Once upon a time, tree climbing was just something we did as kids without thinking much about it. These days, whether it’s regulations, legal issues, or overprotective parents, a simple activity like climbing a tree can bring much more trouble!
Dr. Carla Gull was inspired to do some research on this topic after being scolded for having her child climb a tree in a park. She wanted to better understand the risks around climbing trees, how to do it respectfully, the opinion of parents, and also regulations across the U.S.
In this episode, Carla outlines the results of her research, including some of the many advantages of tree climbing and outdoor play, plus some tips for doing it safely and respectfully!
