She says prepare the soil and have water standing by. And if a plant is root-bound, whether it's a tiny pansy in a six pack or a big perennial in a pot, free the bound roots.Amy teases the roots loose with her fingers if possible, but will snip through a denser, tougher tangle is necessary.
