This is Gone Racing, Fison's

0:03

premiere NASCAR betting podcast. Here

0:05

are your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

0:07

Gone and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

0:09

Jeff Motley.

0:12

The green flag is waving. Welcome

0:14

back everybody, why it is having way too much fun

0:16

with the green flag. Welcome in Gone Racing.

0:19

Of course, Brendan Gaughne hanging out in studio

0:21

this week where of course, last week I was not in studio.

0:23

I wasn't even here.

0:24

And then mister Motley, this week you are at

0:26

It seems like you your second home nowadays,

0:29

out at Wine Country having a little

0:31

wine and cheese with your NASCAR.

0:33

Yeah, it's that I haven't had any wine and cheese. It's

0:35

a lot of work to be done out here. It's like you and

0:37

I don't like to see each other.

0:39

I'm in there.

0:39

Last week you're gone. You're in there, I'm gone.

0:42

And Nashville Race, I'm gone. You'll break,

0:44

You'll be in there, I guess.

0:45

So Hey, listen, we were professionally

0:47

unprofessional. We get it done. We show up when we can. Last

0:49

week I was down in Mexico Racing. Race

0:52

sucked, but I had Rylan with me and had a great time

0:54

with my son. Wyatt saw some pictures today,

0:57

so it was worth it for me, even

0:59

though the race went back to have my ten year old at his

1:01

first time in the Baja five hundred with me, even had

1:03

him in the race car Motley driving up the race track at the

1:05

end of the day because it was a bad day so

1:07

let him. Let him ride home with me as we were doing

1:09

the limp of shame home. But we we

1:11

don't talk about my race, and we're talking about last week

1:13

we had gateway. I'll tell you what. All

1:15

right, long race, coke six hundred part due but

1:18

lightning strikes all those things. Amazing

1:20

race though, good racetrack for it had a

1:22

few problems, but Kyle Busch, the RCR

1:25

cars, both ourcr cars were running great. Austin

1:28

versus Austin, you know, became an issue. But great

1:31

race, a ton of fun to watch.

1:33

I mean it, you know, watching

1:35

that shifting and the double shifting and all the guys with these

1:37

sequentials. It was an enjoyable

1:39

race. You know, maybe

1:41

a little issue with the brake package, but I

1:43

think that was driver inflicted or I mean team

1:46

inflicted, if you want the truth.

1:47

With with the brake ducks being taped up.

1:49

Well, you got thirty six cars in the race,

1:51

yet four of them have problem with the brake, So thirty

1:54

two guys didn't have any break problems at all. So I don't

1:56

really know if that was a big deal. You know, it's two years in

1:58

a row we've raced out there at Gateway.

2:00

Two years in a.

2:00

Row, we have had exciting races. You're

2:02

right, you know, you had the lightning delay and then you had

2:05

a wall repaired delay. So it did kind of turn

2:07

into the twenty four Hours of Saint Louis.

2:09

But Kyle Busch three wins

2:11

equals William Byron for most wins on the

2:13

circuit this year. And you know, we kind of were

2:15

saying it was the William Kyle

2:17

Show, but it's a Willie, Kyle and Kyle

2:19

show.

2:19

I think now, well, and we've talked about

2:22

the start of the season, how many wins would

2:24

Kyle Busch get. Kyle Busch

2:26

is is he what did Reddick

2:28

have last year? I think he had three all of last year

2:30

Reddick did, and so he's already

2:32

matched what Reddick did. Reddicks were on road courses, of

2:34

course, that was his main you know, couple wins. But

2:38

Kyle Busch, Richard Trump,

2:40

you know what, I heard a funny stat on Larry

2:42

mcrenold's talked about it. Do you know what

2:44

the anniversary of the Saint Louis the Gateway

2:46

win? Do you know what it was? The to

2:48

the day what that was the same day of no

2:51

I don't know that was the to the day

2:53

the anniversary of hold my watch,

2:57

no Way square to goodness that Arry

3:00

mcgrenold said it was to the day of

3:02

the hold my watch incident. For those regular

3:04

NASCAR fans, you understand what we're talking about. But

3:06

how about Richard Childress. But you know, even

3:08

Austin Dylon, you know, having the guts to a

3:11

lot of times, look a guy like

3:13

in Austin he, you know, does he really want

3:15

to have a guy like Kyle Busch there who could

3:17

possibly make him, you know, overshadow

3:19

him a little bit and and and make people kind

3:21

of kind of you know, nip in the ear.

3:24

I think it's a brilliant move. Great job Kyle

3:26

Busch. He's got to be loving what

3:28

he's doing. After the season he had last year. He is

3:31

fantastic right now.

3:32

Well, you're right, and you know I'd got it somebody's

3:36

ringing. Wow, how about that. Brendan forgot

3:38

to turn his ringer off the day. It's not

3:40

even Brendan ringing. Nobody knows who's

3:42

ringing. It's not me ringing anyway.

3:44

Ring That was my This is my son's

3:46

computer. This

3:49

is my son's computer, and find.

3:51

My professionally professional.

3:53

Oh my god, that's so funny. I'm like, what is going

3:55

on. I look at the screen it says find my computer alert

3:58

and and it's gone.

4:00

The dinosaur just tell us

4:02

the screen.

4:02

That's funny.

4:03

Did you not tell me you're taking his computer?

4:05

Apparently I did not, So in the break, I'm gonna have to call

4:08

my son in Texas and say, hey, I have your computer.

4:10

That's really funny. We're all looking at each other, going,

4:12

what's that. Oh yeah, it's on my screen? Wow?

4:15

This our show, only our show, Motley.

4:18

We have you said it? You said it earlier professionally

4:21

unprofessional.

4:22

Well that's great, we have more fact those people

4:24

all right, back to what you're saying. You know, I thought about

4:26

bring it seth it, and I know you and and Austin

4:28

Dillon our buddies.

4:29

He's got like a little brother to you.

4:30

But You're right, you have to

4:33

wonder with the success that Kyle Busch

4:35

is having immediately over there, Uh,

4:38

that's gotta be a little bit tough for Austin. I mean,

4:40

he also is invested in that team. I

4:42

mean, he's going to be the owner of that

4:44

team one day. I think we're all pretty certain of

4:46

that. So I can understand why he's

4:48

happy for the success, but his own personal

4:51

shortcomings compared to Kyle Busch, it's got to be

4:53

a little tough.

4:54

No.

4:55

But see, that's what I think I got to applaud here

4:57

is that I mean that it was a tough decision

4:59

and right now, Kyle Busch coming over best

5:01

business decision he could make, and Austin

5:03

is a part of that decision, and it look at how well

5:05

it's paying off, and for him, it's

5:07

just going to make him have to get better, and he will and

5:09

Austin will step up. But Kyle, We've

5:12

said this about Brett Keselowski in the last year,

5:14

We've said this about Kurt Busch going over to

5:16

twenty three eleven. You know, guys like

5:18

that elevate a race team. And

5:21

I think Austin did it for a reason. And Austin's

5:23

performance. Okay, he has not had

5:25

the finishes, but he has run much

5:27

better and he will

5:29

be better in the end because of this. So I'm

5:32

excited. I really need to see, of course, you and

5:34

me the Vegas boy, Kyle Busch having the Buschess win. Let's

5:36

talk about it. What he paid to win though. Kyle

5:38

Busch was a double digit if you can believe

5:41

that double digit to win

5:43

the race eleven to one.

5:44

He was top three was three twenty.

5:46

You want to talk about great odds for Kyle Busch that you

5:48

don't normally get, those are two great numbers.

5:51

He was the dog in Group C at two eighty five.

5:53

In Group C by the way, I mean Kyle Busch

5:56

and Group C that should have been all

5:58

of us should have looked at that and went wow. Kyle Busch and

6:00

then the Chevy of course plus one ten Chevy's

6:03

are absolutely the class

6:05

of the field. Little piece of

6:07

news, you know there was a tire

6:09

changer that was hurt when they

6:12

car slid in.

6:13

He is back home already.

6:14

Just want everybody to know, Joe Gibbs

6:16

Racing crew teams, who was it, Thomas

6:18

Hatcher, Well, Tommy.

6:20

Eric Jones, I mean it was a rough

6:22

week for the Legacy Motorcres.

6:23

Yes, and then they're big fighting at Legacy Motor Club.

6:26

Listen, the Legacy Motor Club is just trying to do whatever they

6:28

can to finish this season out. And

6:31

you know they're lame duck Chevrolet team.

6:33

I think it was poor timing on their part to announce

6:35

it this early, but whatever, and

6:37

it's there.

6:38

And also glad our buddy Noah Gregson's

6:40

okay because if you saw his hit, yeah,

6:42

it was good.

6:43

Probably as hard to hit as as we've

6:45

seen all year long.

6:46

I think people could say the same thing about me and Noa that we used

6:48

to say, we don't have enough up there to hurt. So that's why

6:50

those wall shots don't affect us quite as bad as

6:52

anybody else. Let's talk about

6:55

the top ten. Of course, we had Kyle Busch

6:57

eleven to one, three twenty. We got Denny

6:59

Hammon was a plus three hundred. I mean, once again

7:01

a great return on a Denny Hamlin top three

7:03

bet, Joey Thegano plus three twenty the Cream

7:06

rose to the top, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex,

7:08

Ryan Blaney, and then Daniel Suarez, which

7:10

with a much needed good run

7:13

and then Michael McDowell ninth place right

7:15

there. A great run for McDowell, great

7:17

strategy move at the end of the race. But all

7:19

plus three hundred guys for top threes, you

7:22

know, I mean, that's that's a good return.

7:24

Yeah, you're right. I mean seeing some of those numbers

7:26

there.

7:26

And you know, the last two or three weeks, Suarez

7:28

has kind of been out running his teammate Chastain,

7:31

which has been a little surprising to me. It'll

7:33

be very interesting to see this

7:35

weekend with Suarez coming back to the side

7:37

of his only career win too.

7:39

Nope, that's gonna be a big one. And

7:41

and you know, we'll we'll justin Mark say,

7:44

Okay, go back at it. Ross, Chastain,

7:46

you haven't been running well since we kind of put the handcuffs

7:49

on you. Maybe he lets him back go again and deals

7:51

with the pressure from that side. And I mean that could

7:53

that have something to do with it?

7:54

Jeff, Well, it certainly could.

7:56

I mean it's possible.

7:57

I mean, I gotta believe at some point so

8:00

of that starts weighing on Ross a little bit. You

8:02

know, Ross had a poor run at Gateway. He

8:04

was the he was leading the overall

8:06

points standings going into Gateway. I think

8:08

he came out of it in like sixth or something and

8:10

he lost that many.

8:11

Fifth bots, So fifth, I think is what I

8:14

counted. And let's let's talk about that. Here's the season standings

8:16

real quick. Now we have William Byron with three wins

8:18

and Kyle Busch with three wins. They both lead

8:20

the playoff standings. You got, but you

8:22

know, Larson in there, Blaney, the guy we've been joking

8:24

about all season, you know, gets the koke six

8:27

hundred win. But there he is with his win, getting

8:29

himself kind of locked in. How about Ricky Stenhouse

8:31

Junior still holding strong, you know, I mean

8:33

even with that bad race he had that week, the

8:36

with you know, the Daytona win doesn't hurt him, but

8:38

that's a he's still holding strong in there. And

8:40

then of course the cutoff line. Man,

8:43

is this getting to be a crowded group and it's

8:45

going to keep getting more and more crowded because

8:47

you got to figure that Chase Elliot's probably gonna win

8:49

at some point and knock one of these deep guys

8:51

down. You gotta figure that that. You

8:53

know, Austin Dillon probably has a good shot to win. A

8:55

couple of these guys. McDowell still holding

8:57

tough, great names, Ty Gibbs and his rookie

9:00

season right near that cut line. A lot of

9:02

great names there. Alex Bowman's still on the outside

9:04

looking in. So this cut

9:06

line we're going to start focusing on more and more and more

9:08

as we roll down this regular season.

9:10

Well, and I think you're right about the Chase

9:12

Elliott thing kind of is the big outlier there.

9:15

I mean, if Chase Ellie gets a win, then

9:17

clearly this whole thing really gets jumbled because

9:19

if you look at it, it's a little bit of a drop

9:21

off between fifteen and sixteen between Bubba

9:23

Wallace and Daniel Suarez. So if we do

9:25

get a Chase Elliot or Austin Dillon or someone that's

9:28

outside that top sixteen gets a

9:30

win, there's a.

9:31

Lot of guys that are going to start getting nervous.

9:32

Yep, let's talk about what we got coming up. We got,

9:35

of course, this weekend, mister Motley, you are at Sonoma

9:37

for the Toyota Save Mark three to fifty. Have fun

9:39

at the Hall of Fame banquet tonight. By the way, two of our buddies

9:41

Harvick and Kurt Busch getting inducted,

9:46

and Matt Crafton and Maddy c that's right,

9:48

Matty Crafton in there. A couple others, but those

9:50

are the three that you know. Of course, West Coast guys that

9:52

we'd love, old friends of mine,

9:54

so got to give a shout out to them. Ally

9:56

four hundred and National Tennessee Grant

9:58

Park two twenty the first ever street

10:00

course or maybe not first ever, first I know of street

10:03

course race in Chicago.

10:04

Going to be kind of a lot of fun.

10:06

Then we head out to back to the Restrictor Plate

10:08

Race, the super Speedway Race of the Land

10:10

of the Quake State four hundred and then the Crayon

10:12

three to Oho one. I've wanted Crayola

10:15

to be part of our sport for twenty

10:17

years and they finally are coming

10:19

in as a race sponsor.

10:20

I'm really excited about that.

10:21

And I have to break your heart, Brendan and tell

10:24

you that has nothing to do with Crayola.

10:27

That is a business to business venture. It

10:29

is uh no, I'm sorry.

10:31

There will be no there will be no color

10:33

coded drawing on the start finish line.

10:36

Or what, dude, Creola could

10:38

have the greatest marketing campaign ever race.

10:40

So you're gonna have to tell your kid that too while

10:42

you call him to get your computer fixed.

10:43

So is it the Crayon three oh one?

10:46

It's a it's a B to B company that they've

10:49

done a sponsorship.

10:49

Oh so it's not Crayola Crayon, it's just un the company

10:52

named Crayon. Yes, that's a horrible

10:54

name. Then if you're not Crayons, then you're what

10:56

But.

10:56

Never mind, this is this is ruined Brendan's

10:59

day.

10:59

Yeah, no, I'm I'm junk now. I was all excited

11:01

about it finally being Crayola Crayons, and he

11:04

would know, he's SMI that's a loud and so boo

11:07

on Crayola.

11:09

We're even doing a Crayon business

11:11

breakfast here this weekend with

11:13

Crayola.

11:15

No, there's no coloring books being passed out.

11:19

All right, Snow a race way, of course, our first road

11:21

course, not our first of the season, but are a

11:23

road course back on the road racing deal. Twelve turns,

11:26

no stage breaks anymore. Remember no stage rakes.

11:28

They run straight through. Daniel

11:30

Swayne get stage points, but

11:32

no breaks. So when we come back we'll

11:35

get into who's been hot not around this track

11:37

and get into the aus to start winning.

11:39

Let's get to the business part of the show.

12:02

This is Gone Racing, Fison's

12:04

premier NASCAR betting podcast. Here

12:06

your host's former NASCAR driver Brendan

12:09

Gonne and Las Vegas Motor Speedways,

12:11

Jeff Motley.

12:13

And once again the green flags back in

12:15

the air professionally and professional gun

12:17

racing. Jeff Motley in Sonoma, Brennan Gone

12:19

here in studio and mister Motley.

12:21

We were talking during the break this We're going

12:24

to get some stats here, some Sonoma Raceway track

12:26

records, and there are some good ones here. But this

12:28

is going to be Kevin Harvick's last race in

12:30

his home state.

12:32

Yeah, it is, and I think that's gonna be kind of a big deal

12:34

for him. You know, He's talked about it a little bit, this

12:36

being his final year moving into the

12:38

Fox Booth, and I think there's some

12:41

special meaning going into this race. And this was

12:43

always kind of in his mind a little bit

12:45

of his home.

12:46

Absolutely.

12:47

Yeah, he felt much more of a connection to Sonoma

12:49

than he did Fontana. I guess maybe because

12:51

Fontana also opened up after he'd really

12:53

kind of started his career where Sonoma. You

12:55

know, been racing here the Cup Series since the nineteen

12:58

eighties. So pretty big week coming

13:00

up for Kevin. Gonna be a little surprised

13:02

for him from the State Assembly

13:04

on Sunday during pre race. And

13:07

and also we're gonna be inducting him

13:09

into the Wall of Fame here at Sonoma Raceway

13:11

as well.

13:14

That's awesome.

13:14

This is this is the best show this week.

13:17

And I am clueless to what you guys are laughing

13:19

about.

13:20

Somebody walked in behind you.

13:22

They left the door behind me despite

13:24

me telling them do not. They're

13:28

changing.

13:29

I think they wanted the cooler in the room.

13:31

I think he looked at us like, oh God, I'm in trouble.

13:33

So I'm gonna act like I'm going.

13:35

Oh yeah, they're supposed to be guarding the

13:37

door for me, but clearly I guess

13:39

I'm gonna be Abe Lincoln before this.

13:41

Show is listen professionally unprofessional,

13:43

right, just just listen. We

13:46

have the best. I don't care if you're Denny Hammond. I don't

13:48

care Dale Junior. We we have more fun.

13:49

I promise.

13:50

I'm firing the secret service that's supposed

13:52

to protect me back there.

13:54

They might be letting it happen.

13:56

Let's talk about the guys that have done well up here though, and

13:58

and we mentioned Kevin Harvick. He's twenty one

14:00

races in Cup at this racetrack, eleven

14:03

top tens, so fifty top

14:06

ten, got a great record. There are seven

14:08

top fives. But there's some names here. Kyle

14:11

Busch two wins and eight top tens,

14:13

a lot of guys you know good and then some

14:16

guys Denny Hamlin seven top tens,

14:18

no wins at this track, Michael

14:20

McDowell only the one top five. And

14:23

we talked about Michael being such a great road racer,

14:25

so we kind of, you know, don't expect

14:27

that. But Chase Elliott not the race track

14:29

he's remember he dominated the road courses a

14:31

couple of years ago. He's got four top

14:34

tens and six races, but no wins at

14:36

this track.

14:37

You're right, he doesn't have any wins here. But

14:39

I also on the Chase Elliot front here,

14:41

I believe he needs a really

14:43

good run at Sonoma to really

14:45

feel like he's got any chance of making the playoffs.

14:47

I'm not saying he has to win, but I think

14:49

we got to.

14:50

Look at Chase Elliott right now and say he's got four

14:52

road courses left in this regular

14:54

season. He's got Sonoma, he's got a street race

14:56

in Chicago, he's got Indianapolis, he's got

14:58

Watkins Glenn.

15:00

He's been so good on road courses over the years.

15:02

I think he's got to prove that at least he's he's

15:04

running well there because quite frankly, since

15:07

he came back, he really hasn't been that strong.

15:09

He even admitted this week during an

15:11

interview with the media talking about the suspension

15:14

last week, that this has just been a weird season.

15:16

He hasn't really felt like he's been in a

15:18

groove at any point this season.

15:20

I'm telling you time starting to run out well.

15:23

And look, this is not

15:25

the one he's won on. But you got to figure that he's

15:27

been looking at the road courses when he

15:29

came back, because you're right, he is

15:31

not. He's in a position that do

15:34

you think he can make up points and point his way

15:36

in or do you think he has to win to get in? As

15:38

the question, you know, I'm looking at the points he's

15:40

got. Where is Chase Eli He's two hundred and fifteen

15:43

points, He's one hundred points behind the

15:45

cut line.

15:45

I don't think he can do that in ten races.

15:47

Well, not only is one hundred points behind the cut line,

15:50

but you're counting on that cut line not movie.

15:52

Yeah, and that's the other thing.

15:53

We get a couple of winners, that cut line is

15:56

going to move the way farther away. Yes, it's like the goldpost

15:58

is getting farther away from him. So now I

16:00

think he has to win. I think in his mind

16:02

he realizes he has to win, and

16:04

I think it really needs.

16:05

To start with at least a good run at Sonoma.

16:07

Again, I'm not saying he has to win, but if he comes

16:09

out and runs between tenth and fifteenth, or even between

16:11

eighth and twelfth, I don't think that's going to

16:14

cut it. And I think that's going to put some doubt in the mind

16:16

of that whole race team.

16:17

Well, let's get to the odds to win this race and to

16:19

kick off the leader

16:21

in the clubhouse. How about that? Now I do

16:24

doubt this one, But Tyler Reddick is your

16:26

odds, your favorite on the odds at plus four fifty.

16:29

Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott are both five

16:31

hundreds. William Byron eight fifty, Ross Chasta

16:33

and Kyle Busch nine hundreds. Then a massive

16:35

drop, and I mean massive drop,

16:38

sixteen to one. Daniel Suarez,

16:40

last year's winner, AJ Allmendinger, the perennial

16:42

one of our favorites on a road courses,

16:45

sixteen to one, both of them, Austin Cindric

16:47

eighteen, Chris Buscher twenty, Kevin

16:49

Harvick, Christopher Bell twenty five, Alex Bowman

16:51

twenty eight, Martin Truex Junior thirty, Ryan

16:54

Blaney and Joey Logano thirty five.

16:56

Jeff, there are some amazing numbers here on

16:58

amazing road racers Like this has

17:00

me perplexed a little bit. The

17:03

numbers on a couple of these road racers that

17:06

are so high.

17:07

Well, I think number one. With Suarez being

17:09

the defending champion, I don't think he's getting a lot of respect.

17:12

But I'm going to tell you something about Aj Allmendinger.

17:15

I think that for

17:17

so many years, every time AJ ran

17:19

a road race, AJ was like the guy to beat

17:21

out there.

17:22

But we've put so many road course

17:24

races on the schedule.

17:26

Now that all of these world

17:28

class drivers have got so many

17:30

races and so many laps on

17:32

these road courses, I think AJ was

17:35

as good as AJ was going to get. And I think these

17:37

other guys have caught up to AJ. I

17:39

don't think he's lost it. I just

17:41

think these guys have caught.

17:42

Up to him. Well.

17:43

And the other thing is that I've said this, and you know you hate

17:45

I know you and Marcus Smith really

17:47

dislike it when I say this, But this is the most nascarized

17:51

track of the road course circuit

17:54

and that does not plan into AJ's favor, you

17:56

know, AJ does. It's better when

17:58

he's at the the

18:00

Coda. He's better when he's at Road America. He's

18:02

better when he's at these rose courses that are much

18:04

more technically demanding. So this is not

18:07

one is And I'm looking his dats, Jeff. He's got

18:09

seven starts here, only one top ten. So

18:11

this is not the track for AJA, even though it's sixteen

18:14

to one. But how about Martin Truex Junior thirty

18:16

to one, I mean Ryan Blaney thirty

18:18

five to one, you know, Chris

18:20

Buscher finn Ah second, twenty to one. I mean

18:22

there's some and like you said, the winner sixteen

18:24

to one, last year's winner.

18:27

Yeah, And ye know it's funny though around here before

18:29

these odds ever came out. Somebody

18:31

asked me on Monday, who's your guy you think's gonna

18:33

win? I said, Tyler Reddick. A lot

18:35

of people around here, Tyler Reddick, Tyler Redick.

18:38

And here he comes in. He's the favorite plus four to fifty.

18:40

I think Tyler Redick also knows this is a great

18:42

opportunity when it comes to the playoffs

18:44

too.

18:45

Yeah, he can gain some playoff points here. Let's

18:47

get to the second page here and we start

18:49

off with Denny hamlin Is forty to one,

18:51

with Brad Kiselowski forty, Michael McDowell

18:53

forty five, Chase brisco fifty, Ty

18:56

Gibbs fifty five. Long shots now

18:58

one hundred to one, Kate Justin Haley, Eric

19:00

Jones, Bubba Wallace. I

19:03

mean, well, Ryan

19:05

Prieste two fifty, Austin Dylan two fifty. It's

19:07

a lot of names that I don't think I expect us to see

19:10

surprising us that far in this world.

19:13

But stranger things have happened.

19:14

But I look at this and I go, is this a place that Chase

19:16

Briscoe can kind of fix

19:18

this season a little bit?

19:19

Can?

19:20

Can you know? Stuart Haws, is this the

19:22

track that he does that Chase as a hell of a road racer.

19:24

You know, Is this where maybe Chase Briscoe can can

19:27

help that team out where they've been struggling

19:29

so bad.

19:29

Jeff, Well, you know, he did win the ARCA

19:32

race here in Sonoma last year, so

19:34

that had to give him a little bit of confidence. You

19:36

know, that race team, Like you said, though, it has just

19:38

struggled so mightily. I mean you

19:41

Harvick's obviously been the best car in the group.

19:43

Heck, Ryan Priese has probably been the next best

19:45

car. He just hasn't always had the finishes.

19:48

This year for Briscoe has been somewhat of a nightmare.

19:50

So this would be kind of like a walk off.

19:52

Home run for Briscoe if he could pull it off. But

19:54

I just I just don't see it.

19:56

I think he's a very capable driver, but I'm

19:58

just not so sure the equip and under him. And you

20:01

mentioned the fact Sonoma Raceway is a high

20:03

speed road course. It's not a sharp turn

20:06

road course, with the exception of turn eleven. I

20:08

just don't think this plays very well into Brisco's

20:10

hands.

20:11

I like how he changed changed that to

20:13

a positive of what I was saying.

20:16

It's a high speed road course.

20:18

A high speed road course, that's what it is.

20:20

You don't agree it is high speed.

20:22

It is very high speed.

20:23

That is right well, and Watkins Glenn

20:25

used to be pretty high speed until they put the bus stop

20:27

in down the back straight.

20:28

Away and it's it's still Nascar

20:31

is just as as well.

20:33

They could put that, they could put the boot, but.

20:35

They need to. And you guys took the carousel back out. I'm

20:37

still mad at you for that.

20:38

Okay, guess what.

20:39

The fans can't even see the carousel. Nobody

20:42

ever passed in the carousel. And the most

20:44

exciting part of the track is turn eleven, and

20:46

with the carousel out, we get more trips

20:48

through turn eleven.

20:50

Guess what, Brendan, you're not a paying

20:52

race van was the least than.

20:56

Buy tickets at Las Vegas Motor speed Let's

21:00

go to the top threes.

21:01

Now say I'm gonna start forwarding

21:03

all of my text from you.

21:06

Let's go to the top threes before I burn my bridge

21:08

at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and I start

21:10

buying tickets Ticketmaster

21:12

right here. Tyler Redick is the top

21:14

three favorite. Of course, he was to win the race. He's won

21:16

thirty, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott one forties.

21:19

Now this ain't bad numbers for top three. William

21:21

Byron two to fifty, Ross jast Dain, Kyle

21:23

Busch two seventy five, Daniel

21:26

Swarez four p fifty with the dinger there with him,

21:28

Austin Cindric five, Chris Buscher five fifty,

21:31

Kevin Harvick six, Christopher Bell

21:33

seven hundred, Alex Bowman eight hundred, Martin Trux Junior

21:35

eight fifty Blaney and Joey Logano

21:37

nine hundreds Jeff for a top three, I

21:40

like, like, I like half

21:42

this page for a top three. I mean, this is this

21:44

is some great numbers here, Ryan

21:46

Blaney, Martin Truex, both of them

21:49

huge. Daniel Swarez your winner, Kyle

21:51

Busch. I can't pick one right now.

21:53

I'm with you because I look at those guys at

21:55

the top.

21:56

Okay, one or two of them maybe, but somebody

21:59

else is gonna come in there and get a top three that's

22:01

plus four fifty or better. I think I

22:03

just think you're right. This is a good opportunity to

22:05

take some runs on some top threes.

22:07

And on the second page, Denny Hamlin lead and

22:09

Brad Keselowski, Michael McDowell all ten, Chase

22:11

Brisco eleven, Ty Gibbs fourteen, Hayley

22:14

Jones, Bubba Wallace twenty two, the other sixty

22:16

plus one Ty Gibbs, hell

22:18

of a road racerrinks findy. What do you think doing

22:22

well?

22:23

I mean he's not running bad.

22:25

No, it's gonna be a little different experience here

22:27

in that big that new new

22:29

car though, and I'm not so sure.

22:31

I'm kind of there.

22:33

I love.

22:35

I like it.

22:36

I like a lot of numbers on that first page.

22:38

All right, we come back. We'll get to our head to heads. Yellow

22:40

flag is out, why it's waving it, and we'll be

22:42

back to the head heads.

23:58

Racing, whom I'm

24:01

disappointed in, as Wyatt, because when

24:03

you started screwing up forgetting to read the promo,

24:06

he didn't throw the black flag.

24:08

You should have thrown the black flag.

24:09

He was waving the flag and I started and I looked up and

24:11

he's looking at me with just this look of dejection, like you

24:14

suck.

24:14

I'm like, oh, you know, but I

24:16

will say, these flags are amazing.

24:18

I'm having so much fun with this, Like this

24:21

is the best thing that we've got here Visin all

24:23

right.

24:23

I like it.

24:24

We got we got the help, we got the coolest helmet at least

24:26

on Yeah for sure.

24:27

Yes, yes, it's not like a football. We got a cool

24:29

home.

24:29

Yeah.

24:29

You don't get to see it this week because when we're both not

24:31

in the studio.

24:32

They don't ever show there.

24:33

It's not too shot there. It is hope.

24:36

We got big fellow aside. Yeah,

24:38

there's a big fellow and there's Grandpa.

24:40

So I recognize that man.

24:41

I recognize I've seen him once or twice.

24:43

But anyway, let's get let's get back to what

24:46

we do and let's try to cash them tickets here, and we

24:48

have the head to heads and this year, the head to heads have been been

24:50

killing it for me. I've been really doing

24:52

well this year picking these head to head battle. I mean, come on,

24:54

it's fifty to fifty, right man versus

24:56

man? Uh, And we have some amazing returns

24:59

right here with dry that are amazing

25:01

drivers. Let's kick off right off

25:03

the bat. I mean, Kyle

25:05

Larson plus one twenty. Kyle

25:07

Larson is is a hell

25:09

of a road racer, and Kyle Larson

25:11

is plus one twenty versus I get a Chase Elliott.

25:14

But we've just said Chase Elliott not having the season

25:16

that he likes, so that that's a big one.

25:18

Ross Chastain won forty.

25:20

I mean there is some there is some amazing,

25:23

amazing numbers here, Jeff.

25:26

I'm blown away by some of these and I

25:28

don't know where the infatuation

25:31

is with Chase Elliott right now.

25:32

I mean, what have you done for me lately?

25:34

These all these guys, I mean, Larson's

25:36

won twenty, Kyle Busch is one thirty, Ross

25:38

Chastain is one forty against

25:41

Chase Elliott.

25:42

Come on now, I.

25:43

Mean, look, do the don't line. You can make some money.

25:45

And you know I don't ever say the don't line. I want to

25:47

go all the way. But Chase Elliott is

25:50

absolutely some huge returns to bet

25:52

against him.

25:53

Have about Christopher Bell plus one ten.

25:54

I get that Chris Buscher had that second place

25:56

run here, but Seabell has been, you know, a

25:58

strong road racer. Two remember he won the inaugural

26:01

Daytona Road Course a couple of years ago. I

26:03

mean, there's a j Alemondier's a plus one

26:05

oh five. You know, I just gave you the number of stats on him

26:08

for Sonoma. Big numbers here in the head

26:10

to heads.

26:11

Oh no, it's unbelievable. And I just I

26:13

don't know. I think it's pretty exciting this week. And I

26:15

don't bet a lot of head to heads, but I may definitely

26:17

be on the head to heads this week.

26:19

I might have to cancel a couple of these top threes and jump

26:21

a few more in the head to heads. Now, let's get into

26:23

our favorite part of the show, which is, of course the group

26:26

matchups. And Jeff, we were talking

26:28

off air, there is some awesome, awesome

26:30

group matchups here today, some big

26:32

numbers. Group A leads off with Chase

26:35

Elliot your favorite at two ten, Tyler Reddick two

26:37

twenty, Kyle Larson is

26:39

three hundred, and Ross Chastain

26:42

is four twenty. Wow,

26:44

you want to talk about enticement. Ross

26:47

Chastaine at four to twenty. Here's a guy

26:49

that won CODA. Here's a guy that's been you

26:51

know, last ten road races, four

26:53

wins, three top fives or four top

26:55

tens, three top fives and a win in the

26:57

last ten races on road courses.

26:59

This is that four hundred

27:01

and twenty plus four twenty.

27:03

It's crazy.

27:04

And Kyle Larson at three hundred, I

27:06

mean, wow, uh baby,

27:09

yeah, it's almost Let's let's go beat bet Kyle

27:11

Larson to rosses Stain and hope for the worst for Chase

27:14

Elliott and Tyler Reddick and Ross Chastain.

27:16

I mean he's got two seven place finishes here. It's not like

27:18

he's had you know, he's awful

27:20

here. He's had the last two races seventh and seventh.

27:22

So I mean that's a you want to talk about

27:25

enticement that is absolutely staring

27:27

at me in the face, going entice me, entice me.

27:29

I know, the only thing that's scares me about this is I really

27:31

think Tyler Reddick's gonna win the race, and that's the

27:33

only thing that's keeping me away from this group.

27:35

Then take Tyler Redick to win at four fifty, and take Ross

27:38

Chastain at four twenty, and you've got a massive,

27:40

massive, you know hedge that you

27:42

know you're just not rooting for talking for.

27:44

Yeah, then Chase Elliott and then you know what

27:46

happens to me. Reddick finishes second and Chestang

27:49

finishes third.

27:52

Okay, that's funny. Let's get

27:54

into Group B. Group B as Kyle Busch

27:56

two fifty five, William Byron two fifty five,

27:58

the Dinger two eighty, and Austin at three

28:00

hundred. This to me

28:02

is probably the toughest one to handicap Byron.

28:06

Not super high on Byron on the road

28:08

races. I think he's there because what he has

28:11

done for us lately, right, Byron has been pretty

28:13

amazing, but only one top ten

28:15

and four races at Sonoma, and

28:18

overall he's only got three top tens

28:20

and ten races on the road courses and last, so I

28:23

kind of can take him out, but the other three.

28:25

If you can take out Dinger from the stats I gave, then it's

28:27

a Cyndric and Bush battle.

28:28

And I like Kyle Busch.

28:30

I like Kyle Busch a lot right here.

28:31

And you know, if he was a favorite in this group, getting

28:34

one to eighty five, even two ten,

28:36

maybe not two fifty five, pretty

28:39

good number to be the favorite in a group where I

28:41

think he's a he should be a decided favorite.

28:43

Maybe William Byron, you know his.

28:45

Road course prowers, Maybe he starts

28:47

feeling it there like he's been racing well everywhere

28:49

else.

28:50

But really like me some Kyle Busch.

28:51

Here, Yeah, six top tens, last ten races

28:54

at Sonoma, not just road racing at Sonoma.

28:56

So I do like that when I do agree group

28:59

ce Daniel Suarez, last year's winner, your favorite

29:01

two o five, Chris Buscher two forty five, Blaney

29:03

three thirty five, and Bell three thirty

29:05

five, here's another one that has you

29:07

know, Suarez is your odds on favorite,

29:10

but Blaney and Bell both very very

29:12

accomplished road racers sitting there with big

29:15

numbers, is it enticement enough?

29:17

Well?

29:17

And last time I check, Chris Busher has been running pretty

29:20

well in red courses.

29:20

Last year.

29:21

He did a terrific job, had a great run

29:23

here in Sonoma last year. I think this

29:25

is a really really tough group to pick. I think

29:27

maybe seeing Christopher Bell sitting down

29:30

there along with Ryan Blaney with such big numbers

29:32

is very enticing. I know Suarez

29:35

won here last year, but I'm not really

29:37

looking at him going for two in a row. So I

29:39

kind of like those big numbers on Blanie and Bell.

29:42

Yeah, you're ready for this.

29:43

That Chris Buscher last ten road races, seven

29:45

top tens, average, finished nine point

29:47

four.

29:48

Finished well, and I think he ran really well at Sonoma

29:51

last.

29:51

Year in a second last year at secone. Yeah, So

29:53

I mean that's just looking at those numbers. That's

29:55

a This is a tough group for me

29:57

because you do have the winner, you got, Bouscher, you got,

30:00

and Bell.

30:00

I like everybody in this group.

30:02

This is the group that I got to stay away from because I kind

30:04

of like each one of them, and the three p thirties

30:06

aren't enticement enough because I do like all

30:09

the guys for certain reasons.

30:10

Well, and you know, and by the way, I think one thing we ought

30:12

to point out to people this is a very

30:14

very important track where people

30:17

should wait until after qualifying

30:19

before they put their bets in. We have to make our

30:21

picks today, but Sonoma is definitely

30:23

a track where qualifying is extremely

30:25

important.

30:26

Yes, and once again we tell

30:28

you guys that all the time.

30:29

We give you all these things part of the reasons why some

30:31

of our numbers are so bad in the Gone Racing League. Right,

30:33

we're sitting here making these bets on Thursday

30:36

morning when when it's super early

30:38

odds we get some of the books the Westgate. Thank you to them

30:40

for always putting odds up early for us to get

30:42

these done, you know. And so

30:45

it's it's difficult watch qualify and watch

30:47

the little practice see where these guys are. Because

30:49

I promise you if we had that knowledge and we did this show

30:51

Saturday afternoon after all that our picks

30:53

would probably be.

30:54

Different many many times.

30:56

Absolutely.

30:57

Let's get into group D and Group D you've

30:59

got Chase brisco your favorite co favorites,

31:01

actually three of them, Chase Briscoe, Joey Logano,

31:04

Alex Bowman all two seventy Brad

31:06

Kazlowski two seventy five. Really

31:09

tight group here and also stats

31:12

show really tight. I mean, Logano

31:15

pretty good road racer, been doing pretty well. Brad

31:17

Kiselowski has done very well on road

31:19

courses. Each one

31:21

of these guys is very hard to differentiate between

31:23

for me.

31:24

How funny is it that every single

31:26

week there's that one group where I just say,

31:29

not touching it, not going near. There always

31:31

is one yep, guess what it's Group D this

31:33

week for me?

31:34

Well, and see Group C for me is one that I would

31:36

say, Okay, I don't want to touch

31:38

because I like all the guys

31:40

for reasons, right like they all run well,

31:42

and you have some enticement with Blaney and Bell, you

31:44

got some good numbers. Okay, that's

31:47

not the one I wouldn't touch. It's just, you know,

31:49

it's a difficult one to handicap. This is one

31:51

that the odds are too tight. You're not getting

31:53

a whole gain anywhere, and each guy

31:55

I can I can barely separate. I mean,

31:57

I can really dive deep into stats

32:00

here and try to give you some numbers, but Jeff,

32:02

is it is the one. This is the one that's like, yeah,

32:05

just nothing's enticing me, nothing's making me

32:07

look at Group D and say ooh, I

32:09

like that.

32:10

Right, I'm with you one hundred percent.

32:13

Let's get into Group E then before we head

32:15

to break and Group E heads off with his

32:17

last race at in his home

32:19

state and technically his closest to home

32:22

track. Kevin Harvick is your favorite at two

32:24

forty. Michael McDowall is two

32:26

seventy five, Martin Trex Junior,

32:29

by the way, this is Group E, Martin

32:32

Trex Junior two eighty, and

32:34

Denny Hamlin too ninety five.

32:37

Jeff, Denny Hamlin's got five top tens

32:39

and the last ten races just here.

32:42

Just let me tell you, you're

32:44

gonna give me a plus two ninety five on a group

32:46

B on Denny Hamlin. I'm

32:48

not walking to the betting counter. I'm

32:50

sprinting to the bett encounter on this one. So

32:53

I am all in on Denny Hamler on this

32:55

on this screen.

32:56

I mean, look, Martin Truex Junior, you know we've

32:58

said what have you done for me lately, and so now I'm

33:00

a you know, not one of his better or what have you done for

33:02

me lately? He's road racing kind of faded. But Denny

33:04

Hamlin, I mean, goodness, gracious

33:06

to ninety five A dog with

33:09

Michael McDowell. No offense, Michael's great road

33:11

racer. Love Michael, don't don't don't, don't. Don't

33:13

think I'm knocking Michael. But ninety

33:15

five, I mean, come on, let.

33:16

Me tell you. I was upset that McDowell was in this scroup.

33:19

Yeah, I mean, McDowell is one of those guys on roadcast

33:21

we always kind of go, all right, where's he at? You

33:23

put him up against TRUEX and Denny Hamlin and Harvick,

33:25

You're like, dang it. But Denny Hamlin two

33:28

ninety five. That's a huge.

33:29

Crazy thing is we're gonna see Group E with

33:32

four great guys in it.

33:33

We're gonna go to Group B F.

33:34

But it's gonna be like we should pick whoever loses

33:36

out of the group. We'll

33:38

talk about that. I guess when we come back.

33:40

No, we got we got time, so well

33:42

we don't have time right now. But

33:44

but you're right, Group F well, no, I got a stat for Group

33:47

F. I got a stat for you.

33:49

Okay, is this your earl Ross McNugget.

33:51

No, it's not that big, it's not that big, just figgerish

33:53

stats.

33:53

All right, guys, we come back Group F and

33:56

our picks.

34:20

This is Gone Racing, Fison's

34:22

premiere NASCAR Betty podcast. You're

34:24

your hosts, former NASCAR driver Brendan

34:26

Gohn and Las Vegas Motor Speedways

34:28

Jeff Motley.

34:31

Welcome back and everybody. Final segment here on

34:33

Gone Racing. And we were wrapping

34:35

up our group matchups, and we just finished up with Group

34:37

E, which we had kind of what we kind of figure is a

34:39

lock right now, the whole Denny Hamlin at two ninety

34:41

five in Group E, not Group

34:44

A, not Group B, Group EH.

34:46

And then we're ending up with Group F and Group

34:48

F starts off with with my off

34:50

road buddy Zane Smith at plus two fifty,

34:53

Bubba Wallace at plus two to fifty, Austin

34:55

Dillon two ninety five, and Ryan Priest three fifteen.

34:58

And Jeff, I promised you a stat right here now.

35:01

Listen, you you've already said that, you know, Austin

35:04

is kind of my guy right, I've I will

35:06

admit i'm i'm I have media bias

35:09

or non media bias. But Austin

35:11

Dillon's average finished twenty point three in

35:14

the last ten road races. The

35:17

next closest is Bubba Wallace at twenty

35:19

six point three, and then

35:21

Ryan Priest is all the way down

35:23

at twenty eight point five. And

35:26

Zane Smith, of course, only has

35:28

in Cup Series competition

35:31

one data point, so it's hard

35:33

to or sorry he has no data points on road courses.

35:35

So i

35:38

Austin Dillon two ninety five, I'm

35:41

you.

35:41

Know, I'm with you. I like Austin Dillon

35:43

here.

35:44

First off, Bubba is very upfront

35:46

about how much he dislikes racing on read

35:48

courses. In fact, he got asked by a reporter

35:50

one time what his favorite turn at Sonoma Raceway

35:53

was. He said, the one I make leaving the racetrack.

35:55

Yeah, and Zane

35:57

had a great run a couple of weeks ago actually got

35:59

a top. I don't know that I see that

36:01

coming here at Sonoma. You know, Austin

36:03

Dillon, I think probably over the last five

36:06

to six road course races has

36:08

really improved his road racing ability.

36:11

So I like Austin Dillon here.

36:12

I'm with you, well, and that's where I was going. As we've

36:14

talked about it. He had like three races in a row

36:16

that he kept getting career best finishes on road courses.

36:19

So you know, this is this is definitely

36:21

the right trend for him, and this is I

36:23

think the right style of road course track for him.

36:26

So I think the d Austin that he's got

36:28

my Group F pick I agree,

36:30

all right, So we got Group F. We do have our

36:33

winning manufacturer prop this week. And

36:35

wow, do the odds makers believe very

36:38

heavily in the Chevrolet drivers

36:41

minus one sixty five on the

36:43

Chevy today, three hundred for

36:45

Toyota and three fifty for Ford Motley.

36:48

That three fifty for Toyota or three

36:50

hundred for Toyota. You've been a big fan of You

36:52

mentioned him a multiple times today, Tyler Reddick.

36:55

I don't. I mean I

36:58

like that three hundred.

37:00

I am that has jumped out at me

37:02

big time. I like that three hundred.

37:05

And you don't just.

37:05

Get Tyler Reddick, You're also getting Martin Trix Junior,

37:08

a three time winner here. Denny

37:11

Hamlin, Oh boy, and

37:13

you mentioned yourself, ty Gibbs.

37:15

Pretty good road course racer. Yeah,

37:17

I kind of like those Toyotas.

37:19

I mean, look, Chevy's are are the favorite for a reason.

37:21

We absolutely understand that. But

37:23

I do like that Toyota plus three hundred. That's

37:26

a that's a heck of a number right

37:28

there for just a three man horse

37:30

race.

37:30

I mean you're getting I'm with you, all

37:33

right, let's talk about last week.

37:34

Last week we had I would say mixed

37:37

bag of results guys, right, I mean we had

37:39

a couple. This is why it's Betton, this is why

37:42

it's called sports Betton.

37:43

Right.

37:43

We had some bets won and then and

37:45

then stuff at the end of the race changed things.

37:47

We all of us had some really close bad beats. Me and

37:49

the Pitt crew, Wyatt, we had TRUEX over Larson.

37:52

It was third and fourth. We're like, oh, come

37:54

on, missed it by one spot.

37:55

And the worst part was Larson was running mid

37:58

thirties at the first stage and.

38:00

All of a sudden, in the blink of an eye, look he's second up.

38:02

Now the Hendrick cars were stinking, and then all of a sudden

38:04

they come in and he beats us by one. You know, I

38:07

had Keselowski ro off the start Keselowski

38:09

has the bad day and I'm thinking, oh, it's done.

38:11

And at the end of the race he finishes one spot behind

38:13

Bowman to lose the group and I'm like, oh,

38:16

I was that close.

38:16

That meant it. That would have been the greatest.

38:18

Yeah.

38:19

Although Botley has the other argument, Bubba

38:21

Wallace was kicking our button that group until he

38:23

wrecked with four to go right.

38:26

You know, speaking of Larson Cliff Daniels,

38:28

the changes that guy can

38:30

make the car from the start to the end,

38:33

it reminds me of Rodney

38:35

Childers five years ago. You Rodney

38:37

used to be like that, and I don't know what's kind

38:39

of happened with that team, but Rodney was amazing

38:42

and now you see that with Cliff.

38:44

He's unbelievable.

38:45

Yeah, Harvick would be awful and Rodney throw the kids

38:47

and sink at it in the race and they'd come back and finished second.

38:50

It was like, what in the hell?

38:51

But we so, Jeff, you did get

38:53

Hamlin to group B, I got Bush

38:56

in group C, and Pitt Crew got

38:58

McDowell in group F. So we

39:00

all had you know, we always shown the negative

39:02

numbers, but we had a you know, one good solid

39:04

win to keep us close.

39:05

So at least they were all good wins for us on the

39:07

season.

39:08

And Brendan, you made the point earlier,

39:10

you said, getting Kyle Busch

39:13

in a group see at plus two eighty five.

39:14

How could anybody not pick that?

39:16

Well I did.

39:17

I'll give you credit for making the pick. You made

39:19

the pick. It was a good call on.

39:20

Your part, So I mean that was that was

39:22

too far down the list for me, and good returns on all

39:24

of us big numbers. So on the season though,

39:26

of course, still somebody's

39:29

still holding the lead strong. But a

39:31

battle for the mid pack between Jeff and the

39:33

pit crew.

39:34

Yeah, I suppose if either one of us had any pitker

39:37

I either one had any guts, would go from those forty

39:39

to one Denny Hamlin shots this weekend.

39:41

See what happened.

39:43

Well, don't worry. Come playoff time. That's when that's

39:45

when the big matter.

39:46

Okay, gotcha?

39:47

Got that? Yeah?

39:48

Sorry, I'm sorry. Why but we don't get

39:50

to reset the points like NASCAR.

39:52

I know, I wish regular season champion,

39:54

playoff champ. You never know?

39:56

All right?

39:57

Well, Whyatt? We start, of course worse to first,

39:59

so Wyatt lead the way please?

40:00

All right?

40:00

For the pick crew this week, we're gonna go with Daniel Swarez

40:03

to finish top three plus four to fifty. We just felt,

40:05

you know, Sores has been running really well as

40:07

of lately, and one here last year, why not

40:09

take a flyer on that.

40:11

I love these these big matchup

40:13

numbers.

40:13

Ross Chastain plus one forty over Chase Elliott.

40:16

That's a really juicy number that

40:18

you can't pass up. Tyler Reddick to

40:21

win Group A plus two twenty Austin

40:23

Sindric. I think he's gonna you know, they

40:25

got to win to get in the chase,

40:28

So I'm gonna go with him in Group B. I think he's gonna

40:30

be really aggressive plus three hundred and Martin

40:32

Truck Junior to win Group E at plus two eighty.

40:35

All right, I like a couple of those. I like a

40:37

couple of those, Mister Motley, what say you today,

40:39

sir?

40:40

Okay, I'm gonna take two picks

40:42

in the head to heads, and they are both

40:44

going right against Chase Elliott. I'm gonna

40:47

go with Kyle Larson at plus one twenty against

40:49

Chase Elliott. I'm also going to agree with the

40:51

pit crew and go Ross Chas Stain at

40:53

plus one forty against Chase Elliott.

40:55

Only two group picks for me this week.

40:57

I'm gonna go into Group B. I'm gonna

41:00

I disagree with the pit crew here. I'm

41:02

gonna go with Kyle Busch and Group B. Then

41:04

I'm going into Group E again against

41:06

the pit crew. I'm going Denny Hamlin. You

41:09

and I really talked a lot about Denny.

41:10

Love that.

41:11

And now I'm not gonna leave plus three hundred

41:13

for Toyota dangling out there, knowing that

41:16

I got Reddick Truex, Hamlin,

41:18

Bell, all those guys, those

41:21

are mine.

41:21

The dangling participle. He can't leave that dangling

41:24

nobody remember what? Can anybody give the definition

41:26

of the dangling participle anymore since we left grade school?

41:30

I really can't. Is it like a hanging Chad? I

41:32

don't know.

41:33

Is this your old Ross nugget for the day.

41:35

No, I'm actually I should have typed it in.

41:37

I have Michael's computer. I'm sure it might be something he'sn't

41:39

been learning.

41:40

We'll be getting tweets from English teachers,

41:42

any of them.

41:43

Dangling participle. I just remember that. I remember there was something

41:45

about it. I think you can't send a sentence

41:47

on the word butt and or something like that.

41:49

Isn't that what it is?

41:49

Probably?

41:50

Yeah? Okay, So my picks, I'm

41:53

you know what, I'm gonna go sentimental

41:55

heart and I'm going to start off. I cannot

41:58

leave Kevin Harvick's last race in his home date,

42:00

Kevin Harvick top three plus six hundred.

42:03

I just he's run too well there.

42:05

He's gonna have a lot of emotion, and Kevin is one

42:07

of those guys that normally is able to kind

42:10

kind of you know, when it's emotional

42:12

time. Kevin's always been good at that. So I'm

42:14

going Kevin Harvick. Then i am taking one of those

42:16

head to heads, but I'm not taking the two that you guys took against

42:18

Chase Elliott. I'm finishing off the other one. I'm taking

42:21

Kyle Busch at one thirty. So

42:23

that just too big of a head to head number with Kyle

42:25

Busch right now as well as he's running. And then

42:27

I'm going to stick with Kyle Busch in Group B. I'm

42:30

taking him at two fifty five. I think that

42:32

once again, I like who's running up against. And

42:35

then I'm finishing off in the two groups Jeff,

42:37

you and I Group E.

42:38

We're head to head.

42:39

We're head to head with the pit crew. I

42:41

love that two ninety five number on Denny Hamlin.

42:44

And then I'm jumping into

42:46

group F. And is not with

42:48

my heart, that is with my head. That is a head

42:50

pick, and that is Austin Dillon in

42:52

Group F. I think that he's run

42:55

well enough on road courses lately to not be Group

42:57

F worthy. And the guys he's it's not like Michael

42:59

McDowell against, in which we would normally see mcdowan

43:01

like a group F. So I like the groupies

43:04

against, and I'm picking him in a group of F.

43:06

And I'm going to tell you I had him circle in

43:09

Group F and

43:11

the toy other three hundred just changed me. So

43:14

I love your pick on Austin Dillon

43:16

in Group F. If this was a week that we had six

43:18

picks, that would be my sixth pick because

43:20

I really really do like Austin Dillon

43:22

and Group F.

43:23

And I'm sure he's going to win it since I scratched

43:25

him.

43:25

Out, And of course we don't have six picks.

43:28

That's why I'm in the lead and you guys are. I mean,

43:30

you know, if some butts for candy nuts. Oh what a merry Christmas

43:32

it would be.

43:34

Yep.

43:34

Remember old old Cleveland Brown's coach

43:37

named Sam Ratigliano. I got to know him well

43:39

when he coached at Liberty University when I was a sports

43:41

writer, and he loved, loved, love that

43:43

phrase.

43:44

He would always say, is.

43:44

If if and but if some butts for candy and nuts

43:47

every day, it'd be Christmas. And he used to say that

43:49

in like every press conference.

43:51

It's very true still to this day.

43:52

What we got about a minute left, mister Motley, you were hanging

43:54

out in so Noma this weekend. You have a

43:57

great time and hopefully have a great race,

43:59

and please have a glass of wine for me before you

44:01

leave there, because we all know that is what Sonoma

44:04

is famous for.

44:05

Well, I hope everybody will tune in.

44:06

It's the last race of the year for Fox, so

44:08

they in their run at Sonoma this week.

44:10

I love it up here. It's beautiful. We got

44:12

to let everybody know, no show next week because it's

44:14

an open date. Enjoy, Enjoy. Happy Father's

44:17

Day next week.

44:17

That's right, Happy Father's Day.

44:19

A little father's out there and I'm going to take

44:21

my ten year old Son who the race car driver,

44:23

Michael and us. We're going to go to North Carolin. I'm going to

44:25

North Carolina, if you believe that. I'm heading back to the

44:27
