“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us...”

Do we see, hear, and know the God of the future tense? 

The God of promise and presence — the one who declares not simply that he has been with you, but he will be with you; the one who declares not only that he has been, but will be; again and again and again. 

God is with you. 

The God who profoundly other, and yet wildly personal. The God who calls us through fire; warns us to anticipate, expect, and remove our sandals, so that we can allow ourselves to be absorbed into the reality of his character and presence; the God who reveals through his fiery presence. 

The God who sees, and hears, and comes down to deliver. The God who calls and commissions human agents to be his hands and feet in the world. 

His name is YHWH.

"The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; not the scholars or philosophers."

There is no other before or after, above or below; and there is no other beside him...
