Wolverine Worldwide is an American footwear company that operates the subsidy Merrell, a brand which specializes in hiking footwear. Today we are joined by two people from the Kids Group of Wolverine Worldwide: Kate Cox, VP of Product and Marc Loverin, Creative Director.
The focus of the discussion is what to look for in a kids adventure shoe. We hear about the process of how a shoe gets created at Merrell, including how feedback is collected from both kids and parents. Marc tells us about how Merrell doesn't just shrink an adult shoe and then call it a kids shoe like some companies do, and why this is important.
We hear about the fulfillment that kids get by learning to put on their own shoes. Kathy’s children have been using a Merrell shoe this summer, so Kate and Marc give us more insight on this model. Merrell has recently launched a shoe specifically for toddlers which Marc gives us an overview of. Finally, Kate gives her closing thoughts on all the tips that have been mentioned during this episode and Kathy tells us about a Merrell giveaway!
