Good
0:04
Risings. I'm Brian, and this is
0:06
grateful Grains. I
0:11
cannot believe tomorrow is already
0:13
New Year's Eve, the final day
0:15
of twenty twenty two. And today
0:17
is the final day of our week resolute
0:20
revisited. We got it started Monday
0:22
with a conversation on the power of the word
0:24
resolute. Tuesday, we talked
0:26
reflection. Wednesday, we got into
0:28
the execution by breaking our goal
0:30
down using the smart method. Yesterday,
0:33
we covered a few key practices that
0:35
help us stick to our resolutions. Today,
0:38
it's all about recommitting. Recommitting
0:41
perfection is a fool's errand. The
0:44
likelihood of success without mishaps
0:46
or setbacks is statistically unlikely.
0:49
What we have to be prepared for and what
0:52
we should find confidence in
0:54
is our ability to get back up again,
0:56
to dust off our knees, remind
0:58
ourselves why we chose this journey to begin
1:00
with, and continue up that mountain.
1:03
What's important to remember when it comes to
1:05
instances of weakness is that it's
1:07
not failure. Failure
1:10
is if our goal is never accomplished.
1:12
A setback is a setback, and that's
1:15
it. It's nothing more, it's nothing less.
1:17
Unless we give it the power
1:19
to influence our belief and our
1:21
ability to see our journey through.
1:24
As soon as we allow it to crack our foundation,
1:27
it can seep in and eat away at our
1:29
will power. And that's all about
1:31
perspective. We have to work
1:33
to remember that setbacks will
1:35
happen. Moments of weakness will
1:38
happen. That doesn't mean we welcome
1:40
them. But it does mean we prepare
1:42
ourselves to continue onward
1:44
once they do. Going and
1:46
believing we're going to get to the off of that
1:49
rocky mountain without tripping and
1:51
scuffing our knees. Well, it's just
1:53
not gonna happen that way. We'd
1:55
only be setting ourselves up for disappointment.
1:58
Without accepting the imperfection of
2:00
change, we'll be blindsided by
2:02
our shortcomings, and that will inevitably
2:04
leave us weakened by those instances when
2:07
our will power evades us. That's
2:09
when we begin to doubt our ability to succeed.
2:12
We begin to question our ability
2:14
to follow through. We can be
2:16
prepared for that feeling, that nagging
2:18
voice, that self doubt, We
2:20
shut it out by finding gratitude in
2:22
our success thus far and
2:24
our ability to choose what's best for
2:26
ourselves in the first place.
2:29
Remember, we haven't fallen back to square
2:31
one. Whatever period of time has
2:33
passed, whether two days, a week,
2:35
a month of success, Those days
2:37
don't disappear. Maybe when
2:40
we stand back up again, we set out to
2:42
beat our new personal best. Eventually,
2:44
those runs get longer. And no
2:46
one makes it to the top of the mountain unscathed.
2:49
It's whether or not they made it to the top of the
2:51
mountain at all. If we bow
2:53
to minor setback or allow moments of
2:55
weakness to define us will inevitably
2:57
believe we're incapable of success. Change
3:00
is a process. Renew
3:03
your motivation and recommit to
3:05
your pursuits each and every morning
3:07
and each and every night. We've
3:19
so enjoyed sharing this time with you on
3:21
grateful grades. Happy happy
3:23
New Year. We hope you find a way to celebrate.
