This week we're talking about food! No, "Queer Cuisine" is not a euphemism. Chef Kat Mciver of seasonal farm-to-table cafe Wide Eyes Open Palms in Long Beach joins us and we get to ask an expert about our personal (and very different) struggles with food. Kat shares about how the punk scene prepared her for toxic kitchen culture, enlightens us on her cooking philosophy of "waste not, want not" and how to use every part of a plant (think carrot tops, radish greens and pea tendrils). We contemplate the idea that food may mean something special to us as queer people and try to name what makes something "Queer Cuisine." Kat also shares an intuitive eating practice and her approach to shopping at a farmer's market.
