I was hooked from first episode. Unique and quality production written in first person perspective from a reporter who builds a relationship with the accused. Love how the manuscript becomes a character in the story. As the daughter of a lifelong fireman and fire investigator, I was fascinated. Highly recommend.
Great production, good storyline and nice play on the identity and guilt of the eventual suspect. Some of the best true crime I heard in a long time.
For ten years, a serial arsonist terrorized Southern California, burning down businesses in broad daylight. Four people were murdered. Then, a manuscript for a novel leads investigators to the last person they would have ever suspected. This is a story of perhaps the most famous serial arsonists in history. And let me tell you, this shit is wild.Looking for 5 hand-picked podcast recommendations weekly? Sign up for my newsletter at FINDTHATPOD.COM
Truly amazing podcast. First one listened to from truth media and will definitely come back for more. The transition between quotes of the book and the parellels to the real fires are so well done.
Never in my life have I binged a podcast quite like this one. Everything from the story telling to the production to the actual story itself had me hooked. It was horrifying and thrilling all at the same time.
The gripping true story of an arsonist/novelist. An immersive, high quality production.
I remember reading about this story in the LA Times. But the podcast is better. Ideal fit some binge listening. Excellent!
Love this podcast Such an interesting story.John Orr is so guilty, he is exactly where he deserves to be.when he was jailed did the number of number of arson fires that resembled the string that he was involved in investigating then stop ???
well told and very interesting.
