Nestle is a multinational food company sourcing products from 700,000 different farmers across 53 countries. But if Covid lead to an increase in people buying local food, and questioning where their food comes from….does that mean companies like Nestle might have to change? Anna Hill speaks to Hans Johr -Corporate Head of Agriculture at Nestle. We get a peak inside one of three huge new glasshouses which could grow up to 12 percent of the UK’s tomato crop. The £120 million pound project includes one glasshouse in Suffolk, and two just outside Norwich. All of them will be warmed by waste heat, recycled from nearby water treatment plants. And our focus on crops grown for drinks takes a look at malting barley, with a visit to a malting house in Wiltshire.Presented by Anna HillProduced for BBC Audio in Bristol by Heather Simons
