Podcast 156 | $25 Trillon National DebtAmerica is about to cross a dangerous threshold. Our national debt is almost $25 trillion there's no one of any relief inside because of the shutdown due to Coronavirus. So we, the citizens, are poised with a question. How do we keep borrowing more money as a federal government? And who are we going to owe the money to once it's all said and done? Podcast 156 will discuss the United States' almost $25 Trillion National Debt and who the United States federal government owes for the debt.Podcast 156 IntroductionAnd thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction. I am David Marks the Pontificator of Common Sense and your Coffee Connoisseur. Coming to you once again from Front Porch Politics Podcast. I hope everyone's having a great day. Friends, we always want to remind you to go to podcast.davidlmarks.com and subscribe to the show. That being said, I read a startling statistic today. The United States federal government is about to reach $25 trillion in national debt. I'm sure that the Socialist and the Democrats are going to blame President Trump for this. And they're going to say that his massive tax cuts for corporations are the reason why we're having such massive deficits. But that is not the case. The problem right now is that we are borrowing money with no one working. People Need to WorkNow granted in the area that I live there still people who are going to work every day. There are still people who are going to their jobs, and the economy still looks like it's doing OK. Granted, we can't go into restaurants. And schools are closed. But there are still people out traveling. There are still people out getting, living their normal life. For the most part. Our federal government, though, has seen that people are not getting to work. Granted, I do want us to help those who are not working right now. As a matter of fact, we're starting to see where the unemployment increases now pay people more money than they were making while they were working. Now you can speculate on why this is. I'll give you my opinion and you can take it, for what it's worth. I do believe that some in Washington. And I'm talking about some of these who are more of a socialistic mindset. Want to have people paid more money to stay home. $25 Trillion Debt Due to UnemploymentAnd this is a twofold problem. Because their goal is to have a $15 an hour minimum wage. When people start going back to work, they're going to demand more wages. I actually heard a commentator, a Democrat commentator to be exact, say this yesterday. If we want people to return back to work after we've paid more money on unemployment with the federal government. Then companies need to step up and pay more money.Secondly, we are killing our economy by not returning life back to normal. I have gone over this time and time again. If you listen to Tuesday's podcasts, abortion statistics show us that we are killing a lot more people in abortion clinics than the Coronavirus has even thought about killing. That being said, the United States federal government is borrowing money on your back and they're doing so it massive rates just to be truthful with you. Federal Deficit is Growing FastOur federal deficit spending right now is $6.5 trillion. Did you hear me right? $6.5 trillion. This doesn't include those who are here illegally. But every citizen of the United States owes $74,269 on our debt. That includes your one-year-old nephew. The national debt per taxpayer is $97,156. Taxpayers being those who are working, have some type of business, or are revenue to our tax system. Revenue at the moment is only $3.4 trillion. Did you hear me correct? $3.4 Trillion dollars. Now, this would have been more of a $4 trillion revenue if our economy was not shut down. Right now, the problem with this is the government is continuing to spend money. But it begs us to ask,
