This week's episode of Ghana in  Focus celebrates Ghanaian farmers in the form of Farmers' Day.

We start by explaining the reason for celebrating farmers' day.

We then go into detail about why food and agriculture are an important part of human development and nation building.

We detail how Ghana became food secure under Ghana's first president Dr Kwame Nkrumah to how Ghana  today is food insecure where it cannot grow enough food to feed its population.

We state how other nations have become food secure and explain what steps Ghana needs to take in order for it to be food secure and create the jobs and much needed revenue that derive from investing in agriculture.

We also state how food can be used as a weapon of war to vulnerable countries hence why Ghana needs to be food secure.
