This week’s show features a guest who has spent her life valuing the natural world. Meet Vet Dr Sheelin who shares some of her journey, from her childhood on a beef property in Eidsvold in rural Queensland, to becoming an eco-warrior of sorts, an advocate for sustainable living and the slow food movement, via time spent working as a vet with the intensive dairy and beef feedlot industries in the USA, and the pharmaceutical industries, and then time spent studying in the town of Bra in Italy, where the slow food movement began. A fascinating insight into how much of our food is produced, and how we need to alter the way we think about food and consumerism for the planet, the wildlife, and ultimately, ourselves.
