From a human perspective Haman had it all: he was extremely wealthy, powerful, and had great influence with King Xerxes.  Yet none of that mattered – none of that gave him any satisfaction – as long as Mordecai the Jew refused to bow down to him.

In this life we will never have a sense of complete satisfaction.  In this, there is a little bit of Haman in each of us.  We have the opportunity to find satisfaction in Christ, but the desire for “just one more thing” sucks the joy out of our life.
