This has been a very trying time for so many people.  So many people I know have been affected by job loss or major reductions in salary. School abruptly ended, the Fall is unknown, mental health issues have sky-rocketed, many are isolated at home, sports canceled, family trips on hold. I feel as educators, we have an obligation to model to our children coping strategies.  We can find ways to "make the best" out of a bad situation, because there is always something wonderful we can find about each and every day ~even if it's in the middle of a pandemic.  Although our summer has been basically "canceled" and my kids were very sad about all the things we don't get to do, we have tried to find ways to keep spirits lifted and look for our own fun. I can't say it's been all bad, we have definitely spent a lot more "down time" relaxing and haven't been running everywhere like we normally would, with two active and busy kids, and have found some ways to find our own fun!
