Sometimes we are not aware that we have been programmed to strive for mediocrity. We have been told;
“ do not shine too brightly so you don’t seem like you are boasting or bragging.”
It is a program that we spend a lot of our lives struggling with. On the one hand, we do not wish to seem like braggarts, on the other hand, we want to soar and let our gift come out to shine and bless the world.
The question then is how do we bridge the gap?
First, we realize that we are all the same, in that No one is better than another. But we also must accept that we are unique. With unique gifts that only we can give. We all have a place of honor and we must be aware of that and act accordingly while honoring others and their gifts.
Gratitude for who we are and appreciation for others' gifts is another way of elevating our mindset.
When the right mindset is achieved ideas form, and we open doors for ourselves. Bringing others up. Striving for mediocrity keeps us from moving forward and gifting others with ourselves and the good that we came here to share.
What does mediocrity look like? It looks like -just enough. Not too much struggle, very little uncomfortableness, and staying inside the box.
Growth happens when we get out of that comfort and dive first into struggle.
The courage we need can come from knowing that the one thing we can count on is change. Nothing stays the same all must move and evolve. So if we make mistakes we can correct them. Each time moving closer to the goal.
What happens when we reach the goal? We raise the bar!!! That is why we are here. To be the best that we can be and the only way to do that is to jump without a net and know that we are our own safety. That if we fall it will not kill us but it will make us stronger. We will evolve and with perseverance will reach the goals we set for ourselves.
As long as we STOP thinking small and mediocre.
