This is Gone Racing, Fison's

0:04

premier NASCAR betting podcast. Here

0:06

are your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

0:08

Gonne and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

0:10

and Jeff Motley.

0:12

Yeah, it's another edition of Gone Racing. Jeff

0:14

Motley sitting here in the studio. Brendan Gone

0:16

is remote this week, so we'll see his picture

0:19

in the box area.

0:19

Is Brendan popping up? Brendan and

0:22

hey.

0:22

I mean we're going to wrap up this race of Pocono. But

0:24

Brendan, I'm trying to go down my scorecard here, Okay,

0:27

so let me get this right. Kyle Larson's

0:29

mad at Denny Hamlin, Alex Bowman's

0:31

mad at Denny Hamlin, Austin Dillon's

0:33

mad at Tyler Reddick, Ryan

0:35

Priest is mad at Corey Lajoy, and

0:38

Joey Logano's mad at the fire and safety crew.

0:40

Am I missing anybody?

0:42

Because we had it was like Pitt

0:44

Road at Bristol after that race?

0:47

Yeah, you know, but Pocono's

0:49

kind of got that way lately, right, I mean, Pocono

0:51

with the runs you get in the drag races and

0:53

the restarts, and Pocono's

0:55

become a fun race to watch. Eh,

0:58

but man, you're right after the race, I'm

1:00

still getting text and video clips

1:02

on Twitter and everything, where you know, this guy's

1:05

fighting that guy, and the Ryan

1:07

Priest thing runs back and just just starts

1:09

claubering on poor Corey.

1:11

And Corey Kevin's helming on inside the car.

1:13

So good for Corey, good move

1:15

in that case.

1:17

And the Joey Loganos thing, wow,

1:19

I mean, it's a good thing. We aren't

1:21

the other type of NASCAR shows. We try to focus

1:23

on betting. Because that was There's

1:26

a lot of things I'd have to say about it, but man, that was just

1:29

a lot of stuff going on there, but a

1:32

lot of great racing, and for three

1:34

guys right here, not a bad week

1:36

of betting.

1:37

For the three of us.

1:37

Hey, somebody got four right this week.

1:40

Four.

1:40

I'm just saying I got four out of five. Maybe

1:43

my best week of all time. All right, Brendon, let's

1:45

break them down a little bit real quick. So first

1:47

off, we're talking about Joey. I mean, first off, you ever go

1:50

go on Twitter, you can find audio of Joey in the

1:52

fire and safety crew at Pocono not happy with them,

1:54

but then thinking about how upset he was

1:56

about that, and then you watch the video of

1:58

the car being drug around the

2:00

track to Pitt Road and then dropped facing in

2:02

the wrong direction in Pitt Lane. It

2:05

must I can't believe how Joey kept

2:07

his composure when he did his interview in

2:09

front of the care center.

2:11

That was pretty remarkable.

2:13

Yeah, well, because he'd already vented where

2:16

he'd already got his vent in. Let's just say

2:19

it was impressive. But you

2:21

know, Joey, poor day, bad day for Joey, bad

2:23

day for that deal. But we said,

2:25

man them, them freaking them Chevyes and

2:27

them Toyota's were absolutely

2:30

fantastic. And it

2:32

came down to a battle of Toyota

2:34

on the restarts, you know, lining up Toyota Chevrolet

2:37

where their teammates. Teammates were even mad

2:39

at each other, Danny and Martin

2:41

Truex, we were kind of having interesting

2:43

conversations.

2:44

On the radios about who to line up with.

2:46

It boiled down to a heck of a restart

2:49

showdown and great race and even without

2:51

the restarts.

2:51

Yeah, and Denny Hamlin gets to win.

2:53

Denny, who's been probably the top guy

2:55

at Pocono probably for the last fifteen

2:58

years, talk about the It was

3:00

controversy they said for that last pass.

3:02

I mean, he didn't give Larson a lot of room

3:04

obviously, but we're also late in the race. We're

3:06

running for the checkered flag. I

3:08

mean, isn't that kind of what we've come to right now?

3:10

Is?

3:10

I mean?

3:11

It's just good hard racing, and I

3:13

mean two guys are trying to win the race. And you know, Larson,

3:16

look, he was he was first on the restart. He

3:18

could have chosen the inside line and driven Danny

3:20

up the track himself.

3:21

Right.

3:23

Absolutely, the bottom line looked like

3:25

it didn't get the launch as the outside

3:27

line, but you have that advantage you can

3:29

run up.

3:30

Now. Was this what Denny did to Ross

3:32

Chastain a year ago? No, he

3:34

was.

3:34

He was a little more aggressive, push Ross up a little

3:36

bit earlier, basically saying I don't care. This

3:39

was Denny drove hard. He left Kyle Alane.

3:41

They moved up Kyle. You

3:43

know at this point discretion and valor. Kyle

3:46

came into the wall pretty good there. But this

3:49

is am I supposed to say, Oh

3:52

gee, I gotta let you have

3:54

it. This is for the win man. He didn't reckon,

3:57

he didn't use him up. He didn't do it.

3:59

He just drove hard, lost

4:01

a little of the nose.

4:02

They kind of pushed up together and

4:04

Kyle was on the outside and it just didn't have

4:07

He didn't touch him if you look at him. It just they

4:10

ran up the track a little bit. So it's

4:13

for the win, and don't I don't knock

4:15

that move in this case. And Denny,

4:18

like you said, we talked about it in the last week's show. Who's

4:20

the number one guy at Pokono,

4:23

Denny Hamlin, and he just did it again.

4:24

Yeah, the only bad thing for Danny is there's no Pocono in

4:26

the playoffs. Well, let's look look at some of these numbers

4:29

that Danny put out for our betters last

4:31

week. He was a plus five to fifty to win, a

4:33

plus one fifty for a top three, plus

4:35

two forty five to win Group

4:37

A. He was on the negative number in all of his head

4:40

to heads against Truex, Bush and Larson,

4:42

but he also brought Toyota home with

4:44

a victory a plus one forty. A

4:46

couple of us really really liked that bet. By

4:49

the way, knowing that we had Danny

4:51

and Martin Truckx Junior driving a Toyota and Toyota

4:53

wasn't even the favorite. So very very

4:55

strong payout for Denny Hamlin for the betters, which

4:58

is really kind of remarkable when you think about the

5:00

fact that he's been the dominant guy at

5:02

Pocono all these years and yet he could give you this

5:04

kind of a return to the betters.

5:07

Yeah, we said that last week, but we gave the status

5:09

of who's been the best at Pocono. Denny

5:11

was at the top and a five

5:13

point fifty. You know, look, he was one of the favorites,

5:15

absolutely, but it's still a five to fifty decent return

5:18

the two forty five and grew Bay all

5:21

those things. You found good ways to get numbers

5:23

on him that we knew he was a

5:25

head to head. You know, he was a don't line

5:27

last week, right, we talked about where Negai

5:29

and neagive, but got Toyota the one forty.

5:31

I was happy about the Toyota one forty thing because at the

5:33

last second I jumped off to Michael mcdowll band Wagon,

5:36

which still won, but I got me to Toyota.

5:38

W absolutely and looking at the top three talking

5:40

about the toyotas Toyota swept the

5:42

top three positions, Tyler Reddick, he came in at

5:44

a plus four hundred finishing second,

5:46

and Martin Trix Junior was a plus one fifty.

5:49

Look down the rest of the rest of the top

5:52

ten. Ty Gibbs gets his first

5:54

ever top five finish. Ricky

5:56

Stenhouse Junior. Who's going to make the playoffs

5:58

now that we're locked into all those who have won

6:00

races, not counting Shane Van Giesbergan because

6:03

he's not eligible for the playoffs.

6:05

Harrison Burton with an eighth and

6:07

another top ten run for

6:09

the Legacy Motorsports team with with Eric

6:11

Jones, that's starting to show some life.

6:14

Yeah, they listen. You want to talk about some much

6:17

needed good runs.

6:18

Let's start with that Harrison Burton eighth

6:20

place, that Eric Jones ninth place. Those

6:22

were absolutely much needed. And you want

6:24

to talk about timing. How about Ty Gibbs.

6:27

We've been talking for weeks. That cutoff line

6:29

is a battle Royale, Ty Gibbs in

6:31

the middle of it.

6:32

Great time for Ty Gibbs to have a great run.

6:34

Yeah, and you know we talked about the toyotas Bretdon.

6:37

There's only six Toyotas in the race. Five

6:39

of them finished in the top six positions

6:42

in this race. That's and Bubba Wallace

6:44

ran well all day and I think he had

6:46

some problems in those last few laps and knocked

6:49

him out of the top ten.

6:51

Yeah, Bubble was actually running really well. There had

6:53

that gotten to a hassle off on I think

6:55

the second last restart or whatever it was.

6:57

But Bubble was actually doing really well.

6:59

But I mean, these names this was much needed,

7:01

I mean absolutely much needed. But what

7:04

and look at the main thing again. One

7:06

four in the top ten.

7:08

Kevin Harvick, who's the guy that just keeps

7:11

right Now he's just top five, top ten ing. But

7:13

one four the Fords, the big

7:15

tracks. We've talked about it, Jeff I said, the flat

7:17

tracks like the week before. The Fords

7:20

just need to figure something out at

7:22

all these other style racetracks.

7:24

Yeah, you're right, although I mean, although we would

7:26

give a little bit of an asser Sarah Joey Logano.

7:28

I mean he won the first stage, had a really good,

7:30

good car, kind of got caught up in a crash that

7:32

really wasn't his own making because of pitch strategy

7:35

there he was strong.

7:35

But you're exactly right.

7:37

The Fords definitely definitely seemed to be struggling,

7:39

and the Chevrolets didn't exactly set the world on fire

7:41

this weekend either.

7:43

Speaking with Chase.

7:44

Elliott, you know, he finished tenth, but

7:46

hey, that ain't good enough right now for Chase Elliot if

7:48

he wants to make the playoffs.

7:50

Yeah, you know, and Chase Chase won this race

7:52

last year. So this was what I think they were

7:54

looking at, and I was bragging, I still I'm still going,

7:57

Jeff, I will still be picking a

7:59

Chase el just about every week because I still

8:01

think he's going to win a race.

8:03

But tenth place is not going to get

8:05

him into the playoffs.

8:06

He needs to start having those top fives, get himself

8:08

back up in contention every week.

8:10

This is not going to cut it well.

8:11

Speaking of the playoffs right now, so I mentioned earlier

8:13

the top eleven guys or the eleven guys

8:16

that have won races that are ailded for the points.

8:18

They are now locked in because we only have five

8:20

races left. We have five spots available.

8:23

Now we look at this bubble, Brendan, and we got the

8:25

two guys that have been kind of down there on the bottom of

8:27

that bubble. Bubble Wallace four sixty

8:30

five. Michael McDowell is at four fifty

8:32

five. That's seventeen points

8:34

for Michael McDowell clear of aj Allmendinger.

8:37

That's twenty three points clear of Daniel

8:39

Suarez. That's twenty eight points

8:42

clear of Ty Gibbs and Alex Bowman still

8:44

hanging in. What I can't figure with Alex Bowman is

8:46

the guy seems to finish outside the top thirty

8:49

every week and somehow he's still popping up in the

8:51

top twenty. Tells you what a struggle

8:53

it's going to be to get into that top sixteen.

8:56

Well, I mean he's finally on this page again.

8:58

I think the last couple of weeks he wasn't even on the So

9:00

he has slowly climbed himself back up

9:03

into at least a consideration,

9:05

right, I mean, he's just not running.

9:08

He needs her to run better. He finished twenty fourth

9:10

this week. He got stage points, fifth place

9:12

stage points in stage two. He

9:15

can still point his way in, but he's

9:17

going to have to really get

9:19

start making up some ground here. Fifty points or

9:22

forty six points, whatever it is. Forty four points

9:24

is going to be a It's a tall order,

9:27

but he can do it.

9:29

Unlike Chase now who I believe Chase has to win

9:31

to get in well.

9:32

And as we talk about the playoffs, like I said, five races

9:35

left this weekend, we're heading out to the

9:37

three quarter mile track in central Virginia at Richmond

9:39

International Raceway.

9:40

Then we head up to Michigan.

9:42

But then it's gonna really start getting interesting

9:44

because these last three races back to back

9:47

road course races at Indianapolis and at

9:49

Watkins Glenn and then the big

9:51

race there at Daytona, which you kind of never know

9:53

how that goes. And we're talking about that guy sitting

9:56

right there in seventeenth spot right now, aj

9:58

Allmendinger. If you're aj Allmendinger,

10:01

if you don't have Indianapolis and Watkins Glenn

10:03

circled on your calendar right now, then you're

10:05

asleep at the wheel. And I think it's

10:08

a little bit odd that you know he's going to start

10:10

the race this week dead last

10:13

so that he can go to Roade America and

10:15

run the Infinity race. What

10:18

do you think about that?

10:21

You know, I'm a guy that likes

10:23

to race. I always say, race, race for race, no matter

10:25

what they can get a hold of. Right now,

10:27

he's just missing the playoffs right

10:30

now. He's so close.

10:31

I understand that you want him at Road America because

10:33

he's phenomenal there. Man, you

10:35

got to really start focusing here.

10:37

I think this says the colleague is really looking at

10:40

Indianapolis and Watkins Glenn and

10:42

Daytona as their only shot

10:44

to get him in.

10:45

That's the way I look at this right now.

10:47

They they're putting their eggs

10:49

in the last three races basket, kind of saying

10:51

maybe we don't have it for rigmald Well.

10:53

And I think it's interesting when you look at those last three

10:55

races and you look at guys in fifteenth, sixteenth,

10:57

seventeenth, Bubba Wallace, Michael McDowell.

11:00

You know, they've got Daytona circled. All Mudinger's

11:02

got those road courses circled.

11:04

Uh.

11:04

You know, if somebody pulls an upset, I think that's going

11:06

to make it really really interesting to see how the bottom

11:09

of that thing shakes out.

11:11

No, it's it's that last race

11:13

of Daytona.

11:14

That's why they put to Daytonah, right, That's why we

11:16

moved it to you know, Uh, NASCAR's

11:19

you know, founding home because

11:21

what Daytonah does for that last race

11:24

is absolutely It's

11:27

just it's the perfect place to do it, Jeff, you know what

11:30

I mean. It's the absolute perfect place now.

11:31

It absolutely is, and that's why I'm really looking

11:33

forward. It's the way these last five races

11:36

shake out before we get into the playoffs. Okay, we'll

11:38

be back on Gone Racing. We'll start giving the odds for this

11:40

weekend at Richmond.

12:04

This is Gone Racing, FISA's

12:06

premier NASCAR Betty podcast. Here

12:08

your hosts former NASCAR driver Brendan

12:10

Gonne and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

12:13

Jeff Motley.

12:14

And the green flag is back out here and Gollin Racing.

12:16

Brendan is remote with us this week, checking

12:19

in from North Carolina, right, aren't Are

12:21

you teaching scuba diving to a bunch

12:23

of kids back there in North Carolina or something?

12:26

Actually, the Lake North Scuba Seal Team

12:29

camp is right outside this window to my right,

12:31

and I'm playing hooky

12:33

for an hour from camp. I'm one of the counsel

12:36

cousers teaching the class. Got my kids in the

12:38

advanced open water class that is going the last

12:40

couple of days. And remember over Rachelle Rice, you

12:43

know our good friend who new works with the Super Bowl.

12:45

Rochelle's two boys are out here with me.

12:47

So we're all getting there getting scuba

12:49

certified and I'm teaching class for them.

12:51

Let me see, let me figure out this right, park

12:53

casino owner, part time race car

12:55

driver, distiller, Justice

12:59

Brothers up cleaning

13:01

company owner, and now scuba

13:03

dive instructor.

13:04

Do you do you need another job?

13:08

No?

13:09

And you left out the co host

13:11

of the most professionally unprofessional show.

13:14

He's the NASCAR version of Shack with all

13:16

these endorsements and jobs.

13:17

He has something like it not to

13:19

mention any and you fill

13:21

in?

13:22

You fill in right? Somehow,

13:25

great shot of my of the empty chair of.

13:27

Yeah, and then the south Point car won last week

13:29

in the Tony Stewarts.

13:33

Oh yeah, funny.

13:34

But at least he's doing the most well.

13:35

I texted him and said, I said, thanks for seeing

13:38

my money, but really nice job with what you're

13:40

doing.

13:40

With SRX sponsor.

13:41

Oh yeah, that's I forgot about that one too, So okay,

13:44

we digress. Guess what We're heading to my home Statemond,

13:47

Richmond, Virginia this weekend. Not my hometown, but

13:49

my home state being Virginia. Guys, So always

13:51

happy when they head back there, and it's a three quarter

13:53

mile D shaped track. Kevin

13:56

Harvick won this race last year, but Kyle

13:58

Larson was the winner there earlier

14:00

this year.

14:01

And you know the interesting thing.

14:02

About the race this year, the first race there

14:04

second place finisher filling in for

14:07

Chase Elliot when he had injured himself

14:09

in his snowboarding accident. Josh Barry

14:11

got a second brendan that's going to

14:13

be a pretty interesting weekend at Richmond. And there's

14:16

some guys who probably really really need to

14:18

not only have a good run, but a guy like Chase Elliot who

14:20

needs to pull out a win.

14:23

Well mind races five top fives for Chase

14:25

Ellott at Richmond, so no wins, but five

14:27

top fives. He's always there and they ran

14:29

very well earlier this year with of

14:32

course that finished there. And you look at the stats here of some of

14:34

the guys. Kyle Busch though did

14:36

not have a good run here his first time

14:39

with RCR at Richmond.

14:41

He ended up with a fairly mediocre

14:43

day for him when you count, you know, look at that twenty

14:46

seven top tens out of thirty five races.

14:48

That's an eighty percent clip there, folks, and

14:51

fifty over fifty percent top five.

14:53

I mean that's absolutely ridonculous.

14:55

Denny Hamlin same sort of numbers.

14:57

Kevin Harvick even more ridiculous.

15:00

I mean, that's just crazy

15:02

what they've been able to do there.

15:04

Yeah, and they've got so many data points. I mean, they've

15:06

run so many races here. You know, you look at

15:08

those guys, even Brad Kazlowski he's

15:10

had and Joey Logano, both of those

15:12

guys have had top tens and at

15:14

least half or more than half of the races. I mean,

15:17

Logano's got really incredible numbers. Twelve

15:19

top fives and twenty eight races and two

15:21

wins. So a lot of guys with some

15:23

strong showings there at

15:26

Richmond. I think it's gonna be kind of interesting to see how

15:28

much we glean from the first race

15:30

at Richmond this year.

15:31

You know, you get.

15:31

Earlier in the year, later in the year, everything is a little

15:33

bit different, and you got certain guys

15:36

that are hot and certain guys that weren't, Like Martin Trix

15:38

Junior wasn't that hot early in the season. Now

15:40

Martin Trux Junior. I still think even though Danny

15:42

Hamlin won last week. I think Trix is the hottest

15:44

driver out there, so I think you got to take a long

15:46

look at him. Even though his numbers at Richmond

15:49

don't necessarily stack up to say Kyle

15:51

Busch, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick.

15:54

Well, still pretty spectacular.

15:56

I mean three wins, you know, And what you really

15:58

have to look at though, is what have you done for me late?

16:00

Right?

16:00

I mean, he's been fantastic lately, so

16:03

it is I like him

16:05

a lot. You look at these numbers out there, Trux

16:09

is the hottest guy man.

16:10

When we get to the odds, I think that's also going to

16:12

shine through.

16:13

Well, let's get to the odds.

16:14

Take a look at the odds to win, and it's not going to be

16:16

a big surprise then that Martin Trix Junior is

16:19

the favorite to win the race at plus four fifty.

16:21

Kyle Larson, and we mentioned he won the race there

16:23

earlier this year, comes in at plus five hundred.

16:25

Denny Hamlin, where it truly is Denny's

16:28

home track, grew up in Chesterfield, Virginia, literally

16:31

probably less than ten miles from Richmond International

16:33

Raceway. He's at plus six fifty, Kevin

16:35

Harvick and Christopher Bell at plus seven to fifty,

16:38

Kyle Busch plus eight fifty, William

16:40

Byron is at nine hundred. Then we get into our double

16:42

digits. Joey Logano is twelve to one, Ross

16:45

Chastain and Chase Elliot at sixteen, Ryan

16:47

Blaney at twenty two, Tyler Reddick

16:49

and Ty Gibbs at twenty eight, Brad Keselowski

16:52

at thirty, Alex Bowman forty

16:54

and Eric Almarola forty five.

16:56

Anything jump out at you, Brendan, because I'm telling

16:58

you there's a couple of things there that that really do jump

17:00

out at me.

17:02

Yeah, you know, like Kyle Busch at eight fifty.

17:04

I know, you know we had that bad run earlier, but this

17:06

is a place he's so freaking good at

17:09

that one. He immediately jumps off the page

17:11

to me, also looking at a guy like Chase

17:13

Elliott. I know you're POOPU and Chase Elliott,

17:16

but spitting that team finished second.

17:18

This is the place he's always had top fives

17:20

at.

17:20

You know a lot that we saw that stat fourteen starts

17:23

in the last ten he's only had nine,

17:25

and he's had all of his top fives in the last nine

17:27

starts.

17:28

So those are the two that jump off immediately at me.

17:30

Well, and you mentioned Chase Elliot,

17:32

and this is one where I'm actually going to agree

17:34

with you, and maybe part of it because that

17:36

car finished second in the race earlier

17:38

this year. And I think Chase Elliott, I

17:40

mean, look, if there's a race, he's got

17:42

a little something to prove. Josh Barry hops

17:45

in that car with very little experience in a cup

17:47

car and he runs second in that race back

17:49

in April or I think it was April when they

17:51

ran that race. So I think Chase Elliot's

17:53

got something to prove. And the other guy who had a really

17:55

good run here earlier in the spring,

17:58

also at sixteen to one, Ross Chastain.

18:01

I know he hasn't been quite as as

18:03

good maybe over the last you know,

18:05

year or whatever, but that win he got

18:07

at Nashville. And I know it's a one point three mile

18:10

track at Nashville, but you know, the layout

18:12

at Nashville is very very similar

18:14

to Richmond.

18:15

It's just a longer, bigger track.

18:17

And I think the fact that he ran well there in

18:19

the spring, and the fact that he's got to win

18:21

at Nashville in a track that has some similarities.

18:23

I think sixteen to one is a really big number

18:26

on Ross Chastain.

18:28

That is a big number in Ross Chastain. These are the type

18:30

of places that Ross has been. You know,

18:32

he's running well. Ross

18:35

this year is a little bit of that, kind of that Hendrick

18:37

enigma. Right, he's Ross Chastain and winning

18:39

some races. He disappeared for a while

18:41

with all the controversy, came back and won.

18:44

Now we haven't talked much about him again,

18:46

so I'm kind of conundrum

18:49

with Ross Chastain. But listen, sixteen to

18:51

one, that's a good number for a guy that's been running

18:53

pretty strong just but everywhere we go on normal

18:55

occasions.

18:56

Yeah, you know one other guy.

18:57

I just want to kind of mention before we move into the bigger numbers

18:59

here, William Byron's plus

19:01

nine hundred. Now, now I know you look

19:03

at William Byron's numbers at Richmond.

19:05

You so he hadn't been that great.

19:07

Well, guess what, there's a lot of places

19:09

that he has run well this year where he hadn't run

19:11

well that much in the past. I

19:13

think this has been William Byron's

19:16

breakout year and I think getting William Byron

19:18

at a plus nine hundred, boy,

19:21

that's a tough one to leave on the board too.

19:24

Yeah, I mean, look, what was it

19:26

three weeks ago before Martin Trurex was hot, William

19:29

Byron was the hottest guy in the sport, right, So

19:31

I mean we've been back and forth on the hottest

19:33

guy. William Byron's one of them. Listen,

19:36

even Alex Bowman.

19:37

Forty to one.

19:38

I mean, guy, the guy disappears

19:40

and it shows back up. So Alex

19:42

Bowman another guy like on his first page.

19:44

Yeah, definitely a good chance to get somebody that's

19:46

got a little bit bigger number than you'd expect to win. All

19:48

right, let's look at more of our long shot guys here.

19:51

Chris Busher and Bubba Wallace are both

19:53

coming in at fifty five to one, Daniel Suarez

19:55

is sixty five, Chase Brisco seventy.

19:58

Then our triple digit's Preestin Newman at

20:00

a hunt Ryan Newman. Back in I did

20:02

almost read right over his name, Ryan Priest and Ryan

20:04

Newman. I'm assuming he's racing one of the rick Ware

20:06

cars, probably at one hundred to one. Austin

20:08

Dillon won fifty Ricky Standous Junior two

20:11

hundred, Hailey Jones and al muding

20:13

Aer two fifty, McDowell, Burton Sindric

20:15

at three hundred, Gilllan and Leajoy

20:17

at five hundred, and our little buddy Noah Gregson didn't

20:20

even make the list this week. So anybody

20:22

here that has any kind of

20:24

a chance, Chris Buscher, maybe Suarez, you

20:27

know.

20:28

I mean, I think this is more of a little more of a standard,

20:30

right. This is the places we're used to

20:33

kind of the cream being there. We don't see.

20:35

I mean, Josh Barry, I guess would have been kind

20:37

of an exception to that, but.

20:41

I just don't see it lot. Maybe top threes.

20:42

Maybe when we get to the top threes, i'd look at

20:45

a boocher, maybe McDowell,

20:48

but he hasn't been top three caliber, He's been top

20:50

fifteen, top ten caliber. So the

20:52

second page to me, is a little bit I'm

20:55

gonna say off limits this week, but definitely not as

20:57

appeasing or enticing. What's the number show

20:59

it? I mean, midway

21:01

through that first column, you're already at seventy and one hundred to

21:03

one. So I think even

21:05

the better even the owsmakers know it's not quite as appeasing

21:08

as the other places.

21:09

All right, let's take a look at these top threes we got

21:11

coming here. No big surprise here that Martin Trix

21:13

Junior is at the very top of the board at a

21:15

plus one thirty. Kyle Larson comes

21:17

in at plus one forty, Denny Hamlin won eighty,

21:20

Kevin Harvick, Christopher Bell two hundred,

21:22

Kyle Busch two fifty, William Byron two sixty,

21:25

Logano three point fifty, Chastain

21:27

and Elliott four to fifty, Blainey six hundred,

21:29

Reddick and Gibbs seven hundred, Kaslowski

21:32

seven to fifty, Bowman nine hundred, Eric

21:34

Almarola at ten to one.

21:37

Yeah, I mean this is where I can look at

21:39

and say, Okay, now we're talking some decent numbers.

21:41

I mean, Joey Logano's second best point getter,

21:44

but I don't like the Fordes Ross chast ain't

21:46

up there with that number. Chase Elliot in a four to fifty for

21:48

a top three. How about Tyler Reddick plus

21:50

seven hundred for a top three.

21:51

I mean, those same.

21:52

Guys we talked about for the win. But now I can focus

21:54

in a little bit and say I get a little bit more of

21:56

a shot. I really like that Chase Elliott

21:59

four fifty.

21:59

Number well, and I think another one kind

22:01

of stands out there, and I know this is going to get WHYET

22:04

very excited behind the glass. Brad

22:06

Kaslowski has been good at Richmond, and we're not talking

22:08

about a win, we're talking about getting the top three.

22:10

Plus seven fifty on Brad Kaselowski.

22:13

I think that's a pretty pretty strong number

22:15

there. So I'm thinking there's definitely a lot of value

22:17

here in some of these guys. Tyler Reddick

22:19

is another one on me. I expect Tyler Reddick to run,

22:21

well, don't you so?

22:23

Do? I? I mean, I'm looking, you know, but now I go down.

22:25

Michael McDowell finished sixth in this race in

22:28

the fall in the spring, so

22:30

he's pretty good there too.

22:32

Those guys there's.

22:34

Well, there's definitely gonna be some value there. We've got a few

22:36

more top threes, the long shots.

22:38

We'll talk about those when we come back, and then we'll start

22:40

getting into our driver head to heads and

22:42

we'll get into our group matchups.

Jeff Motley and Brendan Gahn joining

23:40

us from scuba school back in North

23:43

Carolina where he's teaching the kiddies some

23:45

scuba diving, and we're talking about things at Richmond

23:47

Raceway. Brendan, you could just head on up to Richmond

23:50

this weekend. You're pretty close there in Charlotte.

23:52

I think you could make it in about four hours driving if you

23:54

wanted to to head up there.

23:55

I am, except the only thing I'd ever wanted to do Richmond

23:58

again is filled with water and scuba dive.

24:00

I don't think that's going to happen.

24:02

Yeah, Richmond was not your favorite place. All right.

24:04

We're finishing up our top threes this weekend.

24:07

By the way, this weekend's race is the cookout

24:09

four hundred. You ever been to

24:11

you've been a cookout. You used to live here in North Carolina,

24:13

right Love, there was a cookout right by

24:16

my It was a

24:18

cookout right by my parents' house in

24:20

Virginia there in Martinsville.

24:21

And I'm telling you.

24:22

I've used to love the little pool pork barbecue.

24:25

Leave the slow off because I don't care for that, but oh

24:27

my gosh, those things were delicious. So cookout

24:29

very underrated. We need one in Las Vegas. What's

24:31

maybe you and I open up a franchise. We'll get a cookout

24:34

and a bow Jangles.

24:35

What do you think?

24:37

Oh, I'd definitely be on the bow Jangles.

24:39

I had a spicy chicken biscuit for breakfast

24:41

yesterday morning.

24:41

Isaiah.

24:42

Isaiah approves of this. He's willing to be a silent

24:44

partner.

24:44

Okay, all right, silent partner.

24:47

Lonsley brings some money to the table. He can be as

24:49

silent as he wants to. All right, let's finish

24:51

up exactly all right, Well,

24:53

we'll finish up our top threes here. Chris

24:55

Bush or Bubba Wallace are fifteen to one, Daniel

24:57

Suarez sixteen, Chase Brisco eighteen,

25:00

Ryan Priest and Ryan Newman twenty five, Austin

25:02

Dillon forty, Stenhouse fifty five,

25:05

Hayley Jones, Almendinger at sixty,

25:07

McDowell, Burton Cindric at seventy,

25:09

get A Land Lajoy one thirty. I

25:12

don't know if I see anybody sneaking in

25:14

here unless I don't know, maybe a couple

25:16

of those guys at the top at fifteen.

25:20

At that, and that's where I was going to focus, Eric Jones

25:22

or not Eric.

25:23

Oh sorry, Chris Buscher finished the third

25:25

here in the first race or the

25:28

second race last year. So in

25:30

the playoff race, Chris Buscher finished

25:32

third. You

25:34

know that if you're looking for a high

25:36

digit guy, I could zero in on Chris

25:38

Buscher right there and say, I like that

25:40

move. I think he can we at least

25:42

have a shot. That was with RFK,

25:45

that was before the resurgence of RFK. So I

25:47

don't mind the Chris Buscher fifteen to one bet right

25:49

there.

25:49

Yeah, I think that'd be about the only one.

25:51

Maybe Suarez sixteen, could sneak in there, but

25:54

not really feeling a lot of.

25:55

The top threees.

25:55

Okay, let's take a look at our driver head to heads,

25:58

and well, if you want to bet against Martin Trux

26:00

Junior and do so at your own peril, there

26:02

is money to be one. I mean, Christopher Bell a plus

26:05

one forty to Trix is minus one sixty

26:07

Hamlin plus one twenty five to Trix

26:09

minus one forty five. A couple

26:11

of them up there that are pretty big numbers. But

26:14

honestly, Brendan, I don't think I would touch

26:16

those.

26:18

I don't know. That's Seabell at one forty head

26:20

to head.

26:21

Christopher Bell finished fourth in this race last

26:23

year, or in the race earlier

26:25

this year eighth and second in the stage.

26:27

Is it a plus one forty head to head?

26:29

Yeah, I get it, see against true X, but that's

26:32

still a plus one forty head to

26:34

head number with a.

26:35

Guy that he's if you look at

26:37

his.

26:37

History, he's only got whereas

26:39

a year six starts, four of them, top

26:42

fives, five of them, top tens, average finish

26:44

five point seven. That the

26:46

only guy better is Truex, but

26:48

a plus one forty.

26:50

But I like that, Brendan, are you not getting

26:52

the feeling though over the last half

26:55

of the season so far, that Christopher

26:57

Bell is almost turning into the

26:59

Denny Hamp one of the past. It's like every

27:02

single race something

27:04

happens. He's fast in qualifying,

27:06

he's fast in practice, he's fast at the

27:08

start of the race. He ends up with either a Pitt Road

27:11

mistake, he ends up in the wall, he ends spinning

27:13

out. It's almost like something is headed

27:15

south with that team, and I can't figure out what

27:17

it is.

27:22

You know, it's almost the William Byron

27:24

Eric almerole thing we used talked about last year, right where

27:27

he's all great and then we don't know what he does.

27:29

But he is making a lot of mistakes on Pitt

27:31

Road. He needs to run

27:33

over Truex's side and takes some more lessons from Truex

27:35

than he does from any type thing. But

27:38

still, I mean, that's just a plus

27:41

one forty head to head. I don't care about

27:43

it all that stuff.

27:43

I kind of like that.

27:44

Well.

27:45

Strangely enough, actually, the one that I probably

27:47

like the best on there is actually William

27:49

Byron going head ahead against Christopher

27:51

Bell, because I think anytime I can get William Byron

27:54

on a plus line. I kind of like William Byron

27:56

on a plus line.

27:56

I like that one.

27:57

And I kind of like Chase Elliot against Kyle Busch,

27:59

maybe because Kyle didn't run that well here

28:01

in the spring, and so maybe

28:03

this is a track where Chase kind of gets

28:06

it together and runs well, you

28:08

know, if he kind of just can figure things out.

28:10

So I kind of like those two.

28:11

Yeah, but what about you know, look at the two tracks that

28:14

are similar. Right, Saint Louis we talk about in

28:16

New Hampshire Saint Louis. Kyle Busch

28:18

dominated that race, Jeff st You know

28:20

he won the race, led one hundred and twenty one laps

28:23

very similar, you know, with that that turn

28:25

one that tight.

28:26

You know, they got shifting going on.

28:29

I think Kyle Busch has had a bad Richmond race, if

28:31

you want the truth, and he doesn't have it often. So I

28:33

see a bigger surgeons out of him. So I'm on the other side

28:35

to let's take that as a side bet. I'll take

28:37

Kyle Busch, you take you take Away

28:40

and Byron and we'll see where it ends up.

28:41

Well, no, that's the Chase Elliott Kyle Busch now

28:44

Elliot not way. Okay, well

28:46

we'll think about that one. Okay, let's

28:49

get into our group matchups here. We'll start

28:51

out with Group A, and this might be one

28:53

of the biggest favorites in Group A I've

28:55

seen in quite some time. Martin TRICKX

28:58

Junior is not going to bring you out

29:00

of money here. He's a plus one ninety Denny

29:02

Hamlin and Kyle Larson both at plus two ninety

29:05

five. Christopher Bell comes in at plus

29:07

three forty five. You'll want to bet against

29:09

Martin and if you do and he has

29:11

a problem early, there's money to be one.

29:15

Wow, I mean plus three forty five and a group

29:17

of bay that talk about trying to entice

29:19

me here, Man, I

29:21

don't know that's that's a lot of cheese

29:24

in.

29:24

That group bait again. I mean, I know you're going to gets TRUEX.

29:26

Dady and Kyle, but even Denny

29:28

and Kyle in two ninety five mean Denny Hamlin

29:30

at two ninety five, that's.

29:32

A Those are big numbers in group bag, Jeff.

29:34

That's I know.

29:36

I don't normally like groubeb but man, they're trying

29:38

to talk me into it.

29:39

Well, and my problem with it here is. I mean, there is a part

29:41

of me that says, hey man, those are big numbers,

29:44

but I don't know, I don't know which one to pick.

29:46

As things are buzzing in here.

29:48

I'm not sure that's scared of that crap.

29:50

Construct construction work going on outside.

29:53

It's like sort of a sort of a

29:55

jackcamer if you guys hear that buzzing noise

29:57

in the background of our podcast

29:59

today. So anyway, but

30:02

saying Brendan, it's just it's hard to pick which

30:04

one you think is going to beat TRUEX.

30:06

That's part of the issue.

30:08

Yeah, I mean I get it. But Denny

30:12

Hamlin and chrisher Bell. I

30:14

could take both of them and get a two ninety

30:16

five and a three forty five and root for

30:18

Seabell the whole time.

30:19

And I don't know, I kind of like

30:21

that.

30:22

It is a big number. Speaking of big numbers, let's look

30:24

at Group B. William Byron heads it up at plus

30:26

two thirty five, Kyle Busch is plus

30:28

two forty five, Harvick plus two seventy

30:30

and a huge number on Chase Elliott

30:32

at plus three fifty five.

30:36

At the three fifty five, Jeff is that's the numbers

30:38

based off of what you say, right, what have you done for me lately?

30:40

And Chase Elliott you're fading him, So that's why

30:43

he's at three fifty five. I think that might

30:45

be my Chase Elliott bet for the week. You know how I said I'm

30:47

going to bet him each week at least once.

30:49

That might be my bet for Chase Elliott this week.

30:51

Well, it would certainly be a good return there. That's

30:53

a tough group for me right there. I mean my gut

30:55

feeling is I think Byron is the better one there and that you

30:58

kind of like Kyle Busch a little bit there and

31:00

when you're talking about head to head with William

31:03

Byron. But that big number on Chase Elliott

31:05

hard to leave out there if you think this is finally the week the

31:07

Chase puts it together?

31:08

All right? Look at group.

31:09

See Ryan Blaney and Ross Jastain

31:12

both come in at a plus two thirty

31:14

five, Tyler Redick is plus

31:17

three fifteen and Brad Keselowski

31:19

at plus three twenty.

31:22

You know, I know we talk

31:25

a lot of Brad love on the show and this year who I've been cashing

31:27

a lot of tickets with Brad. He did finish

31:29

tenth in this race earlier this year. My

31:33

problem is Ross Shastain finished third, and

31:38

you know, Tyler Redick is one of my perennial

31:40

favorites just as better where we go right now.

31:42

So I

31:44

kind of like the Tyler Redick three fifteen with the

31:46

return, but I'm afraid to bet against Ross Shastain

31:48

and out and Blaney. Blaney should in my opinion,

31:51

Blanie should not be the favorite

31:53

in that group. Ryan Blaney stats here do

31:56

not scream that last ten races three

31:58

top tens average fIF sixteen point

32:00

six. So I can take that a three man

32:02

horse race, but I still can't.

32:05

It's hard to whindle between the three.

32:07

Well, and I'm kind of with you.

32:08

I'm I'm definitely taking Blaine out of the mix here,

32:10

and I kind of take a little bit of brad k

32:12

out of the mix. I really do think this comes down to Reddick

32:14

and Chastain and the fact that Reddick could

32:16

get a plus three fifteen on this number.

32:19

I think that's a huge number to give

32:21

Tyler Reddick. Really like Tyler Redick just because

32:23

the number is so big. Now, if they flip floped Tyler

32:25

Redick with Ryan Blaney, I may not be

32:27

as keen on it, but I think at

32:29

a plus three fifteen, I think it's certainly worth the risk.

32:32

All right, we'll take a look at our group.

32:33

D Ty Gibbs comes in fresh off fresh

32:36

off his first ever top five finish last week

32:38

at Pocono plus two to twenty five. Bubba

32:40

Wallace is plus two thirty, and then big

32:42

numbers on Eric Almrola and Daniel Suarez

32:45

at plus three thirty.

32:48

Yeah, this one for me is probably the

32:50

one that's the the say, the toughest

32:53

uh to handicap, right, I mean

32:56

Ty Gibbs kind of the hottest hand Bubba Wallace

32:59

you know has has

33:01

been Okay.

33:03

Eric Alamarola three thirty day.

33:06

If I'm going to pick one, I'm gonna jump out there and say

33:08

Daniel s Quoraz just because the trackouse teams.

33:11

Probably he's the most

33:13

consistent out of that group. But Ty Gibbs at

33:15

the favor I don't know this is my group. I

33:18

just kind of look at this is my Jeff

33:20

Motley group.

33:22

You throw up the X on this one.

33:23

Well, I tell you what I kind of like here is I really like

33:25

the two Toyotas up there at the top.

33:27

I think Ty Gibbs definitely got He's got

33:29

a little bit of momentum, I think going

33:31

his way right now. So I think with Ty Gibbs having a little

33:34

bit of momentum, still getting a plus two

33:36

twenty five, and if you really kind of look at it,

33:38

kind of a head to head with Bubba Wallace, I kind

33:40

of like ty get Gibbs. Here, all right, we come

33:42

back for our final with segment of Gone Racing.

33:44

We'll finish up our.

33:45

Groups and we'll tell you how we did last week and

33:47

give you our picks.

34:11

This is Gone Racing, Fison's

34:13

premier NASCAR betting podcast. You're

34:15

your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

34:18

Gone and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

34:20

Jeff Motley.

34:21

Now it's our final segment here of Gone Racing.

34:24

This week, we get the white flag out

34:26

our final lap from Whyett back there behind

34:28

the glass, and we're finishing up our group matchups

34:30

with this weekend's cookout four hundred

34:33

at Richmond International Raceway. It's

34:35

our second trip to Richmond this year. I think Brendan,

34:37

this is other than Atlanta. This is our first track

34:39

we've made a second trip back to this year. So

34:42

thest these guys do have some data points. We're

34:45

gonna get back to our groups with group E, where

34:47

Austin Dillon, Ryan Priest, and aj

34:49

Allmendinger are all plus two seventy

34:52

and Eric Jones is plus two seventy

34:54

five. Talk about throwing a blanket over the

34:56

group.

34:58

Yeah, but you know what, Austin Dillon.

35:01

I look at the last ten races, five top

35:03

ten finishes, one top five average

35:05

finished twelve and a half. That is leaps

35:07

and bounds above the rest of the guy he's in the group

35:10

with. So I can

35:12

look at that right off the bat and say, Austin Dillon, Yeah,

35:14

it's a blanket. Yeah, it's the boring

35:17

odd group. But I think Austin Dillon should

35:19

be more of a favorite than that. So I'm jumping

35:21

on that Austin Dillon group.

35:22

Okay, I'm gonna be honest with you. This is my throw

35:25

up the X here. I just I don't really

35:27

know where to go here in a Dylan. It

35:29

seems to me that that team is just seems

35:31

like I have one problem after another. If

35:33

Almondinger wasn't going to

35:36

start this race last, I

35:38

just know how easy it is on these short tracks that you

35:40

can get lapped early. That would make

35:42

me kind of like Almondinger a little bit more. And look,

35:45

let's face it, Eric Jones, he's been running well, getting

35:47

top tens lately, so he certainly has figured

35:50

something out. So to me, there's some cases

35:52

to be made for everybody, even Preeze.

35:54

You never know what you're going to get there. So I think

35:56

this is.

35:56

So well, But average finishes twelve

35:59

and a half for Austin Dylon and then after

36:01

that it's it's all twenty mid

36:04

twenties plus. So that's

36:06

why I look at is the average running spot

36:08

is way big in Austin's favorite.

36:10

Mister analytics, Brendan God

36:14

the Statman. But no, but that and

36:16

that's right, it's right there in black and white.

36:18

I mean, that's that's what the numbers say. So I

36:21

just sometimes I kind of look at how they've

36:23

done lately, and I just think that team is

36:25

struggling right now a little bit.

36:26

All right, let's take a look at Group F.

36:28

Justin Haley is the favorite at plus two forty

36:30

five, Harrison Burton plus two sixty,

36:33

Ricky Stenhouse Junior plus two ninety,

36:35

and Austin Cindric at plus

36:37

two ninety five.

36:40

Against You got a Woods brother slash

36:43

Penske car and a Penske car in Group F.

36:45

These two boys need to step up and start doing

36:48

something.

36:51

Stan House got the most experience, right, I

36:53

mean average fish twenty

36:55

one last ten races, not great there, But I

36:58

mean Cindric just because in

37:01

the best equipment, the.

37:02

Numbers are really big on Stenhouse and Cindric

37:04

here, and you're right, Cindric's in the best equipment. Stenhouse

37:06

seems to be the guy. It's just you never

37:08

know which races Haley

37:10

all of a sudden decides, Oh this is my week. Although

37:13

although I'm just wondering about the fact he's announced

37:16

he's leaving that team at the end of this year,

37:18

if he's going to get quite as much support

37:20

as he was getting earlier in the year.

37:24

It's a legit concern, right, I

37:26

Mean, sometimes they don't want him black in the rain

37:28

of Deier games. Now, they don't want him in all the meetings. They don't

37:30

want they won't report, they won't withhold any

37:32

equipment from him. But he's just not going

37:34

to have all the knowledge and sim

37:37

time and all the rest of the stuff.

37:38

These kids. Yet they're definitely going to slowing

37:41

down on that.

37:41

No, No, you're exactly what. It's going to be very curious see what happens.

37:44

I actually kind of like Stenhouse here in this group

37:46

just because of experience.

37:47

I think he's got confidence.

37:49

They know they're in the playoffs now, so now they can actually

37:52

start trying to work on things to get some

37:54

more playoff points as they move on.

37:55

So kind of like stand House here.

37:56

All right, let's take a look at our manufacturer

37:58

prop this week a little bit different.

38:01

We've seen Chevy at the top of this board

38:03

for a number of weeks, but Toyota

38:06

is the favorite at plus one forty, Chevy

38:08

at plus one sixty, and ford in

38:10

the distance based on kind of like what Brendan's

38:12

been saying about the Fordes lately at a plus two

38:15

fifty.

38:17

Yeah, they need to put that forward at plus four hundred and just

38:19

start enticing people, because I even then I don't

38:21

think i'd bet it.

38:23

But what I do like is, hey, Chevrolet is not the favorite.

38:25

I mean, look, we've talked mostly about Denny Hamlin,

38:28

Martin trus Junior, Christopher Bell. We didn't mention

38:30

Tyler Reddick that much, and he's one of them.

38:33

I but you're giving me Chevy at

38:35

one sixty first week. They have n't been the favorite

38:37

that I can remember in a while. I can

38:40

jump back on that Chevy bandwagon and give it to one sixty.

38:42

Well, it's hard for me to leave Toyota out there

38:44

there. Last week they weren't the favorite, but they were still

38:47

plus one forty. Brendan,

38:49

a couple of us picked at Toyota to win last

38:51

week. I've pat ourselves on the back a little bit. And

38:53

I just like the fact that you're getting true X, you're

38:55

getting Hamlin, you're getting Bell, you're getting

38:58

Reddick, You're getting a lot

39:00

of really and you're get in TRUEX. I mean, there's

39:02

a lot of really, really good drivers out there, and there's

39:04

Toyotas now and you get a plus one forty

39:06

number. I wouldn't have been shocked to have seen

39:08

that number to be even lower the way these Toyotas

39:11

have been running lately. So kind of like Toyota there

39:13

over Chevy. Just because the number is the same

39:15

as it was last week. There just happened to be the favorite.

39:17

All right. Let's take a look at our.

39:18

Championship odds right now, and

39:21

Martin TRICKX Junior's odds continue to get

39:24

worse. If you're trying to win money on him, He's

39:27

down to a plus four fifty. Chase

39:29

Elliott is at fifteen to one.

39:31

You know, that's the guy who certainly has made the big

39:33

drop since the beginning of the season. Probably

39:36

not a lot of movement since last week.

39:38

I think maybe Denny Hamlin maybe

39:41

ticked down a little bit with that win last

39:43

week, but because he got a lot of playoff points. But we're

39:45

not seeing much movement in these championship standings right

39:47

now unless somebody outside the top

39:49

sixteen picks up a win.

39:52

Yeah, and right now, my two favorites

39:54

there are Ross chafs stand and Chase Elliott and

39:56

even Tyler Reddick two fifteen

39:58

one, fifteen to one. There's your best value,

40:01

there's your best kind of late season hedge.

40:03

Put a couple on them and hold that in your back pocket.

40:05

See what happens there in the final four.

40:07

All right, Well, let's take a look at how we did last week and

40:09

Brendan's It was a lot of fun for the

40:11

two of us. You know, if I remember going into

40:14

last week and I was just barely

40:16

staying ahead of the pit crew, I mean

40:18

they were close enough to basically break my draft

40:21

and spin me out without hitting me.

40:23

Boy boy, big difference. I

40:26

got four out of five right.

40:27

Last week a couple of I took Kyle Busch

40:29

on the don't line with Byron and Larson got those

40:31

McDowell win and his group and Toyota

40:33

getting the win, and Brendan you had another

40:36

stellar week. You also had

40:38

the Byron over Bush pick and the

40:41

Toyota pick. So you and I went together on

40:43

a couple of picks, got those picked Reddick to

40:45

win his group, and the pit crew they

40:47

jumped on that Michael McDowell bandwagon. But

40:50

some tough losses out there.

40:51

The tough losses for the pit crew was we

40:54

had three group winners finish in the

40:56

top ten and the didn't win their group. But

40:58

the one guy who does win his group finished nineteenth.

41:00

That was just And then also thank you Denny for you

41:02

know that Kyle Larson incident. So there's

41:05

another we keep getting just pricked to

41:07

death here.

41:10

Well listen, I was you guys were all pissed

41:12

off. I had Boehmen. Bowman was running

41:15

like.

41:15

You know, I'm sitting there going Bowman, stay

41:17

up there, baby, give me that plus nine hundred top

41:19

three, and then then

41:21

the wheels fell off kind of proverbally your boning. And

41:24

and the bad news is for the folks at home. Not

41:26

only did the wheels fall off. For that, I had Motley

41:28

and Wyatt texting going, oh, thank.

41:31

God, Bowman's out. Ha ha, My thanks.

41:33

Well, I think I think why it was like, hey,

41:36

we need to be glad that that happened. I

41:38

think it was something along those lines, not that, not

41:40

that it's like we're going to catch Brendan anyway.

41:42

And this is like some race from like.

41:44

Nineteen sixty six where Richard

41:46

Petty had eleven laps on the field right now,

41:48

So as long as Brendan doesn't find a way to blow his engine,

41:50

I believe he's going to be in really good shape. We

41:52

got fifteen races left and need

41:54

to do the math. I'm fifty four

41:57

points behind Brendan, so how many do I

41:59

have to make up each week? I gotta make

42:01

up like four points a week or so to

42:03

pass him. So yeah, that's gonna be a lot, okay,

42:06

And with that we will get to our

42:08

picks for this week, and Wyatt

42:10

take it away for the pit crew.

42:11

All right, we got Christopher Bell over Martin

42:14

Trucks Junior plus one forty, the old

42:16

saying Hell has no fury as a driver's

42:18

scoring. We're going Kyle Larson to go Group

42:20

A plus two ninety five, like what Harvick's

42:22

been doing the last couple of weeks. I got them at Group B plus

42:25

two seventy. Justin Haley to win Group

42:27

F at plus two forty five, and we're

42:29

taking the Chevy to the levee and hopefully it ain't dry.

42:31

We wanted to win plus one.

42:32

Sixty, okay, and you know what that means.

42:34

Nobody's gonna get jinks this week

42:36

because I can tell you that I don't have any

42:39

of the same picks as a pit crew. I'm

42:41

gonna go with one head to head. I'm gonna

42:43

take William Byron over Christopher Bell

42:45

in the head to head, and then I've got three

42:47

group picks. I'm gonna take Tyler Reddick

42:50

in Group C at that plus three fifteen,

42:52

I'm taking ty Gibbs. I'm really on

42:54

that Toyota bandwagon, as you can tell. At

42:56

A plus two to twenty five, I'm taking

42:59

Ricky Stenhouse at plus two

43:01

ninety to win Group f and then

43:03

I'm gonna stick to the toyotas

43:05

in the manufacturer picks. There, Toyota

43:08

at plus one for the manufacturers,

43:12

Well.

43:12

This is gonna be fun because we have a lot of head to head

43:14

battles all three of us this week. Then all right, I'm

43:17

going chrispher Bell over Martin Truex. That

43:20

that plus one forty is just sticking out there

43:22

too big to me. I told you I'm picking Chase Elliott

43:24

every week, and Chase Elliott to win Group

43:26

B with that big long odd that's what I'm

43:28

going with. I'm going Austin Dillon

43:30

to win Group E. Like

43:33

I said, Austin Dillon in the stats.

43:35

Just that that to me is the biggest

43:38

statistical anomaly. Denny

43:41

Hamlin Group A. I guess I should have started that one. Denny

43:43

at two ninety five at Richmond. Even

43:45

though I love Christopher Bell, Denny

43:48

Hamlin at two ninety five, you can't pass up at.

43:50

His home track.

43:50

And then I'm jumping on the Toyota at one

43:53

sixty. Just

43:55

one sixty, Toyota, man, I mean, it's

43:58

it's sorry, Chevy twy.

44:00

I was reading the number right, the name wrong. Chevy

44:03

at one sixty.

44:03

They've been favored all year, So I'm jumping

44:05

on the Chevy bandwagon because they still

44:08

got too many to me, too

44:10

much ammunition in that gun for them, they got.

44:13

Lots of bullets.

44:14

Well they do, they do.

44:15

It's going to be a pretty interesting week, all right, Brandon, we

44:17

got less than thirty seconds ago.

44:18

You hated Richmond. Why'd you hate Richmond?

44:22

I just never fit my style.

44:23

Man could not do it, and I

44:26

will not be heading anywhere near there until they make a scuba

44:28

take out.

44:29

Well, speaking of scuba, that's what Brendan's doing

44:31

this weekend. He's down there teaching some scuba lessons.

44:34

And that wraps it up for us this week on Gone Racing.

44:36

I hope you've got your picks in for

44:38

the Richmond Racer. See it this week, and

44:41

we'll be back next week. I won't be here, why

44:43

it'll be sitting in for me next week on

44:45
