This show begins with a very quick and fitting introduction theme before the hosts Adam and Ally (for the episode I listened to) introduce themselves. The hosts then quickly introduce the topic of the episode and discuss initial thoughts on that concept. This generally revolves around a monster from a book, movie or video game.
The episode I listened to was about Frankenstein’s Monster. It therefore made sense for the episode to start with early portrayals of Frankenstein’s Monster. From there the show worked through the monster’s appearances in several forms of media, regularly associating these with more general pop culture. The Game of Thrones discussion. Haha!
The show has a lighthearted feel; both hosts clearly enjoy making the show. At times you can literally feel them smiling which helps you to enjoy the show yourself. There were musical snippets full of humour which really add to the energetic, comedic feel. The show is full of random discussion and tangents alongside the well-researched main content. The show is also well-edited and sound quality is decent. It all ends in rating the monsters covered out of 10.
Overall, this show is an enjoyable frolic in to the world of monsters. Give this a try.
