Personal and business life negotiation are a given term, from contract negotiation, salary raise ask to choosing which restaurant to go to for a date night, how to buy a car at a best value is ability to negotiate with other people. Although negotiation with others is only one side of the coin.

Self-negotiation start from the second you wake up, and normally leads with how much time you have available in or motivation to get up and get on with the life.

Negotiation with yourself self and your subconscious is something you do all the time, and do not ever stop even when asleep, in dreams the subconscious takes full control and negotiate on our behalf. When the demons of anxiety or depression creep in negotiation becomes one the best weapon in fighting off the feeling of lack of successes, failure and overwhelming world affairs.

Knowing what works is easier said than done, but all people are different and there is no single solution that will work magic, that is why it is so important to understand what triggers the need to feel bad and being honest like in business and personal life negotiation is a pass to successes. Identifying triggers of bad day is the first step of communicating with yourself and listening to subconscious needs. Take time to meditate as it is the best place to talk to subconscious and ask those uncomfortable question of “how does it make you feel”, “how can this be omitted”, “how can I do that”. Asking the how questions will lead to knowing the why.

Alternatives in negotiations are already mentioned in previous part but is still a good universal negotiation tool that is handy to make a great deal. What is the alternative to how you feel today or are willing to do is a great option to present self-subconscious and gives the control back to the drivers not the passenger.

By all means some cases of depression and anxiety need a professional support and I am not in position to offer such, nevertheless there are methods of negotiation that enable the depression to ease off. Feeling is a choice, therefore negotiating how to feel is one possible solution, just like convincing a friend that buying Tesla electric car is better than Ford Mustang is a negotiation tactic, so is convincing your subconscious that going out for a walk is better for you mental health that sitting at home. Understanding alternatives helps with self-negotiation. Getting some fresh air and vitamin D is an alternative to sitting home and feeling bad.

Knowing the triggers and alternatives is all good but lack of ability to enforce the tactics will not provide successes in fighting off depression and anxiety. The third tactic is the place in which to make such negotiation and meditation is the best possible place to have a meaningful and flourishing conversation with subconscious. When mind is quieted down it tends to come up with all the things that it can make a person feel worst, hence it is good opportunity to pick these up and think why these are causing stress, what else can be done to not pay attention to these in life as it got all the attention in meditation. Thoughts in meditation are like counterpart opening their cards and spilling all the beans. Before and after the discovery phase in meditation it is good practice to just observe the thoughts passing by and not paying attention to them at all. Just observing for few minutes.

Ability to negotiation with subconscious takes time and practice, knowing the key three successfully tested approaches, meditation, alternatives and trigger points is the best possible approach to fight of depression with negotiation as it covers all the aspects of understanding what is going on and therefore creates stronger self-awareness. No negotiation is more important to an individual than negotiating to improve mental health.
