In the summer of 1978, while the Boston College players prepare for the upcoming season, the connection with the NY mobsters is formed in Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary when Henry Hill meets convicted drug dealer Paul Mazzei. Mazzei introduces Hill to the Perla Brothers and their pal, Boston College center, Rick Kuhn, but the mobsters need Kuhn to recruit his teammates for the scheme to work.
