These guys brighten my days, and remind me of my favorite D&D games, filled with red herrings and players who insist on going down bizarro rabbit holes.
My all-time favourite podcast, and the best actual play podcast ever. An amazing world created by DM Brad, enthusiastic and entertaining players with unique characters, and a great storyline across 6 seasons so far. Just... probably don't listen with your kids (but DO listen to the family friendly spinoff - The Gigantic Adventures of Jeff and Simon).
Super silly with a surprising amount of lore and depth to the characters and the world. It's a well thought out story with player characters that surprise you in every episode, and that's why I love the show so much.
Welcome to the Resistance! If you're looking for a lovable group of misfit adventurers, a good old fashioned tale of taking down the corrupt empire, and more natural ones then is mathematically possible, you have come to the right place! With a detailed and well crafted homebrew world, Fate of Isen takes you right into the thick of the story right away. The characters are instantly charming with their own quirks and goals, from getting the gig to make some cash, to shoveling and procuring a lot of hog waste, and becoming the ultimate Tresslespoon. Along with this the DM does a fantastic job having the NPCs of the tale feel like they are talking to fleshed out characters and the world is a living and moving thing, even while the players are not there. With a great amount of laughs and an engaging story, this podcast is sure to bring you back to those fantastical adventures you've had at the table or read about in books. Hop on Fate of Isen today and get ready to stop the rise of the Arkvale Empire.
Fun and silly homebrew D&D from a group of kiwi comedians!
This podcast is amazing, love the characters, great people, intriguing story and hilarious to boot.
Fate of Isen is one of my favorite tabletop shows. Not only do they create a rich and engaging introduction to their world, but their characters are endearing, relatable, and such a joy to listen to. One thing that sticks out to me is how well they brought their adventurers together...It's a wonderfully amusing circumstance...unlike a lot of other shows out there. Their cast is devoted to having a great time, and bringing us along for the ride. If you're looking for a rules-loose, fun narrative driven show. This is the place to be.
I love a good TTRPG podcast and Fate of Isen delivers with an authentic kiwi experience. I love Brad.
One of the best kiwi podcasts out there
Been listening to this since August-ish 2019 as a somewhat homesick Kiwi and D&D nerd. Epic shenanigans, interesting characters and a solid plot (and eternally patient DM). Well worth a listen!
Awesome podcast! The humor and chemistry is really enjoyable and fun!
Every you need from a fantasy RPG podcast. A delight!
One of (if not) the best DnD podcasts out there.

Fate of Isen: A Kiwi D&D PodcastHi Rora!!! Thank you so much for the amazing review. I'm a big fan of the Banffor/River ship as well. Actually just a big fan of River fullstop. We really appreciate that you're enjoying the show and…

Fate of Isen: A Kiwi D&D PodcastThanks, Tim, for this wonderful review! :-)
This podcast is an amalgamation of the greatest things within DnD: great fights, in-depth characters, silly fun and awesome storytelling. DM Brad created a fantastic world whose depth I find AMAZING and with his voice talent he really brings the NPCs to live. The characters are well played and it’s so cool to see how they develop over time. Not only has this podcast sparked my passion for DnD. Listening and re-listening to the episodes always leaves me with a feeling of awe, sore chore muscles from all the laughing and many ideas for my next DnD sessions. This podcast should be mandatory!

A unique D&D setting and a truly epic adventure with heaps of variety! The cast have some great banter and the GM manages to weave grand stories while also paying attention to logic and detail. Memorable characters and a fun vibe. Definitely check it out!
Part of me was saddened that I hadn't heard of this show earlier, but the up-side was I got to binge several seasons in short order. Great characters and a DM style that reminded me how fun it could be to run a game.
