29

validity to the point. But

1:09:31

I'm also a firm believer

1:09:33

that. Just. As hard as it

1:09:35

is to teach those things, It's. That hard

1:09:37

to teach a quarterback to process at the

1:09:40

Nfl level. so you have to think fast

1:09:42

and react properly. A big able to see

1:09:44

get the ball on your hands in a

1:09:47

positive manner in make. Those rows

1:09:49

that you have to make it. That's just

1:09:51

as difficult. As. Teaching a gotta run

1:09:53

faster rise in it. So why did we

1:09:55

lose sight of that when you talk about

1:09:58

blind spot any that supply is everything. I

1:10:00

didn't teach him to process. I can teach

1:10:02

him to throw it seven yards. Were.

1:10:05

I'm completely the opposite way to save. My

1:10:07

guy can process and he can only throw

1:10:09

a fifty. Five yards I can work with

1:10:11

can run and off as either way to

1:10:13

get it out on time. A you know

1:10:15

edition of Anticipation. If you

1:10:17

only get don't forty fifty five your that's all you

1:10:20

need. Yeah, I very seldom in a game d C

1:10:22

guys thrown at farther than that anyways. and so I

1:10:24

think that's the last part of it. And.

1:10:26

I think it's loss because. We.

1:10:29

Don't have a way to evaluate my i don't know

1:10:31

a bug. I can process of the Nfl. Level two

1:10:33

shows me can process at the end of a level.

1:10:35

I can give a mini test I want to give

1:10:37

him. Oh wow. An album if. You. Don't

1:10:39

like going to will rise faster than everybody

1:10:42

else or Ahmed Asked if to remember this

1:10:44

play for ten minutes while I taught him

1:10:46

about something else is now he can regurgitate

1:10:48

what I just told him put on a

1:10:50

board. Out. Here Like

1:10:52

yeah. None of that has anything to do with.

1:10:55

You. Know can be, run this play in one of

1:10:57

the effectively and have all the answers in. Think fast

1:10:59

and all that. I've seen lots of

1:11:01

guys that can take you know three minutes on

1:11:03

a play on a board and give me every

1:11:06

detail. but I need to know about that play

1:11:08

on the board to the point where you just

1:11:10

like wow this guy knows at all. Yet.

1:11:12

It takes him six seconds to process

1:11:15

that. Three minutes on up above? Yeah.

1:11:18

Yeah. Cj Stroud in another doing for second really

1:11:20

man on a member sentence with the of yeah

1:11:22

he owes as I was just a seat. Israel

1:11:24

Blasters know he failed at us to test you

1:11:26

know and be our is about how can he

1:11:28

probably don't even know what yeah I don't even

1:11:31

know what that that as to really entails but

1:11:33

but yeah I got people talking to me all

1:11:35

the time is like okay Yamuna do this either

1:11:37

net you know at a quarterback coach results been

1:11:39

today the was what do you think about in

1:11:42

between plays. You. Know if if if

1:11:44

I give my guys trivia or vasily do

1:11:46

a crossword, I've people go. We're going to

1:11:48

make a play chess in between throwing around

1:11:50

so they have to think and. And.

1:11:52

I just sit back and go. What is that as a do

1:11:54

that? like. I. Don't know what that has to

1:11:57

do with anything like. It Again, I

1:11:59

don't really. Probably figured about just between Boys

1:12:01

are you know about the play? Would have given

1:12:03

him I. Did. You run the play. That

1:12:05

I mean you And I see Cj Shroud is a

1:12:08

great example of that. Were. Yet. We did

1:12:10

this task and were like any way. He.

1:12:12

Plays football when you know it in

1:12:14

about ten minutes. right? Ten minutes Watching

1:12:16

you. He's got great technique, he

1:12:18

gets the ball out, quit and you on. The

1:12:20

funny thing about Cj and I thought but all

1:12:22

the time and I get people from Ohio State

1:12:25

fans at argue with me. But when I was

1:12:27

too distraught on film. In college I

1:12:29

thought it was a good player like. Really?

1:12:31

Good player, have a chance to be really good in

1:12:33

the Nfl. I did not see him play football the

1:12:35

way that he did last year which uses. They.

1:12:37

Won't ask them to do the same things.

1:12:39

They played a short to miss your mid

1:12:41

range game last year. Get the ball out

1:12:43

of his hand. Seeing it, you know. Quick

1:12:46

release. I. Didn't see that at

1:12:48

Ohio State. Didn't mean he wasn't a

1:12:50

good quarterback. I just didn't see everything

1:12:52

that Cj Straub was. And. That's

1:12:54

another aspect to this. isn't some guys don't

1:12:56

get a chance to be all that they

1:12:58

can be at the college level In Eugene

1:13:00

Mccarthy could beat examine it out, the do

1:13:02

all of that We did ask him to

1:13:05

do though since I got it. I.

1:13:07

Don't know. began because you did ask him to,

1:13:09

but maybe he's just a sleeping giant. Words

1:13:11

like I could do all that I doesn't get

1:13:13

us to do now and Cj showed us that

1:13:15

last years he played at such a high

1:13:17

I got it with top five quarterback in the

1:13:20

Nfl last year. And I did not

1:13:22

see that on tape. I. Did not see

1:13:24

him being able to do that the way that

1:13:26

he did and as quickly as he did and

1:13:28

he's a great example of. We.

1:13:30

Don't know if we don't know it's

1:13:32

what you're asking somebody to do with

1:13:34

whether they're capable of doing it the

1:13:36

way they need. And. You know

1:13:39

that falls into all of these questions. Caleb, You

1:13:41

could go back to Caleb. He's got the best

1:13:43

body work of all these guys. When you look

1:13:45

at the two and a half years that he's

1:13:47

got, you've seen him do everything. but last year

1:13:49

he lived. Being. Creative. I.

1:13:52

Need to see him process in the

1:13:54

pocket. I saw Chicago Bears quarterback for

1:13:56

two years that hundred arabs being a

1:13:58

preemptive. He. Was a great. He

1:14:00

made a lot of plays but he didn't

1:14:02

play on schedule in the pocket And

1:14:05

so he was very inefficient and they didn't win

1:14:07

games because of it Caleb is going

1:14:09

to have to be more efficient in the pocket

1:14:11

than he was last year Seen

1:14:13

him do it at times. Can he live in

1:14:15

that world? I don't know

1:14:17

and so there's questions with all of these guys

1:14:19

that I can't answer for you Yeah, um, you

1:14:22

know I would have a better idea if I

1:14:24

could sit down in a room and go through

1:14:26

tape and ask him these questions and I Didn't

1:14:28

get a chance to do that. Yeah, obviously the teams

1:14:30

get a chance to do that But even with all

1:14:32

of that said you can sound really really good in

1:14:34

a room, right? There's guys in this league

1:14:37

that is Really really impressive in

1:14:39

a room that you know, take the wonder lick

1:14:41

test and get 36 years on the wonder lick

1:14:43

test There's guys like me. I don't know

1:14:45

what I got, but I didn't do very well And

1:14:47

you know, but I can process information Yeah You give

1:14:49

me a play and and that's the other thing is

1:14:51

like they'll take it into a room and they'll give

1:14:53

you a play And then they'll talk to you about

1:14:55

your family and then they come back to the plate

1:14:57

ten minutes later And I've always asked

1:14:59

like what does that do for me? Like if you're

1:15:01

you're not I'm gonna you're gonna give me a play

1:15:03

on Monday and I got to run it on Sunday

1:15:06

I'm gonna go over that play a million times.

1:15:08

So by Sunday, I'm ready Like you're not gonna

1:15:10

give me a play and then say oh forget

1:15:12

about it Oh, come back to ten minutes and

1:15:14

go run it like we're

1:15:16

just trying to fool ourselves I think sometimes

1:15:19

by trying to come up with this thing.

1:15:21

Well, man, he could regurgitate this in for

1:15:23

just trying to measure What that mean trying to measure something?

1:15:25

Yeah, I want my guy to take as much time as

1:15:27

he needs throughout the week So he's ready to run it

1:15:29

on Sunday I'm not gonna try to hold the back room

1:15:31

him and see if he can run it on the spot

1:15:34

And so, you know that stuff to

1:15:36

me is where there's so much disconnect and so

1:15:38

many blind spots and so many things that we

1:15:40

don't Know until we know and

1:15:43

it's why the quarterback position is a crapshoot

1:15:45

every year It's 50-50 with first-round picks and

1:15:47

then you know, the other aspect too And

1:15:49

I just gonna go back to Chicago is

1:15:51

sometimes these guys are thrown in before they're

1:15:53

ready And so Justin Fields was

1:15:56

thrown in and asked to be a starter in the

1:15:58

NFL before he was ready And

1:16:00

when you do that, not only was he not

1:16:02

ready, but the team wasn't ready. And so over

1:16:05

the last four years, he

1:16:07

struggled to really grow and get better

1:16:10

at being a pocket passer because they

1:16:12

threw him the ball and said, go

1:16:14

be competitive, we don't have

1:16:16

the piece around you, you're not really ready. Take the ball and

1:16:18

go be competitive. So what are you going to do? You're going

1:16:20

to go out there and do what you've always done. And I'm

1:16:22

going to run around and try to make plays and make as

1:16:25

many plays as I can. And now

1:16:27

after this many years, it's like, Hey, we've got to

1:16:29

let him go because he hasn't shown us he can

1:16:31

be that guy. Well,

1:16:33

we forced him almost

1:16:36

to be a different kind of guy and he did

1:16:38

the best that he could do, but

1:16:40

it's unfortunate for him that he didn't get a chance to

1:16:42

grow. And that becomes the other aspect is

1:16:44

how many of these guys are going to be thrown in

1:16:46

too early and not be able

1:16:48

to grow into what they could

1:16:51

become. Right? Some guys, Andrew Luck, it

1:16:53

didn't matter. We can throw him in early. He's

1:16:56

got all the pieces. He'll continue to grow while

1:16:58

we struggle. Whereas we've worked through this. Not

1:17:00

everybody is like that. Some guys get crushed.

1:17:02

Some guys, you know, need more time, you

1:17:04

know, to really focus in on what they

1:17:06

need to get better at and they

1:17:09

get thrown in and two or three years, we're not

1:17:11

convinced. And boom, we're onto the next guy. And so

1:17:13

that becomes another element. You know, you think about a

1:17:15

Drake may. What's his

1:17:17

makeup? You know, can he go into a team

1:17:19

that doesn't have a lot of weapons around him

1:17:21

and be successful and be able to work through

1:17:23

that and get better at the things he needs

1:17:25

to get better at, or is it going to

1:17:27

be, here's the ball, Drake. Yeah, you don't have

1:17:29

a lot of help. Just go see what you

1:17:32

can do. And now he

1:17:34

gets lost trying to be this

1:17:36

playmaker instead of learning and growing

1:17:38

in the game, you know, let's say like

1:17:40

a Jordan Love, right? Jordan Love

1:17:42

probably wasn't ready to be a

1:17:44

full-time starter, but he got a chance to grow into

1:17:46

the position sitting on the bench for a couple of

1:17:48

years. And we all saw what he

1:17:50

was able to do and how he got better and

1:17:52

how he was ready for the moment, because

1:17:55

he was able to grow for a couple of years as a

1:17:57

quarterback by the time he became a

1:17:59

starter last year. Yeah, yeah, I first of

1:18:01

all they should bring Kurt Warner into the room

1:18:03

with these guys as they evaluate them I would

1:18:05

love that I

1:18:08

would love that and and second of all, yeah,

1:18:10

you're gonna see it because five of these six

1:18:12

guys are probably gonna play early Um

1:18:15

real quick. Did you agree with the Michael Pinnock's

1:18:17

junior move? Did you agree with the pick disagree

1:18:19

with the pick? Lots of opinions.

1:18:21

I'm just curious. Yeah what your reaction was

1:18:25

Yeah, I didn't agree with the pick. Yeah You

1:18:28

know and not because I I thought Michael Pinnock's

1:18:30

was probably the third best quarterback in

1:18:32

this draft off of tape Like

1:18:34

I don't know. I'm not in the room So I don't know how

1:18:36

you manage, you know three Season ending

1:18:38

injuries and how you put that in there and what do

1:18:40

you think of that? So I don't know about all that

1:18:42

drafting stuff But just on you know

1:18:45

tape over the last two years Michael Pinnock's

1:18:47

to me Was right up there

1:18:49

with those other guys and in terms of how he

1:18:51

threw the football and so I don't disagree with it

1:18:53

From the standpoint that he's a top 10 pick or

1:18:55

that he you know was right there

1:18:57

slated You know ahead of some of those other guys. I

1:18:59

don't have a problem with that at all. I just I

1:19:02

just don't under and again We

1:19:04

all know that if everything works out

1:19:06

perfectly for Atlanta This could

1:19:08

be a great pick I

1:19:12

just don't know what that perfect scenario

1:19:14

was In that room when

1:19:16

they were talking about it like if

1:19:18

you're giving Kirk this money Then

1:19:20

you have to expect that he's going

1:19:23

to play out those four years At

1:19:26

least I have to expect that if you're going to pay him that

1:19:28

much Going out and getting

1:19:30

him and making that commitment to him I

1:19:32

feel like there's a part of that that says hey,

1:19:34

we made this commitment to Kirk We

1:19:37

need to give him an opportunity to live up

1:19:39

to this commitment not bring another guy in Um,

1:19:42

and then you know, that's the other piece is that

1:19:44

you bring him in. What are we hoping for? Are

1:19:46

we hoping we get two years out of Kirk and

1:19:49

then right and then we get Michael to play Are

1:19:51

we hoping we get all four years out of Kirk

1:19:53

and now we're going to have to pick up a

1:19:55

50 year option Yeah, Michael sturdy by the guy that's

1:19:57

never played He won't be there that

1:20:00

old and there's other guys that have been pretty quiet.

1:20:02

I'm in the lead. So that's possible. So that's possible.

1:20:06

Yeah, agent rears in the NFL

1:20:08

now. But, but but again, I

1:20:11

just don't know what

1:20:13

the scenario was where they were saying

1:20:15

this is what we're thinking,

1:20:18

right? We're thinking two years from Kirk, and

1:20:20

then Michael will get his shot and he'll

1:20:22

be the Jordan love. Well, I just I

1:20:24

don't think that's quite fair to Kirk cousins

1:20:26

who left the situation to go

1:20:29

to Atlanta believing he got

1:20:31

four years believing you know, this was

1:20:33

his team for four years. Now if

1:20:36

you're changing that dynamic, and again, I

1:20:38

get it, he made a lot of money and

1:20:41

all of that. But you know, there's decisions that

1:20:43

go into picking up your family

1:20:45

and moving them and you know, what's

1:20:47

my career going to be? Where do

1:20:49

I feel comfortable? Why am I going

1:20:51

somewhere else? And so without knowing

1:20:53

this was a possible piece there. I

1:20:56

don't like the decision. I don't understand. Yeah,

1:20:59

I don't understand the room. And I also

1:21:01

don't understand, you know, what you're trying to

1:21:03

sell the Kirk cousins who I believe deserves.

1:21:06

Yeah, because of the how he's played, he

1:21:08

deserves the opportunity to play

1:21:10

out his contract without having, you know,

1:21:13

all of this going on around it. Same page.

1:21:16

Just feels like it's bad for everyone involved

1:21:18

bad for the rookie bad

1:21:20

for the vet bad for the other teammates that

1:21:22

I don't know wanted help to win right now.

1:21:24

So and the fan right I don't know

1:21:27

who won but yeah, that was tough. I before we

1:21:29

let you go and I want to thank you again

1:21:31

for spending the time with us talking through these players.

1:21:34

Very much appreciate it. I want

1:21:37

you to know, Rich Eisen, your boy

1:21:39

over there, he played with us last

1:21:41

year. Pretty competitive player. So if

1:21:43

you ever want to dip the toe back into the

1:21:45

world, maybe competitively take him down a

1:21:47

notch because I mean, I've got to be honest, he

1:21:49

was he was talking some

1:21:52

trash. So that's rich for sure.

1:21:54

You're always welcome. So again, thank

1:21:56

you very much Kurt Warner joining
