This is Gone Racing, Fison's

0:04

premier NASCAR betting podcast. Here

0:06

are your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

0:08

Gone, and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

0:11

Jeff Motley.

0:14

Welcome into another edition of Gone Racing. Jeff

0:16

Motley, Brendan Gone. I think they said that on the promo,

0:19

but we couldn't hear the promo in the studio today.

0:21

So we are go back to the the.

0:23

To they four through two one, but

0:26

we didn't get the countdown and we just got the

0:28

no no.

0:28

If you remember last week, last week

0:30

we said, hey, the after the promo

0:33

starts, stop talking, I'll point to you guys. Obviously

0:35

you didn't hear the promo, but I was pointing.

0:36

He was pointing. But then I see the tire screeching

0:39

on the screen, and I'm like, well, I'm going to talk over

0:41

a screeching dire.

0:42

Listen, we're getting T shirts made professionally

0:44

unprefeund exactly.

0:45

We're off and you know what is sad? Brendan, this

0:48

is All Star Week and none of us are

0:50

acting like all Stars.

0:51

The first we're talking about the

0:54

epitome of All Stars.

0:55

All right, Well, we do have the All Star Week coming

0:58

up we're all excited about this throwback to

1:00

North Wilkesboro. In fact, we probably should

1:02

have done some kind of a throwback thing either

1:04

last week or this week. It's like all kinds of

1:06

old timey stuff between Darlington

1:08

and North Wilkesboro. So before we get to the All

1:10

Star Race, let's talk about Darlington

1:13

last week. Now, I'm going to start off

1:15

by a couple of observations. One,

1:17

William Byron probably is

1:20

carrying a horseshoe that Kyle Larson

1:22

lost somewhere. And

1:25

secondly, we are

1:27

talking again about the

1:29

same driver who has not

1:31

won a race yet this year, but seems

1:33

to be in the middle of the finish

1:35

of every race. So if William Byron got the win, and of course

1:37

we're talking about Ross Chastain, quite

1:40

an interesting race at Darlington.

1:42

You know, here's we of course, everybody's

1:44

talking about this in NASCAR right and today. Since we have

1:46

a show with the All Star Race

1:49

and betting isn't kind of the normal, we might do

1:51

a little more, let's say, NASCAR

1:53

commentary today.

1:54

But the problem you have

1:56

with Ross Chastain right now.

1:58

Is not that he's look. A lot

2:00

of people like the aggression. You listen to NASCAR radio

2:02

to listen to the shows. Look, Larry

2:05

mcgrenold said he did a Fox deal where he went all

2:07

these Fox networks over the week, ninety

2:10

nine percent of them all wanted to know about this Ross

2:12

chest Hang, guy, it's great for the sport. People

2:14

are talking about it. The problem we have in the sport

2:17

it's racecraft. He's

2:19

lacking race He's got talent. I've said

2:21

this what a couple weeks ago. Kid is immensely

2:23

talented. He wins races,

2:26

he drives the heck out of things, but

2:28

he's lacking racecraft. When you wreck guys

2:30

on lap five fifty one

2:32

hundred, when you wreck guys early in the race,

2:35

you are making enemies that will make it where you never

2:37

win a championship ever.

2:39

And I think that is becoming a

2:41

problem to his team owner too, that Justin

2:44

Marx said this week. He goes, look, we had to

2:46

sit down this week and have an honest

2:48

conversation here. I think even Justin Marx

2:50

is like, wait a minute, we got a championship winning

2:53

driver. You got a championship winning

2:55

guy, but right now, from between the

2:57

ears, you don't have a championship.

2:59

Here's if you do these things at the end of the

3:01

race.

3:02

If there's five, ten, twenty laps to go

3:04

and it's the go time and you

3:06

rough a guy up.

3:08

I Talladega, he put it right.

3:10

He put a hole in with with he he wrecked

3:12

Noah gret I'm gonna say he wrecked

3:15

Noah Gregson. No he didn't. Noah

3:17

made a mistake, left a little hole. Ross took advantage.

3:20

You got Talladega.

3:21

He right. But but the problem is with

3:24

the past history.

3:25

You look at that situation and go Ross

3:28

just wrecked the field again, right

3:30

because what he.

3:31

Did to Noa Kansas now

3:33

that well he didn't need to be doing.

3:34

No But that the point is, it doesn't matter if it was

3:36

the right or wrong. Now you did it at the right

3:39

time in a right move where somebody did something, but

3:41

you are going to get beat on by saying

3:43

you did it wrong again. So if

3:46

you clear up the lap fifty mistakes, clear

3:48

up the lap one hunter mistakes, clear up these

3:51

these bonehead moves early in a race, and

3:54

just fight at the end, nobody's

3:57

going to have a problem with you. Then you're Joey Lagan.

3:59

Nobody has a problem with Joey Logano. Joey

4:02

Logano. Listen, Joey Logano

4:04

does more black hat stuff than anybody

4:07

else, but.

4:07

It's always with five lapses.

4:09

It at the end when it matters, and he gets

4:11

his deal and he looks at and here's.

4:12

What I also like about Joey Logano. Joey Logano

4:15

gets out and goes.

4:16

Hey, hate

4:18

me, well, but look his

4:20

his job is to win races. Right now, what did

4:22

Ross chest stay and do it? Darling? He took himself out.

4:25

Well, and that's why the narrative is all of a sudden

4:27

changed for his team owner.

4:29

Oh he cost himself.

4:30

He took our own t He

4:32

gets lucky and Wrexham and I can't believe

4:34

nobody goes after and gets it more. But the problem

4:37

is you don't need friends to win the

4:39

championship, but you can't

4:42

have everybody in the field

4:44

be an enemy, right exactly, because now

4:46

you go to lap a guy championship

4:48

round and Kyle.

4:50

Busch had a bad day.

4:52

Look what Kyl Larson did at Kansas, right,

4:54

Kyle Larson having a bad day.

4:57

Dover or dover, that's what it.

4:59

Was going to do.

4:59

But it was well, it was because Chest at

5:01

ran in the back of where it was Jalachol

5:04

or something stay in the way.

5:06

So you need those guys to not

5:08

be in the way.

5:09

You don't need a friend, you just don't need letomy

5:11

in right now when you can take the field

5:13

and you and it's short list to pick the

5:15

guys he hasn't pissed off than the guys

5:17

he has.

5:18

That even includes his own teammate.

5:19

That's right. That at the end of the year when

5:21

he needs something, he ain't going to get.

5:23

It, you know. And one of the other little bits of controversy

5:26

he was really involved in was at the end of

5:28

the first stage when he basically slammed on the brakes

5:30

to keep from lapping his teammate Suarez, and it

5:32

took Truex out.

5:33

And once again it's a situation,

5:35

I is anybody else you know what's going on. But

5:38

because he's involved in his history,

5:40

this is what happens. He's trying to help.

5:42

His teammate, he's trying to be a good teammate, yay,

5:45

and he does it poorly, makes a bad

5:47

decision on how he does it,

5:49

gets wrecked and people are mad at him.

5:50

Again. Well, let's talk a little bit about the guy who

5:53

won this past weekend at Darlington William

5:55

Byron was a plus eight fifty to win, a

5:57

plus two forty for a top three, plus

5:59

two forty five win Group B, a plus

6:01

one forty against both Denny Hamlin and

6:03

Kyle Larson. Well, well,

6:06

somebody might had Kyle Larson and

6:08

was not real happy with the way that ended. Is we

6:10

had a good weekend, Okay,

6:13

Pitker's still in last place and part now and

6:15

Chevy getting closer to you.

6:17

That's right, three weeks in a row weave game.

6:19

Not closer to me. Don't even look.

6:20

I'm starting to feel like Ross Chest and I'm getting ganged

6:23

up on over here by you.

6:24

Oh you the instigator. What

6:26

was that football player? He told us to look up?

6:30

Yeah, football Yeah,

6:33

and uh and Chevy also a plus one

6:35

point thirty to win. William Byron now is

6:37

the only driver with three wins this year.

6:40

He certainly has started to emerge, maybe as

6:42

a championship favorite. But look, and

6:44

I give and I know you like to say you got to be there,

6:46

and I give William Byron all the credit for being

6:48

there. But boy, Kyle Larson's

6:51

bad luck has certainly been

6:53

William Byron. I mean he had Larson had

6:55

Vegas won late caution, Byron

6:58

wins. I believe it was Richmond Phoenix.

7:00

It was Phoenix, Phoenix. Harvick's had one.

7:03

Phoenix Harvick Harvick had Phoenix won, and

7:05

then the Lake caution and Byron wins and then Larson.

7:08

I mean, look, Larson was probably the better car at Darlington,

7:10

and then he gets taken out on that last lap,

7:12

crash there, and who's right there to win it?

7:15

Will?

7:15

You got to be what I always tell you, got

7:17

to be in position, just like when Blainey won a

7:19

couple races. You go, oh, Blaine, you got to be in position

7:21

when he won the Roval. You know, with Jimmy

7:23

and Truck, got to be in position. Byron is

7:26

in position. Hendrick is still strong.

7:28

And what I liked about that though, is at the end of the race,

7:31

that last restart, you watched Kevin and

7:33

Kevin who hasn't won in a long time, right, Kevin's

7:35

hungry, but.

7:37

He ran very clean.

7:38

There's the difference between respectful

7:40

and tough and hard nosed,

7:42

and Kevin and Byron ran each other respectfully.

7:46

Well, you heard what Kevin even said on his radio to

7:48

his crew when it was over. He goes, look, he goes second

7:50

place was better than trying to get first place

7:53

and ended up twenty fifth. Yes, you know so,

7:55

I think he had a big picture. Speaking of Kevin Harvick,

7:57

he was second. He was a plus four hundred for a top

7:59

three. Chase Elliott came in third, best

8:01

run since he's come back from injury. Uh

8:03

plus three thirty. The guy finished his third in the race.

8:06

I want to point out it is the second time

8:08

this month that I've had a guy to win

8:10

his group, to place in the

8:12

top three, and I did not

8:15

win my group. I just want to point that Outakay,

8:17

it.

8:17

Sounds like you can do bad beat story all

8:19

you want. I know somebody that did win. Although

8:22

now I want to talk up some other teams. There's

8:24

some names here there now the RFK team,

8:26

Brad Keslass. We got another

8:29

top team with Chris Busher, Bubba Wallace.

8:31

Another top five.

8:32

That's two with Kansas and

8:35

and that uh and then Harrison

8:38

Burton. Now that car,

8:40

that twenty one car. Now, granted

8:42

I'm old, but I will tell you there

8:44

was nothing greater than watching David Pearson

8:46

and wheel that twenty one at Darling. Because

8:49

he owned Darlington Raceway grant

8:51

he grew up down the road in Spartanburg there, but uh,

8:53

I think that's awesome to see see the twenty

8:55

one car Harrison Birthday six Justin

8:57

Haley coming in there with an eighth.

8:59

We talked about him last one week.

9:00

After I picked him to win a group and he totally

9:03

wet the bed, and then this week he got.

9:05

Talking about last week that Haley was.

9:07

You know, he had strong runs at Darlington, so

9:09

great job to that one. That was another good one.

9:11

Right there he did. And Kyle Busch is seventh and

9:13

Ryan Blaney a ninth. I don't necessarily know that

9:15

either one of those are really big shocks

9:17

to us. So now

9:20

we'll take a look at how we've been

9:22

doing this year with our twenty twenty three race

9:24

winners. We mentioned the fact that Byron the only

9:26

guy with three wins, Larson, the two Kyles,

9:28

Larson and Bush each have a couple of wins, and then

9:31

Belle Hamlin, Truex, Redick, Legano, Stenhouse.

9:33

We got nine different winners. Brendan William

9:36

Byron really threw up, threw a big old

9:38

wrench into your e.

9:39

That's a wrench there, wrench, come

9:41

on you, So look.

9:42

At the repeat winners, though we'll get the names

9:44

that haven't won.

9:46

Ross Shastain is tenth right there, and

9:48

now Ross Shastain is still your points

9:50

leader, by the way, but he is

9:53

tenth in playoff standings.

9:54

Hasn't won. Kevin Harvick been running

9:56

top five's again every week. Has it won.

9:58

Ryan Blaney hasn't won. RFK getting

10:01

better hasn't won. You got Alex Bowman now out

10:03

of the cutoff, hasn't won. There's

10:06

some other guys down there. Chase Elliott hasn't won.

10:08

There are a lot of guys here. And don't forget we

10:10

still have aj Allmendinger and all those road races.

10:12

We've still got another super Speedway race with Talladega

10:15

or Daytona before the cutoff that

10:17

we could still get it. And Daniel

10:20

Suarez, who is underperforming right now. But

10:22

that cutoff line, who doggy?

10:24

Is that gonna be fun to watch? I mean that

10:27

when we get to that twenty sixth race, whether

10:29

whether we got the winners or not, Jeff, that

10:31

cutoff line is going to be super

10:33

fun to watch.

10:34

No question about that. You know. The guy that's really kind

10:37

of made a run here lately is Bubba Wallace.

10:39

Has he kind of came from about twentieth or twenty

10:41

first, and we got to look there at our

10:44

race winners so far this year. We've had thirteen

10:46

races this year, seven of them have been

10:48

won by double digit favorites. So I

10:50

think that's pretty good for the better there's a great

10:52

return on their investment.

10:53

Absolutely, and look at some of the some of the names that were double

10:55

digit though. Martin Truex Junior was ten to one, Kyle

10:58

Busch was sixteen to one. William Byron,

11:00

he wins Vegas, comes back the next

11:02

week and he's twelve to one.

11:04

Again.

11:04

We looked at that, remember, and said, what the

11:07

book's got something wrong there? I mean, the guy's on fire.

11:09

Joey Logano twelve to one. NASCAR champion Joy

11:11

Logano twelve to one. So a lot

11:14

of these double digit guys are huge names

11:16

in.

11:16

The sport well. And one reason Kyle Busch was

11:18

a sixteen to one where it was at it was a talladega.

11:21

You really like to talk about how much he hates

11:23

racing on those big tracks. So he got

11:25

it done win. There's probably a little bit

11:28

of a surprise for everybody for Kyle

11:30

Busch getting there, so Anyway, it's kind of interesting to see

11:32

what we've got up there so far going into

11:34

this season. So, okay, we'll be back

11:36

on Gone Racing in just a few minutes and we'll

11:38

start breaking down our show.

12:03

This is Gone Racing, Vison's

12:05

premier NASCAR Betty podcast. Here

12:07

are your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

12:09

Gahn and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

12:12

Jeff Motley.

12:13

Back here on SEGMA two, have Gone Racing really

12:16

getting the finger point hard from Wyatt

12:18

on that one right there. It's like like he was almost

12:20

like Uncle Sam that I want you point

12:22

there to.

12:23

Rob Marino was the goats of Vson said I should

12:25

get like a little flag so you guys ready fa

12:28

Yeah.

12:28

Kind of like the Di Kenba Matumbo fingerway.

12:31

He could have a green flag for when he counts us in

12:33

and the checker flag when he counts us out.

12:35

Yeah, that's interesting. We have to put

12:37

another camera on him just to show him

12:39

being the honorary starter. Okay,

12:41

back here to SEGMA two as we digress, and

12:43

we were just talking about the double digit winners.

12:45

So last year, before the All Star break,

12:48

we had eleven of our thirteen winners

12:50

we're all double digit us.

12:51

I remember this is but the next next year car

12:54

is the big deal here when the new car which

12:56

had me all screwed up last year betting wise, but

12:58

the next gen car, he's been a big deal for

13:00

the sport.

13:01

And all the way through the regular season last year,

13:03

twenty six races in the regular season, twenty

13:05

one double digit winners. But I think part

13:07

of that too was because even the odds makers

13:10

really didn't know either because of the new car.

13:12

This year still seven of thirteen.

13:14

I still think having more than fifty percent double

13:17

digits now that we've got a year under our belt, year

13:19

and a half of this new car pretty remarkable,

13:21

which really just kind of shows the return that you can

13:23

get, you know, by picking winners.

13:25

Well cash and tickets has gotten tough, right, I

13:28

mean we said that last year. When you have when you

13:30

have eleven of thirteen double digit guys, that's

13:32

tough. When you have twenty one of twenty six races

13:35

getting double digit winners, that's difficult

13:37

because it makes it where we

13:39

don't you know, makes the odds makers kind of go

13:42

hmm. And the guys that showed up the track

13:44

house teams that he didn't expect that showed. Well,

13:46

you know, all these teams kind of had had

13:48

a raise in their performance with that next

13:51

gen car.

13:51

It was a big deal last year.

13:53

Chase brisco at Phoenix was

13:56

your biggest double digit winner at this point

13:58

at fifty to one year

14:00

Daytona, where we maybe expect it more

14:02

often than Phoenix. Right, thirty

14:05

to one for Stenhouse.

14:06

Is really surprising that Stenhouse was sexy thirty

14:09

to one.

14:09

Yay.

14:09

Still, you know, I mean we talked about how

14:11

good he is there, but still, how about Phoenix.

14:14

That was such an amazing thing last year.

14:16

Phoenix was a fifty to one shot to win the race

14:18

and that took us.

14:20

Remember last year, that knocked our socks off.

14:22

Now, well, and that was Briscoe's first career win. And

14:24

we really hadn't seen much out of the Stuart Hats

14:26

team for a couple of years other than you know,

14:28

in Harvey Cat were running late

14:31

last year. All right, Well, let's take a little bit of

14:33

a mid season recap, if you will. Probably

14:35

the three biggest storylines we've got

14:37

so far in the season. Obviously the start that

14:39

William Byron has, you know, he's got three wins

14:41

already, going in the Hendrick Motorsports

14:44

teams. These guys seemed

14:46

to get hurt doing things other than running cup

14:48

races. Obviously, Chase Elliott

14:50

missed six races this year because of a snowboarding

14:52

accident. Alex Moowman is still out.

14:54

He's missed three total races now and

14:56

I believe he's going to be out this weekend as

14:59

well for the aust Our race, which means

15:01

that Josh Berry has to qualify

15:03

through the open that is not a car.

15:06

NASCAR said that the car is

15:08

not in and and why would you bring if

15:11

Alex is even remotely close to coming back, why

15:13

would you bring him back for the All Star Race?

15:15

Correct?

15:15

Not the race to bring him back for anyway.

15:17

Especially knowing that the two races

15:19

that are going to follow that gateway should

15:21

not be his taxing on his body Sonoma.

15:24

It's a road course, yes, but it's

15:26

not.

15:27

Going to be He's not going to hit a wall hard if he has something.

15:29

Correct, he's got runoff room and and things like

15:31

that.

15:31

And then of course we started the show talking.

15:33

About our good old boy Ross Chastain

15:36

reckless, wrecking, reckless Ross,

15:38

reckless Ross. I guess that's going to be his new

15:41

Reckless Ross. I guess that's going to be his or

15:43

Reckon Ross or Ross the Wrecker.

15:45

I don't know.

15:46

We can a lot of a literate wreck

15:48

it Ralph and and everyone

15:51

and le So we got a picture here apparently

15:54

is that photoshop or is that real?

15:56

That's photoshop?

15:57

That is definitely photoshop, because I don't believe Ross

15:59

has got the ink on the right arm quite

16:01

like that?

16:02

Or is that Jacked good Point?

16:04

Whose body is?

16:05

That? Is the WWE Universal

16:07

Heavyweight Champion of the World, Roman Reigns,

16:10

who is also in the other photoshop

16:12

photo that we do.

16:12

Oh that's right, the one that you guys used to show all

16:14

the time when you were champions, not down

16:17

thirty points.

16:17

Well, I will tell you that if that photo

16:20

was online and people really thought that was Rosschastain,

16:23

Noah Gregson would have never walked over to

16:25

him after Kansas, I.

16:27

Will give I saw it on Twitter and I was like,

16:29

oh, we got to use this.

16:31

I like it. I like it.

16:32

Okay, all right, we're gonna take a quick little glance

16:35

at our season standings. We talked about him a little

16:37

bit in our first segment, but guess

16:39

who the points leader is Brendan, it's ro it's

16:42

Rossstain without a win, four hundred and twenty

16:44

nine points. And you know what might surprise

16:46

some people is who's in second in points

16:49

is Christopher Bell four and two.

16:51

The guy's consistent every week. He's got eight

16:53

TOI or tens.

16:54

When you watch the graphic on the podcast, this

16:56

is the playoff standing. So when we show the season standings,

16:58

we do it by playoff ranking, which is what NASCAR

17:01

does. But when you look at the points total,

17:03

the points that that's why some of the fans

17:05

complain that it's gotten too complicated because

17:08

of this reason, but they still have a

17:10

regular season points champion

17:12

and right now Ross shast ten would be it.

17:15

That's why we still have two different categories

17:17

because they're they wanted to give member a

17:22

bonus to a guy that did the

17:24

old school was the best racer all season,

17:26

and so far Ross Shastas are point there.

17:28

And that's I guess the confusing thing. We have the point standings

17:30

and we have the standings, yes, because

17:33

I don't want to bring out Christopher Bell. He's got

17:35

more top tens than anybody in the

17:38

series right now, He's got eight or eight top tens.

17:40

No, Byron's only got seven top tens eight. Christopher

17:43

Bell's got eight top tens, more than anybody out

17:45

here on the circuit. Now, the guy who is third

17:47

in points is not even in

17:49

the top ten in the standings,

17:52

and that's Kevin Harvick. Kevin Harvick's got four hundred

17:54

points coming in just below Christopher

17:56

Bell, but he's all the way down actually in eleventh

17:59

in the standings because he doesn't have a win. So

18:01

you're right, that's where it can get a little bit bit dice.

18:04

Confusing for people.

18:04

It can be. All right, let's talk about our upcoming

18:07

schedule. We've got coming. We've got the Wake this weekend.

18:09

We obviously have the All Star Race at North Wilkesboro.

18:11

We get the carpool if you're there.

18:13

Oh yeah, parking could be a challenge,

18:15

uh there, to say the least. And then we got

18:18

a couple of normal sized racetracks. We

18:20

got the longest race of the year, the Coca Cola six

18:22

hundred in Charlotte. Then we head out to Gateway

18:25

Track that we like to say is very similar to

18:27

Darlington, and it's layout other than it doesn't

18:29

have the banking. It's got one wide turn

18:31

one.

18:32

Phoenix is Phoenix Darlington, you

18:34

know got a lot of it's a fun race course.

18:36

Let's just say it's super fun to race it at Gateway.

18:39

Right, and then we have we go out to the road

18:41

course out in Sonoma. I look for In fact, I'm

18:43

going to be at two of those races, Sonoma and Nashville.

18:45

I'll be at both of those. So head up to the road

18:47

course at Sonoma and then Nashville the

18:49

I think the nash Vegas it's our third trip

18:52

back to the Nashville Super Speedway for the Cup

18:54

Series. Now I believe I think Las Vegas the

18:56

second one. So that's our next five races

18:58

we got coming up. But this weekend we're really

19:00

excited about going to Northwolkspur. There's not been

19:03

a Cup race there since nineteen ninety

19:06

six.

19:06

I love the I love the stats that Karna gave

19:08

us for this one.

19:10

Oh let's see, since Bill Clinton

19:12

was president, the number

19:14

one song was the Mackrena.

19:16

Can you really didn't need to bring that one?

19:17

Can you do the mock Arena?

19:21

I am. I don't know if I'm

19:23

proud or if I'm sad.

19:24

Yeah, hopefully you're listening, not watching that one.

19:26

Sorry, that was awful, and of course they took the graphic

19:28

down to show it.

19:29

Uh, that was not good.

19:31

How about a young up

19:34

and comer, the last winner at Rockingham.

19:36

Jeff Gordon Rockingham?

19:39

What do you got your mind on Rockingham?

19:41

I mean, didn't mean Rockingham. Sorry, I said Northwolksborough.

19:43

They're all old in North Carolina.

19:45

They're all there, Okay. I like I like

19:47

the I like her.

19:49

I like her.

19:49

Bill Clinton was president the Macharena

19:52

and then threw in a NASCAR Jeff Cord.

19:53

You know, I remember being there when I was a sports writer covering

19:55

when Harry Gant went on his run of winning four

19:58

straight races and he had to pass Earnhart

20:00

to win at Wilkesburg and that was his fourth consecutive

20:03

win when he went on that streak, and that was back in the early

20:06

nineties. Wilkespur is an interesting place. It's a

20:08

little bit more than a half mile track. It's like a

20:10

point six to something mile track. So it's

20:12

a little bit bigger than Martinsville, got a

20:14

little bit more banking than Martinsville, a

20:17

little bit more out in the middle of nowhere than Martinsville,

20:19

which is saying saying a lot. And I can say that because

20:22

Martinsville is my hometown, and

20:24

I think we figured it up. There's we could We

20:26

named very quickly at least

20:29

six drivers that were not even born

20:32

the last time they raced. They raced here,

20:34

William Byron being one of them. I think we said

20:36

what Noah Gregson, Justin Haley,

20:38

Todder Gillen. With seven drivers

20:41

then seven so we had Todd Gillen, Harrison Burton,

20:43

Tyger Gibbs. You we can just you know,

20:45

say here.

20:46

The fun part about this is, you know, nobody

20:48

cares about second in this race.

20:50

Nobody remembers second in this race.

20:51

You can name you know, a theaytona five hundred

20:53

close finish, you kind of remember who second was the

20:56

All Star Race. Nobody cares. It's

20:58

one million dollars to the winter. This

21:01

is the place it's at. It's now back in

21:03

a short track, which it hasn't been in a long

21:05

long time.

21:05

Well, it was a crystal during the pandemic, the.

21:07

Pandemic, but this is this is a real short track.

21:10

You think somebody might pay ross back here.

21:13

Here's my thing. I say, no, you know why,

21:15

because they don't get anything out that doesn't mean anything.

21:17

Everybody was talking about how old somebody's

21:19

gonna do. No, no, no, this one means nothing. You

21:21

got to do it where it hurts, that's the point.

21:23

It's not. And I mean I don't

21:26

mean hurt physically, No, I mean

21:28

hurt in the financially, in

21:30

the point.

21:31

To getting a million dollars taken away from you, that's it.

21:33

Yeah. But here's the thing.

21:34

If he ain't gonna win, it's

21:36

he's not going to win.

21:37

To win it. But but this is not the race. You just go get

21:39

him in ten.

21:40

You wait till he's got points on the line, and

21:43

then you move him out of the way.

21:44

And you know, one thing that very rarely ever comes

21:46

into play in an All Star race is lap

21:48

traffic.

21:49

This is this was going to have some lap traffic.

21:50

It's going to be lap traffic. And let's go through the format

21:53

real quick here, just so everybody kind of knows what's

21:55

going to win. It's a simple format. This year, it's

21:57

on a two hundred lap race. There's going to be a caution

21:59

a lap one hundred. Everybody

22:01

gets four sets of tires, but you can only

22:04

use one set after lap one hundred.

22:06

After that stoppage, so that's going to be interesting. There

22:08

will be a challenging piper challenge is going to have a

22:10

lot to do with the qualifying and the heat races.

22:13

All the winners from twenty two to twenty three, pass

22:15

Cup champions, past All Star winners. I think

22:17

there's also going to be four other drivers

22:19

in the race, three from the open and a fan boat

22:22

that will go in, so we won't know who those guys are

22:24

to the last minute. But it's a little simpler than some

22:26

of those Stephen Hawking formulas

22:28

we've had, way.

22:29

Simper than the last couple of years when we've had had,

22:32

you know, inverts and all this

22:34

stuff.

22:34

Try to this is short track. They don't need to play

22:36

all the games.

22:37

Yeah, I think that's gonna be interesting. And I said, we talked about

22:39

earlier that we're probably going to have some lap traffic come

22:41

into play in a short track. So we'll see

22:43

how this one works out. Okay, we'll be back. We'll have some

22:45

odds on the All Star Race. Next segment.

23:36

I love how many times we say podcasts. We're

23:39

podcast Okay, we're here in segment

23:41

three talking about what I consider NASCAR's

23:44

version of the Field of Dreams game. You know, Baseball

23:46

plays that game out in the Iowa cornfield, at

23:48

least they did for a couple of years, and

23:51

I think that's kind of what NASCAR is doing here. By running

23:53

the All Star Race in Northwolkesboro. I

23:56

guess we could have probably just cut a dirt track out of a cornfield

23:58

in western North Carolina and be kind of similar,

24:00

right.

24:01

I think they kind of did that with Wolfsboro because there's

24:03

more grass going through than anything about six

24:05

months ago.

24:06

But we do have odds and even though this race

24:08

does not count for points, this

24:11

race does have odds on it. And if you do bet

24:13

the All Star Race, that is real, real money,

24:15

so you really could win some money,

24:17

and I guess go the other way. So let's

24:19

take a look at it. We got four guys in single

24:22

digits. Kyle Larson's a favorite at plus six

24:24

point fifty, Kevin Harvick is a plus

24:26

seven fifty, Joey Logano and Christopher

24:28

Bell plus nine hundred, Martin

24:30

Trix junior, William Byron at ten to one, Denny

24:33

Hammin's eleven, Ross Chastein is twelve, Chase

24:35

Elliot fourteen, Kyle Busch sixteen,

24:37

Ryan Blaney eighteen, Tyler

24:40

Reddick and Brad Keslowski at twenty five, Bubba

24:42

Wallace and Chase Briscoe at twenty eight, Chris

24:45

Bush or Daniel Suarez at thirty five, Austin

24:47

Dillon at forty five, Ricky Stenhouse

24:49

Junior, Eric Jones and Austin Sindrick

24:52

at sixty five. And those are the drivers

24:54

who have qualified for the race.

24:56

We've got a number of names you may not say make

24:59

Noah Gregson, Josh Barryho's

25:01

probably be filling in for Alex Bowman, Ty

25:03

Gibbs, some of those folks, they have not a j

25:05

Allmendinger, they have not qualified for the race

25:07

yet. They'll have to get in through the open. Yeah.

25:09

That that's remember when you're looking at this,

25:12

this is just it's.

25:13

A short field. This is not a full field race.

25:15

So you gotta remember you're you're gonna have some guys

25:17

that we don't have like a second page because

25:19

it's not the whole field. The rest of the field has to

25:21

come in through the open and we will

25:23

get some drivers. So remember you get

25:25

the state. The winners from the race from

25:28

the open stages, we'll get in and then

25:30

there's the fan vote. They'll have high odds.

25:33

Really not even worth it because I don't think a fan

25:35

vote or a I don't think anyone from

25:38

the open has ever won the.

25:39

Other That is not true.

25:40

Really.

25:40

Michael Waltrip, he won the All

25:43

Staries. Michael Waltrip got in through the open and won

25:45

the All Staries. I do believe that is the case. Ryan

25:48

Newman and Ryan Newman. I'm not sure about

25:50

Ryan Newman, but I'm pretty sure because I think Michael Waltri's

25:52

first win ever was the All Star race funny.

25:55

Yes, right, he got in through the open because he had

25:57

no other way to get in because he had never won a race.

25:59

That is right, And Michael Waltrip did win it.

26:01

That was that it was his first I sat there trying to remember when he wanted

26:03

No, it was it was his first win because it's

26:05

way, but it didn't count.

26:06

Yes, right, yeah, that's the only way. So I do know Michael

26:08

Waltrick came into the open. I don't know about why.

26:11

It's spouting some Ryan Newman Earl Ross stuff

26:13

back there. Maybe that's the case too. I just but

26:16

I never remember Michael Waltrip. So Brendan,

26:18

if you are betting this

26:20

and you clearly have no North

26:22

Wilkesboro data points,

26:25

if you want to try to look at another race,

26:29

how somebody did somewhere,

26:32

what would you look at? You looking at Martinsville? Are you looking

26:34

at Phoenix? Are you looking at Richmond?

26:35

No?

26:35

What I what I'm doing is I'm looking at just I'm

26:38

just going short track in general. Right,

26:40

I'm just going to go look at at

26:43

what has happened at short

26:45

tracks.

26:46

And that's you can. You can look at the

26:49

Colisseum.

26:50

The only problem is the Coliseum had has brand

26:52

new asphalt every year, right,

26:54

Wilkesboro, I keep saying rocking, and Wilfsburg does not

26:56

have new asphalt, So you got

26:58

to kind of hedge what you're want to look at.

27:01

But certain things. It's still a racetrack,

27:03

it's still a short track, and it's still

27:05

this car. So just the fact we

27:07

haven't raced on it just means

27:09

there's not less data. So I'm gonna look at guys like Joey

27:11

Logano won the UH one,

27:14

the the LA

27:16

Coliseum race looked really well there. I'm

27:18

gonna look at Martinsville, look how they did there. I'm gonna

27:20

look at Richmond even, look how they did that. Because

27:22

there's some banking at Wolfsboro, so it's not like it's

27:24

flat like Martinsville. So I'm gonna take all

27:26

those things, lump them together and say, Okay, what

27:28

do I got to me?

27:30

You're gonna use AI to figure this out?

27:32

You could, but the guy I like on

27:34

this right off the bat is and you're gonna laugh.

27:36

Kevin Harvick. Why do I say,

27:38

Kevin Harvick?

27:40

I don't know how many guys have raced on

27:43

old war out race tracks.

27:45

These young kids. William Byron he

27:47

never raced on a old wart. He didn't even do late one.

27:49

Well, let me tell you, William Byron looked pretty good on an old worn

27:51

out racetrack last week.

27:52

Absolutely, But I'm talking about an old

27:54

short track wore out.

27:56

You know these guys that have that. Denny Hamlin

27:59

raced all over in late models.

28:01

Kevin Harvick raced at Monroe

28:04

and Portland and these old schools.

28:06

All I'm going to I'm going to argue

28:08

back with you on that.

28:09

Okay, I like it.

28:10

Kevin Harvick doesn't remember when

28:12

he raced on those tracks. Like you know who's been running

28:15

a lot of later You know who has been

28:17

racing a lot of those late model tracks is William

28:19

Byron. He's been doing a lot of that over the

28:21

last three or four years. He's been running

28:23

these smaller tracks. I'm just telling you, Kevin

28:25

Harvick has forgotten what it was like to race at Mason

28:28

Morin and Stockton ninety nine

28:30

and some of these steel ways. Now you don't

28:32

forget. It's a different race car on the track too,

28:34

that I do believe in.

28:35

But I like it. Denny ham I mean Denny Hamlin

28:37

eleven to one. Denny Hamlin.

28:39

He runs his own short track thing because he's the Denny

28:41

Hamlin short track guy, right, Denny Hamlin

28:43

eleven to one.

28:44

Kevin Harvick seven to fifty.

28:45

Joey Logano, the guy that won the you

28:47

know, most of the short track stuff and has been great at Martinsville

28:50

in places like that nine hundred. I like

28:52

those numbers. I like those guys that

28:54

are a little older, a little more seasoned behind.

28:56

Them, you know. And a guy that you didn't mention who

28:59

has who shows has shown

29:01

great ability to run on these old, worn out racetracks

29:04

and short tracks. Sixteen

29:06

to one Kyle Busch. I mean,

29:08

look at the way he's run at the Coliseum, yep.

29:10

And look and if we want to talk about going back

29:12

to the old days, we remember him racing

29:14

out here at the bull Ring. And there's

29:16

never been anybody as good as Kyle Busch

29:19

on that little three eighth mile track over there.

29:21

So that's I'm

29:23

liking the old guys.

29:24

Here.

29:24

I'm William Byron, hottest thing in the track,

29:27

I get it. But I'm not on the William

29:29

Byron pages right here. I'm on

29:31

the Kevin Harvick, the

29:33

true ex. The Denny Hamlin, the Kyle

29:35

Busch. I'm looking at some of the older guys

29:38

saying, I think they got the advantage.

29:39

And let's not forget that they can

29:41

only take one set of tires

29:43

after that midway break. So the

29:45

guys that can manage their equipment better,

29:48

I think those guys are going to have an advantage. And I do

29:50

like Harvick, I like Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin.

29:52

The older guys do tend to manage

29:54

their equipment a little bit better because they've learned. Okay, let's

29:57

take a look at our top threes. Kyle

29:59

Larson comes in is our favorite there on the top

30:01

threes. He's a plus one seventy five. Kevin

30:03

Harvick is a plus two hundred. Joey Logano

30:06

comes in at plus two to twenty five along with Christopher

30:08

Bell, Martin Trix Junior,

30:10

William Byron at two fifty, Denny Hamlin

30:12

and Ross Chastain three hundred, Chase Elliott

30:15

three fifty, Kyle Busch four hundred,

30:17

Ryan Blaney five hundred, Tyler Reddick, Brad Keslowski

30:19

at six fifty, Bubba Wallace, Chase Briscoe

30:22

plus seven hundred, Chris Bush or Daniel Suarez

30:24

at ten to one, Austin Dillon is fourteen

30:26

to one, Ricky Stenhouse Junior, Eric Jones

30:29

and Austin Sindric all at eighteen to one.

30:32

Same thing. You know.

30:32

The only thing I'd add is there's great returns on

30:34

top threes. I mean a Kyle Busch four hundred, a

30:37

Denny Hamlin three hundred for a top three.

30:39

You might want to get me to throw in a Seabell

30:42

or a Reddick with the dirt experience, you know, and

30:44

sliding things around. But I still I'm

30:46

folksing on. I like that Kyle Busch four hundred.

30:49

I really like that. I really really like that.

30:51

Denny Hamlin three hundred, Martin truex

30:53

Is two fifty. I mean I do like

30:55

those. I mean those are those are decent numbers.

30:57

And remember, for today with the All Star Race,

31:00

I think we're all kind of in agreement that not

31:03

a lot of things here to bet we got some head

31:05

heads.

31:05

We don't have a full compliment of things. Have

31:07

we decided whether these are going to count for us on goone

31:09

racing? Yet? Did we come up with.

31:11

That so last year?

31:12

Miss?

31:13

Last year we were like, no, it's not going to count. We'll

31:15

do this for fun. And then everybody had a positives

31:18

We're like, yeah, we'll count it.

31:19

So I see, but last year,

31:21

last year we had group matchups, and it's our

31:23

show.

31:23

We can make the rules. So I say it doesn't count unless

31:26

we do well.

31:26

That's true, but all three of us have to do well

31:28

exactly.

31:29

See, that's the whole thing. If two of us do really

31:31

well and somebody else.

31:32

Is just six percent, I mean we can

31:35

vote you off the island.

31:35

This is a this is going to be a jury decision.

31:38

Here means that you know, well,

31:40

at least three we have a three person jury.

31:43

And by the way, I figured out three

31:45

guys have won or been in the open

31:47

and won the All Star Race Newman because it

31:49

was in twenty and two when they did the segment winners, and

31:52

Kyle Larson in twenty nineteen.

31:54

Oh Larson did I didn't know?

31:56

There we go. Larry mcnuggett

31:58

for the no ear

32:00

Ross muggs.

32:01

On this show. It's Earl Ross Nuggets.

32:03

It's nice giving a little homage to our buddy Larry

32:06

Mack though I.

32:06

Don't mind you a lot of but Earl Ross on the.

32:08

Show Okay, all right, do we want to

32:10

start our driver head to heads? You want to get into the head

32:12

to heads, Brendan, We got about I don't know what. We've

32:14

got a minute and a half to go, we'll start. We'll start our

32:16

head to heads. Why not? So let's take a look at

32:18

our driver head to heads, and you know, we kind of put

32:20

the whole group of them up there. Christopher Bell plus

32:23

one twenty, Kyle Larson's minus

32:25

one forty the biggest number we got

32:27

up there on the board. Tyler Redicks also plus one

32:29

fifteen to Joey Logano's minus one thirty

32:31

five, A lot of other numbers, even

32:33

numbers minus numbers. We do a Bell at plus

32:35

one oh five against Byron at minus one twenty one.

32:38

That I'm going to circle is we've seen Brad Keselowski

32:40

right now, and that RFK team run really really well.

32:45

But but the guy who's running against is running

32:47

pretty well too.

32:48

But that's and that's where I was going. What's the best racetrack

32:50

that Bubba's been on? Is one winning the truck series?

32:52

Is, you know, is Martinsville? He ran great

32:54

at Martinsville this year. You got a minus one ten

32:57

minus one ten, and remember how bad

33:00

Brad Keselowski was last year and

33:02

this year at the UH at

33:05

the Coliseum didn't

33:08

make the main either year. I

33:11

I like that minus one ten with Bubble

33:13

Wallace. I can I can look at that and say,

33:15

ooh, that's that's kind of a you

33:18

know, look.

33:19

We're we're we're.

33:20

Struggling for bets here, but minus one ten against

33:23

the minus one ten I like.

33:25

I like the Bubble Wallace bet. I'm I can do that.

33:27

I also like the Kyle Busch minus

33:29

one ten versus Ryan Blaney.

33:31

Yeah, and I think sometimes I look at those plus lines

33:33

and I'll be honest with you, Christopher Bell. I

33:35

love the big numbers, getting the plus one twenty

33:37

there on Kyle Larson. I love the plus

33:40

one oh five on William Byron. Okay,

33:42

we come back, we'll tell you how we did last week,

33:44

and we'll give you our picks for the All Star Race.

34:09

This is Gone Racing, Fison's

34:11

premier NASCAR betty podcast. Here

34:13

your hosts former NASCAR driver Brendan

34:15

Gone and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

34:17

Jeff Motley.

34:19

Back to our final segment on Gone Racing All

34:21

Star Week. A little bit of a different show this week,

34:23

haven't had quite as many odds to talk about. We didn't

34:26

have our favorites the group matchups, but we

34:28

are going to talk just a little bit about where we are

34:30

for the season. The odds right now.

34:33

We really haven't seen a lot of movement, probably

34:35

over the last few weeks. Is I don't think anybody's been surprised.

34:37

Obviously. The guy who's numbers

34:39

get smaller and smaller and smaller is William

34:42

Byron. He's now down to a plus seven hundred,

34:44

where he opened the season at twelve to one. We've

34:47

seen guys like Chase Elliott's numbers have gone

34:49

the other way. He's up at plus eight hundred. He

34:51

opened at plus five point fifty. I think a lot

34:53

of that probably has to do with all the races

34:56

that he missed and the fact that he finally

34:58

came back and looked pretty strong last week. But let's

35:00

be honest with you, he got a third place finish with

35:02

probably a seventh or eighth place car because

35:04

of a lot of fortunate things that happened

35:07

in front of him. So nothing

35:09

really jumps out at me right now in the season standings.

35:12

There's three right there in a row

35:14

that I just you got

35:16

to figure they're in that they're going to be

35:18

in the playoffs and all that. Kyle Busch eleven to one,

35:20

Martin Truex twelve to one, Joey Logano twelve

35:22

to one, three NASCAR champions, three

35:24

perennial final four favorites

35:27

and NASCAR champions.

35:28

A couple of two time champions.

35:29

There a couple of ky multiple time champions.

35:32

So I mean, you got eleven, twelve, and twelve,

35:34

and they haven't moved much. As you see, the line hasn't

35:36

gone much since the start of the season. They've

35:38

been staying right there. But that's still

35:40

a great odd for those three in my opinion. I just

35:43

I think.

35:43

That that those

35:46

are still some value.

35:47

And then Ross Shastain has dropped to

35:49

fifteen to one, and I think that is because

35:52

so much money has been moving towards the Chase,

35:54

Elliotts or maybe you know some of these other guys

35:56

that you're thinking. But Ross at fifteen

35:58

to one, I don't think it's going to get much bigger

36:01

than that, if you want the truth, I mean, that's probably the biggest

36:03

his odds are going to be.

36:04

So might want to jump on that too.

36:06

And I think that's the thing we have to point out here. This is the odds

36:08

to win the championship

36:11

to your future, that's how you have it. And even if Chas Dayin

36:14

wins a race, I don't know that

36:16

I'm expecting to see his numbers change

36:18

dramatically. Just to tell you the truth,

36:20

I think a little bit of this number is reflective of

36:22

the fact that I think people realize these

36:24

other guys probably aren't gonna let him win the championship.

36:27

All that, And that's that's the hard part is if

36:29

he straightens his act up, even let's say

36:31

he straightens his act up today at race thirteen,

36:34

what does anybody have that short term

36:36

of a memory, Well, will they forget by then?

36:39

You know?

36:39

I mean that's the hard part is you know, maybe

36:41

by next season, maybe by the season after if he

36:43

if he changes his deal. But that I

36:45

think that that number, it's going to be tough for him

36:48

to win it when when like I said, having

36:50

friends is don't need friends, but

36:52

you can't have that many enemies. So but it's still

36:55

fifteen to one on a what I say, as a

36:57

championship caliber driver is

37:00

a big number.

37:01

Well, and as we make a

37:03

segue Ross Chastain

37:06

really cost me last week. He didn't

37:08

just cost Kyle Larson last week or

37:10

cost Noah Gregson the week before, but he cost me

37:12

last week too because if he doesn't get in that crash

37:14

with Kyle Larson, I went a few more of

37:16

my bets, and you Turkeys would have lost

37:19

a few more of your games.

37:20

I'm more mad at Ryan Newman because

37:23

Newman brought out the caution with fourteen laps to go

37:25

by just losing it.

37:27

And I was winning.

37:29

Four of my five bets,

37:32

including the two big ones. I

37:34

had the three thirty and the two seventy.

37:36

I had Christopher Bell in a top three I

37:38

had. I had Kyle Busch winning his

37:41

group. I was there four or

37:43

five. I'm texting you guys all the

37:45

all that you know what's going on. You got the by the way, that's

37:47

the wrong r.

37:47

I have the wrong grand put the wrong

37:50

speaking of professionally on profession the

37:52

right one. There's the right. So to me, he

37:54

won three of them anyway, I had

37:56

the two.

37:57

The two big ones were winners.

37:59

And then they hit Pitt Road

38:01

after Newman spins, and the first thing I see

38:03

is Kyle Busch

38:05

and the lucasol Chevy. He didn't just miss

38:08

his pitt. He ended up in the next guy's

38:10

pit. I was like, what in the hell

38:12

are you doing? And so now I'm pissed off.

38:14

My GT's okay, We're all right. I still

38:16

got Seabell and I was still winning.

38:18

Ahead to head and then what was it?

38:20

One to go? Christopher Bell comes riding

38:22

down pit lane and.

38:23

Wext he takes him back and forth, and

38:25

I'm like, You've got to be kidding me.

38:27

I wanted to kill them, but I.

38:29

Was so mad. I think I just texted you

38:31

Bell with the face palm emoji.

38:33

I just I could not believe it. But I still get three for five,

38:35

So not a bad week.

38:37

And you've got the Byron over Larson because

38:39

of what happened at the end of the right. So you did.

38:42

But I was not the big winner of the week. The big winner.

38:44

We got to give a golf clap finally to.

38:47

Our pit crew, the pick crew.

38:48

They got a couple of gap We're only five laps

38:51

down.

38:51

Keselowski finally came through for them.

38:54

Uh and Denny Hamlin and talking about it, got

38:56

back group A where Dinny finished

38:58

eleven twelfth because

39:00

some of us had Kyle Larson in Group A

39:02

who should have won the race.

39:04

But that last five laps I think, what was it Trux's

39:06

in Group ed.

39:07

Yeah, well the last five laps have cost you

39:09

guys an weeks and cost me.

39:11

Well, the last five cost me again, but it

39:13

didn't cost you guys.

39:14

This is why you don't sit at the betting

39:16

window with your ticket before the race is over, right,

39:18

I mean, this is what's so great is we

39:21

have had we have all had tickets in hand,

39:23

walking to the ticket window and

39:25

gone.

39:27

Oh, do you know how ESPN does

39:29

those bad beats With Scott Van Pelt.

39:31

I'm telling you right now, he can get five out

39:33

of five of those out of a NASCAR race

39:36

every single week. We've had some more bad beats,

39:38

I believe this year in NASCAR.

39:40

Who is the large leader in

39:42

the cool Yeah.

39:44

This is like a North Wilkspur race from nineteen

39:46

sixty two when Richard Petty had like seven

39:48

laps on the field or something. Right

39:51

now, So all right, we got some picks

39:53

to make this week, and well at least the pit crew

39:55

is still in last, so we're gonna let Wyatt make

39:57

his picture.

39:58

Were I where

40:00

the trajectory's going up for us right.

40:04

All right, here we go pit crew picks.

40:06

They made an engine change,

40:10

we fired the attent cret.

40:11

We're on like our fifth crew chief right now. So

40:14

we got Joey Logano to win plus nine hundred.

40:16

And the reason why we picked Joey Logano because he somehow

40:18

wins the first race of every.

40:20

Like to points. He's got a good point three

40:22

out of the four that the dirt dirt, the dirt race,

40:24

the Colisseum and Gateway.

40:27

All right, ear Ross Nugget, Timber

40:30

Ago to day and.

40:31

Now we're going back to North Wilkesboro. So it's

40:33

a new hometown track for Martin Trick Junior. We got

40:35

him to win at ten to one, William Byron

40:37

to finish top three two fifty, Chase Elliott

40:39

to finish top three three point fifty, and.

40:41

The Chase Elliott over Ross Chastain even money.

40:44

Oh shockingly, I

40:46

am in agreement on a couple of picks with a pit

40:49

crew today. I'm going to take two winners,

40:51

just like the pit crew did. I am.

40:53

I like the Martin TRICKX Junior ten to one,

40:55

So I'm gonna go Martin Trix Junior ten to one. The

40:58

other one I'm going with is Kyle Busch at

41:00

sixteen to one to win. Really like Kyle

41:03

Busch there. I'm gonna take one top three

41:05

and it's in a concert with our pit

41:07

crew, Chase Elliott for top three

41:09

at plus three fifty. My other two are going

41:11

to be head to heads. I am all in on

41:14

the Christopher Bell bandwagon. I'm gonna take

41:16

Bell at plus one twenty over Kyle

41:18

Larson and also Bell at plus

41:20

one ozh five over his buddy William

41:23

Byron.

41:24

All right, well, so good news

41:26

is I'm hoping.

41:28

I don't care if you guys wouldn't to lose because I got

41:30

something all across the board on you guys. I'm

41:33

doing just three top threes. I don't need to hit a home

41:35

run like you two. I don't need the big return on

41:37

something. I just need to chip just

41:40

keep chipping away.

41:40

Hey, we just need you to be a positive.

41:42

That's all I gotta keep doing.

41:44

So I am going to go three top threes,

41:47

and I'm gonna put my money where my mouth is on two

41:49

of them. Kyle Busch plus four hundred, Denny

41:51

Hamlin plus three hundred. I mean, these are two

41:53

perennial guys that do well on you

41:56

know this style place they've note now how to get

41:58

around these places. And then there's something

42:00

about that Seabell pick that I just like. In

42:02

the top three, I think Chrisopher Bell plus

42:04

two twenty five looking

42:07

at stats on the last ten you know short tracks,

42:09

and I just I like Seabell

42:11

there.

42:12

Then I'm just doing two head to heads. I

42:15

talked about it.

42:15

Bubble Wallace minus one ten versus Brad Keselowski.

42:18

RFK has been running great. RFK

42:20

has made a whole new world. But

42:22

when it comes to short tracks, Brad K he's

42:24

missed the coliseum in the last two years, didn't run

42:27

well at Martinsville this year. So I'm

42:29

jumping on the Bubble Wallace bandwagon

42:32

and I'm.

42:32

Going Kyle Busch versus Ryan Blaney.

42:34

I I just the two minus

42:37

one tens look like a you know, I'm

42:40

willing to give up the juice on that one. So those

42:42

are my Those are my five today, mister Motley.

42:44

And then the three of us will be texting at some point

42:46

on Sunday night to decide if we're going to count him

42:48

or not. Well, listen, but

42:50

you know what if you bet them and you put real money

42:52

down here at the counter house point that's

42:55

counting here.

42:56

I look back at it last week.

42:57

For me, when I look back at it last year, the

43:00

pick her up plus point four.

43:02

So we're like, all right, that's positive kount

43:04

of everybody.

43:05

So hey, don't you think we should just decide right now

43:07

we're going to count him or not? No, profession.

43:11

I think we should. Wait. It's the

43:13

All Star Race. You know what's going to happen.

43:15

Yeah, I know what's going to happen. I know exactly what's

43:18

gonna Pit Crew and I are going to finally come through. We're going

43:20

to get that win from Martin Trix Junior, and

43:22

you're going to lose four R five bets and you're

43:24

going to have the veto You.

43:26

Guys said us three and oh it can't be two and one.

43:29

And I agree with that. That's why I think we should I

43:31

think we should decide now.

43:32

I wish I wish you guys the best luck on all your picks this

43:34

week.

43:36

So one week we're not rooting against each other. We

43:39

didn't give anybody to kiss a death. This week, we didn't

43:41

give anybody, you know, we didn't put the We didn't put the sliplock

43:43

crowd on.

43:44

In fact, I think the only double the dual

43:46

picks are the pit crew myself.

43:48

We've got the true win and Chase Elliott

43:51

for top three. Right brand, We got about a minute left. Are

43:53

you excited about the Austra being at Northwich?

43:55

We're excited about northwarlks Bro. I'm hoping for great

43:57

things there. Our girl Jill is there. We're helping out

43:59

with the SMI crew. I'm really

44:02

hoping for a great show. Marcus Smith did

44:04

it for the fans. All I'm going to keep saying is

44:06

fans, you wanted it, you

44:09

better show up.

44:09

Well. I think what we saw from the Cars Tour

44:12

event it was pretty given.

44:14

Eric, by the way in the best number in the round, just

44:16

saying best number

44:19

in the round?

44:19

Was he driving sixty two?

44:20

Yes he was.

44:21

Wow, I thought they were Heeling's number.

44:23

I can't believe they haven't retired sixty two.

44:27

That's the story for another show in the litter day.

44:30

Well, the sixty two got retired on a few

44:32

occasions during the raids way, but

44:36

you know that's the kind of way it is. All

44:38

right, we'll be back next week. We'll break down the All

44:40

Star Race and talk about the COPE six hundred
