In this special episode in an exciting podcast series from the GTEC, T cell experts Dr Marcus Buggert (Assistant Professor of Infectious Medicine at the Karolinska Institute) and Dr Pranab Haldar (Honorary Consultant Respiratory Physician at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust), discuss T cells, immunity, and clinical perspectives.

In this episode our experts start by discussing their shared interest in the study of infectious diseases and immunology. Next they summarise what we know about immunity to SARS-CoV-2, including the role of T cells and antibodies in immune protection. Finally, they discuss the currently available techniques to assess the immune response to infectious diseases. 

This podcast was developed by the Global T cell Expert Consortium (GTEC), an initiative set up to bring together experts in T cells, vaccines, immunology and public health worldwide, with the aim of becoming the leading voice in T cell research during and beyond the current COVID-19 pandemic.
