I'm joined by the fabulous Akua Boateng for this podcast episode in honour of Black History Month. There has been so much going on this year with an intense glare on the lived experience of black people and the injustices faced. It's also important to celebrate the richness of our culture, and with that being said I invited Akua to talk about the books that have made the most impact on her life. We explore themes of identity, inclusion, womanhood and shame. There are so many gems in here which I believe anyone can learn from.
Disclaimer - we faced tech issues with the audio halfway through and experienced an annoying lag! *please fix Anchor!* But I would encourage you to plough on through as there was so much wisdom in Akua's words - I couldn't bear to lose it! Also...in keeping with all things authentic...sometimes you have to accept that life isn't perfect and good enough will have to do!
Enjoy :)
