This was one of the first podcasts I introduced my son to and he loves it. Husband and wife Greg and Sharon Ross uncover some of the most amazing human stories from history. They don’t need flashy bells and whistles, the presentation is very simple and that’s a good thing. It’s just the two of them talking and telling very well researched events, many of which you’ve probably never heard before. Some of the tales of human kindness, endurance and humility really do tug at your heart and I think a lot of this is down to their style. I often feel a deep emotion to the events being described and am surprised by the effect it has on me. In the fast paced world of today where the news media seems to be more about selling headlines and agendas Futility Closet is a fantastic foil to it all.
lovely bits of history, wonderful music and general atmosphere; a joy to listen to Greg and Sharon!
Wonderful and intriguing pieces of history, it's such a joy to listen to this weekly!
Super quirky and unique with lovable hosts and lots of very interesting and lesser-known stories from history.
I loved the stories I heard, but in the episodes I listened to, they were delivered by a man who spoke entirely too fast and gave me no time to actually process the story. It was just a guy reading a story with little emotion. There were no other sound effects or music to enhance the story. I wanted to like it more because the stories themselves were so intriguing!
Every episode is insightful & thoroughly researched, the hosts are a pleasure to listen to, the audio is great & they're a good length
