This week's edition of Ghana in focus investigates the trend of big companies leaving Ghana.

Ghana is considered as the gateway to Afrika.  However due to the severe economic challenges the country is going through many big businesses have been compelled to leave Ghana.

This state of affairs is worrying particularly as the government  sees industrialization as a key policy and two that Ghana is the headquarters of the African Continental Free Trade Area.

We explore some of the key reasons why many large companies have left Ghana such as high interest rates, import duties and the cedi to US Dollar depreciation.

We advise that government needs to take active steps to ensure some of these issues are addressed .  Failure to do so could mean more companies leaving Ghana and more importantly Ghana being a less attractive place in which to do business.
