This is Gone Racing, Vison's

0:04

premier NASCAR betting podcast. Here

0:06

are your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

0:08

Gone and Las Vegas Motor Speedways.

0:10

Jeff Mottley.

0:12

Well, it is Gone Racing here on Vson

0:14

and I am Jeff Motley. But we don't have

0:16

former NASCAR driver Brendan Gone

0:19

with us. White time check. Whyite who's normally

0:21

behind the glass with us is in with us today.

0:23

Welcome to filling in the seat. You're

0:25

a relief driver this week.

0:26

I know it was a last minute to

0:29

text there by Brennan who texted me while I

0:31

was driving. You know the funny thing is I was trying to send you guys a text

0:34

while driving. Well, they're trying to hit a red light.

0:36

They had like twenty red lights as.

0:37

I go home Metro n HP.

0:39

No, no, no, I couldn't get a red light to save my

0:41

life. Whenever you need a red light, you can never get it.

0:43

When you ever need a green light, you can never get it as well.

0:45

You know they make shoulders on the side of the road. If

0:47

it's that important, you can just pull off on the side of the road.

0:50

No, there's no shoulders in Las Vegas. Because they're all getting instructed

0:52

on.

0:53

Well, you're in Las Vegas Boulevard, that's true, So what

0:55

a mess that is? Well anyway, I mean, it's good to

0:57

have you in here today, and you filled

1:00

in a few times before. Why it also me it's not

1:02

like he's an amateur here. Why it is also the

1:04

voice of the UNLV Lady

1:07

Rebels women's basketball team,

1:09

the Mountain West Conference champions last

1:11

year and probably picked to win the Mountain West

1:13

Conference again this year.

1:14

I would have magine, man, I vote for number one, so back

1:16

to back, we're trying to go for three to orew.

1:18

Your vote doesn't count because you're a homer.

1:20

That's okay, So I'm not that much of a homer.

1:22

All right. We a lot a Brad Kesslowski homer for there

1:24

we go.

1:24

Okay, all right. We got a racing show though going

1:26

on here. And last weekend we were at

1:28

Talladega and another guy who's punched his

1:31

ticket into the round of eight is

1:33

Ryan Blaney. Ryan, he has

1:35

been so good at Talladega. It's been one of his

1:38

his best tracks. We had some guys that didn't have such

1:40

a good day, but Ryan Blaney, he really kind

1:42

of served noticed on these super speedways.

1:44

One of the I don't think we talk about

1:47

how much Ryan Blaney is as an elite

1:50

restrictor plate racer. This is now

1:52

he's won multiple times, third time at Talladega.

1:54

It's the funny, funny part I saw the when

1:56

he was asked, well's the large marge of victory and

1:58

victory I've ever had. So he's really

2:00

run one in dramatic fashion, but

2:04

a very impressive run for him, in

2:06

a really great pass at the end, it looked like Kevin Harvick

2:08

was going to have that Cinderella story win, but Blandy

2:11

was able to kind of get the momentum on the inside.

2:13

Harvick just couldn't block or he would have been turned and was

2:16

able to hold on there and avoid all the chaos.

2:18

Well, it was probably good for everybody that

2:21

Kevin Harvick didn't end up being the first one to

2:23

cross the start finished line because he was disqualified

2:26

when the race was over. He was the first driver

2:28

to be disqualified at Talladega since nineteen seventy

2:30

two. But we know NASCAR went on a long period

2:33

there where they weren't disqualifying drivers. But

2:35

there were some issues with his windshield the way the class

2:37

were put on his windshield. So if you had Kevin

2:40

Harvick for a top three, a top five, a top

2:42

ten, head to head matchups, group matchups,

2:44

anything like that, Kevin Harvick ended up

2:46

I think, placing thirty eighth in the race.

2:48

So start thirty seven, way back thirty

2:50

eighth, and it's a good thing for Kevin. He was already

2:52

out of the playoffs, so this really doesn't affect

2:55

his playoffs standing any But that doesn't happen very

2:57

often.

2:57

I will say, if the pit crew would have had

3:00

Kevin Harvick to win and we would have lost on that, I would have said,

3:02

guys, I'm retiring for the end of the year. I'll be back. I'll see

3:04

in twenty twenty four.

3:06

Well we won't. We want to talk about picks

3:08

right now because it was a very rough, very rough

3:10

week for picks. But then again, it gets like that when you're

3:13

at Talladega. But speaking of picks and speaking

3:15

of odds, Ryan Blaney was a winner for some people

3:17

this week. He was twelve to one to win the race

3:19

of plus three hundred for a top three.

3:22

He won group at plus two seventy.

3:24

He also helped Ford get the manufacturer

3:26

prop at plus one thirty five, and his

3:28

only head to head matchup was with Brad

3:31

Keselowski, and that was even, as

3:33

were most of our head to heads. They were even. But

3:35

you know that twelve to one, and granted every driver

3:38

was at least a double digit favorite, but

3:40

a twelve to one nice return there. A

3:42

plus three hundred even for a top three

3:44

for a guy who already had two wins at Talladega

3:47

on his you know, in his resume.

3:49

Pretty impressive.

3:50

That's the only thing I love about It's it's

3:53

the pain of betting plate

3:55

races, but it's also the joy of when you hit one

3:57

of these, because you know you're going to hit a double digit winner,

4:00

and you get guys that are you know, most of the time

4:02

are going to be in single digits, you know, plus five

4:04

hundred and so on and so forth. So to

4:06

luck out, which I thankfully have done

4:09

a couple times this year this race, not

4:11

so much with Brad recking out, but those.

4:15

It is one of my favorite races to bet because

4:17

I feel like at some point your driver

4:20

that you think is going to win, you know you bet to

4:22

win, is up there at the front and is

4:24

competing.

4:25

Well, I know at Keslowski to win, and then he actually

4:27

was running up front for a while and then he

4:29

decided to bang a little too hard on a rookies

4:32

bumper Carston Hostavar and create a big wreck.

4:34

Well, let's look at our top ten. William Byron he

4:36

gets a top three, finishing second at a plus

4:38

four hundred and Denny Hamlin was plus

4:40

four fifty for a top three. But then some interesting

4:43

names that we see in the top ten. Corey Lajoy

4:45

one of the best runs of his career getting

4:47

a fourth place finish. Austin Sendrick, who

4:50

we know this is one of his better type of race

4:52

tracks coming in here with a fifth place finish.

4:54

Justin Haley, another guy getting a sixth place

4:56

finish, Chase Elliott there, Ryan

4:59

priest an eighth, and how about our hometown

5:01

guy, Riley Herps. He only runs about

5:03

four cup races a year. Riley comes

5:06

in with a ninth place finish. He led a

5:08

lot of laps early on in that race. I think

5:10

he really impressed a lot of the veterans

5:12

that were out there. They trusted him, they stayed behind

5:14

him. And then Daniel Suarez, that was a kind

5:17

of a good shot in the arm for that team getting

5:19

a top ten. But some get names up there

5:21

like La Joy, Cindric Haley, Priest Herbs.

5:23

Five of the top ten right there kind of catches everybody

5:26

by surprise.

5:26

Especially Riley Herps. I was talking to you beforehand.

5:29

Riley probably had a really really good number for a

5:31

top ten. And he, as

5:33

you said, led five times for ten

5:35

laps. He was strong. And Ryan Blaney

5:37

in the post race said, I got to give a big shout

5:40

out to Riley Herps. He pushed me well, he did

5:42

his job and unfortunately he got hooked by le

5:44

Joy there at the end, didn't get the finish that he

5:46

wanted to. Also, as somebody who had

5:48

Corey Lajoy, I was screaming in my car, come on, Corey,

5:51

come on, Corey, the picker who needs to get back.

5:52

You got fifty one.

5:54

He was close. But you know, that's

5:57

that's the greatness

5:59

of these type of races. You see this top

6:01

ten. It's a mixed mash of people who you don't

6:04

really expect to see and it kind of gives

6:06

you a you know, good days like man we finished,

6:08

you know, for Corey, La Joy finished fourth for Riyler Herbs and finished

6:11

ninth. We let some laps. You don't get to do that on

6:13

a week to week basis.

6:14

No, And when if we mentioned earlier, how Ryan Blaney

6:16

getting that win locks him into the round of

6:18

eight along with William Byron. So there's six

6:20

spots up for grabs right now going into

6:23

this weekend. It's a cutoff race at

6:25

the Bank of America Roval in Charlotte.

6:28

And you know, I think a lot of guys, probably for the most

6:30

part, should be able to feel somewhat comfortable

6:32

because this is a track. If you really can just

6:34

keep your car on the course and have a decent run,

6:37

you should be okay. Probably the

6:39

guy who's inside the window that

6:41

is certainly the most nervous is Brad Kaslowski.

6:43

He is sitting at the bottom thanks to being

6:45

in that crash, and he was in good shape before

6:48

Talladega. He gets in that crash, and

6:50

so Tyler Reddick, which is you know, he is

6:52

just two points behind Brad Kaslowski,

6:55

and then nine points back is Bubba Wallace, who's

6:57

Tyler Reddick's teammate. So you got two teammate

7:00

they're both on the outside here battling for that other

7:02

position, Ross chess Stain is one

7:05

point behind Bubba Wallace. He got caught up in a

7:07

wreck that he was probably being a little too

7:09

aggressive when Ricky Stendhouse Junior ran at

7:12

a fuel and then you got Kyle Busch who basically

7:14

the only chance Kyle Busch has really got to get in

7:16

is going to be to win this race, win this race

7:19

at Charlotte. So do you think

7:21

Kaslowski's going to hang on to that last position?

7:23

Do you see Reddick, Wallace or Chesstain

7:25

bumping up in there?

7:26

I mean, that's tough. That was a tough, tough incident

7:29

for Brad who had probably the

7:31

best car out there at Talladega and then gets caught

7:33

up in a wreck, but also gets caught up in a wreck, you know, running

7:35

twenty fifth or whatnot. So I am

7:38

really nervous for Brad to make it in second round

7:40

because you look at it, Tyler Reddick is really

7:42

really good at the road courses. Ross Chastain

7:45

has wanted a road course before. He has

7:47

a capability of win. Kyle Busch, you never know with him.

7:49

Bubba's the one where I'm kind of like, I

7:51

don't know, But if you go back to the Watkins Glen

7:54

Race with Bubba when he needed

7:56

to have a good run because of Michael McDowell's

7:58

win at Indy, Bubba I had probably

8:00

his best performance, he said. Now, I work so hard for that. So

8:03

if I'm Brad, I'm hoping somebody

8:05

in front of me, probably not Chris Buscher, but somebody

8:07

in front of me has has a mistake

8:10

or you know, a crash that I can kind of

8:12

coast my way through well.

8:13

And I think, you know, you can look at what these

8:15

guys have done in the past and Ross Chastay and he's been

8:17

really good at CODA, at Circus the Americas

8:19

too. But I think the thing we've got to look at is

8:21

going to look at qualifying because these

8:24

these stage points are going to be incredibly

8:27

important to try to gain some points early,

8:29

and if you don't qualify well, then there's a pretty

8:31

good chance you're probably not going to get a

8:34

good finish in stage one. Now that doesn't mean you can't

8:36

come back and win the race.

8:37

Now, if I'm not mistaken, we're bringing back the

8:39

cautions for the stages, right, that is correct,

8:41

so you won't have that kind of that

8:43

gamble that we see.

8:46

Correct, but you won't have that, but you still have

8:48

the stages. And I'm just saying that if and

8:50

these stages are not law, yeah, you know you're running

8:52

a road course down there. I mean, you know, we don't have them any

8:54

laps around this race. So these these stages

8:56

are going to be short. And if you don't qualify,

8:58

well, I think that's going to hurt you. And picking up the stage points.

9:01

I think the qualifying is going to be incredibly importment.

9:03

So we miss we mentioned the fact that this weekend we're going

9:05

to Charlotte. You know, we look at our next

9:08

five races and guess what, folks, that takes

9:10

us through the end of the season. As soon as

9:12

Charlotte is over, we kick off the Round of

9:14

eight right here in Las Vegas

9:17

for the South Point four hundred at Las Vegas Motor

9:19

Speedway. Then we head down to Miami Homestead

9:22

Raceway for the for the next race

9:24

of the Round of eight, and then we go to the shortest

9:26

track on the circuit, Martinsville Speedway, my

9:28

hometown, Martinsville, Virginia, for the Xfinity

9:30

five hundred, and after that we're only

9:32

going to have four drivers left heading to the season

9:35

finale in Phoenix, coming back out

9:37

west, so it is definitely getting down

9:39

to the the kimble.

9:41

The seasons are almost it's.

9:43

The hand grinding time, you know, the teeth

9:45

grinding time.

9:45

I will say with this next round, it's going to be I

9:48

like having two mile and a half tracks at Vegas

9:50

and at Homestead. We've seen how well this car has

9:53

run in those type of packages,

9:55

and we'll see

9:57

how how Martinsville goes. Unfortunately, the short track,

9:59

as a great as the new car has been, with

10:02

these intermediate tracks, the short tracks they've really

10:04

struggled. And unfortunately we banned the favorite

10:06

move of all time, so we won't see anybody ride

10:08

the wall in the last lap. So I'm

10:11

looking forward to those two races. We'll see the

10:13

last race at Martinsville.

10:14

Yeah, we won't have the Hail Melon, Hail Mellen.

10:17

That won't be happening because you know, you think about how crazy

10:19

that was that it's been a year ago almost now that

10:22

we had that. Well, you know, this weekend we're

10:24

going to the Roval and I tell you what surprises me. Why I

10:26

didn't even realize this until I looked it seems

10:29

like it was just the other day that we made

10:31

the decision at Charlotte that we were going to go to the

10:33

Roval and not run the one

10:35

point five mile super Speedway.

10:37

This is a sixth race that we've had on

10:39

the Roval, and we've got a lot of different guys.

10:41

I mean, Ryan Blaney won the first win. He probably shouldn't

10:44

have. Martin Trix Junior kind of that one.

10:46

Jimmy Johnson kind of ran all over him.

10:49

Chase Elliott, he's got two wins here, and here's

10:52

Chase Elliott's in here with five races to go looking

10:54

to find a way to get a win. I mean, if somebody

10:56

come into the season thinking that Chase Elliott's

10:59

not going to win a race, I mean I told him they were nuts.

11:01

Now, I wasn't counting on him, you know, breaking his leg

11:04

and a snowboarding incident either.

11:07

But it's just kind of shocking. And like Christopher

11:09

Bell, he won this race last year. Christopher

11:11

Bell sneaky good on these type road

11:13

courses. You know, he won it Daytona the first time

11:15

we ran that road course down there, it was during the COVID

11:17

time. And then he's got he got the win here

11:19

on the roll last year. So there's a lot of different guys we can look

11:22

at.

11:22

He kind of kind of did that hail Mary, like last

11:24

ditch effort to win. I believe both the roll and if

11:26

I'm not mistaken Martinsville last year.

11:28

Right, Yes, that's true, he did.

11:31

He did. He did walk up, walk

11:33

offs, walk off.

11:34

There we go, let's let's use the property.

11:36

Yes, walk off wins. Absolutely

11:39

So anyway we come back on Gone Racing, we'll

11:42

start getting into our odds to win the race

11:44

and we'll move into the top three for this weekends

11:47

race. At the robo.

11:52

Here are three reasons Zen is America's

11:54

number one nicotine pouch. We use food

11:57

grade ingredients. We have a wide selection of

11:59

varieties and they all come in two

12:01

strengths. Fine is in at a store

12:03

12:04

Warning, this product contains nicotine.

12:05

Nicotine is an addictive chemical.

12:18

This is Gone Racing, Feasin's

12:21

premiere NASCAR betting podcast.

12:23

Here are your.

12:23

Hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan Gone

12:25

and Las Vegas Motor Speedways Jeff

12:27

Motley.

12:29

Stage two for Gone Racing

12:31

this week. And know that it is not Brendan Gone.

12:33

He did not all of a sudden shed one

12:35

hundred pounds and twenty five years

12:38

or whatever it is. I'll let you know.

12:39

Brendan Brennan's okay. I know you guys been talking a lot

12:41

of smack about the pit crew and all of our stuff.

12:44

You know, we're fifty some thousand units

12:46

behind. But nope, Brendan Brennan just unfortunately can't

12:48

be here back here next week.

12:49

Yeah, don't worry a nothing wrong. We've been texting with

12:51

him, but we really aren't even sure were you. But

12:54

anyway, that's why Tom check who when you hear

12:56

us talking about our pit crew, he's

12:59

he's I guess he's our crew chief on the pit crew

13:01

or with Karina and Isaiah get upset if we

13:03

called you the crew chief of the pit.

13:04

Crew, I'm kind of

13:06

the I don't know. I think a Karna

13:08

would be the crew chief.

13:09

Well, based on the picks, all of you guys are Denny Hamlin's

13:12

pit crew center. So it's been a rough

13:14

one. No one hurts, okay,

13:17

And with that we will start talking.

13:18

About the gas at.

13:20

The roval in Charlotte. So before we get

13:22

into the odds to the odds

13:24

to win the race, just take a quick little look at

13:27

who's good and who's not. So good good

13:29

at Charlotte. Chase Elliott five

13:31

races here, he's got two wins. He's the only guy with multiple

13:34

number of wins at this race course. But

13:36

some other guys with some amazing runs. You know, Ryan

13:38

Blaney, he's got to win here. He's got

13:40

four top tens and five starts. Alex

13:43

Bowman's finished in the top ten in all four

13:45

races he's run here, including two top

13:47

fives. Kevin Harvick's got three top

13:49

tens and two top fives, a Kyle

13:51

Busch two top tens, two top fives. I mean,

13:53

there's a lot of guys who've had great success

13:56

here at this racetrack, and I think you can take

13:58

a look and realize almost any of those

14:00

guys could win. And the guy we didn't even mention is

14:02

Chris Buscher, who has shown himself to be a much

14:04

more accomplished road racer than he used

14:06

to be, and we know how successful he's been over the second

14:08

half of this season.

14:09

Yeah, that's a very good point there

14:11

on Busher. That's aother guy that I'm looking at the odds. Another guy

14:14

that's not on this list I think is going to be up at the

14:16

front, who's been running really well, especially

14:18

on the road courses this year it has been Michael McDowell.

14:20

But man, you look at the numbers for Chase Elliott.

14:22

I think Chase Elliott is number one famboy

14:26

for the roll and saying please do

14:28

not get rid of this racetrack for me, I am absolutely

14:31

phenomenal. And another one, you know, as you

14:33

mentioned Alex Bowman, very sneaky

14:35

good. We don't really think of Bowman and road

14:37

courses that well.

14:38

Yeah, but he seems to have done well here. You know, Chase Elliot.

14:40

One of those races he won, he ran through a tire barrier,

14:43

you know, it's fin all the way to the rear of the field and still

14:45

came back through.

14:45

And one they were playing a NASCAR replay at the gym

14:48

the twenty twenty one race. Remember

14:50

when Chase Elliot got taken out by Kevin

14:52

Harvick and then Harvick got spooked out by

14:54

Elliott, so he went straight head on into the wall.

14:56

Yes, I do remember that. See, there's been some

14:59

excitement at the robles, so I would expect it again

15:01

this Sunday as well. All right, let's start taking a look

15:03

at our odds to win.

15:04

No.

15:04

Big surprise then that Chase Elliott comes

15:06

in as our favorite at plus six hundred,

15:09

William Byron is six fifty, Tyler Redick

15:11

plus seven hundred, Michael McDowell, who

15:13

why I just mentioned, comes in along with Kyle Larson

15:15

at plus nine hundred. Aj Allmendinger's

15:17

ten to one, Martin Trux Junior twelve to one, Kyle

15:20

Busch fifteen to one, Denny Hamlin,

15:22

Daniel Suarez, Christopher Bell at eighteen,

15:24

Ty Gibbs at twenty, Ryan Blaney

15:26

and Chris Busher at twenty two, Ross

15:28

Chas Stain and Joey Logano at

15:31

twenty eight.

15:32

The one thing that annoys me with these odds

15:35

is Chase Elliot's plus six hundred. I know

15:37

he's won, you know, multiple races

15:39

here and whatnot, but Chase just hasn't

15:41

had that it factor so far this year

15:44

on the road courses. The

15:46

guys that I'm really looking at Jeffer,

15:49

the guys that are kind of a little bit desperate, look like

15:51

Chris Busher when he get in a Ross Chess Stain

15:53

who won at CODA last year twenty eight to one.

15:56

Another guy I know he's not in the playoffs, but Ty

15:58

Gibbs has shown to be a very respectable

16:00

road course racer, and he's had some really good speed

16:03

over the last handful of weeks. He's just had some cruddy

16:05

luck the wreck on Pitt Road of Texas,

16:07

getting caught up in the wreck at Talladega. So

16:10

those are the type of guys that I would look

16:12

at, even the heck, even a Daniel

16:14

Suarez as well well.

16:15

And I think if you look at some of these guys too, or

16:18

first off, who won the race last year, Christopher

16:20

Bell eighteen to one? Ye who

16:22

won the first race here? Who who's really

16:25

throwing caution to the wind? Ryan Blaney

16:27

twenty two to one, Chris Busher

16:29

twenty two to I just think some of these

16:32

numbers are astronomical

16:34

for the accomplishments that these guys have done

16:36

on road courses, in particular how well

16:38

they've raced on the roval. So to me, I think there's some

16:40

real value out there. Maybe there's not as

16:43

much value in taking Chase Elliott at plus six

16:45

hundred, but even to pick a winner at plus

16:47

six hundred, I mean, it's not a horrible number.

16:49

I probably would stay away from it if it were me. And

16:52

I think Almendinger. That's another one I was going, but

16:54

I think his numbers too good because you know, we all

16:56

we kind of went into this season thinking, man,

16:58

there's seven road courses on the schedule,

17:01

Almendinger's going to make the playoffs. Omni

17:03

this a j Omeninger has

17:05

not even run well on the road courses. Didn't run

17:07

that well in Chicago on the street.

17:09

I think his best one was Watkins

17:11

Glen. I believe he finished. He definitely finished top

17:13

five. I think it was a third. But yeah, that was another

17:16

one that he has not been. It's

17:18

almost like Chase Elly. He hasn't been that dominant

17:21

driver that we expected. Although last year,

17:23

just kind of going off the stats, he led

17:25

three times for twenty four laps. And another guy

17:28

that led for twenty seven laps and

17:30

is looking for at least some momentum going in at twenty twenty

17:32

four is Joey Logano, and Logano's sitting

17:34

at twenty eight to one to win.

17:35

Yeah, and I think sometimes you get these guys like Joey

17:38

Logano. I mean, now that Ryan Blaney

17:40

is in the playoffs, they don't have to worry about trying to help

17:42

Ryan get in. Then Joey can kind of go for it

17:44

if you will, But I'm kind

17:46

of with you. I mean, I think there's a lot of guys with some great

17:49

value there. Now let's look a look at page

17:51

two, and I'm

17:53

even more blown away by some of the numbers here. On play

17:55

page two, Kevin Harvick and Austin Cindric

17:57

are thirty to one, Alex Bowman thirty five

17:59

to one, Chase Brisco forty five, Eric

18:02

Jones and Brad Kasilowski's sixty five,

18:04

Justin Haley eighty, Zane Smith

18:06

making a rare Cup start one hundred to one along

18:08

with Ryan Priest, Ricky Stenhouse Junior,

18:11

Bubba Wallace and Austin Dillon, Todd

18:13

Gilliland, Mike Rockenfeller, Corey Lajoy

18:15

and Austin Hill all at two fifty to

18:17

one. Austin will be racing in the

18:19

Beard Motorsports car that Brendan is

18:22

are.

18:23

He's like the I don't know see the VP of Competition

18:26

VP.

18:26

Of Competition or I'm not even sure

18:28

what his title is, but he's got something like that. Mike

18:30

rockenfeller'll probably be a Childress built

18:33

car that he's in. We don't see rock and Feller

18:35

that often except when we go to the road courses.

18:37

But are there some numbers that jump out at you on this page?

18:40

I think Alex Bowman, if you believe

18:42

in him, with the stats from last year.

18:44

Four top tens and four races on the rod, thirty

18:47

five to one.

18:47

I'd be another one maybe for you know other markets

18:49

that offer a top five, a top three for

18:53

Bowman Man. I'll tell you what Brad

18:55

is at sixty five to one, he needs

18:57

to basically win. That's why I'm a little concerned

18:59

with with Brad in this race, because he

19:02

hasn't been as as good

19:04

of a road course racer in his career. That's

19:07

about it. On on on this page though, Jeff

19:11

Fight, maybe you know do you do? You say? Chase

19:13

Briscoe? Who's you know?

19:16

We seen some good speed out of him, but on

19:18

road courses.

19:18

Certainly the guy I like here is the fact you could

19:21

get Alex Bowman at thirty five to one, I think is pretty

19:24

pretty incredible, to be honest with you. Okay, let's

19:26

start getting into our top threes. We think there are some

19:28

of these guys maybe some value here and

19:30

some maybe not. Chase

19:32

Elliott is our favorite on our top threes at plus one

19:34

seventy five William Byron plus

19:36

one eighty, Tyler Reddick plus two hundred,

19:39

Michael McDowell plus two to fifty, Kyle Larson

19:41

two sixty, Almundinger two seventy

19:43

five, true X three point fifty, Kyle Busch

19:45

four fifty, Denny Hamlin, Daniel

19:47

Suarez, Christopher Bell five hundred,

19:50

Gibbs at five point fifty, Blaney and

19:52

Busher six hundred, Chastain eight hundred,

19:54

Legano at eight hundred.

19:55

I'm gonna give you a sneak peek here. The pit crew

19:58

does have a top three back in

20:00

this market, and it's Christopher Bell.

20:02

I like what Christopher Bell

20:05

has done here in the past. You

20:07

know, he's a little bit more

20:09

comfortable in the points right now compared

20:12

to where he was last year. But I think this

20:14

is one where I feel that this is going to be a Gibbs

20:16

dominated race, and I think it's going to be led by by

20:19

Bell other guys. Michael

20:21

McDowell two fifty is an interesting

20:23

number, but then look at the guys that are kind

20:25

of desperate, well, Ross Chesty and Chris Busher

20:29

not that value on that.

20:31

Well, you may be right there, And I think it kind of goes

20:33

back when we were talking about the odds to win the race.

20:35

I think sometimes the top three is mirror those and

20:37

I think when I'm talking about guys like you mentioned

20:39

Christopher Bell, a prime example

20:42

of Ryan Blaney and Chris Busher, I

20:44

think those guys all bring incredible,

20:46

incredible value there. Like I would really stay

20:48

away from the top. I really don't like going

20:51

and putting that putting something on Elliott Byron

20:53

or Red, especially in art little contest where you only get

20:55

five picks.

20:56

So when you're down one hundred units, you

20:58

need a couple.

20:58

You know you're gonna throw a hell, Mary might as well take Bubba

21:01

to win the race.

21:01

That's right, all right?

21:03

Just take a look at page two of our top threes.

21:05

Do we have page two of our top threes? Or my paperwork

21:08

is all?

21:09

I guess I might have stabled it wrong for you.

21:10

Yeah, it's fine, that's fine. It's actually a

21:12

we're being professionally unprofessional, even when Brendan's

21:15

not here. So Kevin Harvick, Austin

21:17

Sendrick or plus eight point fifty, Alex Bowman

21:19

ten to one, Chase Brisco eleven, Eric

21:22

Jones, and Brad Keselowski sixteen, Justin

21:24

Haley twenty, Zaane Smith, Ricky

21:26

Stenhouse at twenty five, Ryan and

21:28

also Bubba Wallace, Ryan Priest

21:30

and Austin Dillon are twenty eight, Todd

21:32

Gillilan, Mike Rockenfelter, Corey Lajoy,

21:34

Austin Hill all at fifty to one.

21:37

So I think we go back to, you know, with

21:39

Alex Bowman, how strong he has been here

21:42

at the roval. That's a that's a good number at

21:44

ten to one. You mentioned Bubba Wallace. He

21:46

did finish seventh year last year. I

21:48

know this isn't his strong

21:52

suit, but Bubba has

21:54

seen a big increase this year in a lot

21:56

of areas, and you know, I think if he wants

21:58

to be considered, you know, a top championship

22:01

caliber driver is to exceed at

22:03

the places where he's

22:05

not known to be really good at.

22:07

So maybe, I mean that's a

22:09

big number that maybe he'll gamble and

22:12

try to you know, throw a

22:14

hell Mary and pick up a win.

22:15

Well, and I could see that and then maybe it's going

22:17

to be one of those situations where it's you

22:19

know, bring home the steering wheel or the trophy for

22:22

Bubba Wallace. You mentioned Alex Bowman.

22:24

I mean to me, that is the first one that I circle up

22:26

there at ten to one. The other guy who I think

22:28

has got a really good number because the guy is just he's

22:31

really kind of snuck up and been incredibly

22:33

consistent over the second half

22:35

of the season. Is Eric Jones coming in there to

22:37

sixteen to one, the same numbers that Brad

22:40

Kaseilowski's got.

22:41

Yeah, I've liked what Eric Jones and Legacy

22:43

Motorsports has done these last handful of weeks. Haven't

22:45

got the results every week, but they

22:47

have been. They're starting to figure it out as they make

22:49

the move to Toyota next year.

22:51

Well that'll do it for our segment two of Gone

22:53

Racing. When we come back, we will start breaking

22:56

down the driver head to heads and then we will

22:58

get into our group matchups as well.

23:51

Yes, back here on Gone Racing, but not with

23:54

former NASCAR driver Brendan Gon. We've got

23:56

pit crew member Wyat tom Check setting

23:58

in for Brendan this week. Brendan's

24:00

off doing something we don't really know what.

24:02

But he's he's on assignments.

24:05

Well, yeah, he's like an international man of mystery

24:07

sometimes. You know, he owns like four companies

24:09

and he's got so he's got his hands in a

24:12

lot of Not to mention, he's got a car

24:14

racing in Charlotte this weekend.

24:15

That's I thought. I thought he was going to Charlotte

24:17

early.

24:17

But yeah, I don't think he's in Charlotte yet.

24:19

So he is going to Charlotte, but you know, and

24:21

then we got a busy week next week. We have the Brendan

24:24

Gaughan Celebrity Blackjack

24:26

Tournament next Are you.

24:27

More excited for that than the race?

24:29

No, oh, okay, No, Brendan

24:31

might be. Brendon might be we got a great turnout,

24:33

then we're gonna have a we're gonna have we got

24:36

two former Cup champions, one of which is in the

24:38

NASCAR Hall of Fame. We're going to have

24:40

a former Exfinity Series champion. We have one of the

24:42

top guys on the circuit this year. We have a former

24:45

captain of the Golden Knights, and we got a lot of good,

24:47

good players out there, so people should come

24:49

out. It's free too, five to seven at

24:51

the South Point on next Thursday night. So

24:54

love to have people out. Okay, but

24:56

we digress enough. Promoting

24:59

of Brendan's Black Tournament. Our

25:01

driver head to Hansbrough. Why we're really really not excited.

25:03

It almost feel like I'm doing these for Talladega

25:06

all over again. With the numbers

25:09

here, you know, the biggest number on the board

25:11

Tyler Redick a plus one ten against Chase

25:13

Elliott's minus one thirty and the only

25:15

other plus numbers we even have, Ryan Blaney is a plus

25:17

one oh five to Ty Gibbs minus

25:19

one twenty five and Austin Cindric a plus

25:21

one oh five to Ryan Blaney's

25:23

minus one twenty five.

25:24

I'm kind of surprised that, you know, like you said,

25:26

this feels like Daytona or Talladega

25:29

race. Not a lot of options. The

25:31

two that I can find that I really

25:33

pop out to me is the Tyler Redick plus one ten over

25:35

Chase Elliott. We don't know, you

25:38

know, Chase's hasn't been you

25:40

know, he has not been him to quote a great

25:42

follow the money reference on road

25:44

courses this year. Tyler Reddick

25:46

has been a lot better, you

25:48

know, the win at Coda plus

25:51

one ten. I like that number. And then Austin Cindric

25:53

plus one oh five over Ryan Blaney. We don't know how aggressive

25:55

Ryan Blaney's going to be. And Cindric this is kind

25:57

of his quote unquote best style of racing

26:00

is the road courses. So that'd

26:02

be one i'd probably take a look at.

26:04

Yeah, it's interesting the one that there's only one

26:06

that I have any interest in whatsoever.

26:08

And it's interesting you didn't even mention that one. And

26:11

that's Ryan Blaney plus one oh five against

26:13

ty Gibbs at minus won twenty five. I mean, Blainey's

26:15

got four top tens in

26:17

five races here, He's got a win here, and

26:20

he's also kind of like, hey, let's just roll

26:22

up some more bonus points here, you know. I

26:24

mean, that's really all what he's trying to do, right, He wants

26:26

some more bonus points going into that round

26:28

of eight to try to help him advance into the final four

26:30

at Phoenix. So I just don't see

26:32

what ty Gibbs has done to justify getting

26:35

being the favorite over Ryan Blaney.

26:36

But yeah, and then another thing is that ty Gibbs has just

26:38

had such cuddy luck really

26:40

since I would say Daytona.

26:42

On some of which has been of his own

26:44

making too. So all right, so

26:46

we told you we are to spend a whole lot of time on driver head

26:48

to head. So let's get straight into our group matchups

26:51

and our Group A. We got quite a disparity

26:53

this week in Group A, and probably a surprising

26:55

name showing up in Group A, Chase

26:57

Elliott, No big deal is that? No big surprises?

27:00

A favorite at plus two to fifteen, Tyler

27:02

Redick plus two seventy, William Byron plus

27:04

two seventy five, and Michael McDowell

27:07

at plus three twenty five.

27:09

Well, if you're feeling a little frisky, I like the McDowell

27:11

plus three twenty five. We've seen

27:14

Michael you know. I mean it

27:16

was a dominant win that he had at

27:18

the Indie road course where he didn't It wasn't a cheapye.

27:21

He he outraced Chase. He outraced

27:23

a lot of these top guys

27:25

that we consider to be the you know, the cream

27:27

of the cream of the crop when it comes to road

27:29

course racing. So I like that number, But

27:31

I really do believe with Tyler Reddick

27:34

and him needing a

27:36

win at plus two seventy,

27:38

that is probably the bet that I would go with. I don't trust

27:40

Chase William. It's

27:43

kind of like what you said right now Byron's one.

27:45

It ran really well with McDowell and Indiana.

27:48

But I think maybe William might be in the same

27:50

boat as as a Ryan Blaney.

27:52

Like he won, he's already into the

27:54

next round, so you know what, let me

27:56

get some stage points, but some of these guys might move me out.

27:58

He might be the guy to get moved out of the way for a win.

28:00

Yeah. And I see what you're saying about McDowell, don't.

28:04

I don't see lightning striking twice for

28:06

McDowell, So I don't know that

28:08

I would go that route. I kind of probably if

28:10

I had to pick one here at B Tyler Reddick, I

28:12

think I'm gonna stay away from this group this week because

28:14

I just don't really have a strong feeling.

28:16

It's one of those like you know, Brendan and I talk

28:19

about a lot. You can make a case for every guy

28:21

that's in this group why he should win it, and

28:23

you can make a case why he shouldn't win it. So

28:26

I think it'd be very, very difficult to make a pick

28:28

here in Group A, but there's certainly a lot of value,

28:30

like you said in Michael McDowell, all our group

28:32

B, aj Allmendinger is our favorite at plus

28:34

two forty, Kyle Larson and Martin

28:37

Trix Junior both at two forty five, and a guy

28:39

whose name we haven't even mentioned in

28:41

Group B, well we mentioned him because he got a top

28:43

three last week at Talladega after overcoming

28:46

a penalty in the pits and getting a lap down

28:48

and having to make his lap up Denny Hamlin.

28:51

And that number beside of Denny is plus three

28:53

sixty five, And yes, I read that correctly,

28:55

plus three sixty five for

28:57

Denny Hamlin and Group B.

29:00

Very interesting, Danny. You know, the

29:02

big thing with Denny is can he avoid

29:04

shooting himself in the foot? We know Denny can can

29:07

lead up in the front any style of racing

29:10

he is. You know, I think

29:12

I really want to believe that for Denny, that this

29:14

is the year that he can put it all together and

29:16

get that elusive championship to kind of cement his

29:19

legacy. Because the

29:22

text you guys sent was like, Denny Hamlin, I'm like,

29:24

I kind of asked what happened, and I was like, I kind of know what happened.

29:27

Speeds up Pitt Road. It's like, dude, stop shooting

29:30

yourself in the foot. You're too good of a driver to

29:33

have to come back and race your guts

29:35

out just to get a top three at Talladey Gas.

29:37

So that's

29:39

a very interesting Number one guy. I want to kind of stay

29:42

away. Though we haven't really talked about. I don't know what's up

29:44

with Martin Trucks Junior. He does not have

29:46

it right now really since the start of the playoffs, but

29:48

for some reason, you know, he is still

29:51

sitting, you know, comfortably above

29:53

the cut line to make it to the round of eight. But I

29:55

don't really know what it's up with MTJ Well.

29:57

And that's because of all the points he built

29:59

up and his bonus points that he built up during

30:02

the all the winds and stage

30:04

wins he got during the season. So I'm

30:06

kind of with you there. You know, well, thing you met Denny this

30:08

week, though, you're gonna

30:10

speed on Pitt Road at Talladega, because you

30:12

know, if you come in with a group of cars, you better

30:14

get out with that group of cars because you lose that draft,

30:16

you're in trouble. You're gonna see most

30:18

of the pit stops that are gonna take place at

30:21

the Roval are gonna be under green. But

30:23

when you're pitting under green on a road

30:25

course like that, if you're a second slow,

30:28

big deal. Second slow doesn't kill

30:30

you at the roble. A second to Talladega.

30:33

Second to Talladega's half the front straight away almost

30:35

ye, So I think you've got a lot

30:37

more room for error. So I don't really

30:39

think the pit situation unless

30:42

it's really something egregious where he gets a one lap

30:44

penalty or something like that, that should

30:46

come into play quite as much. All right, let's

30:48

take a look at our group. See Kyle Busch Daniel

30:50

Suarez. The co favorites there, Christopher

30:53

Bell and Chris Bush are both coming in at

30:55

plus two seventy and holy smokes,

30:57

I mean Christopher Bell won this race life

31:00

year and we're dropping him down as one of the bottom

31:02

feeders in Group CE.

31:03

I tell you what. The two guys that I'm really high on

31:05

in this race that I think is a tough,

31:07

tough pick for me in Group SEE is Chris

31:10

Servell and Chris Buscher. You know, Bell won

31:12

this race last year. As we mentioned, Buscher has been red

31:14

hot in the second half of the season,

31:17

and they're the long shots. I

31:20

wouldn't if you said you went with one

31:22

of those two, I would say that's

31:24

a really good pick. I don't know about Suarez.

31:27

I know he's won at Sonoma, but obviously

31:29

he's not in the playoffs. And I'm

31:31

having a hard time trying to get a feel on Kyle Busch.

31:33

Well, Kyle's got to win this. I think Kyle

31:36

is definitely going into this race with the mentality that

31:38

he has to win. He's a lot of points back, and

31:40

he's also got three guys to climb over, So even

31:42

if he were to make up points on say, Brad

31:44

Keselowski, who's in eighth. He's also

31:46

got to make up points on Tyler Reddick and Ross

31:49

Chastain and Bubba Wallace, the guys

31:51

that are in front of him in ninth, tenth, and eleventh, And I

31:53

think there's really no way that he

31:55

can do that. Mathematically, yes, but no, realistically.

31:58

The only way he gets in is to win this race.

32:01

And I just really have not seen that out of that

32:03

team over the second half of the season.

32:05

Just really hot to start the start the year.

32:07

That win against at California, dominant win, He's

32:09

able to survive at Talladay to finally

32:11

get a plate race win where he hates

32:14

racing there, and then he wins that marathon

32:16

race at when I'm on the Blankard

32:19

Gateway. So three wins at the

32:21

you know, the first part of the year. It feels like, you know, the

32:23

switch to NBC has been the jinx

32:25

for Kyle.

32:25

Yeah, I guess it has. But I like your idea. I mean, Belle

32:27

and Busher to me one of those two guys

32:29

and that they're the long shots. Bet them both. Heck

32:32

you should win. Okay, Group D Ty

32:34

Gibbs is our favorite, Ryan Blaney and Joey

32:36

Logano both at plus two seventy and

32:38

Austin Stendrick at plus two ninety five. And

32:40

again, these these guys sitting these odds have got

32:42

a love affair with Ty Gibbs that that I

32:45

just don't share.

32:46

I do share the love with Tiger. I'm

32:49

believing in Ty Gibbs this week because he's

32:52

he's good on road courses. We saw it in the Infinity.

32:54

He's he's had a lot of good speed. I'm just hoping that

32:56

he just can avoid the bad

32:59

luck Blainey. I don't know how

33:01

aggressive he's going to be this race.

33:03

Well, what's he got to lose? Why not be aggressive

33:05

again? He wants to get so he can

33:07

get one playoff point by winning

33:09

stage one, and another one by winning stage two,

33:12

and then three more playoff points for

33:14

winning the race. Good, that's five playoff

33:16

points.

33:17

Ty Gibbs also looking for his first win. He might put

33:19

the bumper to him. One guy, though,

33:21

I want to, I want to have faith

33:23

in him, but every time I bet him, he just falls flame on

33:25

his face. Is Austin Cindric. I

33:28

just I don't know really

33:30

what to expect.

33:31

They're with him well, and I think one thing

33:33

with Austin Cindric. It's interesting that you mentioning me.

33:35

Austin Sindric was a guy who really

33:37

came into NASCAR in general

33:39

as being a very accomplished road racer

33:41

at a very young age. I mean, whether he was racing

33:43

one of those sports car races on the streets

33:46

of Long Beach or wherever he was. Cindric

33:48

was a guy who he could do those things. Okay,

33:52

we got one segment left on Gone Racing,

33:54

and we come back. We will give you our groups,

33:56

E our groups, f Manufacturer

33:59

Props, give you our pick for this week

34:01

at the robo.

34:23

This is Gone Racing, FISA's

34:25

premiere NASCAR vetting podcast. You're

34:28

your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

34:30

Gone and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

34:32

Jeff Mottley.

34:33

It's our final segment of Gone Racing. I am Jeff

34:36

Motley. That is not Brendan Gonn. That is

34:38

why Tom check He's part of our pit crew. Brendan's

34:40

not in this in today, but Brendan will be

34:42

back with us next week as we are talking all

34:45

things Las Vegas next week with the South

34:47

point four hundred. But in our final segment, we're Continuing

34:49

with our group matchups, we're moving along to Group E, where

34:52

Brad Kaslowski and Chase Briscoe are the co

34:54

favorites at plus two fifty. Ross Chastain

34:56

is at plus two sixty five and Justin Haley

34:59

comes in at plus three.

35:00

Ten yef one driver.

35:02

Here for me, it is Ross Chastain. I know I have,

35:05

you know, my love for Brad Keselowski, but I

35:07

don't see it here in on

35:09

the road courses. Chastain has proved it before

35:11

plus two sixty five. I don't see it with Justin

35:14

Haley. I don't even know why he's

35:16

in this group. To be honest with you. And Chase

35:18

Briscoe, no, I

35:20

think two playoff drivers, and I'm gonna go with

35:22

Chastain in this group plus two sixty

35:24

five.

35:24

Well, you know how when Brennan and I are doing

35:26

the show, we always have a group

35:28

that we say I'm not gonna

35:31

touch that group. I got no real

35:33

feel for this group. I mean, logic

35:35

tells me Brad Keselowski or

35:38

Ross Chastain should clearly win this

35:40

group because they're the two guys who have the most at

35:42

stake. Chastain just

35:44

he can get himself in trouble, and Briscoe has proven

35:47

himself on these types. I mean, I

35:49

remember back in Indianapolis when Briscoe and Denny

35:51

Hamlin had the battle a few years ago.

35:53

So I guess this one is just hard for me to

35:56

peg. And maybe that's why the numbers are so close. Except

35:58

for Justin Haley. I think it's really easy to

36:00

just mark Justin Haley off and say, Okay, it's gonna

36:02

be between the other three. But I don't really know which way

36:04

I would go on that one. So this one is my not

36:07

touching it.

36:08

Hey, Group A and Group EE for you pretty much?

36:10

Yeah, all right, So let's take a look at our final group.

36:12

Group F. Eric Jones is a favorite at plus two

36:14

fifty. Ryan Priese is plus Ryan.

36:17

Boy, that's a mouthful. Ryan Priese

36:19

is plus two seventy. Austin

36:22

Dillon and Ricky Stenhouse Junior're both coming in

36:24

at plus two seventy five.

36:26

This is kind of my group to say, I don't know, I

36:28

don't even know if I want to touch this. I don't know what to find

36:30

with it. You know, maybe

36:33

Eric Jones. How hot the Lacy Motorsports

36:35

has been over the last handful of weeks. Ryan

36:37

pries I and Austin Dealing are kind of the

36:39

two drivers I

36:42

feel like whenever they have an ounce of good

36:44

luck the racing god say Nope, you were going

36:46

to crash into the wall or something's going to happen to you,

36:48

they've had just a credible amount of creuddy

36:51

luck. Ricky's an interesting one,

36:54

but yeah, this one's just it. It's tough for

36:56

me. I'd say if you, if you force me to, I'd

36:58

go with Eric Jones.

37:00

Well, and I like Eric Jones here. In fact, I like Eric

37:02

Jones obviously more than you do, because

37:04

I really think he is the clear cut guy

37:06

in this group. He's been the most consistent driver

37:08

over the last eight or ten races. Doesn't

37:11

really seem to matter where he races, whether he's at

37:13

a super speedway like Talladega, he's running

37:15

a short track like Richmond, or he's over here on a road course

37:17

like we're going to see at Charlotte. Eric Jones seems

37:19

like he's very comfortable in all those cars. And

37:22

I actually like Eric Jones here. I think that's a

37:24

I think he's got a really good chance to win that groupard

37:26

Our last one is our manufacturer

37:29

prop and it's quite lopsided

37:31

this week. Clearly everyone thinks

37:33

that this is going to be a runaway for Chase

37:35

Elliott or Kyle Larson or William

37:38

Byron or Alex Bowman one of these chevyes.

37:40

Chevy's minus one oh five Toyota

37:43

with Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin and

37:45

Tyler Reddick plus two thirty five, and

37:48

the Ford's coming here at a plus two fifty

37:50

with Chris Busher, Keazlowski, Ryan

37:53

Blaney Logano. Wow, I'm

37:55

really surprised that Chevy is that heavy

37:58

of a favorite.

37:59

I might have screwed up and making my bets too quick,

38:01

because I like especially the

38:03

Toyota, the number that that's at two thirty

38:05

five, and then the Ford's we

38:07

saw McDonald win Bush has got an opportunity.

38:10

We've seen Blainey win here before. I

38:12

don't know why. Yeah, Chevy's that at high

38:14

of a of a favorite. The

38:16

one I probably circle is the toyotas.

38:19

Well, And that's the thing to me. I mean, I just think

38:21

there's some really really good Toyotas out there, and

38:23

I don't understand why the discrepancy is so big.

38:25

I'm completely with you, look, I

38:28

think if you went, if you look at this

38:30

way, if you were to go and say you want to bet both

38:32

of them, you can win money if a Toyota

38:34

or Ford wins. Now, I understand your betting against

38:37

Jase Elliott and Wiam Byron and Kyle Larson,

38:39

but I mean plus two thirty

38:41

five to minus one oh five. I mean that's almost like

38:43

getting a head to head in those two

38:45

right there. And I just you know, I like that. I

38:47

like the Toyota thing, and I think we're probably going to see

38:49

that reflected in somebody's picks before before

38:52

we make all of our picks. Okay, well,

38:54

speaking of our picks.

38:56

We don't have to.

38:57

We really don't. But you know, we kind of tell

38:59

everybody going into Talladega

39:02

that we do a show, because

39:04

we do a show every week. But when you

39:06

go into Talladega, you really

39:08

are rolling the dice. Now, Brendan hates that word

39:11

crap shoot, right, Well, guess what it is a

39:13

crap shoot because you don't know who's going to get caught in

39:15

the big wreck, who's gonna get in the draft

39:17

at the wrong time and the right time. And

39:19

that played out with our picks last week. Because

39:21

we all hung up goose

39:23

eggs. Now you guys are

39:26

used to hanging up goose eggs, Thanks Jeff.

39:29

But anyway, so I

39:31

mean, you know, I mean we almost

39:33

got it with Corey la Joy fifty five to one. That would

39:35

have been just so sweet. I think you guys,

39:38

I think everybody would have had to

39:40

mute me because we would have been up in the positive.

39:43

Brad that that one was a tough one because he

39:45

really had a winning car. Chris Busher really wasn't up there.

39:47

You know that. The disappointing one was I think was

39:49

for me was Bubba.

39:50

And I can see that. You know you had Bubba. We

39:52

had Bubba in a group, and we all

39:54

believed in Kaslowski. I picked him to win,

39:57

just like Pitt Crew did and Brendan had him

39:59

for a time three. I think Brendan

40:01

also, he's probably been a little bit on

40:03

the Austin Dillon bandwagon all year long, and Austin

40:05

I think's really kind of let him down. Austin for top

40:08

three, he got caught up in and I guess he got caught

40:10

up in the wreck with Kaslowski. Yeah he did, and

40:12

host.

40:12

Of ours thankfully for him. That was a kind of scary looking

40:15

wreck. It will kind of hit Kaslowski before

40:17

he hit the wall that had kind of, I don't know, decreased

40:20

some of the g force.

40:21

Yeah, no question that that that that had

40:23

helped the situation out, No question at all about

40:25

it. Okay, Well that brings us into our picks

40:27

for this week. So again as

40:29

we look at our season standings, which I have

40:32

just dropped below the Mendoza line

40:34

or whatever we call it here or the equator.

40:37

But you get to pick first, whyite?

40:38

So go ahead, all right for the pit crew with their

40:40

minus forty three units because I'm still blaming

40:42

Harrison Burton all the way back at Phoenix for taking

40:45

that went away from Kevin Arvik.

40:46

Fifty five to one would have been nice last year.

40:48

It would have been nice. Well, we don't have all

40:50

five winners to win. I talked about

40:52

it. I like Christopher Bell to finish in the top three

40:54

plus five hundred like what he did last year.

40:57

He's really strong on these road courses.

40:59

I think needs a good finish, doesn't

41:01

want to mess around and get any in on points. I think

41:03

he'll be up at the front like what Tyler Reddick

41:05

has done as well. And this is a desperate guy.

41:08

I have him to win Group A plus two seventy

41:10

five, believe it. In the b's

41:12

and Chris Buscher, he wins us a lot of tic

41:14

cashes, a lot of tickets at plus two seventy

41:18

you're not feeling Ty Gibbs. I think Ty Gibbs

41:20

is able to put together a clean race. He

41:22

doesn't run in anybody on Pitt Road on the track and

41:25

is able to win Group D and another

41:27

desperation guy, Ross Chastain to win Group

41:29

ET plus two sixty five.

41:31

Well, you'll be happy to know that we don't have any

41:33

of the same picks, and we're going head to head on

41:35

a couple of these.

41:36

All right, you're the closest one by like

41:39

fifty units away from me.

41:40

Well, I'm going to go with Alex Bowman

41:42

for a top three at ten to one. The

41:44

mister four top tens and four starts

41:47

at the roval, so I'm going to go with him with the

41:49

top three. The rest of my picks are going to be in the groups.

41:52

I just can't leave plus three sixty

41:54

five on Denny Hamlin in Group B sitting

41:57

out there and not touching it. So I'm going to go with Denny

41:59

Hamlin plus three sixty five in Group B.

42:02

I'm going to go into Group C, and just

42:04

like Wyatt, I believe in the Bees,

42:07

but I believe in Christopher Bell more than I

42:09

do Chris Busher, so

42:12

we do believe in the Bees. Not to sing

42:14

B.

42:15

Well, you know if I hope that you win

42:17

this one, but it's because Christopher Bell finished

42:19

in the top three.

42:20

Okay, well, okay, you can get that at a plus

42:22

two seventy. Then I'm going to go directly head

42:24

to head with you again in Group D. I am going

42:27

Ryan Blaney in Group D at plus two

42:29

seventy. I don't have the ty Gibbs

42:31

love, and I think it was pretty evident by

42:33

us talking about our groups that I really like Eric

42:35

Jones in Group F. I know he's the favorite

42:37

there, but I'm going to go Eric Jones and Group F.

42:40

And with that, I have to turn to my handy dandy

42:43

cell phone where Brendan texted

42:45

me his picks before the show, so

42:47

I will read his off. What did we talking about?

42:49

Love? I Love? He wrote

42:51

down the picks on the paper, then took

42:53

a screenshot of the paper and send it to you Instead

42:55

of just texting it.

42:57

Oh yeah, that's a good point. I don't know why

42:59

I did that. I never thought about that. And then

43:01

he makes me have to read his chicken scratch over here

43:03

too. All right, So and we talked about

43:05

how, oh, the head to heads aren't very good. Well,

43:08

mister I got a big lead, decided to be

43:10

mister conservative this week. He is

43:12

going with two head to heads. He has taken Tyler

43:14

Reddick over Chase Elliot at plus one ten,

43:17

and he likes the one that I liked in there, even though I didn't

43:19

pick it, Blaney over Gibbs, and nobody's

43:21

in on the Gibbs thing except for you. There, he's got

43:23

Blaanie over Gibbs plus one oh five. Then

43:25

he's going into group B where he is taking

43:28

Kyle Larson at plus two

43:30

forty five. He's got Brad Kay Brad

43:33

Keselowski plus two fifty to win Group E,

43:35

and Brendan is jumping all over that Toyota

43:38

that toyota bet. There. I think that toyota bet.

43:40

I think it's a good bet. I really really do like

43:42

that that toyota bet.

43:44

So trying to think Actually, I don't know if he bet

43:46

Chase Elliott last week there he doesn't have it.

43:48

I don't know, you know, he said he was going to run Chase

43:50

Elliot until he won, and this we even talked

43:52

about it. This is probably the last really

43:55

good chance that Chase Elliott has to win.

43:58

To agree, unless you think Martinsville. But I

44:00

mean, what we haven't seen is it's

44:03

been all playoff drivers, correct that one. We remember

44:05

last year the first three rounds all one

44:07

by non playoff drivers, which was extremely

44:10

rare, and I don't think you'll ever see that ever again.

44:12

But we've gone on a street now like the last eight or

44:14

nine playoff races from the end of last season

44:16

end of this season have all been won by playoff

44:18

drivers, and I think that's kind of the thing to me, right, cream

44:21

rises to the top.

44:22

I'm still waiting for the day that a non playoff

44:24

driver wins the championship race. So you gotta

44:26

have two burnouts, you.

44:29

Know, it's a good point. I would imagine

44:31

that that there'll be some point that that will happen. Well,

44:33

this weekend it is the Roval in Charlotte. But after

44:35

that, guess where we are coming to our

44:38

hometown here, Las Vegas, Nevada

44:41

for the south Point four hundred. Can't wait for that

44:43

race, But this weekend, tune in. It's

44:45

the Roval at Charlotte. You know chaos is going

44:47

to ensue. You never know what's gonna happen.

44:50
