My expectations for Team Captains:
-Lead by example
-Build up your teammates
-Be a vocal leader
-Call out teammates to give better effort when needed

My expectations were a progression. They had to earn it like respect. The boss isn't always the Team Captain. The MVP isn't always the team captain. The coach can't be the team captain.

A good coach helps develop team captains into who they can be. Mindset and leadership development are keys to being a great coach. Never leave your team with a leadership void. Always be looking to the next leader. A good coach plants the seed of leadership early on in a young athletes development.

Being a team captain requires sacrifice for the betterment of the team.
