Davies asked good questions, but Chef Samuelsson is just not a natural storyteller. I would have liked a lot more examples of "American" food that was created by chefs and cooks who were black, and maybe one story about what it is like to see your personal expression through food adopted by a whole culture. And how could they have failed to mention that there are not one but *two* movies where this exact phenomenon is central to the plot: "Imitation of Life" and "Mr Blandings Builds his Dream House"?I'm not particularly interested in food, but I am interested in history, so I would have liked to know more.
