Akira Isogawa is one of Australia’s most celebrated and respected designers. Originally from Kyoto, Japan, Akira moved to Australia in 1986, studied fashion design at East Sydney Technical College. Since that time, he has broken boundaries and blurred lines between traditional Japanese and Australian design.
On this episode of GLAMcity, we go inside the retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences to speak with Akira and curator, Roger Leong about how such an extensive and beautiful collection is curated into one show.
