This is Gone Racing, Vison's

0:04

premier NASCAR betting podcast. Here

0:06

are your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

0:08

Gone, and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

0:10

Jeff Mottley, and.

0:13

The Green Flag is out back here on

0:15

Gone Racing again this week. I

0:17

think they introduced us Jeff Motley, Brennan Gone.

0:19

We didn't actually couldn't hear the promo this time.

0:21

But hey, it's great to be back in the studio with you. I almost

0:23

forgot what you look like.

0:24

I appreciate it's great to be back here.

0:25

I just realized as we came on air that I forgot to change

0:27

shirts this morning.

0:30

Uh huh.

0:30

A little free advertising for city Light Shine

0:32

in an accident Vson.

0:33

I promise I was doing something else.

0:35

I got the right hat.

0:36

He's got the right hat. He's got well.

0:38

Look, Brendan owns like five different companies,

0:40

so it's very easy for him. He wears a

0:42

different shirt every day of the week for one of the companies.

0:45

I don't have a wardrobe.

0:46

All I have is different logoed polo shirts

0:48

because that's what I've had to do my whole life. And everybody

0:51

makes fun of me because I don't know how to dress myself. I go listen,

0:53

just what am I wearing that day? And that's what I have to do.

0:55

When was the last time you bought a shirt that you

0:57

wear? Well?

0:59

I always have toy south Point shirts because I

1:01

come here and forget the right shirts.

1:03

That so I have to go to the gift shop.

1:04

You don't just go to Sally's office and say, hey, I need

1:06

a shirt.

1:07

Yeah, I go see when you go to that well.

1:08

Too many times you have to go

1:11

to the well in the gift shop. And by

1:13

the way, Ruth Hall, who has run our gift shop since

1:15

I was two years old, three years old,

1:18

Ruth's still here. I think Ruth

1:20

makes more money in the gift shop than the casino does. I

1:23

bought a Greg Norman polo shirt with south Point

1:25

on it not too long ago. I'm not going to say the price, but dear

1:28

goodness, yeah,

1:31

we'll still do.

1:32

When I get the line from Sally, I gave my last

1:34

one to Brendan, I'm kind of like, okay

1:37

anyway, anyway, Hi mister Motley, Hi,

1:39

it's racing time. We're excited about

1:41

this week because we're going to Chicago. But before

1:43

we can get to the.

1:45

Home I'm excited about wrapping up last week.

1:47

Right before we get the sweet Home Chicago,

1:50

We're going to home of country music, Nashville,

1:52

where we were last week, Ross Chess Day and gets

1:54

a breakthrough. I know that made you excited because

1:56

it gets you one driver close to making

1:58

it more than sixteen winners this year.

2:00

And also who had ross Chasina the group?

2:02

Uh you look you you cleaned

2:05

up on us with the picks last week.

2:07

We're all gonna acknowledge that we're gonna.

2:09

Announe Look you get your last segment

2:11

to Brad.

2:12

Right, it's what the fourth segment is for this

2:14

whole first segment, which is recap

2:16

of Nashville.

2:18

Hey, Brad Kaselowski, who's the guy that

2:20

always picked Brad Kesloski. Who's the guy isn't

2:22

that the pickers made a picker?

2:23

Yep, they did not pick him last week.

2:25

As Dominic Toretto once said, we're

2:27

a family. So I'm helping you win your bets

2:30

by getting you to love Brad Keaslowski.

2:32

I'm just saying I could not win a bet to

2:34

the regular season. I'm still gonna be politic.

2:36

Well, Brendan thinks he was the big winner last week. But

2:38

the big winner last week was Ross Chastein.

2:41

He came in.

2:41

He was eleven to one to win that race, so it got

2:43

us a double digit winner there plus three

2:45

hundred for a top three. He won group beat plus

2:48

two to eighty. He had a headhead against Denny Hamlin

2:50

plus one fifteen. He brought Chevy home at

2:52

minus one oh five. Third

2:54

career victory for Ross. But he also

2:57

kind of swept the Cup weekend.

2:59

He won his first career poll in

3:01

route to win in the race. It was a huge

3:03

deal too, because you had Justin Marx is

3:06

from the Nashville area there. You know, it's kind of hometown

3:08

for him.

3:09

They got Tootsies on on so

3:12

always have a bit, and they had had a music

3:15

guy on. I mean, it was a big deal

3:17

for that team to come back. And remember we've

3:19

been talking he was on a schneid right ever since the sit

3:21

down where Justin said we got to calm down a little,

3:23

which Justin.

3:24

Says it didn't really go down quite that way. About

3:27

this a.

3:27

Month ago, he said it went down that

3:29

way. Justin Justin is an old driver.

3:31

Let's get this straight, because he's racing this weekend Justin's

3:34

an old driver, and Justin is

3:36

as full of poop as anybody else. He says

3:38

what he needs when it matches the deal. When

3:41

when he needs to say that he.

3:42

Had to have that talk with Ross, he had

3:44

to talk with Ross. When he wins, he says, I

3:46

didn't have that talk with Ross.

3:47

Yeah, well, I know when of the Ross was pretty

3:49

pretty darn good. H trucks that came

3:52

in second really didn't have anything for him. Uh,

3:54

But speaking of Martin Trux Junior, there's

3:56

the hottest guy in the sport right now.

3:58

Once again, I will freely admit

4:00

I may be kicking your butts in the picks. But

4:03

is there a minus number of points I get for having

4:05

the worst pick? And we're only in the fifteenth race

4:07

or whatever, eighteenth race of the year.

4:09

Worst pick of the year.

4:11

It's minus fifty minus

4:13

fifteen fifty points, Yes, minus fifty points.

4:15

Well, I might be able to make it up till I'm close enough already.

4:17

Right, I feel like that.

4:19

I think actually that still puts me ahead of you, even if I'm minus

4:21

fifty.

4:21

I kind of feel like, why keeps moving the start

4:23

finish line on you?

4:24

There?

4:24

Yeah, that's okay, because the worst pick

4:26

of the year was me saying the biggest disappointment this season

4:29

was going to be Martin Truex Junior. Martin,

4:32

I owe you like dinner at Michael's,

4:34

because that was the most god awful

4:36

pick I think in the history of our sports.

4:38

Well, well, take a look at the top ten.

4:39

Probably only one really big surprise here, but

4:41

Martin Trix Junior. He was plus two hundred for

4:43

top three. Denny Hamlin also plus

4:45

two hundred for a top three. Chase Elliott,

4:47

A lot of people thought this was a race he really needed to

4:49

win because he'd been so good at Nashville.

4:52

He did come in fourth, had a fairly strong run.

4:55

Only big surprise here, and it was a pleasant

4:57

surprise. Eric Jones with Legacy

4:59

Motor placing eighth in

5:01

this race. It's been a rough year for Legacy

5:04

ever since. I really think they made the announcement that

5:06

they were moving to Toyota next year. I'm

5:08

sure they haven't really been involved in many

5:10

of Chevy's meetings going forward the

5:12

rest of the year. Also, aj Allmendinger coming in

5:14

with the tenth and good run for colleague

5:16

racing. It was a good weekend for AJ Allmendinger.

5:18

He also won the Exfinity race on Saturday.

5:21

But I need a little shout out to our buddy

5:23

Riley herpst.

5:24

He was the top finishing Exfinity

5:26

car, best career finished there, finished second.

5:28

I happened to be standing by his pit

5:30

box for the last fifteen laps of the race and

5:33

saw his dad Troy, and talked to Riley after

5:35

the race.

5:35

And they were pretty pretty excited, to say the least.

5:38

I was very happy with him on

5:40

the second last restart, and I was very unhappy

5:42

with him on the last restart, but

5:44

really proud of Riley.

5:45

But I mean, let's go out.

5:46

I mean AJ Allmendinger a

5:49

good strong How about college racing second?

5:51

I mean Justin Haley qualified second. Now

5:53

didn't have a good race, but still

5:55

college cars showing speed. And that's a

5:58

good sign for this weekend because of what we think when

6:00

we think of road course racing, we think

6:02

AJ Allmendinger. So they've got speed.

6:04

But some some you know, Christopher Bell, good run,

6:07

Eric Jones. That was that team needed that good

6:09

run more than any team needs a good run.

6:11

That was that was finally a good

6:13

run for them.

6:14

Well, take a quick look at our at our standings

6:16

now we're up to eleven eleven different

6:18

winners.

6:19

Yep, we're close.

6:20

I think there's a few guys probably who could get across

6:22

the finish line, certainly with well, we got

6:24

three of two three three road

6:27

course street courses left here in the regular

6:29

season with Chicago, Indian and Watkins

6:31

Glenn. Plus we've got the Atlanta

6:33

and Daytona tracks, so there's certainly five

6:36

outliers out there. Plus we got some

6:38

guys that haven't won this year, like Kevin Harvick,

6:40

like Chase Elliott, who could find their

6:42

way across the line. So Martin

6:44

Trix Junior though, I do think right now he is starting

6:47

to show himself a little bit as a class of the field.

6:49

Yeah, no, Martin's definitely stepping up. And you

6:51

know, let's talk about the points for a second. With that Chase Elliott

6:53

move. You know, you don't see him on the on the front

6:55

page here, and you'll see him on the cut line page.

6:58

Because remember, Chase has missed so many races

7:00

this year. But let's talk about can

7:02

Chase Elliott point his way in. There's

7:04

the you know you're seeing the graphic now with with

7:07

where the cut line is and this cut line we've talked Jeff,

7:10

it is a bloodbath. I mean, if you look at the

7:12

drivers, the teams, the numbers there. But remember

7:14

Chase Elliott all the way down right now

7:16

in twenty fifth, two hundred and eighty nine

7:19

points, he's only

7:21

sixty sixty four point four points

7:24

out.

7:24

Of pointing his way in.

7:26

With the three road courses like we named,

7:28

I think Chase Elliott does not need to win a race.

7:30

Now I would agree that he doesn't need to win

7:32

a race, but also part of this

7:34

is going to depend on how does Alex

7:37

Bowman race, how does Daniel Suarez race?

7:39

Because it's one thing for Chase Elliot to go

7:41

out and finish fourth like he did at Nashville and made

7:43

up a bunch of points last week. But if Alex

7:45

Bowman and Daniel Suarez go out and run seventh

7:48

and eighth and Chase Elliot's running fourth

7:50

man, he's not gonna make up as much ground on those guys that

7:52

he's trying to catch.

7:53

Well, and let's talk about guys that

7:55

are not even we're talking about that. Austin

7:58

Dillon had a huge penalty earlier this year, so

8:00

he's way down on the points because he had the big penalty.

8:03

Austin can win a race at Daytona

8:05

and Talladega very well, I mean.

8:07

And that's when I was joking about the start

8:09

finish line moving. See if somebody

8:11

outside the top sixteen wins a race, well,

8:14

suddenly Chase Elliott's finish line moved farther

8:16

away.

8:16

Further away.

8:17

Absolutely, So you know, you look at this,

8:19

there's Austin Dillon

8:21

that hasn't won.

8:21

That's out there. There's still Chase Elliott that hasn't won. That's

8:24

out there.

8:24

You've got Michael McDowell we talked about with all

8:26

these road carre courses, how well he's doing.

8:29

Aj Allmendinger, who hasn't won with all

8:31

these road courses.

8:32

You have you know Ty Gibbs who's quietly

8:34

having a very very nice.

8:37

Rookie season sitting just outside

8:39

the cut line. You got Daniel Suarez who's

8:41

outside the cut line. You have big names

8:43

and big teams and big drivers that

8:45

can get them that there's a lot of this

8:48

line is going to be nasty coming down the stretch.

8:50

And you mentioned the sixty four points.

8:52

All right, look at the standings up there right now,

8:55

Let's just go off the points for this week,

8:57

okay, and forget what points are

8:59

going to get at CHICAI If aj Allmendinger

9:02

won at Chicago and Chase

9:04

Elliott goes from sixty four points back

9:06

to ninety two, two points back because the

9:08

guy in fifteenth, Bubba Wallace, would

9:10

fall to sixteenth and that's ninety two points different.

9:12

So I think that's where you.

9:14

Can't just say, oh, Chase Elliott has sixty four

9:16

points to make up. He could run well

9:19

and still have that number change

9:21

on him in the wrong direction. So that's why it's going

9:23

to be tough. Let's take a quick look at our upcoming

9:26

schedule we talked about this week. We're really excited about

9:28

going to Chicago. Then we're going to go to Atlanta

9:30

second time this year. First track we're visiting for

9:32

the second time, and then we'll head up to

9:34

loud in New Hampshire, Pocono and then

9:37

the short track of Richmond, Virginia. That'll be the second

9:39

track we're visiting for the second time. So pretty

9:41

exciting schedule coming up. But Brendon,

9:44

I am, I am. I'm fired

9:46

up for this week.

9:47

You know, I'm one of those guys I talked to Moody

9:49

this week. And I've never been a guy

9:51

that whether it's good. And you know, we've been together

9:53

a long time doing media tours, you know, we've.

9:55

Done all these things. I'm a guy when it comes.

9:57

To the sport Jeff that says, I

9:59

don't if I like it or dislike it.

10:02

We're going to see what it is and play it out. When

10:05

when the chase started, the sprint

10:07

for the Cup started to know for everybody

10:10

poop pooed the.

10:10

Idea, everybody this and that, and I said, timeout, I don't

10:12

know if it's.

10:13

Good or bad. I can have my

10:15

druthers of what I think, but let's play

10:17

it out, you know. And it turned out to be the

10:19

start of what I think is one of the greatest playoff formats

10:21

in all sport.

10:23

Then we went to the new car, the Gen

10:25

the next gen car.

10:27

Okay, and didn't go quite as well.

10:29

It didn't go quite as well, but NASCAR made

10:31

a quick reboot and chase it.

10:33

So I'm never a guy that says, oh,

10:36

I hate this before you started it, or I did or

10:38

I loved it before it started, because you're not

10:40

giving it a fair account. I can say whether I

10:42

liked something I liked the next

10:44

Gen car.

10:45

It had a wing. I thought these things were great. It

10:47

turned out to be a bust.

10:48

I loved the chase for the Sprint Cup and still loved

10:50

it to this day. So you know, it's

10:53

it's one of those things where this race, I think

10:55

this car in particular makes

10:58

this feasible.

10:58

Well, I think you look at the last five years and some of the really

11:01

cool things NASCAR has tried, whether

11:03

it's going to Austin, going

11:05

to Road America, running at the LA Coliseum,

11:08

running a race on dirt, going in crystal

11:11

dirt exactly, running

11:13

in the Iowa Cornfield if you will, in North Wilkesboro,

11:15

North Carolina. You know, so they've been able

11:17

to take some risks and take

11:19

some chances.

11:20

This is another risk, but it's also a great opportunity.

11:23

You're in downtown Chicago.

11:25

Man, come on, if they don't have play Blues

11:27

Brothers have to inter join ins on NBC.

11:29

I'm going to do that.

11:30

Well, I actually think the Bluesmobile should be the

11:32

pace car.

11:32

That's my thought. So the fastest

11:35

thing since Jake and Elwood. So I'm

11:37

calling on donnad all right, we'll be.

11:38

Back on Gone Racing We're going to show you the course

11:41

layout and start giving you the odds.

12:04

This is Gone Racing, Vson's

12:06

premier NASCAR betting podcast. Here

12:08

are your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

12:11

Gahn and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

12:13

Jeff Motley.

12:14

All right here we.

12:15

Are back here at the South Point, oh Tol

12:17

Casino at Lovely Beson Studios talking

12:20

all things to Chicago Street Race.

12:22

Brendan, you know where you and I really dropped the ball.

12:24

We really really should have dressed up like Jake

12:26

and Elwood for the show today.

12:28

You know, I am such a Blues Brothers fan

12:31

since I was. It came out before I was, you know, I

12:34

watched it. But Kerrie Fisher, the

12:36

original Blues Brothers the chase

12:38

scene. By the way, part of these roads are

12:41

in the famous chase scene that

12:43

are in Grant Park.

12:44

I mean that's they go right through.

12:46

They're going to be racing around Grant Park and Buckingham

12:48

Fountain is in the middle of the course.

12:50

The bean is going to be just on the north side

12:52

of the course.

12:53

You go back and watch the famous Blues Brothers

12:55

car chase scene through Chicago, and it's

12:58

right here.

12:58

Right here.

12:59

So here's a look at the course and and

13:01

Brendon and I know obviously no one has ever raced

13:03

on this course, so uh, we got a

13:05

lot of tight corners, We've

13:07

got a couple of fairly linkedy

13:09

straightaways.

13:11

It's so I've talked to some people about the course.

13:13

It is very tight and that's that is very.

13:15

Different rough I'm hearing it because they did not

13:17

really pave the street.

13:19

You know what we're doing here for Formula one, no grip.

13:21

I was told extremely low grip, lower than Sonoma,

13:23

which if that's possible, I didn't know it was, and

13:27

very tight on the corners. What I what

13:29

I see out of this though, is if you look at this track map,

13:32

long straightaway corner, long

13:34

straight away corner, long straight away

13:36

corner, there's many passing zones here, because

13:39

remember a quarner is where you're going the only

13:41

place you're going to pass. So I see one,

13:43

two, three, four, five, I

13:45

see six legit passing zones,

13:48

which is a lot of passing.

13:49

And I think I think the area from turn

13:51

two to turn five, because

13:54

turn three and turn four are

13:56

really just like a curve to me, that

13:58

is where you're really really going to need to

14:00

make some hay in that four and five you're going to kind of have to

14:02

do.

14:03

We don't have to keep your momentum through four and five

14:05

to be able to pass when you get to

14:07

turn six, I believe is what that is. So my

14:10

thing about this is I see passing opportunities,

14:13

but it's going to have to be old

14:16

school risky, stick

14:18

your nose in, be there and

14:20

force your way. And if you look that three

14:22

of the opportunities are the same turn corners,

14:25

So that means if you get the inside six,

14:27

you have the inside for seven, which is where

14:29

you want to be. This is it's

14:32

going to be old school road coursing. And to me,

14:35

we don't have a lot of data points on this. NASCAR

14:37

doesn't.

14:37

We don't.

14:38

We're going to and we're picking this. Let's start

14:40

start prefacing this now, Jeff.

14:42

We're picking this on Thursday.

14:44

We haven't seen a practice, laugh, we

14:46

haven't seen anything except the entry

14:48

list. So guys, what

14:50

we're going to do today, way

14:53

early in this right now, no one.

14:55

Put your money down to qualifying is over and

14:58

we.

14:58

Unfortunately that put our money down on Thursday.

15:01

But we're gonna tell anybody how smarter, how

15:03

dumb we are when it's all over.

15:04

But what I see is there are names in

15:06

this field that when

15:09

we were going to get the odds here a second that

15:11

I'm going to look at traditional guys

15:13

that have raced at a Long Beach, guys that have raced

15:16

at a Belle Isle, guys that have raced

15:18

at the street courses

15:20

somewhere. Austin Syndric aj

15:24

Allmendinger. You named, You named a name that NASCAR

15:26

fans are going to have no clue who he is. But

15:29

you know there's gonna be some we might I might actually

15:32

put money on a Jensen button this weekend. A Rick Wercar

15:34

because he is so knowledgeable about

15:38

street racing.

15:38

Right.

15:39

And and the guy you met, Shane van Geesebergen,

15:41

who is from New Zealand.

15:42

You notice that, Hey did you hear that?

15:43

Little?

15:44

What I had to do is I had the MC his press

15:46

conference at Nashville, so I got

15:48

the pronunciation right. Shane vng geesebegan,

15:52

that's pretty good. He's Australian. And next news

15:54

he's.

15:54

From New Zealand.

15:55

You WoT I know? They man,

15:57

he's from New Zealand, but he's raced the V eight

16:00

supercars down there, which most Americans

16:02

know. Marcus Ambrose a very successful

16:04

racer down there.

16:05

NASCAR fan in America.

16:06

The closest thing you have anywhere in the world to a stock

16:08

car, and honestly, one cup car, a

16:11

cup car. One of the baddest to the bone race

16:13

cars in the world is a V eight supercar.

16:16

Muscle car, big heavy car, big

16:18

motor. It's bad to the bone racing.

16:20

And I used to talk to Marcus about going down to

16:23

Australian racing one because I want to do it one day.

16:25

But if he comes from VA supercars,

16:28

that puts him in a category that I like.

16:29

You know, and I think with the simulators and everything else,

16:31

now, I mean, he's obviously going to get, you know, a

16:34

feel of what it is. And guess what, He's got as

16:36

much time on that racetrack as everybody else is

16:38

going to have. Absolutely And one other interesting rule

16:40

that NASCAR passed this week, no

16:42

one racing in the Cup race

16:44

is allowed to race the Exfinity race

16:46

on Saturday, so no one's going to get any

16:49

extra lap, so it's going to be exciting. I

16:51

think this course layout reminds me a little bit

16:53

of Watkins Glen maybe because of the bus stop

16:55

and in the back, but I

16:58

don't know.

16:58

We'll see, we'll see how out.

17:00

But we've got to get to our odds here, Briny,

17:02

so our odds to win and our favorite

17:04

this week. I'm actually

17:06

a little bit surprised, but Chase

17:09

Elliott is coming in at a plus five hundred

17:11

as our favorite. Then Tyler Reddick, Martin

17:13

Truex Junior, the hottest man in Nascart

17:15

plus six fifty, Kyle Larson's plus

17:17

seven fifty, a j Allmendinger plus nine

17:19

hundred, Kyle Busch ten to one, William

17:21

Byron eleven to one, Ross Chastein twelve

17:24

to one. And then the numbers get much bigger.

17:26

Chris Bush at twenty, Daniel Suarez,

17:28

Christopher Bell at twenty five, Michael McDowell,

17:30

Austin Sindrick at twenty eight, Joey

17:33

Logano, who always seems to win the

17:35

first race anytime we go anywhere, although he

17:37

didn't win at northwolkes Borough. He and Denny

17:39

Hammon are thirty to one and Alex Bowman

17:41

forty to one.

17:42

Well, look I start off with it.

17:43

Let's talk about the Joylgono thing won the inaugural

17:47

Colosseum.

17:47

Race, and he won the first dirt race at Bristol, won

17:49

the.

17:49

Dirt race at Bristol, and we said he had no dirt

17:52

experience. We on this show, We're like, oh,

17:54

he didn't even talk about Joeyligan.

17:55

He didn't win the first Code of race, and he didn't win the first

17:57

Northwolke Sports.

17:58

He didn't win them all.

17:59

But if you go back to when even

18:01

back in the Kentucky, I think he won Kentucky the year it

18:03

came out. I think he, you know, Joey the Gondal, is

18:05

a guy that knows how to win at these new tracks. So I

18:08

do like the Joy the Gone, but I said, I'm gonna focus on

18:10

guys that have traditional road race experience.

18:12

Let's start on this page. Michael McDowell

18:14

twenty eight to one, Austin Cindric twenty eight to one,

18:17

Daniel Suarez twenty five to one. These

18:20

are big long odds, and the Dinger at plus

18:22

nine hundred, I get the chase. Elliott

18:24

is a favorite plus five hundred. I

18:27

get it just because maybe we talked

18:29

about what he did a couple years ago, but I

18:31

think that that's way overrated, and

18:34

so I am going to fade Chase on a win here.

18:36

But man, I do like the dinger at nine

18:39

hundred. That's a great return. Ross

18:41

Chastain. Remember what he did at Coda. I remember how well

18:43

he's run at that place. I

18:45

like, there are big numbers here. I'm

18:48

so far in the lead I could just pick winners and see and

18:50

live and pull away from it.

18:51

And at the risk of you disagree

18:53

with me. You're the guy that's been a professional race car

18:55

driver. Clearly I have not. But I

18:57

do not compare this track

19:00

really to any road course, because there's

19:02

one thing that does not have no runoff.

19:05

If you make a.

19:06

Mistake here, you've hit a wall,

19:08

or you've hit a tire barrier. You've not

19:10

kicked up some dust at Sonoma or

19:12

those big, huge runoffs that do we

19:14

have heny years.

19:16

If I yelled at you about nascarizing

19:18

these road courses, what I say about Walkins, Glenn

19:20

and Sonoma, and why I love road America so

19:23

much is the nascarising the tracks

19:25

I hate now. Road America

19:27

has a penalty for missing huge curves,

19:30

dirt, grass, gravel pit, nasty stuff.

19:32

Sonoma, Walkins Glenn, They've got rid of those.

19:34

You can you can.

19:35

Blow drawn off. I got as fault out there.

19:37

You can keep blow.

19:38

Turn one by a mile and you're passed

19:40

three people. You know, this is

19:43

the nth degree of road racing. This

19:45

is where if you miss a shift going into a

19:47

corner and wheel hop, you are hitting a wall and

19:49

ending your day. So that's why to

19:51

me, I like some of these names

19:54

that that maybe you wouldn't normally talk about.

19:56

Maybe you're in equipment a lah Shane

19:58

Vane's.

20:01

Uh Jens began.

20:02

We're in some of these cars that maybe are lesser teams

20:04

that were not used to but they're not going to

20:06

make those mistakes. That's

20:08

what I like. I mean, I've raced long Beach, I've

20:11

raced street courses. It is a different

20:13

animal. If you know what you're doing, it will be a

20:15

huge advantage.

20:16

Taking care of your car. Okay, are long shots,

20:18

and it's interesting see some of these names on the long

20:20

shot list, if you will. But Ryan Blaney

20:22

coming off a horrible crash at Nashville last week

20:24

along with Kevin Harvick at forty five to one, Ty

20:26

Gibbs is fifty that man Shane Van

20:29

gheesbeg and I just like saying his name fifty

20:31

five to one, Chase Briscoe, Brad Keselowski

20:34

at sixty five, Ricky Stenhouse

20:36

Junior, Bubba Wallace at eighty, Todd

20:38

Gidlan, Ryan Priest, Noah Gregson, Justin

20:41

Haley, Jensen Button making a return

20:43

this week, Harrison Burton, Eric Jones, Corey

20:45

La Joy All at one hundred to one.

20:47

Anybody off this page, I guess anybody

20:50

can listen.

20:51

I want to get to the top threes because Jensen

20:53

Button for a top three Shane van Geisberg

20:55

in fifty five to one hundred to one. Okay, I like

20:57

it, but top three is a little more legit.

21:00

Yet. Maybe let's say, and if they're one hundred

21:02

to one here in fifty five to one here, what are they going

21:04

to be for the top threes?

21:05

Well, we are about to find out. So

21:07

let's take a quick look at our top threes here. No

21:10

big surprise here that we have Chase Elliott

21:12

at plus one forty, Tyler Reddick

21:14

and Martin Trix Junior plus one eighty five, Kyle

21:16

Larson's a plus two ten, Al mcdinger

21:19

two fifty, Kyle Busch two sixty, Byron

21:21

three hundred Chastain three thirty, bush

21:23

Or six hundred, Suarez and Bell seven

21:25

hundred, McDowell and Sindric seven

21:27

point fifty, Logano and Hamlet at eight,

21:30

Alex Bowman at nine.

21:32

Decent returns on the guys, I was mentioned Cindric

21:34

at seven fifty and a McDowell

21:36

seven fifty, Danner at two fifty. Man

21:38

they took that just lower than

21:40

I really want.

21:41

I'd like to say that at three hundred well, and rather pick

21:44

him.

21:44

To win basically at the nine hundred than

21:46

the two fifty. But the next page, Motley

21:48

is the one that I think is is.

21:50

All right, We'll take a quick look there.

21:52

Also Blainey and Harvick both are coming in at

21:54

a plus nine hundred, ty Gibbs at ten to one,

21:56

Van Gisbeggan at eleven to one, Briscoe

21:58

and Keselowski, Si Stenhouse and

22:00

Wallace at twenty two, and a whole

22:02

bunch of guys at twenty eight.

22:05

And in that whole bunch of guys is Jensen Button.

22:07

I gotta tell you, Jensen, but it's

22:10

a Rickware car. I don't think it may

22:12

be a little bit more than a Rickware car.

22:14

That's gonna be a Roush engine.

22:16

Is it gonna be a Penske. They're

22:18

a Ford teen feen, So.

22:20

I mean, I think it'll have a little bit more under the

22:22

under the hood. I think it'll have a little bit maybe, you know,

22:24

maybe it's going to come from a different shop. You

22:26

know how those things work some days that we don't always

22:28

know.

22:29

But I like the Van.

22:30

Gisberg and angle. I like the Jensen button angle.

22:32

Those are big returns on guys that have

22:34

so much experience.

22:36

I think it will come into play well.

22:38

I think it's gonna be interesting because I won't be shocked to see

22:40

somebody who surprises the heck out

22:42

of us.

22:42

So, okay, we come back.

22:44

We'll start getting our head to heads and our

22:46

group matchups.

23:38

Welcome back, everybody. I'm Jake. This

23:41

is Elwood. We're talking about Chicago this

23:43

weekend. Not really, this is Jeff

23:45

and that's Brandon.

23:46

But I think we're both more Jake than we are Elwood.

23:48

Well, you know this is probably true.

23:51

Jake was Belushi, Yes, yeah, j

23:54

yeah. I might have used to have Acroyds

23:57

bigger, but I don't anymore. So yeah, you and

23:59

I probably both John Belushi these

24:01

days. But except we're live,

24:04

we are a live So that's good.

24:05

You're down thirty thirty take

24:07

it. Wow, she's just exercising,

24:09

just exercising. I thought they said

24:12

you lose more in the kitchen than you do in the

24:14

gym. Wow, I'm

24:16

impressed. That's good. All right.

24:18

I got to get notes from Brendan after the show on

24:20

weight loss I believe. So okay, let's

24:23

talk about our head to head matchups

24:25

as we had to Chicago.

24:27

The Street Race not to be confused with Chicago

24:29

Land Speedway. Everybody you know that was an or

24:32

Chicago Motor Speedway, which I actually

24:35

was at that track one time, so I remember

24:37

going there. They were filming that movie

24:39

Driven or something like that. I believe Stallone

24:42

was there that day. I met all kinds of interesting

24:44

people that day as a Richard Dent was there robbing

24:46

you out?

24:47

Was there?

24:47

Chris and I went up to meet with Robbie ray

24:49

Hall about bringing a cart race to Vegas.

24:51

It was like, was it two thousand or two

24:53

thousand and one or someone?

24:54

I was not full time one.

24:56

You were racing because Kyle Busch I think, had to road

24:59

the plane back.

24:59

He was race.

25:00

He was like sixteen years old before they made him get out of

25:02

the truck when they went to Fontanas. So one a

25:04

long time ago. So okay, let's get back

25:06

to our head to heads. Here a

25:08

lot of Chase Elliott love, a lot of Chase Elliot

25:10

love, which makes me want to

25:12

bet against Chase Elliott almost here.

25:14

But Ross Chastain won twenty five minus

25:16

one forty five. I mean, look, Chastain's

25:19

proven himself to be a pretty decent little road racer.

25:21

And Chastain has

25:24

you know, he's riding high, right, I mean, the kid just

25:26

came off of another win.

25:27

He's finally got himself.

25:28

You know, they're not talking about You're not talking about

25:31

you had It's.

25:31

Been might be a record for Ross.

25:34

It's been what four or five races since we've heard

25:36

Ross chastpain being a schmuck.

25:38

So now he's got to win.

25:40

He's kind of pitching some of that

25:43

to the wayside. You had here where you

25:46

can you can root people out here and it's not going to really

25:48

piss anybody off.

25:48

Well, and I don't you probably weren't able to catch

25:51

all of Ross chas Stayin's post race press

25:53

conference. I'd actually sit through all thirty

25:55

minutes of it last Sunday night.

25:58

He made an interesting point. He said that he

26:00

had spoken with a number

26:02

of drivers. Truex Hamlin

26:05

were a couple of drivers he had talked to, and

26:07

they had kind of given him a little bit

26:09

of a little bit. Okay,

26:11

look, when somebody is really faster

26:14

than you are, unless you're racing

26:16

for the stage win or you're racing for the race,

26:18

wind show some courtesy and I'll bet

26:20

you those guys will show you that courtesy back. And

26:23

he talked about how at the end of the second stage,

26:25

how hard Truex raced

26:27

him, but he said that was at the end of the stage.

26:30

But he said everything that

26:32

they said would happen on the

26:34

racetrack happened, happened. I raced

26:36

those guys with respect. Those

26:38

guys raced me with respect. I mean,

26:41

Truex had a shot at him there, probably

26:43

with about eight or ten laps to go, gave

26:45

it his best. But I think everybody knows Martin

26:47

Trix Junior he's not going to put a fender on

26:49

anybody.

26:50

He just doesn't race that way.

26:51

Had he not had that conversation, and this was still

26:53

the Ross Schastain that they were everybody so mad at

26:56

even Martin Truex would have gone up there and dumped

26:58

him, you know.

26:59

So there's the differ diferences. He had the talk.

27:02

All right, I'll give you the leeway here on this

27:04

talk. Let's see if you honor it. I'll

27:06

honor it to you if you want it to me. And they did, and hopefully

27:09

Ross learned from it, because that'll be a bonus.

27:11

But one twenty five versus Chase.

27:13

I like that, Yeah, I do too. I think that's

27:15

part of it. I like that one.

27:16

I think the other one maybe that I really kind of like

27:18

up there is and I really don't know why.

27:21

I kind of like Christopher Bell the plus one twenty

27:23

against Kyle Busch.

27:24

I just I get this one

27:26

day till Bell just's.

27:28

You know, I don't know. He's a young guy who

27:30

these kind of things just seem to come naturally for

27:32

him. So I kind of like that one too. But

27:34

I'm with you. I really like Ross chest Day and against

27:36

Chase Elliot. All right, let's take it. Start getting into

27:38

our group matchups here, and I'm just gonna tell

27:40

all the folks here, the group matchups this week

27:43

are really hard to pick. At

27:45

least they're gonna be really hard to pick into Qualifying is over

27:47

on Saturday. So Brenda and I are gonna

27:49

do our best here. So group bay, Chase Elliot's

27:51

the favorite, Tyler Reddick, who's shown

27:54

great prowess on the road courses, plus two seventy

27:56

five, Martin Truex Junior who won

27:58

it Sonoma and is the hottest guy right now at

28:00

plus two eighty Kyle Larson at plus

28:02

two eighty five.

28:04

Yeah, I mean Hendrick, Hendrick

28:07

Toyota Toyota, you know, I mean this

28:09

is a battle

28:11

of road course titans here, right, I mean, I think that's

28:14

every road course win just about except for Ross Chastain

28:16

in the last few races. Very

28:19

tough to pick this one, especially before qualifying,

28:21

especially before practice, especially before

28:23

knowing anything about what's going to happen. So

28:26

I am really really not comfortable

28:28

picking Group A because I got to see

28:30

what's going on, so I can't touch it.

28:32

I'm with you, boy, Group A. I

28:34

think my gut right here tells

28:37

me. I just love how hot Trueex has been.

28:39

I don't like Elliott, I

28:41

really don't. I just he hasn't

28:44

done anything yet this year too.

28:45

I've been saying, remember, I might keep picking Chase Elliot every

28:47

week because he's going to win one of these. So I mean, I

28:49

could but keep with my trend and say I'm going to pick

28:51

Chase Elliot just because I think he's going to win one here soon.

28:53

But I kind of think this group's gonna come down to truection

28:55

Reddick. I really do, But it's

28:58

just my thought. Our group b our favorites

29:00

there Ross Chastain and aj Allmendinger

29:03

two point fifty five, Kyle Busch is plus

29:05

two seventy and Chris Buscher, who,

29:07

oh my goodness, couldn't We've got about we'd

29:09

certainly get him at least Group C or Group D. He's

29:12

a plus three ten, a big number. But man, you're gonna

29:14

pick him against Ross Chastain and aj Allmendinger.

29:16

There's a reason why he's in Group B.

29:18

Last ten road course races, eight top tens,

29:20

average finish eight point one.

29:22

Ain't a road course.

29:24

Last ten left and right turn courses

29:26

in NASCAR, eight

29:29

top tens in the last ten races.

29:31

Jeff Motley, we have talked about this.

29:32

The silent assassin on road

29:35

courses has been Chris Buscher.

29:36

So he absolutely deserves to be in

29:39

Group B. But that really pisses me

29:41

up.

29:41

That's what I'm saying. I was hoping not to have him in

29:43

group.

29:43

B because you put him against Ross Chastain.

29:46

The guy aj Allmendinger we've talked about, Kyle

29:48

Busch, you.

29:49

Know, is like dog gone it.

29:51

I mean, Kyle Busch average finished sixteen one last

29:53

ten, Chris Buscher average finished eight.

29:56

See.

29:56

The guy I really like here is Almendinger. I just

29:58

hope he has the car that's gonna do it.

30:00

I think colleague has the car.

30:02

I think he's got he's the driver. I think could be the car.

30:04

We'll see, all right, let's take a look.

30:05

Sure, come on, how do they put our men that kills

30:08

us?

30:08

I know, I'm like, that's my ticket cash machine.

30:11

It will pay me hem machine for gone racing.

30:13

Now, it will pay me not to pick them this week,

30:15

all right?

30:15

Group, see, William Byron is our favorite there

30:17

at plus two forty. Christopher Bell

30:20

is a two point fifty five, Michael McDowell

30:22

plus two to ninety, Denny Hamlin plus

30:24

three ten.

30:25

That's a big number on Denny Hamlin.

30:26

Yeah, I'm trying to get a stat here for Denny Hamlin.

30:29

Okay, Well, Denny Hamlin last

30:31

ten road course.

30:32

Races, I know it's not a road

30:34

course.

30:34

Well, and Sonoma, let's kind of.

30:37

He was running great at Sonoma and

30:39

he made that driving blunder

30:41

by smacking the of all walls

30:43

to turn twelve.

30:44

So the only top five

30:46

he has had in the last ten races was

30:49

Charlotte Road Course in twenty twenty

30:51

one. He has been awful

30:54

on no top tens, one top five, had

30:56

the pollet. Sonoma finished thirty six for a mistake.

30:59

So that's why Denny Hamlin is the dog in this

31:01

group, and apparently rightfully so. You

31:04

pointed out, you know, the Christopher

31:07

Bell thing, how he runs well everywhere.

31:09

I get that.

31:09

Also, McDowell is statistically

31:13

leader in the clubhouse. Mcdalell has

31:15

the best average finish, the most

31:17

top tens of anybody in this group.

31:20

So that leads me to you know, Seabell.

31:22

The only difference is he's got the one win

31:24

at Daytona. But other than that, mcdala

31:27

statistically is the best driver in the group.

31:28

See my thing with Denny Hamlin, and I look back

31:30

at the Sonoma thing with him qualifying on the

31:32

pole. Denny Hamlin is really

31:35

good on road courses when there's nobody else out

31:37

there. He doesn't race well,

31:39

but he's really good at getting around the track. He usually

31:41

tends to qualify well. I think

31:43

qualifying is going to be so important

31:46

in this race that I think

31:48

that Denny Hamlin. I think it plus

31:50

three ten plus three ten

31:53

at that.

31:53

Number A lot of juice left in there for a three to ten

31:55

on a guy like Denny Hamlin. So I

31:57

get where you're going. Me personally,

31:59

I like the two mids there. I like the two ninety

32:02

mcdallas. It's got enough enticement

32:04

to get me there. And I like Seabell at two fifty

32:06

five, just you know, based

32:08

off of what I saw him at Daytona the one year. So

32:11

I mean, I I kinda I'm in

32:13

the middle road.

32:13

Well, and one other thing with Danny Hamlin is I don't

32:15

think that he's gonna have to worry about any green, any any

32:18

yellow flag pit stops where you can lose fifteen

32:20

spots on pitt Road. I think everybody will

32:22

want to pit under green on this track,

32:24

And if you lose a second under green, that's not

32:26

nearly as bad as losing a second under yellow. A second

32:29

under yellow is fifteen spots. A second under green

32:31

might be one or two spots on the racetrack. So

32:33

all right, let's take a look at Group D. Here, Austin Sindricks

32:36

our favorite at plus two twenty, Daniel Suarez

32:38

two seventy, Ryan Blaney plus three

32:40

oh five along with his teammate Joey

32:43

Logano plus three oh five in

32:45

Group D, Blaine and Legano three

32:47

o five's in Group D.

32:48

Yeah.

32:49

Well, you know, once again, I started off the show

32:51

talking about what old Joey Logano

32:53

does at these new tracks. You put him as

32:55

the dog. The only fear I have there

32:57

is. Look, I was super high on Daniel Suarez. I

32:59

think the last two years I was like, Daniel

33:01

Suarez a great road racer, and I think he's

33:04

blown more transmission than I blew in my career

33:06

in the last five or six road races.

33:08

So I am off the Suarez bandwagon.

33:10

Now he's got one win, three top fives

33:12

in the last ten on road courses.

33:15

But in the other ones it's.

33:18

Twenty seven, twenty seven, thirty six, twenty eight, twenty

33:21

four, thirty seven, blown transmission, blown

33:23

transmission blow. You know, it's like dang so.

33:26

I mean, he's either feast or famine, so to speak.

33:28

But Joey Logano, man at them new tracks.

33:31

Joey Logano's well.

33:32

And you know, and Ryan Blaney's been a guy that's been good

33:34

on road course talking about I

33:36

mean, this is a.

33:37

Tough group here to pick.

33:38

I mean, because I think it's one of where you can make an argument

33:40

for everybody, and you know, the old one.

33:42

Can't make an arm the others.

33:43

Okay, we come back, we'll have our final segment, we'll

33:45

go finish up our groups, and we'll give you our picks

33:48

for Chicago.

34:11

This is gone Racing. Feasa's

34:13

premier NASCAR betting podcast. You're

34:15

your hosts former NASCAR driver Brendan

34:17

Gone and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

34:20

Jeff Motley.

34:21

And well, we get the white flag with one

34:24

segment to go.

34:24

I was expecting the green flag and then

34:26

the white flag with one minute to go.

34:29

Well, we get the white flag. It's a four lap

34:31

race.

34:31

That's too much counting for me to figure out.

34:33

But listen.

34:34

As bad as they are with giving us countdowns, let's

34:38

just start with white flag last segment.

34:39

But my earl Ross nugget for you here. That

34:41

is four lap race.

34:43

That is three laps longer than the

34:45

first ever race that was ever held,

34:47

which was actually held in Chicago in

34:49

eighteen ninety five. It was a one lap race,

34:52

average speed seven miles per hour.

34:54

I want you to know this true story. Go look it up.

34:56

They race from downtown Chicago to Evanston,

34:58

Illinois and back. They had to

35:01

avoid dead horses on the course, people

35:03

walking out into the road. There were only

35:05

six cars in the race. It's true story. Go look it up.

35:07

First race.

35:08

Eighteen cars were invented later than that. I

35:10

was first.

35:11

I was thinking that he's full of crap because I don't think there's

35:13

cars in eighteen ninety five. Second, wouldn't

35:17

that be called like a cannonball run running on like county

35:19

roads?

35:19

Well, yeah, pretty much was. But I'm telling you a

35:22

true story. Go look it up. Go look it up.

35:24

Eighteen ninety five. Yep, there were more horse drawn

35:26

carriages. There were not many cars, but there were. There

35:28

were six cars in the race, average speed seven

35:31

miles per hour.

35:31

It was a very small I

35:34

say, I just got on my air and said, eighteen sixty six

35:36

was when cars first invented.

35:37

Okay, well I don't believe this set at all.

35:39

Well, eighteen ninety five there was a race

35:41

in Chicago. So anyway, all right, we're getting to

35:43

finish up our group matchups here.

35:45

Group E.

35:46

Kevin Harvick major favorite at plus one eighty,

35:48

Ty Gibbs plus two ten, and some big numbers

35:50

on some pretty big drivers Alex Bowman plus

35:52

three hundred and Brad Keselowski

35:54

plus three sixty five.

35:57

I think once or twice Brandon, we might have seen a plus

35:59

four hundred or something on a group, but this is a very

36:01

very big number.

36:02

I'm too busy looking up the automobile right now.

36:04

Well, you can look that up when the show's over.

36:06

Sorry, uh no here.

36:07

So we were talking off air, I

36:11

that enticed, right. We talked about a book

36:14

enticing us to bet somewhere. Well you're

36:16

enticing us. You've got Kevin Harvick at plus one. Look at

36:18

the spread plus one eighty and plus three sixty

36:20

five. Why Kevin Harvick

36:23

is the favorite at that one point eighty I'm

36:25

not one thousand percent sure of.

36:28

To me either. That's why I'm not picking him.

36:30

I mean, Harvick is three top

36:33

tens, two top fives, average finished fourteen.

36:35

Alex Bowman three top tens, two top fives, average

36:37

finished thirteen to four. Okay, so I like

36:39

Alex Bowman on the numbers. You and I think the wildcard

36:42

here is Ty Gibbs because he has it's

36:44

done so well in the Xfinity Series and roll course stuff.

36:46

But who's been cashing more tickets for me

36:48

lately than even Chris Buscher. His teammate,

36:50

Brad Keselowski. He's three sixty five.

36:53

Brad used to be held road race. Remember Marcus Ambrose

36:55

and him having that amazing battle.

36:56

The other thing I love about Kaslowski is he

36:59

has a great attitude to new

37:01

things like he's like, bringing on, let's

37:03

give it a try.

37:04

That comes in with the right attitude of this sort of

37:06

thing, and that's.

37:07

A big deal. So I kind

37:09

of like that.

37:09

Through sixty five, I think they're enticing me with

37:11

a big enough number to say I

37:13

could do Brad.

37:14

Yeah, I like that too. All right, let's take a look at Group

37:16

F. Chase Briscoe is our favorite at plus two fifteen.

37:19

Then the numbers get pretty big. Todd Gillan and two

37:22

eighty, Eric Jones coming off at top ten last

37:24

week at Nashville at plus two eighty five, and

37:26

another guy with a big number who is almost

37:28

worth looking at, Ricky Stanhouse Junior plus three

37:30

twenty five.

37:31

Yeah, but I think I talked for Sonoma that Ricky hadn't

37:33

had a top ten like ever in a road course, and he

37:35

got one at Sonoma, which was at

37:37

CODA.

37:38

So you gave him the reverse jink. So whatever.

37:41

That's but right

37:43

now, if I'm picking a guy without looking

37:45

at stats, Chase Briscoe is probably the most

37:48

accomplished road racer in that group. Chase prisco

37:51

came from a lot of different road racing

37:53

background over at Raus. She'd been there a long time

37:55

doing some road racing, so I kind of leaned

37:57

towards the Brisco thing.

38:00

Gilan No. I mean, look, he's he's pretty.

38:02

Scrappy, right, He's got a lot of West Coast

38:05

road racing experience in him. But if

38:07

I got everybody, I do like the favorite therap at two

38:09

fifteen.

38:10

Yeah, probably gonna stay away from that group.

38:12

All right, Let's take a quick look at our manufacturer odds

38:14

this week. Chevy's coming in at minus one twenty,

38:17

Toyota at plus two hundred, and

38:19

Ford coming in at plus three eighty.

38:22

I tell you like, I like like the like

38:24

the Toyotas this week at plus two

38:26

hundred. I think

38:29

with you got a lot of guys Joe

38:31

X out there, Reddick out there, Bell, Denny

38:33

Hamlin. I just think that there's an opportunity

38:36

for the for the Toyota's out there. So I

38:38

kind of like Toyota there at plus two hundred.

38:40

Yeah, so do I I do like the plus two hundred the Ford

38:42

number. I mean, Joey Logano, the jokes

38:44

we're making, but Joey Logano kind of is only

38:47

one Ryan Blaney maybe, so

38:50

I do like unless I get a Jensen

38:52

button you know, with his plus one hundred and one to

38:54

win. But I do like the plus two

38:56

hundred on Toyota.

38:57

All right, let's take a quick look at our season

38:59

chainampionship. The guy who, please, let's

39:01

look, the guy who is fading fast

39:04

now is Chase Elliott. He is all the way down to

39:06

a plus nine hundred. And the problem with Chase

39:08

Elliott right now is even

39:10

if he can get his way in, if he points his way

39:12

in, he's going to get in with no playoff

39:14

points.

39:15

And I think that's gonna but.

39:17

Plus nine hundred, you know, I mean, that's you got

39:19

to look at where's the value at right now?

39:21

Tyler Redick has dropped back to twenty to one.

39:23

I think that is a another you

39:26

know, golden opportunity right there of guys

39:28

that have gone the right way. Ross

39:31

Shastain stayed at twelve, so I think that's still a

39:33

steal. I think Ross will continue to go

39:35

down as this goes on. So there's

39:37

still some good numbers out there.

39:40

I still think getting Martin Trix Junior at plus

39:42

seven hundred is a good one, probably good number, you

39:44

know, so certainly you know those numbers

39:46

are not the only way those you're going to see

39:48

a gigantic move right now is if someone

39:51

who's got a big number ends up picking

39:53

up a win.

39:53

I don't think we're going to see a ton of.

39:55

Let's get to urg.

39:56

I know you've been excited to talk about how

39:58

well we did or how poorly we did last week.

40:00

We will not talk about my picks.

40:02

Ryan Blaney trying to knock down the inside

40:04

wall and turn one certainly put me behind

40:06

the eight ball for the entire day. Uh

40:09

Pit crew did eke one out there

40:11

with Martin Tricks Junior winning Group A.

40:13

Uh so they did get one win. But Brendan,

40:17

you also had the true X pick. You

40:19

also had Chastain. I mean, if you'd been really smart,

40:21

you'd picked Chastain to win instead of just winning

40:23

Group B. And then and then you hooked

40:25

your wagon too, Brad Kasilowski. I mean

40:27

you basically just said take that Pit crew

40:30

and and your lead is pretty much

40:32

insurmountable.

40:33

Now you have a well Listen, I never

40:35

say I'm a sports guy. It's

40:37

never over till it's over. Now.

40:39

I was gonna give you props. You you know last year

40:41

was a struggle. This year, what a great turnaround.

40:43

Just somehow I will try to take like a fifty

40:46

to one guy at Daytona and see if

40:48

I can make up ground on Brendan.

40:49

Make it do it here.

40:50

But the good news is the pick crews catching Jeff.

40:57

Past week point.

40:58

They gained five point one point because

41:00

they gained point one point last week,

41:03

So it's kind of like I'm gaining on the pit crew.

41:05

Really go in the other directions is really

41:08

more like it.

41:09

So who picks first?

41:10

Again? Oh, that's we do know

41:12

who picks first.

41:13

So we're gonna pick Brad Keslowski

41:15

to win the Atlanta Motors.

41:16

Oh that's next week. Sorry, alright, preview next

41:19

week.

41:19

All right for the pick crew this week, we're gonna be high

41:21

on Ross Chess Day top three plus three thirty

41:23

and we liked the number against Chase Elliott at

41:25

plus one twenty five. Tyler

41:27

Redick to win group at plus two seventy five. He should

41:29

have won his group last week, but that was a tough

41:32

loss for US.

41:33

Michael mcdowald won his group

41:35

last week. He was out at the beginning of the second

41:37

stage.

41:38

He was top five the entire time. If they can

41:41

tighten one lug nut, we have been perfect one.

41:43

We only had one, I know screwed

41:46

up the one Michael mcdowald win Group

41:48

C at plus two ninety and you've been high

41:50

on Todd Gillen. Sometimes for these

41:52

races we go left and right, so we picked them Group

41:55

F plus two eighty one.

41:56

Of those road course guys. A lot of road course

41:58

ringers there for those guys. All right, my picks,

42:01

I'm gonna well, here comes the

42:03

kiss of death because I have a sneak peek

42:06

of Brendan's picks too. But Ross

42:08

chess Stain over Chase Elliott. Everybody seems

42:10

to like Ross chess Stain.

42:11

Over Chase guaranteesus and Chase Elliott will absolutely

42:14

He's probably going to win the race or he's

42:16

going to finish second, and Ross is going to finish thir third.

42:18

Yep. And in my other picks, I'm going to

42:20

go into the groups.

42:21

I am going to go with aj Allmadinger in

42:23

Group B, that plus three

42:25

ten on Denny Hamlin in Group C,

42:29

the plus three sixty five on Brad

42:31

Kaslowski in Group E. And

42:34

I am going to jump on to Toyota bat Van

42:36

Wagon this week. I like Toyota plus two hundred

42:40

all.

42:40

Right, All right, Well, I

42:42

am going to take a little bit different approach

42:44

here because not because I

42:47

because you can, not because I can, because

42:49

I think that I think those are good picks. I'm

42:51

going off of what I started to show with guys with experience. I'll

42:53

start with the dinger to win, right, aj Allmendinger.

42:56

He's plus nine hundred. I think

42:58

that that this is his way to get into the playoffs. I think he

43:00

kind of has this circle. I think he qualifies well.

43:02

I like what Colin has, like their motors, like their package.

43:04

I'm going him.

43:05

I'm taking Austin Cindric In Grew for

43:08

top three. I like what

43:10

I see from Syndric, and.

43:11

I'm going to go.

43:11

I'm putting my money where my mouth is. Shane

43:14

Van, He's began,

43:16

He's beregan for a top

43:19

three V eight Supercars. Come

43:21

on, my guys from down under my Kiwi,

43:24

let's go. I will not call you an Aussie. I know

43:26

the difference onl like Jeff Motley. So I'm going

43:28

Shane Van Geeze Betigan for the

43:31

top three. I'm going to keep the head to head

43:33

as we said. Chase I just

43:36

ross Chastain one twenty five and a head to head

43:39

way. Too much of a of an

43:41

opportunity there, and I'm going to finish

43:43

it off with Brad

43:46

Keselowski. I'm sorry, big

43:49

Brad. Three sixty five got me three eighty last

43:51

week.

43:51

I'm going to give me another.

43:53

So we all three agree on chess stain

43:55

over Elliott, you and I are together on Keselowski

43:58

to win his great.

43:59

Welcome picking brag because we had

44:01

two kiss of deaths there that had just been.

44:04

Yeah, that would have been that would have been rough. All

44:06

right, we got I don't know what about thirty thirty

44:08

five seconds left in the show. Excited

44:10

for this week at Chicago, you kind of I just think

44:12

it's great.

44:13

For the sport that we're gonna be racing.

44:14

No, I do think it's great for the sport. I love the Blues

44:16

Brothers' references.

44:17

And by the way, the first steam powered vehicle was sixteen
