What an amazing experience! I'm speechless, From Now hits all the right buttons. And the sound design is just stellar, absolutely mind blowing
This is one of the best audio drama podcasts I have listened to. I recommend it.
Interesting sci-fi with good acting. Looking forward to another season.
Cool story! Not edge of your seat stuff, but I enjoyed listening to this. Another quality QCode production.
Good Sci-Fi plot and voice acting. The sound effects and some dialog are a bit over-the-top (think comic book movie) but enjoyable none the less.
Just listened to this and I agree with the assessment that this is a heap of trash. Long drawn cryptic exchanges to stall out episode times, garbage infodump dialogue, and none of the characters behave like actual people. Richard Madden seems to have lost all his acting ability for this podcast but his woodenness can't be all his fault when Lance Reddick has to read this: "There's the blood of seven American heroes in there. Still visible on the walls. On the ceiling. Wedged into the control panels. This isn't just another day on the job. You're smart. I get that. I appreciate your cavalier bravado as a way to navigate assholes like me. But this is bigger than your career or any of that. It's bigger than both of us. This a geopolitical shitstorm, particularly with the Russian Federation, and we are just at the tip of the iceberg. Now this spaceship, and the man who got off it, they mean more to this nation than just about any other thing on the planet. So I will not let you board this ship if you're going to tread casually through that. Now do you understand?" Hahahaha. This isn't just another day on the job! Throw this back on the DVD clearance sale pile.
This was a very long burn most of the time. Not that that's a bad thing, but it really didn't pick up my interest until the 6th episode. And the last few episodes are amazing. A very emotional roller coaster ending for me and after finishing it I understand why they took so much time to build the relationship as they did with the two main characters. Well done.
I'm torn about my views of From Now. On one hand it has a fantastic premise, the usual stellar QCode polish and big names in starring roles. On the other hand, the script drags for the first half of the series - they dwell on the "you're not my real brother" angle far too long and it takes a while for the bigger picture to unravel - and the voice performances are surprisingly uninspired. Madden especially disappoints, failing to convey the the heightened emotions or inquisitiveness that the plot demands.
A little confusing. Not a very compelling story. Probably my least favourite Qcode show.
Rating - 7.25/10The show contains multiple big name voice casts such as Erin Moriarty, Richard Madden, Lance Reddick and much more. Being a QCode production, the soundtracks and overall production quality continues to be top notch. However, a weak character build-up/plot lets the show down. The plot is a hit or miss scenario and I did not develop much interest in the characters. The idea for the plot had much potential and knowing QCode's history of not following up, I doubt a Season 2. Despite the show's shortcomings, it still provides a decent experience with an average story telling experience.Note: These are only my amateur personal review ratings/thoughts, you are welcome to have your own opinions.
