Description

Onscreen, Bruce Willis dodged bullets and explosions in Die Hard and countless action films, making him the biggest movie star of the ‘90s. Offscreen, he dodged the tabloid press and became so determined to live a private life he moved to one of the smallest towns in Idaho. But he didn’t just want to live in Hailey — he wanted to transform it. Soon, this sleepy old mining town was home to a culture clash between Hollywood spectacle and small-town values, with real-life secret rooms, car chases, and betrayal worthy of a Willis thriller. Welcome to Haileywood. Host Dana Schwartz will be your guide.

Very repetitive and so many ads that throw you out of the story. Story doesn't seem to be organized, feels like I have heard the same thing multiple times now. It's an interesting story but would probably be better to just read an article about it instead
The broad story is pretty interesting, but three episodes in it's already dragging on, being repetitive and going into unnecessary details just to pump more episodes out of this. The ads are extremely intrusive and ruin any enjoyment you could get out of this.
This series was okay, not good. Like most listeners, I unsubscribed after the third episode. There are some interesting memories (LOL Planet Hollywood, why did we think that would be cool?), but mostly Willis is just not that interesting of a person (to his credit), and nothing he did in Hailey Idaho seems to be worth a deep look. Who can't relate to wanting to live in a jaw-droppingly gorgeous small town? If you're a millionaire, why not inject a bunch of money into the economy of the town you love while you are there? Maybe it is silly and a little awkward, but it doesn't seem to have been harmful. Taking this story as an opportunity to look back at 80s and 90s phenomena like "Moonlighting" and "Die Hard" makes this podcast a little more interesting, but, like most people point out, it still feels like mostly filler. I think if they had cut the number of episodes to 4, this one might have been worthwhile. As it is, I can't recommend it, unless you are a Bruce Willis fan.
