Scripture: 1 John 4:7-21 God is…love.

The fact that God is love doesn’t negate the fact that God is holy. God’s love doesn’t mean that we can overlook or forget God’s law. Because God is holy, God’s love is perfect.

Because God is love…

He leads me into all truth.
He comforts me.
He corrects and disciplines me. Scripture: Hebrews 12:5-11
He gives me everything I need.
He forgives and cleanses me of sin.

#1 God loved us. Scripture: Ephesians 1:3-5

#2 God loves us.
Scriptures: 1 John 3:1-2; Romans 8:35-39

There is only one way to know what love is, and that is by knowing who God is. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:1-7, 13

#3 God’s love for us transforms us, therefore enabling us to love. Scripture: Ephesians 3:14-19

God’s love requires an active response from us as believers. Scriptures: 1 John 2:15-17; 1 John 3:16-18

Love God.
Love your neighbor. Love your enemies.

We reflect who God is when we know and show what love is.
