RATING
I'm inclined to look for the same level of amaze that I get from a similarly named show -- but once I get over that this show becomes amazing. It's full of nostalgia, and all the same rage I felt while playing some of the 'early' video games on console.
I cannot think of a better podcast about video games that blends conversation with research. All three hosts are a delight to listen to and I can say confidently that I love Heather with all my heart. :) You can hear the passion and care they have for the topics they cover and I love that the show continues to evolve wuth Matt, Heather, and Nick’s interests. Can’t recommend this show enough!
My old roommate turned me onto this podcast and I fell in love immediately. I love the perspective shared, the goofy/wild games they find (both on the fun and the abysmal side of things), and the overall production. It makes me wish I had pursued my early interest in video game industry jobs so I could have MAYBE had a chance to be a guest. Also, massive kudos to Devon for handling the theme song remixes so effing well each episode. The combination of that and the musicians/composers they've had on the show has given me the inspiration to finally finish my Video Game Composition reel, so thanks!PS: Heather being a fellow SEGA nerd like me (my dad worked for them for 10 years and I was lucky enough to be allowed in the test department whenever I wanted) makes me happy
So good. Hilarious and awkward conversation about obscure video games. I listen every Monday.
Mostly funny convos about weird video games with random guests. It's decent entertainment but I'm only here for Heather Anne Campbell. Also the segment structure of the the show makes it forced and repetitive. 4/5 ataris
My fave video game podcast
Although I am not a gamer and have not played many if any of the games covered in any of the episodes, this show is still a delight on the ears. The show isn't about the games but the hosts and guests that are talking about the games and with the holy trinity of Heather, Nick, and the blessed Matt have the perfect balance of banter, insights, bad jokes and iconic catchphrases like "Hello, everyone."Give this show a listen.
