Fireside Shats

The Fireside Shats is an outdoor reading series that started when the wild minds of Becky Wilklow Marnell, Siobhan McBride, and Miles Wilklow Marnell combined brain power during a whole lot of personal and societal turmoil. We wanted to make literature hot again. So, we took it outside (to our backyard, to be exact), added a literal (and metaphorical!) fire, and created a space where anyone could share stories and music without judgement, without pretension, and with a whole lot of juxtaposition. Now, we’ve brought it inside to give you all a closer listen! If ya wanna get deep about it (and if you know us, you probably do, let’s be real), The Fireside Shats harkens back to the oral traditions of ole, when humans gathered at night to regale and enlighten each other around a communal fire. Basically, The Shats are the hottest thing to sweep Highland, New York since the three founders were born. And now, it’s wherever you are.Come Shat for yerself!
