In season 1 of this podcast, we shall specifically discuss the first 2 years of caliphate, in which the Muslim nation was led by Abu Bakr As-Siddique R.A., the closest Companion to the Prophet SAW, what policies he implemented as the first caliph in the Islamic Welfare State of Madinah, the reasons behind those policies and their political and social ramifications.
As an ambitious student of history, policymaking and politics, I found the history of caliphate quite fascinating and I said to myself one day, why should not I share it with you all via a podcast.
We shall focus on the political and institutional side of Islamic history and shall not go into details regarding the people’s personal lives much except the caliph’s.
We shall get to know how the different institutions of the caliphate functioned, for example the treasury, judiciary, defense, provincial governments, etc. And we shall dive deeper into the workings of each of these institutions in upcoming episodes.
My goal is to explain and present before you the most authentic information backed by deep research. Where multiple perspectives will be needed, I shall try to discuss the differing narrations mentioned in Ahadees (Prophet SAW's sayings) and history books as much as I could, pointing out the most authentic statement of the lot.
