Season 2, Episode 3
Our next episode features Claude de Jocas, Vice President on Volition Capital’s Internet and Consumer investment team who was named GrowthCap's Top Women Leaders in Growth Investing for the second year in a row in 2023. She began on the startup side with L2 Inc, which was later acquired by Gartner, and worked with major brands like Nike and Estee Lauder. In 2019, she joined Volition Capital, and she now focuses on investments in direct-to-consumer products, tech-enabled services, and marketplaces, with sector interests in beauty and wellness, age tech, and healthcare. Claude holds a BA from Yale University in economics and environmental studies, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
We really enjoyed learning about Claude’s time at L2 Inc and Volition Capital, and we were especially fascinated by her experience working in a bootstrapped environment and how it helps her in her current role. Clearly, Claude has deep experience working in digital strategy, which she leverages as she invests in internet and consumer companies who are in a similar position as L2 Inc was. She also shares valuable advice for founders when choosing a VC fund to work with and for students who are just starting their careers.
