“Who I am today, is really based on everything that I've learned, that I've internalized, that I've experienced, based on somebody else's sacrifice.”

02:20

Rahkim grew up the child of two young parents. He learned about supreme confidence and persistence from an early age through the influence of his Grandfather.  This laid within him a strong foundation for his success.

When Rakhim was 21 years old, he started his career in the banking world. As a teller, he was exposed to customers with a wide-range of attitudes and relationships to money. As he enjoyed the education part of his job the most, he decided to lean into it and became an author, speaker, and financial coach.

Rahkim is an advocate for empowerment and he uses personal finance and financial education to help people. When people have a better understanding of their relationship with money, it starts to open up pathways for empowerment in other areas of their life.

“Use fear as an ally. You can move through fear with that fear towards the accomplishment of your goals.”

16:56

Rahkim left the corporate world during this time known as the Great Resignation, and is a full-time entrepreneur. It was a big step for him after almost 10 years in the corporate world.

He started as a financial educator but realized that financial empowerment is missing from the market. Many people have basic financial literacy, but don't have the belief in themselves to take action or to set goals that could make them uncomfortable. So Rahkim developed a space in behavioral finance that focuses on financial trauma and empowerment.

One of Rahkim’s goals is to create transparency around finances, so people can heal from their financial traumas. He teaches how to view fear as an ally and use it to reach our goals.

The Final 3 Questions

  • What is the lesson that has taken you the longest to learn?

To have supreme confidence. Rahkim has experienced low self-esteem in the past. He had to learn how to be confident in himself without being arrogant or egotistical.

  • What are the 2 principles from the Growing Careers & Companies Framework that resonate the most with you?

Values and Authenticity. Rahkim built his brand around these 2 words. He’s focusing on his values in his business and shares his journey honestly.

  • What do you hope others take away from your story?

Supreme confidence. There’s a tremendous amount of pressure to be somebody that we're not or to only show the filtered version of us on social media. However, being who you are is the best way to be content and truly successful.
