Love him or hate him (with many more being in the second camp), his influence on Formula 1 is unparalleled and it is not an exaggeration to say that, without him, we would have a very different sport (if it still existed at all). His was the vision that took Formula 1, once the domain of men covered in grease and oil, caring little about anything other than racing, into the global limelight, transforming a mostly European operation into a broadcasting behemoth covering the whole globe.
